Bobby sat in the old chair in Yuto's motel room. He was still a little shaken after witnessing the brutal murder of those demons. It was not that he cared about the demons but for the humans who had been killed in the process.

"Was it really necessary to kill them?" Bobby asked.

"Do you think they would leave them alive?" Yuto replied apathetically. " Also, one was a rapist and a junkie while the other a con man."

Bobby shuddered. Even Dean wasn't so cold when he had to kill a human being. Yuto gave him the vibes of a soulless machine.

Bobby opened a beer and drank, hoping of not thinking about it again.

"You said you knew a way to prevent the apocalypse. What is it?" Bobby asked.

"It's just a theory, but I believe there is a weapon that can destroy Lucifer's army." Yuto handed a book to Bobby. "King Arthur's sword."

"That weapon was lost centuries ago," Bobby said.

"It wasn't lost. It was sealed," Yuto said sternly. "One of the surviving knights handed it to the Lady of the Lake. She had it since the end of the Battle of Cammlan."

"That is why I say it has been lost. Not even the English branch of the Men of Letters has managed to find the lake. Do you think you can do it without any means?" Bobby asked angrily.

"I know where to look," Yuto said. "If you can find me a way to reach the UK and put me in touch with someone you trust completely, I'll do the rest."

"Assuming I do, why would you help Sam and Dean?" Bobby asked.

Yuto touched his chin and thought. Bobby's question was legitimate. He had no real reason to help thm. On reflection, he had told them that he was a killer magus in order to intimidate them a little and see their reaction. Unlike Castiel or the demons he killed in the woods, Sam and Dean were 100% human and this made them more dangerous than any other beings.

If there was a reason, it was definitely that.

"I made a promise to someone," Yuto replied. "So please let me reach the UK."

Bobby looked into Yuto's eyes. His face... his eyes was the same one he had seen on John Winchester's face the day he decided to start hunting for the yellow-eyed demon. Just like then something told him that there was nothing he could do to dissuade him.

"I have some contacts. I'll make some calls." Bobby drank all the beer and then sighed. He put on his hat and approached the door. "I want to believe in your good faith."

Yuto was neither a charitable person who would do something for free nor a good-hearted person who would spare those who asked for mercy. The continuous visions of the Holy Grail Wars and the life of King Arthur had hardened his heart, making him see the world as a cruel place that spared no one.

"My good faith..." Yuto muttered. Where was his good faith when he was using them?

Yuto closed his eyes and when he opened them again, he was in a strange place. It was a big room that was made of white marble. He was sitting on a chair, around a round table. He was surrounded by other people, all dressed in silver armour and finely woven cloaks.

"It had been a while since I hadn't had such a dream," Yuto said, crossing his arms at his chest. "This time you chose a different subject. You have replicated the round table but I wonder why Sam and Dean are sitting on the seats of Gawain and Lancelot."

The man behind him smiled. He had his eyes slightly closed and a silly smile on his face. She had long white hair that fell to the ground and wore a finely woven white cloak and long, wide dark trousers trimmed with gold accents and leather boots.

"They are like you and the people closest to their original personalities," Merlin replied. "They have lost a lot because of others."

"Are you saying I should trust them?" Yuto replied, rising from his chair and turning to Merlin. "You know that to be a magus means to be near death. Do you want to kill them?"

"Those guys are involved more than you think. They are fated to kill each other if something is not done," Merlin said, consciously involving Yuto in their situation. Now the magus could only regret having let them kill themselves or help them. "Do you know what the round table means?"

"Everyone is equal. No one is above anyone," Yuto replied.

The answer was textbook, and although Merlin could not deny its correctness, he was not totally satisfied.

"This table is not just about being equal." Merlin snapped his fingers and changed the scenery. Now they were on a terrace and there was a crowd below in which Yuto clearly saw Sam, Dean, Bobby, Rin, his parents, Mordred and the servant of the Sixth Holy Grail War. "It means to make a common front during critical moments."

"I prefer to do it alone," Yuto said with a smiling grin. "No one will have to die for me."

