Hey it's me, True-Blue-Pikachu! Welcome to a side-series of when Yugioh characters go through their daily lives without any world-breaking threats aiming for domination over a children's card game.
This is purely a side mode series where I take a classic cartoon, in this case Classic Spongebob, and have characters from Yugioh act them out. I'm gonna be doong sone of these whenever I feel like it, and when I do watch some Spongebob episodes I can act out with a set of characters. This is the only chapter I have currently, but I figured I'd post this here as an apology to those still waiting on Nepgear Savior's Tale, and to show my love for both series.
This one shows one of my favorite classic Spongebob episodes: Idiot Box. I couldn't decide on two of the main 4 characters of the original Yugioh to be Spongebob and Patrick, so I decided to have that role shared between all 4 of them, with Yugi & Téa leaning towards Spongebob, and Joey & Tristen leaned towards Patrick. Who did that leave for Squidward? Seto Kaiba, of course. There are other creative liberties I took when writing this episode, so expect a few more familiar faces to pop up here and there.
Now with all that said and done, it's time we got going. Enjoy the hijinks of memory lane!
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters
Friendship Shenanigans
Chapter One: Idiot Box
Domino City, Yugi's House
Here we find Yugi Muto, Joey Wheeler, Tristan Taylor, and Téa Gardner standing outside the Muto residence all waiting patiently beside the sidewalk. Joey squints his eyes while blocking the sun out. Yugi speaks up to his friends, "See anything yet, guys?"
"I need my glasses." Tristan says as he picks up two glasses of water. Joey looks at his friend and takes one glass, "Hey, gimme one of those."
Both teen boys drank the water from the glasses before putting them over one of their eyes. Tristan smiled as he saw something approaching, "Hmmm…" Joey caught on too as they both shouted out, "It's the mail truck!"
"Our package!" Yugi and Téa shouted excitedly. Then out of nowhere, all four friends started hopping around and dancing to a random tune, Tristan and Joey tossing their glasses away.
As the random dance session happens, a lone red sports car slowly drives by on the opposite side of Yugi's home. Out from the windows loomed Seto Kaiba, gazing at his fri– er… classmates, with an uninterested yet bewildered expression, "...I didn't realize it was Happy Hopping Dweeb Day."
The mail truck drove over to the four dancing Duelists, stopping to open the back end. A delivery man poked his head out from the back end, "Yugi Muto?"
"That's me." Yugi called out as he clapped his hands together and did a 'snake out of the pot' dance motion. The mailman went back in and pushed a box out from the back end of the mail truck.
"That's a big box!" Kaiba said in awe as he leaned out the window of his sports car.
As soon as the box landed on the concrete, Yugi called out to the mailman, "Thank you!"
"Hey, Téa? When do we stop hopping?" Joey asked his dance expert friend. To which Téa responded with a giggle as she flicked her hair, "30 more seconds, boys. Hehehe~"
"I'll bet Yugi's old man ordered a lifetime supply of Duel Monsters accessories and playmats, as well as new cards to restock his inventory." Kaiba said to himself as he turned away from the dancing foursome's antics. Kaiba smirked to himself, "Pervert duelists would sell an arm and a leg for that new Magician Girl set of Yugi's. Hahahahaha. Pegasus is certainly a people pleaser, if nothing else."
But just as he was about to start up his car again, Kaiba's rear view mirror saw Yugi and his friends lifting up a massive TV that looked even bigger than the box it came in! He opened his car door and stood up, "Huh?! A brand new television?!"
"Easy… Careful now…!" Yugi said to the group. They all heaved the TV to the side of the house, crashing it in the wall. The wall looked cracked but the TV was perfectly fine.
"Oooh… There goes this week's allowance from Grandpa." Yugi said with a wince.
"Worry about the damages later, Yugi! Hop in, everyone!" Tristan yelled as he jumped inside the box. Joey laughed a little as he leapt inside after Tristan, "Haha! Get back here, you!"
"Come on, Pharaoh! Us too!" Yugi shouted as he dived inside. Téa bounced a bit before she hops in, "Hey guys, wait up!"
After everyone was in the box, four pairs of hands reached out and closed the lids on the group, and four giggling laughs could be heard from inside, "Hehehehehe!"
"Just when I thought they couldn't get any stupider…" Kaiba mumbled to himself as she slammed the car door shut and walked over to the giggling box, "Let me get this straight. You four ordered a giant screen television… just so you can play in the box?"
