Day 49

When you woke up you found yourself once again in the field behind the castle, and it took a moment for you to remember why you were there.

Then you suddenly found yourself knowing about your beneficiary and what they got from you… which really just told you how weak your beneficiary (Myra?) was.

You also knew how to give her more of your abilities, though that wasn't something you were about to do without good reason.

And speaking of her

"Heeeey, hope you had a good nights sleep. The ground here's very soft!" she shouted as you looked down on her, unaware you could hear her clearly even if she wan't loud, "by the way, I got those cooking teachers for you. So you know… when you wanna learn, just order any of your staff team and they'll bring them out here."

Wait, your what?

"Oh yeah, you have a staff team now," she says, unhelpfully not explaining what it was, "they're right over there and you can just ask them for food and stuff."

Looking where she's pointing you see a group of humans, standing at the edge of the field, radiating a lot of fear. Staff… essentially your servants? Who do what you tell them to?

"One more thing! You can learn magic from the academy, which you have a place in by the way," she seemed to radiate an odd amount of happiness about that, "just ask your staff again when you want to go."

But an academy?

A… place of learning? People teach you things there?

Sound like what you asked for in the deal.

Soon thought she left you with the staff, and so you began doing what you always did when you came to a new place.

You began digging into the ground to make a new den. Something which is surprisingly easy, since under the soft dirt layer is a lot of hard stone that doesn't fall apart when you dig out the cavern.

Though, as you do so, you note that the humans, your staff, were standing nearby and making indistinct noises.

Noises which became distinct when you focused for a moment.

"Oh yeah, great idea Jolene. Lets say that to the castle sized dragon."

"I-I mean… wouldn't the queen be angry though…"

"A dragon Jolene. A dragon."

"… yeah… you're right."

Then they went quite and so you continued digging your new den, compacting the stone in a few places to avoid a collapse when you saw the roof crumbling a bit.

[Castle den made]

But anyways, with your den dug you immediately leave it again.

Arriving in front of you staff, who were practically blasting fear everywhere, and communicated to them that you wanted to go to this academy… then you realised that they didn't understand you.

You'll need to probably fix that… but for now you managed to get the point across by grabbing a stray boulder from your digging and using your shrink spell to reduce its size.

Which quite quickly had one of them being pushed forward by the other, who then slowly walked up to you with one of those crystals.

This time you were prepared for the sudden change and so managed to pay attention the sensations and whats happening around you. You don't get much, but you do feel like you're on the edge of something.

But ignoring that for now, you follow along as the human leads you to a building which… slides open?

"Umm, the princess said you can just stick your head in there to listen to the lecture…" the human told you, immediately letting out what you can only describe as a squeak as you look at it.

Average Student POV

It had been just a normal day for him, at least at the start.

It started with him getting breakfast, a modest one of eggs, pastries and a thigh of chicken. Then he went out to socialise with the other nobility who had decided to arrive to the academy, managing to improve his standing with his peers due to a lucky opportunity.

Then he ate lunch, grilled fish and bread, before making his way to the neutral magic class. He sat down in the lecture halls, near the centre specifically.

Then a fucking dragon head was looming over him.

He'll be the first to admit, he was absolutely terrified, so much so that he couldn't even move. And just when he felt hope seeing the professor enter the room?

"Ah, I see you've met our latest student," he said, only taking one glance at the dragon before addressing the whole class while gesturing towards the woman who entered with him, "now, first I'd like to introduce my new assistant. This is the ranger Selene, she will be acting as a translator for our latest student."

Then he took a deep sip from his coffee, bland look on his face.

"Now, today we'll start on shrinking spells," then he just continued!

The next few hours were, perhaps, the most stressful moments of his life. Made only worse when the dragon began growling, which actually caused someone to faint in the back, which turned out to be questions for the teacher.

If he wasn't as terrified as he'd been he would've actually been offended that a monster was better than him at learning magic.

But he was terrified, so he just sat there and tried not to piss himself.

[Bio-shrink (lesser)] learnt

Coming back to your newest den from the, surprisingly helpful, class you couldn't help but be a bit satisfied, what with how you'd finally managed to figure out how to shrink yourself… even if it was quite unpleasant.

You even felt that you could possibly improve your shrinking spell even more!

But that was for later, right now you needed to hunt something strong… which would be hard since you have no idea where this place is and where you'd find something other than weak humans.

So, instead of just wandering around aimlessly, you turn to your staff… and realise they can't understand you.

