Author's Note: This story is an alternate version of the Loud House season 1 episode: "The Novel Idea", and it will be the first Loud House father x son fiction I'll be writing/resurrecting. This story was originally written by MrRainbow149ki back in late 2019. However he deleted the story a year later and left due to so much hate he'd been receiving. It was rewritten by Crimsonsentry123, but then he also deleted it.

So since you guys missed this story so much and that there isn't much Lincoln x Lynn Sr. fiction, I decided that I should restore this story. Credit goes out to both MrRainbow149ki and Crimsonsentry123. Hope you guys are taking care of yourselves.

Chapter 1: Rainy morning

...

It was a cloudy Thursday morning in Royal Woods in the late summer. Not only that, but it's that time of the year again, time for "bring your daughter to work" day at Lynn Sr's job. And once again, the only other male Loud in the household was, without a doubt, disappointed that he couldn't visit his dad's workplace. It was like this every year, the girls got to go have fun with their father while Lincoln was either stuck at home or going to the dentist's office with his mom.

It wasn't that he didn't enjoy the time with his mom, it was just that he barely spent much time with his dad. He could barely remember when was the last time it was just him and Lynn Sr.

But little did he know, this year was going to be different.

Downstairs, Lynn Sr. had gotten his belongings ready to head to work. He was excited because today he got to take his daughters there with him, sure they could cause a ruckus half the time, but he could use the company with how he was feeling today. He wasn't really feeling like being alone, especially with those foreboding gray skies in the air to worsen his mood.

The night before, him and Rita had gotten into a little spat, a recurring argument came up that Lynn thought was long past them. Lynn didn't see why it was an issue now all of a sudden, it's not like anything had changed. "I'll have to really talk to her after I get home today." Lynn Sr. thought to himself as he grabbed his lunch from the counter and made his way to the living room.

But when he got out there, he didn't see any of his daughters waiting for him, well, save for Lynn Jr., who was watching a soccer game on the TV.

"Um Junior? Where's your sisters at? We gotta leave soon." Lynn said as he looked at his daughter.

"O-Oh... about that. We kinda decided against it this year." Lynn Jr. told him.

"W-What!? But why?" Lynn Sr. asked her, confused.

"Um, you can talk to Lori about it if you want, but basically I think this has something to do with the weather and how it sucks right now, pops." Lynn Jr. said, the girl already feeling bad about not going because of how her father looked at her right now.

"Um, alright," The Loud patriarch went upstairs and approached Lori and Leni's room. He knocked on the door and within three seconds, his eldest daughter answers the door.

"Hey sweetie, um... how come you're not downstairs?" He asked, even though he knew what her answer would be from what Lynn Jr. had told him.

"Oh, sorry dad, but we're not going. Haven't you watched the news? They're saying that it's gonna storm later on today, and we're literally that it's going to get worse. So we decided that we should stay home for safety." The blonde teen said.

"Oh come on Lori, I'm sure that the weather doesn't look that bad." Lynn Sr. replies.

As if on cue, Lisa comes out of her room with her weather machine. "Actually father, according to this device here, the chances of wind speed and heavy rain are 90%. So, it would be necessary to say that the wrath of nature is expected to occur by 1:30 PM."

"Yeah sorry daddy, there's no way I'm getting my hair all messed up in a dastardly storm." Lola says as she comes out of her room.

"But I hope that it will leave us plenty of mud." Her polar opposite twin Lana said with excitement, not much of a help for Lynn Sr.

"But girls... can't one of you at least be my company for today?" Lynn Sr. pleaded.

"Hate to be such a rain, dad," Luan joked while exiting her room, "Get it? But seriously, we all made up our minds that we're all gonna have to sit this one out."

Luna joins her. "Yeah, sorry popstar. Besides, aren't you worried about what will happen to you once the wicked storm gets severe?"

"I'll be fine girls. And... and don't worry, I... I promise I'll make a schedule to come home early." The man said, trying to hold back his disappointment. As much as he doesn't want to be the only one without a daughter on this special day, he understood that he can't force his daughters against their decisions. "And... I understand your concerns."

"We're really sorry dad, but hopefully next year will work." Lori said, trying to cheer up her father.

"Yeah... hopefully," Lynn Sr. muttered, then forced a smile as he said, "Well okay then. I... I get that. Uh, guess I'll be off to work then".

The Loud sisters all apologize and wished him safety before they went back to their rooms and closed their doors all at once.

Lynn Sr. sighed. "Well, so much for the day I was looking forward too..." He dejectedly went back downstairs to continue getting himself ready.