The box opens up in response, and Yugi's head pops up with childlike innocence plastered on his expression, "Pretty smart, huh?" Three more heads rose from the box as Tristan commented, "I thought it wouldn't work."
"Yes, quite a plan there." Kaiba admitted, "Now, there's something else I wanted to ask. Hmmm, what was it…? Oh yeah!" Kaiba stomped his foot once and raised a fist at the group, "DON'T YOU GUYS HAVE ANY BRAINS?!"
Téa leaned against the box with her arms resting on top, "Kaiba, we don't need television. Not as long as we have…" She raised her hands above her head and made a rainbow, "Imaginaaation!"
"Wow. I've never thought of it that way. That's really something." Kaiba said with a ping of interest… before dropping to a neutral tone, "Who's keeping the TV, anyway?"
Yugi jumps out of the box while making the same hand rainbow as Téa, "With Imaginaaation, I can be anything I want." Yugi closes one eye and curves his index finger like a hook, "A pirate. Arr!" He then stands on one foot, his hand out and leaning forward while his other arm looks like he's carrying a ball, "A football player. Hup!"
"An Egyption Pharaoh!" Joey called out for the group. Kaiba pointed a finger at Yugi, "Wheeler, Yugi was already an Egyption Pharaoh."
Yugi's Millenium Puzzle shined and he appeared older, taller, and more confident. Yami Yugi smirked playfully, "See, Kaiba? It works. Now you try."
"Okay, let me see…" Kaiba closed his eyes and rubbed his hands on his head, "I'm imagining myself on a day off running Kaiba Corp., watching TV…" He points at the TV against Yugi's grandfather's shop, "And there it is!"
"Buy your own TV and box, Kaiba. That one's going to Serenity!" Joey declared out of nowhere. Unphased, Kaiba looked the Pharaoh in the eye, "Well can I take it to her, Yugi?"
"Sure, Kaiba." Yami Yugi smiled. Kaiba went over to the TV and laughed, "Hahahahahaha!"
"Okay, Kaiba! But if you change your mind, we'll be in this box!" Téa called out to Kaiba, who had already taken the TV and pushed it to his sports car.
"Hmmmm… Ey, Pharaoh." Joey said as Yami Yugi stepped inside the box, "Up for playing Mountain Climbin' Adventure with us?"
"I've never been on a mountain climb. Let's go for it!" Yami Yugi gave a thumbs up before the group closed the box again.
Téa's voice was heard first "Gloves!"
"Check." Joey responded.
Téa called to the group again, "Hats!"
"Check." Yami Yugi confirmed.
Téa gave one more call, "Underwear!"
"Uhhh…" Tristan hesitated a moment before he gave a surefire "Check!"
"Okay, Joey! Climb up there and secure this rope!"
"You got it, Téa!" Joey shouted before he made grunting noises to indicate he was actually climbing a mountain. As Kaiba fastened the TV on top of his sports car, he overheard the grunting noises from Joey 'climbing', as well as what seemed to be picks against rock or ice and boots stepping on snow.
"Wait, Joey! JOEY!" Téa called out, "Joey, you're going too high!"
Kaiba sighs as he closes the door to his car and turns the start-up key, "I hope they put some air holes in that box." Kaiba drives off to deliver a TV he planned to watch.
"Joey! Take it easy, man! You gotta acclimate!" Tristan called out from the box.
"I'll take it easy when I'm DEAD!" Joey shouted to the group, "Wooo, baby! I'm shakin hands with Obelisk! Yeaaah! Ride 'em, Hermos!"
The sports car drives back to the road and Kaiba steps back out, "Where's that remote?"
Kaiba knelt to the box to pick up that remote, pocketing it as he heard Joey yell out, "I'm da Red Eyes Black Lizard King! Woooo! Yeah, you guys gotta get up here!"
"Joey. Joey! JOEY!" Yami Yugi called loudly, "I think we need to keep our voices down! We might start an avalanche!"
"Ha– What?!" Joey called back. Téa spoke up, "Joey! Yugi said to keep our voices down! In case of avalanches!"
"Wait, what should we keep down?!" Tristan called this time. Kaiba's eyes shifted to nothing in particular, "Morons."
"OUR VOICES!" both Téa and Yami Yugi shouted.