That is, at least, until they bring a familiar looking human with them, 'Ranger Selene' if you remember correctly, who told you the answer.

"Well, theres a Jotunn lord that's come down the mountains, and is bothering the nearby city, bit that way," she pointed in a direction, to which you looked and saw nothing, "yeah, you'll probably have to fly for a while. But if you carry me along I should be able to guide you-"

And that's all you needed to hear as you reach for her and blast off into the skies, towards where this 'jotunn lord'.

"That way over there, it should be in the forest there," your guide, who had calmed down finally, told you while pointing at the forest. Specifically, the only part of the forest that actually has snow falling on it.

"So, since I've shown you the way I'm just gonna… go now," and with that your guide pulls out a crystal and disappears as you continue your hunt, quickly finding this 'jotunn lord'…

And it looks like a giant blue human, albeit, one that feels far more dangerous.

Good thing it hadn't seen you.

ENEMY: Jotunn lord

HP: Healthy

Danger: Very high D

istance: Up to you (you're flying over it)

Size: A bit bigger than you

First thing first, you began ascending into the clouds, your… plan being a simple one.

You were going to get far out of the reach of the extremely dangerous feeling thing below you, and then you were going to pelt it with your breath repeatedly until it died.

Was it a bit boring? Maybe.

But you still remembered your fight with that thing, and you had no intention of having it happen again. So yes, the boring method it was.

And it started with you opening your maw wide and blasting down a pure white beam, tinged with a dark red edge, which blasted directly into the jotuun lord below you.

The resulting roar was loud enough for you to hear all the way up in the clouds as you were.

Still, while it'd seen you, it couldn't really do much but roar at you and… wait, did it just curl up behind a tree? Is it… trying to hide?Well, you didn't really care.

But seeing the stationary target, you decided to test the new breaths you instinctively knew how to use in this form. Though that didn't mean you were going to not take this seriously, instead you also pushed your core to add poison to your core.

Then you once again let out a breath… and it was weird.

Like a wave of something, that twisted side to side while somehow still went straight, left your mouth and shot towards the jotuun lord. Or was it already there?

Well, it didn't matter much because, the moment it touched the now standing creature, it just… killed it.

You have no other way to really describe it.

[You gained 1,598,848]

[You've reached level 95]

[Achievement: Mountain slayer]

Still, regardless of how you killed it, you still picked up the, weirdly intact, corpse and began flying back to your den with it.

And once you were back you immediately began to dig into it to get the core, though you also made sure not to damage the body too much, intending to use it for learning to cook for the humans.

But that was for later, because you had just found a core in the corpse. One which you immediately gobbled down without hesitation, before lying down and letting the sleepiness overtake you.

Day 50

When you woke up it was to a completely different den than the one you slept in.

For one, the entire cavern you'd made had been… smoothed out essentially. With the groves in the walls and the ground that you had made with your claws completely disappearing.

Then there was the massive ball of light hovering in the top center of the cavern.

But you kind of ignored that one, along with the preyious one, because of the fact that the entrance of your den had been covered over.

What once used to be the opening through which you climbed through to get out was now just normal ground… or at least it looked like it. Only for it to slowly slide open when you got near to it, much like the human building you'd gone to learn magic in.

So you knew that the humans had done this… and you…

Well, for the most part you were curious about the changes made. Mostly because they weren't ones that actively made your den worse, if anything they improved it, so you weren't really annoyed at that.

What you were annoyed about though was the humans sneaking around you while you were asleep.

You were also surprised that they were usefull, since now you didn't need to find a boulder to block the entrance.

Of course, after a basic examination of your new den, you made to leave through the new entrance.

Only for Myra, your beneficieary, to be waiting outside for you. And she was trying to get your attention, so you grapped her to bring her closer to your head.

Mostly for show of course, you could hear her fine even on the ground.

"First of all good morning, I heard you had a good hunt yesterday," she said once she was close enough to your head, in a wierd alternating tone of voice, "but you know, I'd been thinking and I realised that you need to learn more than just magic and cooking…"

Now, after mentioning learning something new, she had your attention.

"Yeah, so you need to learn culture, and probaly more language too," she states, as if you know what that means, "and I have just the teacher for that, if you wanna learn that…"

You just stare at her, trying to understand what cultuer means… which has to do with why they have certain behaviours? They being humans.

At least that's what you understand…

You eventually decide to agree to these, "culture lessons", and do the gesture with your head that humans do to show agreement.

