Only another chapter after this, possibly 2.
The air was tense as Adora sat in her parent's room. Sure, she'd come to terms withwhythey'd done what they did. She just didn't understand why they didit, you know? If they wanted Adora to stay, then they should've just asked. She probably would've said no, but at least she'd be more likely to return. Now? How can she guarantee the next time they come back, the ship won't be completely destroyed? She can't ask Entrapta to come every time she goes back to Eternia. Entrapta has a kingdom to rule... and whatever she has with Hordak. Never mind poor Angie. So far, she'd not seen her mom and dad in 5 months, at least, not counting the two weeks home. Sure, Adora missed a chunk of Violet's life too, but not as long as five months. So, she'd fight for them to get home to their girl.
"Do you want a drink?" Marlena stood near a small table, already pouring three cups of tea. Adora held her hand out in silence, taking the cup. Marlena sat down, crossing her legs at the ankles. "Randor will be along in a moment. Adam required him for a meeting earlier. I think it ran over slightly," Adora hummed, sitting back in the chair, fighting the urge to cross her legs. Maia had said, loudly and in her ear - mind you - to NOT do that until her scar was completely healed, even if she's fit to go home first.
"Well, like I said, you've only got ten minutes. Finn'll wake up soon and want feeding. As much as I love and have full faith in my wife, I doubt that's something she can do," Adora shifted as she took a sip of the slightly too-hot tea. "Could you not feed Finn now and then come back? Or bring him in here, so you can feed him as soon as he wakes? Even if Randor was here, I think this conversation would last longer than ten minutes," Adora raised her brow. "You've had children. Would you have disturbed their sleep?" Marlena paused. "No. I wouldn't," She agreed after a beat. Adora took a slow inhale. "But I will go and see if he's awake. If he is, go and get da-um..." She paused. Even before she fell out with her parents, calling them mom and dad was iffy at best. "Yeah. Be back here, both of you, within ten minutes. Finn's a quick feeder," Marlena stood up quickly, her chair scraping uncomfortably across the wood. "But," Adora interjected. "Catra will be with me too,"
...
Seven minutes later, Adora sat back in her parent's room, with Catra sitting in the seat to her left, and Finn drank his afternoon milk dosage. "Does breastfeeding feel weird?" Catra asked quietly. Adora hummed, pushing some of Finn's blonde tufts away from his mouth. "Um... yes and no," She said. "It's weird in that it's a tugging feel, rather than sucking, if that makes sense?" She began. Catra squinted. "Maybe," The blonde hummed once more. "The problem is though, Finn, and Violet for that matter, only ever fed from one boob at once. So one goes dead flat, and the other's ready to burst. It sucks," She began patting Finn's back softly as his drinking slowed down. "Can you not just move them?" Catra's question almost made her laugh. Adora shook her head as she pulled Finn away to switch. He immediately began to wail loudly and angrily, his tail swinging around with aggression. She lowered him back onto her right and continued rubbing his back.
"Point understood," Adora snorted. A few moments of peaceful quiet were broken by Finn pulling away with a tired whine. She brought him over her shoulder and rubbed the air out. When she glanced at Catra, she blushed. "Why're you staring at me like that?" She asked. Catra shrugged. "You're fucking gorgeous, that's why," Adora snorted. "What, covered in baby puke, greasy hair and most likely baby piss?" Catra nodded. "Yup. Even if you had babyshiton your face, you'd still be gorgeous," Adora hummed. "Truth be told, I probably have that somewhere too,"
Catra cackled.
...
"Let me make one thing clear," Catra interrupted, cutting across her wife, who shot her an indignant glare. Marlena's face adopted a slightly sour twist. "Yes, Catra?" Randor answered instead. "She," Catra pointed to her loving wife of just over two years. "Is way too nice to say this. So I will," Marlena's face twisted a little more. "If youeverwant to see Adora, or the kids, or us even comebackhere, then you won't pullanythingeven remotely sinister like this ever again," Marlen's face lost the sourness, but dropped in shame. "Not only did you risk yourentire kingdomby alerting Skeleton that Adora was here, but you also risked your children andtheirchildren... or, child, in Adam's case, but the point still stands," Catra continued. "Did you even think about what would've happened if Skeleton got hold of Freya? Or Violet? Or if Adorawasstill pregnant when she fought him? She would've lost Finn that day, guaranteed," She pushed through, ignoring the looks being sent her way from a person sitting to her right (cough cough, wife, cough, cough)
"Or, if Entrapta had fixed the ship sooner, and we'd left, how would you have felt because of the stress you caused, Adora went into labour early? She already had Finn a month early, and look what happened after that. How would we have fixed that? Adora would've died on that ship. All because you two were too emotionally constipated to use your words,"
Marlena looked to the ground, while Randor held eye contact. "Adoradiedthat day. Her heart stopped, and she began to bleed to death," Catra admitted. She'd not told Adora this, and neither did her parents know. "If that had happened on the ship, because you two rigged it, then her death would've been on your hands. And I'll never forgive you for it," She let her sentence sink in for dramatic effect, before delivering her closer (because secretly, Catraloveddrama)
"Our friends? The ones that came with us? Well, the purple engineer has a kingdom to look after, and the couple have a daughter they've not seen for five months. It would've been two, at max three, if you'd just left us alone,"
Randor reached over to grasp Marlena's hand, so Catra shifted in her chair, eyes tracing her wife's(fucking hot ass)legs as she walked around, trying to soothe Finn to sleep, bouncing him gently against her shoulder. "Our actions are regretted immensely, and they were almost immediately. We realised what we had done as soon as we had done it. But at that point, it was too late. In any case, partially the reason we reached out was to have your help in pushing back the clones," Randor paused to look at Adora's swaying body, her temper steadily getting shorter as Finn continued fussing quietly. "But She-Ra and He-Man sorted that, and so did you and your crew. So, thank you,"
Catra stood up and took Finn from Adora. "Go make peace. I've said my bit," She took over swaying a lot softer, having a fair amount more patience. Adora stood before her parents, looking every bit a warrior. "You understand that as soon as the ship is fine, and Finn's cleared to go, we're gonna go home. No delays," She left no room for begging. Marlena stepped forward. "Yes. But... will you return?" Adora shook her head. "Not until Finn's at least a year old. But you can come to us if you'd like. We might not live in a castle, but we have a big enough house. Or, we can put you in the castle. Wedolive on the grounds," Adora began mumbling to herself softly, but Catra swayed over, pumping her shoulder with her own to keep her on track.
"We'd love to come and visit. Adam is trained in the throne, so he can be temporary ruler while we journey to Etheria," Randor agreed, standing beside his wife with a warm smile. "The only thing we ask, is you let us throw you a ball before you leave," Marlena looked on hopefully. Adora wrapped her arm around Catra's waist. "Sure. I'm sure Vi would love to wear a ballgown," She looked at her own body. "And myself for that matter... I'm not entirely sure if I've changed these trousers in the last week," She winced, picking at the dark grey fabric. "Adora, my love, I wore the same nightdress for ten days after you and your brother were born. Believe me, it's comfort over style for those first few months,"
Catra didn't have the energy to say that Adora had alreadyhada child, and knew this, so she stayed quiet on the matter.
At least until: "I'm not wearing any dress though. I'dliterallyrather change Finn's nappies for all his life,"