"Will you guys SHUT UP?!" Kaiba shouted as he kicked the box hard. But as soon as he did…
BOOM!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!"
"DAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
"WOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Upon hearing everyone screaming and the avalanche sounds, Kaiba turned to the box with a shocked expression on his face. He raised an eyebrow for a moment when he didn't see the box move from the racket, but then grew concerned again and started to sweat when he heard bones cracking.
A few more moments later, all Kaiba could hear was pained grunts and crying sounds. He hesitantly knelt down before he placed a hand on the box, "Yugi…?"
BOOM!
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Kaiba jumped in fright and started to shake as he heard another avalanche befall the group inside the box. Not too long after, the pained crying sounds came back. Tristan could be heard softly whimpering, "Hold me…"
"What will happen now?" Yami Yugi asked, "Will we make it out alive?"
"Oh yes we will, Yuge! Hang on, Tristan! Da rescue choppers are on the way." Joey reassured the group.
"Guys… My legs are frozen solid." Téa sounded like she was about to freak out, "There has to be some w-warmth or a fire…! I can't dance without any legs!"
"It's too late for dem, Téa… Yugi, you gotta cut Téa's legs off with a saw!"
Getting scared himself, Kaiba had a hand over his heart and his eyes widened. He fell on his knees and was breathing heavily as he sweated from fear.
"No, Joey… I can't." Yami Yugi said somberly.
Joey then asked, "Why not, Yugi?"
"Because I've already cut off my own arms." came Yami Yugi's dead serious voice.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Téa's screams were enough to rouse Kaiba's distress. He hurriedly made his way to the box and pried the flaps open, "Gnh! …What the?"
Contrary to what he was expecting to see, the four in the box were perfectly fine, and they all gave Kaiba confused looks. Tristan leaned against Joey with an arm clenching his green jacket, while Joey tried to 'mend' Téa's legs. Téa herself was holding Yami Yugi's 'limp' arm and clutching it to her chest.
"How are you geeks making that noise?" Kaiba asked, his desperation replaced with bewilderment.
Joey rose up and chuckled, "Heh heh. What noise, Kaiba?"
"All I heard was laughter and the thrill of the mountain climb." Yami Yugi spoke as the rest poked out of the box.
Kaiba raised his hand up as he pressed the group, "Yes, but those sound effects! The picks as you climbed the rocks! Th-the avalanche! T-T-The–"
"Don't forget the second avalanche." Téa interrupted.
Kaiba clenched his fist and closed the box on the four of them, "Grr, forget it!" He turned around and looked towards the massive building located a ways away from the Muto residence, "I don't know why I'm wasting my time out here when I could be running my multi-million dollar business corporation."
The minute Kaiba stepped on the road, however, he heard a helicopter sound and looked around frantically, "What in the world? I didn't order a KaibaCorp helicopter ride!"
"Attention climbers! Please, hold on!" A childlike rescuer voice came from… the box?! "The sun lamps are on the way!"
"Yaaaaaay!" came the cheering voices of Téa, Joey, and Tristan. Kaiba sneered before he opened the box again, "Aha!"
But just like before, everyone was alright. The only differences were Tristan not looking scared and the younger Yugi Muto was present instead of Yami Yugi.
"How are you doing that?!" Kaiba asked in annoyance.
Yugi raised a finger beside him, "First we establish a base camp at 15,000 feet…"
"The noises! How are you bozos making those noises?!" Kaiba clairfied. Everyone poked their heads out as Téa answered, "It's not that complicated. You just need a box."
"And good ol' Imaginaaation!" Tristan waved his hands and formed the Imagination Rainbow.
"Are you trying to say that I, the CEO of a successful children's entertainment corporation, have no imagination?!" Kaiba sounded extremely offended at the group's unspoken implication, "As the big boss of Kaiba Corp, I have much more Imaginaaation–" Kaiba did the hand motion but no rainbow appeared, "In just ONE Duel Monsters deck, than the four of you could stuff in that antique puzzle around Yugi's neck!"
Yugi looked at his Millenium Puzzle for a moment before he looked up at Kaiba, "Wow, that's amazing! Now all you need is a box."
With that, the group closed the box again. Kaiba didn't hear anything this time, but he did turn around with a huff, crossing the street again to his sports car, "I'll show them." Kaiba said as he drove off from the Muto residence/Game Shop.