"Right, great. Just wait here," she say, which you do, "… uh, can you put me down?"

It was a short while after you put her down and she ran back to the castle nearby, a time in which you just blankly stared at the skies, before coming back with another human.

Who was carrying a… wierd wooden thing. Similar to something you saw in the academy

I you remember correctly it was called a desk?

But anyways the other human put the desk in front of you and then began speaking, "hello mister dragon, I am Irma Corvings. I shall be the one teaching you about culture and language. Pleasure to meet you."

You look down at the tiny human, who'd used magic to create a white circle in the air.

What did you agree to?

"Oh yes, I have also learnt the skill animal speech. So you may ask any questions," the human just continued, before suddenly the white circle changed to show… images, "now, we'll start with the fusion of culture and language. Poetry."

Oh, so that's why humans keep making that expression when they see you. Due to the cultural biases against monsters and the inherent prejudice associated with monsters due to repeated large scale incidents.

Quite tragic, yet understandable.

Wait… how did you learn that?

[You know quite a bit about human culture]

[You know the general realtionship between monsters and humans]

Mind still reeling from learning the nuances of specific forms of adress and how significant 'the' can be, you just decide to go back to your den and cook the jotunn lord corpse you had.

So you returned to your den and quickly carved out a pot into the ground of your den, before slicing the jotunn with your claws and let the blood drain into the pot. Because you needed to have liquid in the pot first, if you remember correctly.

Then you slowly began breathing fire onto the blood to heat it up.

But this time you didn't just dump the whole body into the hot liquid. Because, for one, there wasn't enough blood in there for the whole body and secondly because you wanted to test something.

So instead you cut the corpse into half, then you began to pull out the bones from one of the halves before dropping them into the the blood and stirring with your claws. ecause you could distantly remember the bear demi-human saying something about stock or something.

Still, even without remembering the exact thing you say the changes yourself as the blood turned a pale blue after a few stirs.

It was only after the blood stopped changing that you threw in the rest of the, deboned, jotunn into the blood. This time sliced into even-ish chunks.

A bit more stirring, and with a twist of something inside you, it was finished.

The pale blue-white liquid in the bottom of your 'pot'

And you immediately lap up the entire thing, enjoing the cool taste on your tongue.

Even as you felt a heavy pulse release from your chest along with the thing layer of frost that now covered the walls of your den.

[Freeze infusion improved]

[? 3/7]

You sat there for a bit, until the last of the glowing blue fluid finally setteled in your stomach. Once that was done you immediately got up and out of your den, only to immediately sit down immediately the moment you left.

Why?

Well, it had to do with how, when you were flying above the jotunn lord while raining your breath down onto it, you were having trouble making out the details of the enemy. Which isn't really that big of an issue that time, since that had been the furthest you could've been while still being able to hit it with your breath.

Had. Because now you instinctively knew your range was significantly higher than that time, meaning that you'd eventually have problems seeing what your hitting with your breath.

What all that had to do with you sitting outside your den?

It was because, much like other thing you'd found yourself needing to improve, you were strengthening your sight. Specifically by trying to keep track of the small humans in the castle from the other side of the field.

Random Maid POV

She carefully continued to sweep the floors, making sure not to turn around. She was, after all, but a humble maid who was in no way related to any form of cultish behaviour or other such things.

… she could feel the dragons gaze burning a hole in her back.

How did it know!?

Lizard POV

You continue watching the humans for a while more, until eventually you begin to feel the need to go to sleep. Though by that point you had felt your sight, and even all your other senses, had improved massively.

So, as you went to sleep, you were pretty satisfied.

Day 51

You woke up to another day, feeling oddly relaxed.

Something you soon realised was from the light that the humans had hung inside your den, it somehow making you feel extra relaxed.

Which was good, though it made you curious on how it works.

But you didn't stay and examine the orb of light all day, instead you decided to strengthen your bones first. Mostly due to how relaxed you felt.

And you even had the idea to call for your staff to aid you in your attempts at making your bones stronger, something you'd been about to do only to suddenly stop as you came to a realisation.

Your blood, every time you'd seen it since you were tiny, had been… incredibly potent to say the least. More than enough to kill weak creatures.

Humans were weak creatures.

… you made your way out of your den, before shooting up into the sky. It took a while, but you did eventually find a far off place to strengthen your bones.

THough the time you'd spent looking around had meant that you didn't get as much time as you'd want to do so.