Unbeknownst to him, Lincoln had been eavesdropping the whole conversation, and he felt bad that his father wouldn't be taking his sisters with him. That was when an idea suddenly came to him. He knew how he could make both his father and himself happy.

It was a long-shot but Lincoln had a plan to go to his father's work with him. Then just maybe it could just be the two of them, something that rarely occurs.

Lincoln grabbed the bag he hid under his bed, the bag that luckily none of his sisters had found yet. If they did, then he'd certainly be in for a whole world of problems. Locking his door, Lincoln poured the bag's contents out onto his bed.

Putting these on was something that he'd recently discovered he really liked, Lincoln couldn't for the life of him explain why but it excited him for some reason. His sisters might not think twice if he just occasionally dressed up like this, but if they knew what he actually used for half the time.

Smirking at the outfit and wig beneath him, Lincoln started taking his shirt off.

"Well Junior, I'm gonna be off. See ya later." Lynn Sr. exited his room with his suitcase and walked past the couch where Lynn Jr. was and made his way to the door.

But as soon as he opened it, he heard someone calling out behind him.

"Hey dad. Wait up!"

Lynn turned to a very strange sight to behold.

Stood at the bottom of the steps was his son, although, not in his usual attire, or attire that was even fit for a boy. Lincoln was dressed in a blue skirt with a blue button-up top. To finish off his attire, the boy had on black high heels and a blonde wig, all of it combined gave him the appearance of a young girl.

If Lynn hadn't heard his son's voice before, he would've assumed this was just some chick. "U-Uh son? W-What's with the um... the get-up here?" Lynn Sr. asked as he pointed to the clothes Lincoln was wearing.

"W-Well uh, every year you take the girls to work with you and I'm just left here, sometimes mom will take me to her work but I never get to see yours". Lincoln said. "S-So you thought if you pretended to be a girl I'd let you come with me?" Lynn asked him.

"I mean... I can be pretty convincing right?" Lincoln asked in a girly voice, hoping to play a believable role.

"I-I... Uh, w-wow I don't. I don't know sport... this is very… irregular. W-What if someone at my work figured out you were a boy? I... I don't want you to have to deal with that type of drama." Lynn Sr. told his son, not really feeling good about this situation.

"Oh come on, please daddy? I promise that no one will find out." Lincoln begged, still using his feminine voice to persuade his father.

Lynn Sr. suddenly felt very weird after hearing his son plead with him like that, calling him daddy. But the puppy dog eyes he was making, and the fact that they didn't spend much alone time together to begin with was starting to weaken his resolve.

Lynn Jr. meanwhile was silently watching from the couch, not really knowing what to think of the situation. Sighing heavily, Lynn Sr. looked back at his son and smiled. "Alright… you can come." Lynn told him.

"Really?" Lincoln asked, his eyes lighting up at being able to follow his dad to work for once.

"Yea I'm sure. Just... keep that disguise up until we get back home okay? I can only imagine what people would think if they found out." Lynn said. The father of eleven couldn't believe he was actually allowing this to happen, but he had to admit his son looked pretty good in that outfit. "Convincing. He looks convincing in that outfit, not good. Come on Lynn." He thought to himself as he shook his head.

"Junior, tell your mother I took Lincoln with me to work. We'll be back by dinner time". Lynn said as he looked to his sporty daughter. "O-Okay dad...uh, have fun guys".

"Thanks Lynn, see ya later". Lincoln said, winking back at her as he hopped outside, his dad following soon after him. "Well that was weird. But then again it is Stinkoln, weird is kinda his thing". Lynn Jr. said as she shrugged and went back to watching the game.

Back outside, the two males of the Loud family were getting into Vanzilla, ready to head for Lynn's work. "Alright now remember, If anyone asks you're my new, adopted daughter Linka okay?" Lynn Sr, told his son while buckling his seat belt.

"Yup, sure thing daddy". Lincoln said as he brightly smiled at his dad.

And for the second time, Lynn felt that weird feeling inside him. Ignoring it, Lynn smiled back at his son and put the van in reverse. "Alright, let's head out. Hopefully that storm holds off till after we get back." Lynn Sr. commented as he took a quick look up at the gray skies.

Backing out of the driveway, Lynn put the car in drive, heading down the street towards his job. Blissfully unaware of what the rest of the day held in store for him and his son.

Author's Note: And there we have it. Now, I will be sticking close to both MrRainbow149ki and Crimsonsentry123's original plots, but I will be adding my own things to the story and changing a couple things here and there to make it my own. I hope that you all stick around to see how the rest of the story develops and any feedback is welcome, just keep it all civil.

Until next time, stay safe everyone and I'll see y'all later.