Later at the Wheeler Residence
Rather than face direct embarrassment from his own employees and little brother, Kaiba decided that it was in his best interest to spend the day with the Wheelers. He was allowed in because Serenity told her mom that Kaiba was her babysitter, which the student/CEO reluctantly went along with, while her and Joey's mom went out into town for a Girls' Day Out.
Besides, he did say he was gonna deliver the TV to Serenity earlier today.
"Mr. Kaiba? Are you in here?" Serenity asked as she peered into her brother's room, "Oh!"
"There's got to be one in here…" Kaiba said as he rummaged through the closet to Joey's room before he picked up a larger than average size, "Aha! This hat box should do nicely."
Serenity saw Kaiba open a box and then toss out what was inside. She picked up a light brown sombrero with a green design and red beads from the bottom rim from the floor, "...Why haven't we worn these yet?"
Meanwhile, Kaiba steps inside the box he just opened and placed the top on his head, and then sat there with his hands on his knees, "..."
"...Pffft!" Serenity looked over at Kaiba, the sombrero concealing all but her eyes as she tried to hold in her laughter.
Kaiba, not being fully inside the box and probably looking ridiculous, soon had a scowl on his face. He checked his watch for a moment before his patience wore out. "Grrrrrgh!" He emerged from the small box and kicked it in anger, "Stupid BOX!"
But then suddenly, a police siren was heard throughout the neighborhood, as well as a familiar yet speaker filtered voice, "Attention! We have you surrounded! Come out with your hands up!"
Kaiba stepped back in surprise, "What do they want with me? What did I do?"
"Oooooooooh!" Serenity points at the empty box on the floor, "You violated Domino City's new box kicking law, Mr. Kaiba!"
"Haaa!" Kaiba gasps and his pupils shrink, "If word of this gets out, KaibaCorp's reputation will be broken beyond repair!"
As Kaiba hurriedly picks up the box and runs out, Serenity follows after him and takes out her phone to try and call someone, but sees a familiar number and name on the screen, "Huh? Joey's calling me?"
"Look, officers! Everything's okay!" Kaiba shouted as he showed the full box in good condition to whoever was outside, "I-I won't do it again!"
"M-Mr. Kaiba!" Serenity walked up to Kaiba and held up her phone, "The police got my brother, and now they called me! Am I… Am I under arrest too?"
"Huh? Arrested Wheeler?" Kaiba asked as he listened in close to Serenity's phone. Then he heard disguised voices of people he knew, and they seemed to be pretending to be cops and burglars.
"You'll never take me alive, coppers!" He heard Joey's voice through Serenity's phone. But then he heard a cop voice that sounded too much like Yugi's, "No, Johnny, don't do it!"
"Nnnnnnngh!" Kaiba turned around and gripped the box tightly before he let it go, just to kick it away in a fit of rage, "That butt dialing AMATEUR!"
"gasp! Mr. Kaiba!" Serenity gasped as she saw Kaiba kick her hat box away.
Although they couldn't see where the box ended up, Kaiba and Serenity were quick to notice the abrupt stop of the police sirens and getaway bike sounds. Then they heard Tristan's voice from the phone, "Aww yeah! Another box!"
"Ey, dat looks like a hat box I got from my ma a few years back." Joey's normal voice pointed out, "And it's not dat big a box for us to fit in."
"I know we can make use of this if we try, guys." Téa spoke out, "For now… Uh, where were we…? Oh yeah!"
The siren and motorcycle noises came back through Serenity's phone. Kaiba and Serenity looked at each other for a moment before Kaiba silently walked inside. Serenity nervously giggles and hangs up her phone before she goes in after him, "So I guess there's no box kicking law?"
Kaiba soon ends up in Serenity's room and he sits down on her desk chair. Serenity noticed him grabbing her new TV remote, "What are you doing in my room, Mr. Kaiba?"
"Anything I can do to try and relax." Kaiba answered as he pointed the remote at the TV he brought in this morning, "Perhaps I can drown out these childish games with a little TV."
He pressed the button and on came a material production channel with a line of boxes moving on a factory conveyor belt, "It is here that the boxes reach their final stage of assembly."
BZZT!
"The equation is illustrated here by this box." An old teacher tapped his stick on the chalkboard.
BZZT!
"I couldn't decide on one present this year, so I got them all and placed them in this box." A rich man on the TV placed a box on the table to a familiar looking blond actress. The blond girl gaspes softly and took out another box, "That's what I got you, hun."