Still, you felt they were marginally stonger by the end anyways. And you had some scales and bits of meat for your side of the deal, which you carried back to the den.

[Refuse trade material (small pile)] gained

[Trade it in to increase favour with the humans]

Queen POV

She looked at her daughters face, "no Myra. We're not giving another S-class core to it."

Her daughter just pouted harder, tears beginning to appear at the edge of her eyes, "but mom, I already agreed to give him one… and look! Those scales are gonna be reaally useful right?"

Ah yes, the literal house sized pile of purple scales, that needed the top craftsman to even work on them, that she's gotten from the dragon. The same dragon the maids were complaining kept staring at them.

She swears, if that thing has a human form… she is not dealing with dragon bloodline babies!

"Look, Myra. We can't just keep giving it cores, we need them for if there is an emergency," she tried to reason softly.

"But we have three more if we give him one now," and now she regretted letting her access the treasury, "plus, isn't having a tier five dragon helping us better than a one time use core? I mean dad thinks so!"

She turned to her husband… who was currently smiling while lifting a scale, "honey, look! It's as big as me!"

… she turned back to her daughter, "your father isn't the one who you're trying to convince right now."

"Please mom," oh that's just unfair.

"… the weakest one, that's it," and she braced herself as she was hugged by her daughter.

Now… time for her to change her plans to account for the loss of two of the five S-class cores… she needs some wine.

Lizard POV

You look at the crystal core before you, surprised at how easily you'd gotten it.

Not that you were going to reject it because of that surprise of course, it was just strange to see another one without having to fight for it.

[You gained 1 crystal core]

Deciding not to eat the core immediately, not with quite a bit of the day remaining, you instead went over to one of the staff and asked them for where a fire monster could be found.

Which they strangely enough actually understood without a translator, giving you directions to a "decently strong" fire monster.

Yet you couldn't help but not trust it, especially with how you couldn't feel any emotions coming off it but happiness. Something that didn't happen with any other staff you'd talked to.

So you set off in the directions given, crystal core in hand.

And it was shortly after that you saw the "decently strong" monster the staff had pointed you to. One that didn't immediately notice you because of a sudden cloud blowing over and covering you.

Another dragon, a female one from what your instincts are telling you.

Enemy dragon

Health: Healthy

Danger: Boss

Distance: Up to you

Size: Half again larger than you

You'll admit.

When you looked at the larger dragon you felt a small surge of fear…

and that filled you with rage.

So much so that you could feel your heart start beating with such force that it sent shockwaves through the surroundings and lit up your chest with monochromatic lights.

Something that cause the dragon below you to look up… but it was too late for it.

Because you'd already filled your lungs with enough air to cause your chest bones to crackle and the moment she looked up, you released it all in a thing lance of black, whites and dark reds. Which lanced straight through her head, then the spine, and then even the tails. Until finally it burrowed a deep, yet narrow, hole into the ground behind it.

Then the other dragon collapsed, dead, and you were left panting.

[You gained 3,439,720]

[You've reached level 101

[Achievement: Nuke]

Eventaully, after a short time of catching your breath, you begin the process of dragging the corpse back to your den.

Something harder than it looks, what with it being far heavier than you expected, but eventually you succeed and manage to drag it into your cavernous den.

And then you begin digging around inside the corpse to find any crystals that may be there.

Which turns out to be the case as you pull out a crystal about half the size of your claws and, without wasting more time, scarf it down along with the other one you'd gained from the humans.

You were out cold by the time you hit the ground.

Day 52

When you woke up it was to a sudden realisation that you were even bigger than you were before.

Not just that, but your scales had also changes, becoming thicker and more rough in places. Al together giving a more solid and steady feeling.

Still, you got up for the day.

"No, no. You gotta put your back into the mixing with a pot this big!" your beneficiery said, while demonstarting with the long metal stick in her hand, "you have to put your hips and back into it."

You watch as she does the motions, before looking at the significantly smaller metal stick in your hand, one with a small bowl at the end.

Then you turn back just in time to see her get hit by a spurt of fire, one that leaves her missing hald her clothes. Not that she seems to care, instead busy swying side to side as she mixes the glowing liquid.

…you just put your own stick, a ladel as she said, into the other side and try to mimmic her body movement with your claws and the ladel.

It turns out quite well actually, though your beneficeary refused to taste it and instead only watched as you decided on whether to consume it.

Of course, the choice to consume the food is not one that takes you long to come to and you proceed to consume the entirety of the liquid in one go. Though, as you do so you hear Myra say something that gave you pause.

