The first time Steve Harrington met Eddie Munson, it didn't leave a good impression.

What an asshole.

Steve watched in disbelief as Munson got up on a table during lunch, starting a tirade about the school clubs and what was considered acceptable. It was only their third day. He swore to himself never to get involved in Munson's shit as people started to laugh and whisper, even if he was slightly in awe of Munson's boldness and complete lack of social standing, like he didn't care.

Which meant he was a black hole to Steve's future. He was the type of person his parents would be embarrassed to be associated with. The name Munson was dirt on their shoes. So Steve should feel like that too and felt a familiar sneer grace his face when Munson looked at him, getting a laugh out of Tommy.

Munson was to be avoided at all costs

The first time Eddie Munson met Steve Harrington, he barely noticed him. One glance at his carefully ironed clothes and hair told Eddie everything he needed to know.

Self-centred asshole.

Harrington was just like every other rich kid Eddie had met, and it wasn't long before his prediction turned true. Annoyed at the school's continued refusal to let them have a DnD club, Eddie had gone on another rant, admittedly early in the year for him, a new record after only being back three days. And Harrington sat there with the other nepotists, staring at him with amusement and skepticism. He'd probably never had a hard day in his life.

Eddie swore he'd never get involved with someone associated with the Harrington's, let alone their spawn. As far as Eddie was concerned, Harrington didn't exist.

When Steve finally saw Eddie, he realised how wrong he had been.

Eddie had a big heart under all the sarcasm and leather. He had pretty brown eyes that Steve easily got lost in, and his laughter was infectious.

Thanks to babysitting the buttheads, Steve got dragged to their game meetings, and he wasn't all that surprised when he found Eddie heading their group. But he was stunned at how easily Eddie got along with them all, and just like that, their little group had grown. It wasn't long before Steve hung out with Eddie alone, drawn in by his easygoing nature and energy.

He wanted to kiss Eddie, to hold him, and never let go.

So much for first impressions.

When Eddie finally saw Steve, he realised it too.

Steve was just as alone as Eddie was, and they clicked like two pieces of a puzzle, even if he couldn't see the complete picture yet.

Night after night spent together in his trailer, smoking and drinking beers, secrets shared in the darkness that weaved a stronger bond between them with each smile and touch.

When Steve leaned in one night, Eddie met him halfway, and it was as easy as breathing, their lips meeting in an entirely too soft kiss. He promised he would never let go, and his heart swelled when Steve agreed.

First impressions weren't always right, and Eddie couldn't be more glad about it.