Serenity stared closely at the TV, "Mai?"
"Isn't there anything on that isn't about BOXES?!" Kaiba shouted in exasperation.
BZZT!
"And welcome back to Championship Boxing!" A sports announcer's voice was heard over a cheering crowd.
"Hahahaha, I guess this is okay." Kaiba said as he started to relax, "I mean, this isn't really about boxes."
The bell sounded off. And in the arena on TV… two cardboard boxes, one with a Blue Eyes White Dragon art piece on top and another with art of the Dark Magician, shuffled against the floor and collided with each other. They smacked against one another, retreated, and then struck back.
"...I'm gonna step out for a few minutes." Kaiba said as he tossed the remote to Serenity and walked out. Serenity looked at the remote before she looked at the TV, "Hmm… I wonder if there are any Battle City reruns on TV?"
Kaiba left the Wheeler home and walked down a street. He pressed the intercom button on his KC clip of his white jacket, "Roland, maintain satellite surveillance on Serenity Wheeler. Notify me if she does anything dangerous or… unpleasant."
"Yes sir, Mr. Kaiba. If I may, sir… Why are we monitoring young Miss Wheeler?"
"I took a last minute babysitting side job and was entrusted by her and Joey's mother to–" That was as far as Kaiba got before he heard a countdown.
"3… 2… 1… Blast off!" A voice over an intercom said before sounds of a rocket being launched into space blared throughout the neighborhood. Kaiba's expression lost its composure as he stared off in an all too familiar direction. He heard his employee ask him, "Um, Mr. Kaiba? Are you at a space center right no–"
"ROLAND I'LL CALL YOU BACK!" Kaiba shouted as he hurried over to the Muto Game Shop.
It took more than a few minutes to reach the game shop, but Kaiba had the box in his sights and stopped a few blocks away, "How are they doing that?!"
"BZZT! Traveling down now, at 94…" a female voice was heard from inside the box, as well as other mystical noises that are usually heard at a space center.
"That was the most realistic space launch I've ever heard!" Kaiba exclaimed as he leaned to the side, a hand grabbing a mailbox on another house. He clenched his free hand and closed his eyes, "There's got to be an explanation! Think, Seto, think!"
Kaiba's "Imaginaaation"
"Hmhmhmhmhm~" Everyone giggled to themselves with their hands over their mouths. Yugi brought a finger over his lips, "Shhhhh!" He then pulls out a tape recorder and hits the Play button, playing out the rocket launch sounds. Everyone looked amused with themselves and smiling like they were blissful idiots. Téa pointed at the tape recorder, "Kaiba's such a jerk." That got her and everyone stifling their giggles again before they laughed out loud for everyone inside the box to hear, "Hahahahahahaha!"
Kaiba's eyes shot wide open as if realizing an obvious trick to a puzzle. Only this trick was at his expense. His expression turned to anger as his grip on the mailbox tightened to where he left dents, "Laugh at me, will they?!"
Fast footsteps were heard from outside the box as Kaiba opened the flaps and shouted in it, "Alright, where is it?!"
A gold shine from the Millenium Puzzle faded, revealing Téa with a finger phone on her face, Joey upside down looking like he was piloting a rocket, and Tristan with his hand positioned to look like he had a radio communicator. Yami Yugi pulled the lid of the green hat box over his face and saw Kaiba's accusing gaze, "...Hello again."
"Where's what, Kaiba?" Joey asked while raising an eyebrow.
"Don't 'Where's what Kaiba' me, Wheeler!" Kaiba said furiously as he peered his head inside the box, "Where's the tape recorder?"
"Ehhhh?" Téa poked her head out of the box in disbelief, "We don't have a tape recorder, Kaiba!"
"Don't 'We don't have a tape recorder Kaiba' me!" Kaiba shouted again. Téa puffed her cheeks and raised her hands to her chest, "But we don't!"
"We have a tape recorder box." Tristan said as he handed a small gray box out. Kaiba swiped the box from Tristan, looked at it for a moment, and then tossed it aside, "Alright, make way dweeb patrol! I'm coming in!"
Kaiba climbs his way inside the box and crashes down on the bottom. He looked around to find himself sitting inside a pretty spacious box zone with his classmates, "Hm. This box is much bigger once you're inside."