"You know, with the way you're enjoying it I'm almost tempted to give it a try… but I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be worth the pain to eat it," she said as you gulped down the last of it. Which caused you to think for a moment and come to a realisation.

The reason she'd refused to eat some of the food hadn't been because of she didn't want it. But instead because she actually couldn't eat it…

… which was a strange thing for you to hear, since you couldn't really understand not being able to eat clearly edible food. Still, as strange as it was, you could probably fix that… and you will, mostly due to the help she gave with the cooking.

"What?" she spoke, the moment you felt the decision go through inside you, "oh wow, uh… thank you I guess. I… will definetly pay you back for this. Holy shit, it just keeps getting better."

[? 6/7]

[? 6/7]

It was only after you heard that and she was about to leave that you remembered something, specifically that you wanted to tell her something, and so you stopped her.

Then you began to try to communicate to her what you wanted her to know, which she seemed to understand. So, as you told her about the suspicious staff member who did not seem to feel the same emotions as every other staff you've interacted with, she just nodded along until you finished informing her.

"…of course, that's gonna happen. And obviously you can sense emotions. Yeah," she said while letting off a feeling of annoyance, "but yeah, just ignore anything those types of staff say and go to another staff that doesn't feel like that."

You nod at that without hesitation. You didn't particulalry trust those humans anyways and ignoring what they say wasn't something you minded doing.

Though, you'd still listen to them if you wanted to.

For whatever reson you may want that.

Worlds:

Godzilla: Monsterverse [Origin element and radiation stuff]: Will mostly involve you bing a kaiju. Each kaiju will be a hard fight, and each will boost your origin element, offer a special radiation, and whatever unique thing they have that sets them aside from other kaiju's (ie. Ghidora's gravity lightning). There's also the center of the earth, which has the lesser kaiju's to hunt and the oxygen destroyer. (5:1 time dialation)

Minecraft: Orespawn [A lot of OP stuff, along with a lot of danger] : Just Orespawn, but it will have players that'll actually be spawning the bosses… they will try to kill you. (2:1 time dialation)

Generic Xianxia [A lot of drugs, cheat, edibles, etc.] : Generic Xianxia, when you enter there will be a "sign from the heavens" givning away your location. You'll be swarmed by xianxia idots, but they'll have a tonne of stuff. (10:1 time dialation)

Generic korean/japanese death game [High causality world] : The only one where you actually get to decide your entry point (since the experience will be completely different based on where you are). Actions here will lead to far more causality gain, which means greater achievement and skill/ability gain. Mostly though, the world will have a lot of conspiracies. (7:1 time dialation)

Worm (aleph original) [Tinker tech and power stuff. Very little actual earth bet worm.] : Will be set in earth aleph where all parahumans are kept under wraps by the government, your arrival will more or less be an endbirnger attack and you'll have to fend off quite a few parahuman. They'll use a lot of exotic stuff on you and you'll be able access some novel stuff. Is noticiably higher causality than the other worlds (except generic koreak/japanese). (4:1 time dialation)

Elden ring [Runes and greater runes] : Just a lot of conceptual stuff, with the great rune being incredibly powerfull. Scaling even above the gods in the otome world. But keep in mind that you're only marginally bigger and stronger than basic ancient dragons and that Godwyn killed Gransaax (who is like, 5 times bigger than you) without a great rune. Due to heavily regualted causality in this world gaining xp, achievements and skill/ability xp is harder but runes exist there and can be used to strengthen yourself… if you figure them out. (Time does not pass while in this world)

Also, thanks to internalising the dimensional tag you guys can now choose to return early if you've completed a major thing in the world (i.e. you get a great rune in elden ring)

It's after she finally leaves your den, after you inform her that you'll be going somewhere for a while, that you finally get to something you'd been putting off for a bit. The feeling in the back of your head that let you know that you could go somewhere else.

… the last time you'd used it had been against that thing, when you'd nearly died, and the place it had taken you had helped you grow immensely.

Something that you felt you needed now, especially after that encounter with the large red dragon.

And so you triggered that feeling again before, in and instant, you were surrounded in a kaledoscope, the ground beneath you fading away as you got the feeling of mist hovereing over you. Then you felt yourself fall into a tunnel.

A thousand colours, endless smells, and a thousand sensations. All experienced by you in the split second you were in the overwhelming tunnel.

And then suddenly you were shot out into the air.