"Now that your eyes are open, so must be your mind. Do you not remember? Artoria and your father were happy to die for you," Merlin sighed wearily. "Take him with you."

Merlin presented a small creature resembling a squirrel with white fur and large black eyes. He was wearing a purple cape for some reason.

"Kyuu?" the little creature tilted his head slightly to one side.

"Go and see the beauties of this world instead of ruining my home's pillows," Merlin said, imitating Rin Tohsaka's sadistic smile. "The only way you can get Excalibur is to go to the Spiritual Tomb of Albion. Be careful. It's protected by the Men of Letters."

"If I remember correctly, the Tomb of Albion is unofficially controlled by the Clock Tower. Are you telling me that it is controlled by mere humans?" Yuto touched his chin. "What happened to the magicians?"

"I think they killed each other," Merlin said. "Be careful, though."

"They will end up like anyone who has previously stood in my way." Yuto looked at the pendant he was wearing but failed to mask his shame. "Is there anything else you want to tell me? Otherwise send me back."

"There is only one last thing, but it's a warning. Don't think that your arrival is without a reason." Merlin's lips moved distinctly, but Yuto got the message.

"Wait! What do you mean?!" Yuto shouted while he tried to reach Merlin. But, the landscape began to writhe; his head spun, giving him a sensation of nausea.

"What are you doing?" Bobby asked.

"I'm buying tickets for the British Museum," Yuto replied.

"What is that strange mark on your hand?" Bobby asked later.

"It's a protective spell. It should make me invisible by suppressing my magical energy," Yuto replied, while bandaging his hand with a sacred shroud.

It was supposed to be a gift, but the mark were a set of command spells and they were identical to those he had during the Sixth Holy Grail War. He was probably given it by Merlin to help him.

"Okay, I got two tickets for the day after tomorrow," Yuto said, putting his phone back in his trouser pocket. "The real problem is to avoid the eyes of the mage association."

"Don't forget the Men of Letters. They've been looking for Excalibur for ages," Bobby stated again.

"Do you think they know already?" Yuto asked.

"Oh, they do," Bobby said, nodding. "They've been following us since we departed."

"Shall I take them out?" Yuto asked. The magic circuits in his hand flashed.

"Do you want to cause an air crash?" Bobby scolded, shaking Yuto's hand. "Don't be afraid. They'll attack us as soon as we land. Rather, why are you so sure of where to go?"

"It was confirmed by a friend... if I can call him that. And what he said makes me think of something." Yuto closed his eyes briefly. "I fear the Apocalypse is the first of a bigger problem."

He was talking about Merlin, the greatest, perverted, useless and powerful magician in history. If he say something, it has to be taken seriously or the risks would be enormous.

"I know it sounds invasive, but could you tell me about Sam and Dean?" Yuto asked humbleby.

Why had Sam and Dean helped him? Could he really trust them? It was the question that was killing Yuto's mind. He was trying to figure out if he could trust them enough to help each other.

"What kind of people are they?" Yuto asked.

"They're a family. They've always been there for each other," Bobby said. "Sam and Dean lost their mother when they were very young. She died to protect Sam from the demon Azazel. Their father died not long ago. He traded his soul for Dean's life."

"I guess they see them as heroes," Yuto said, sympathizing with them because it was his situation too. "Didn't they seek revenge?"

"They did. Azazel not only killed John and Mary, but also Sam's girlfriend," Bobby replied. "And if it wasn't for John, he would have killed Dean too."

He had a new feeling that he never thought he could experience: remorse.

If he had not destroyed the holy grail that day, would he have returned to Rin? Would she have welcomed him again after apologizing? He had no way of saying it because he could not see such a result. The only thing he knew was that his actions had alienated him from everyone and everything.

"I thought I'd hardened my heart enough not to be touched by stupid sentimentality, but it seems I was wrong." Yuto turned to the window of the plane, not noticing that he was smiling genuinely for the first time. "I don't know what I can do but I will help them."

Helping someone just for the sake of it.

He didn't think he would ever do it.

A red-haired man appeared in front of him, giving Yuto a wide and warm smile.

"Damn old man..." Yuto closed his eyes. "... did you have to pass on your genes?"