"Yes, quite similar to the Millenium Puzzle." Yami Yugi commented as everyone sat up straight, all looking at Kaiba, "Welcome aboard, Kaiba. You have just set sail on the S.S. Imaginaaation!" Yami Yugi also made the Imagination Rainbow with his hands, "Where our destinations are nothing less than fantastic adventures. Where shall we take you first?"
"No no, don't mind me." Kaiba waved Yami Yugi's words off with his hand, "I'm just here to observe."
"You still don't see, Kaiba?" Joey asked questioningly, "Waitin and watchin? Dat's not what the box is about."
"Yeah, man! This box is all about Imaginaaation!" Tristan waved his hands in front of Kaiba and made the Rainbow of–
"Alright, fine! Bring us back to Ancient Egypt!" Kaiba shouted as he swatted the rainbow away from his face, "No, wait! Take me to Robot Pirate Island! Better yet, I want to arm wrestle with cowboys on the moon! Just do it so I can put this nonsense behind me and run my damn company in peace!"
"You heard him, people! Robot Pirate Island it is!" Téa declared for the group. And with that… everyone but Kaiba closed their eyes and remained totally silent.
…
"Bee-bee-beep." Tristan made beeping sounds.
"Arr." Yami Yugi sounded out.
"Boop, boop, boo-boop!" Joey made boop sounds.
"Ahoy, matey." Yami Yugi said to no one in particular.
"Beep-beep!" Téa's beeping noises sounded more like a car horn imitation.
"For that, you'll walk the plank!" Yami Yugi declared. The four of them softly giggled to themselves afterwards.
Kaiba on the other hand… "Grrrrrrrrrrrr-AHHHHHHHH!" He growled and screamed before slamming his fists on the floor, startling everyone else in the process, "WHY WON'T THIS THING TURN ON?!"
Kaiba pulls himself out of the box in frustration, "Alright, fine! If you don't wanna show me, I don't care!" Kaiba shouted as he stepped outside, turning one more gaze to the four in the box, "I've got more important things to do than pace back and forth wondering how you bozos work this thing!"
Wheeler Residence
"How do those bozos work that thing?!" Kaiba screamed inside the house as he paced back and forth in Serenity's room, "There's got to be a secret button! Or a switch, or something!" Kaiba walks over to the windows and grabs the handles, "I mean, just–" …then he looks at Serenity, "Can I open a window?"
"Mm-hmm." Serenity nods as she eats a bag of popcorn while watching random movies. Kaiba opens one of Serenity's room windows, "Good, now just listen to this!"
Both of them can hear sounds of swords clashing and robots beeping from a distance. Kaiba gestured his hand out the window and looked at Serenity, "Now THAT sounds like Robot Pirate Island!"
"Hmmm… Maybe you should wait until they're done playing." Serenity suggested once her mouth wasn't full of popcorn, "Joey has been gone for a few hours, so he has to come home eventually and check up on me."
"That's it!" Kaiba shouted as he slammed the window shut! Serenity looked concerned as she asked, "Wh-What's it, Mr. Kaiba?"
"When Wheeler comes home and Yugi goes to bed, I'll sneak in and find that button!" Kaiba says as he makes his way to the chair on Serenity's desk. Serenity gave a soft, childlike smile and asked, "Does that mean you'll spend the night until Joey comes home?"
"I'll wait ALL night if I have to!" Kaiba declared before he sat down at Serenity's desk chair. Serenity raised her hands in the air, "Yaaaaaay!"
9:10 PM
Kaiba looked tired and unfocused, disbelief was all over his face as he did sit there and wait all night, "..."
Serenity heard the door to her room open as she saw Joey walk in, "Joey! How was your day at Yugi's place?"
"yaaaaawn It was a fun time. I had to clock out early so I could refuel my Imaginaaation tanks." Joey saw Kaiba on Serenity's desk and smirked before walking up to him, "Heh heh! So Kaiba, enjoy your adventure in babysittin'?"
"Oh, uh, b-baby– Yeah, yeah, kid was no trouble at all…! Gotta go! Mokuba might be worrying about me! Probably watching a scary movie or something, and he'll probably freak out and can't sleep! Bye!" Kaiba stood up with a start as he walked past Joey in a rush. Joey turned to watch him leave, "I'll get mom to send the bill for ya!"
"Bye, Mr. Kaiba!" Serenity called out.
Muto Game Shop
"Phew…! Finally, a fun game to play with friends with no ancient evil forces to disrupt us." Yugi said as he finished repairing the cracks in front of the shop. Yami Yugi's spirit form watched with an amused smile on his face, "I still can't believe the Pirate team defeated every opposing Robot."
"Can't wait to take you on another imaginary journey." Yugi said as he walked back to the front door and went inside, "See you in the morning, Pharaoh."
"Good night, Yugi." Yami Yugi said before he disappeared.
Later, Kaiba walked down the streets sneakily, looking around for signs of Yugi or his friends Téa and Tristan. Once the coast was clear, he quickly made his way to the box and hid behind it. Kaiba looked inside to find the box empty… Then he climbed inside and closed the flaps over himself, "Hahahahaha."
Kaiba sat down and saw a piece of paper on the side, "Huh? What's this?" He pulled the paper and began to read, "This plaque is to commemorate the brave pirates who gave their lives to keep this box safe from the robot menace. Lest we forget– Gaaah!" Kaiba tore up the paper into pieces, "Gotta find that button quick!"
Kaiba crawled a bit and looked at each corner, "It's gotta be around here somewhere!" He looked upwards at the flaps up top, "I don't see anything!" He pressed his face down at the bottom, "It's just an empty box!"
Kaiba sat up and leaned back against the side of the box, "Maybe… Maybe it really was their imagination?" Kaiba then held his head and shook those thoughts out, "Oooooh! Get it together, Seto! What are you saying?!"
Kaiba held his arms out to form a steering wheel, "Am I supposed to believe that if I pretend that I'm driving a race car, then I'll suddenly start hearing noises–" Kaiba's foot pushed forward as if on a gas pedal, and his words were interrupted by a car engine sound, "What the…?"
Kaiba moved one hand to push a stick forward, and he heard another sound like a car engine's before he put both hands on his imaginary wheel, "...It actually works. Ha ha… I can't believe it!"
He heard the engine sounds and felt a shake in the box as he pushed on his gas pedal while moving his wheel, "Ho ho hoo, boy! Sorry Blue-Eyes, but this beats children's card games by a long shot!" Kaiba shouted as his 'car' took off on the imaginary track, "Ah, Hahahahahahahaha! Woo-hoohoohoohoo!"
Outside, a garbage truck picked up the box Kaiba was in as he laughed and shouted from inside, "Hahahahahaha! This is the most fun I've ever had!"
As Kaiba's laughing and cheers could be heard from outside, Soloman Muto yawned as he checked in on Yugi, "Haaa. Yugi, my boy. Would you mind turning your fancy video games down a bit?"
"Oh that wasn't me this time, Grandpa. Sounds like Kaiba's outside, and he finally got that box to work." Yugi said as he was reading a book on his bed, "I'm so proud of him."
"Hmmm. Well, close your windows if you haven't already, Yugi. Us old folk need their beauty sleep too." Soloman said as he left Yugi's room.
Around the same time, the garbage truck carried the box, and a laughing Seto Kaiba along with it, down the long road and made its way to the dump.
"Vroom! Only two more laps to the finish line!" Kaiba said as he kept 'driving'. The garbage truck backed into a garbage pile as Kaiba exclaimed, "Hahahaha! I'm in the lead! Out of my way! Almost there! Hahahahahaha!"
The truck dumped the garbage inside the back onto the pile, and the box Kaiba was in started to slide down. "Woo-hoohoohoo! Victory is mine! Hahahaha– Whoa!" The box tipped over and Kaiba fell out of it, hitting bits of the garbage mountain along the way down, "Oof! Ow! Haaaaaa– Oomph!"
Kaiba faceplants into a lone blueberry pie with a thud. He pushed himself off the pie and groaned, "Blaaaaah… Doh!" Kaiba felt the box land on him as he lay down in the dump, almost unsure if he even won that race he imagined he was in.
The Next Morning
Yugi stepped outside to greet his friends approaching his home before they all noticed something missing in the front shop, "Hey… Our box is gone."
"What?! But I was gonna show it to Serenity after school today!" Joey exclaimed. Tristen rubbed the back of his head, "Sorry, guys. I forgot about last night being garbage night, otherwise I would've warned Yugi not to leave it outside."
"Oh well, at least we have the wonderful memories of our adventures in Imaginaaation." Téa made one last Imagination Rainbow.
