Raihan was rudely awoken by the sound of the door creaking.

The room was still a little dark, suggesting to him that it was the early morning. His body felt sluggish as he raised his head to try to determine the cause of such a noise, only seeing the light of the hallway through the diminishing gap as the door slowly swung closed.

"I'm sorry, did I wake you?" He heard the words as he felt fur brush against him, turning to see magenta on black and white. He slowly blinked to take in the familiar face before jumping.

"Piers- When did Blissey let you out?"

His friend gave a quiet chuckle, the colours in his vision fading ever so slightly as the door clunked closed. But Raihan could see the bright bandana was tilted down to cover the empty eye socket, probably in place of bandages. "She didn't want to let me out until noon but I pestered her and she saw no reason to keep me around without any open wounds, eh? You should see the village centre at this time in the morning, it's like a ghost town."

Raihan tilted his head, glancing at the veiled window. Even with the shutters, he could see flashes of orange peaking through. "It's the break of dawn, I think it'd be weirder if everyone was up and buzzing. You've only been in the clinic two nights, I'm surprised you're up and about."

Piers nudged a small bag towards him, allowing him to see a few dark gummies. "She just had to prescribe me some multivitamins, she was shoving these down my throat after the bleeding stopped. As long as I keep taking these, I won't end up with another deficiency."

Raihan briefly wondered if transfusions were a thing with how long medicine could otherwise take to work. "Wouldn't that be a shame? Are you… Are you able to fight again?"

"I have most of my energy back, but I'm not sure how good I'll be," He murmured, rubbing his remaining eye. "I'm not going back on my word. We're fighting together. But I might need you to lower that thing's accuracy a lot to manage the blind spot. Have you heard anything about that Roserade since we spoke yesterday?"

Raihan shook his head. "Nope, but Leon's raring to incinerate him." He nestled down once more, resting against his fur. "We won't let it happen again. Just three more days and we'll be home. Then you can go back to your glamorous punk life and I can go back to being the very best, eh?"

Piers snorted, nudging him. "I'm glad to see your ego's back. Just a little longer… How long do you think we've been gone for, now?"

He paused, wracking his brain. How long had it been? When he searched for that answer, some of those past days seemed to blend together. Days where they had full adventures, days where all they seemed to do was talk to the villagers. Then there were those days without memories… "I'm not actually sure. But there's no point worrying about it, we'll be back soon. … Have you considered writing a song about this?"

Piers tilted his head as he stared at him. "Not really, I've just been trying to work out how to explain this to Marnie. Why? Do you want me to make one?"

"It might make it more digestible. Besides… I haven't heard you sing since you got here." He ducked his head. "I know you don't have all your fancy equipment, but it would just be nice, you know?"

"Ah." The sound was flat. "You just really want me to sing for ya, don't you?" Raihan gawked at him, seeing that smirk on his face. "Don't give me that look. It's been a bit too hectic to just sit and sing, I've hardly been inspired with all that's going on. But if you really want, I'll write you a song when we get out, alright?"

Maybe he was more obvious than he thought he was. But he wouldn't dare ask for confirmation, instead he just nodded and buried back into the bed. "I'm holding you to that. We'll be visiting Yuri in the afternoon, do you want to get more rest first?"

"I'll be fine, but if you really want to get some kip, then go ahead."

There was no point arguing. If Piers was awake, Raihan was staying up with him. "I think I'm good… We should let Leon wake himself up though. Do you wanna just lie here? It's too comfy to get up." He rested against him, feeling a blanket of bliss as he curled up around him.

"Just for a bit, alright?" It was only faint but with the rising sun, Raihan could see heat glowing through Piers' fur. Was his mind going elsewhere because of Leon's words? Or had the signs always been there, only to bounce off his heavy skull?

It wasn't long however until, in spite of his affirmations, Piers drifted off. And it wasn't long after that he followed suit.

Piers and Raihan exchanged glances as they waited for Leon by the guild exit. As Raihan had predicted, he had gone straight for the bank, engaging in some cheerful chit chat with Duskull while Haunter stared at him with the gaze of a man who hadn't slept in an eternity.

"They've certainly gotten friendly," Piers murmured dryly, watching the ghost child flip in the air, most likely spilling some outrageous story like kids did. "It's going to be interesting telling Hop that Lee's adopted a child in another world."

Raihan chuckled, observing some of the exhausted guild members stop to glare at the noise pollution before dragging themselves out on their missions. "If you ever quit songwriting to become a book writer, that would be the perfect title for this whole mess. Where do you think our adventure would lie on a bestseller's list?"

The Linoone gave him a blank look. "I don't know if it'd even make it on, it's so convoluted. Least it's nearly over… If we stay any longer, I think that kid's going to end up with a broken heart."

He went quiet as he observed the two, trying to tune into the conversation. It had only been two days since they met Duskull, yet Leon's instincts were running wild. "I'm not sure it'd just be her. Lee must really be feeling homesick to be projecting this bad."

Piers glanced at him, brow furrowing. "You think Duskull reminds him of Hop? I think you might be right. This could get out of hand, eh?"

"Yep… I hope he doesn't get too attached." Raihan sighed, nudging him. "Should we get him? If we leave them to it, we might be here until night time."

"We probably should…" He squinted as in response to something Leon said, Duskull bobbed from side to side. He assumed that to be meant as her shaking her head. "Oh maybe not, I think we're going to get him back."

"Are you sure you don't want to tag along with us, Duskull? We'll be visiting some friends at the beach, or are you getting sick of it by now?"

She giggled, shaking herself again. "Oh no, I love the beach! But I want to help Haunter today~"

"I told her if she stays today, she has to miss out tomorrow or the day after, or that Flaaffy is going to kick my head in," Haunter grumbled, rubbing one of his head spikes at the thought. "I don't think there's a 'Thunder Kick' move but I wouldn't put it past him to invent one just for me." His gaze seemed a bit spacey as it lingered on Leon then flickered to his friends a short distance away. Then he turned around, floating to and back from his boxes in the back of his stall. "Ah, right, I almost forgot. Someone left this with me, she told me to give it to you three."

Piers and Raihan scurried over as Leon took the item, tilting his head. It appeared to be a polka-dot covered piece of fabric. "What on Earth is this?"

"It's a Joy Ribbon!" Duskull bobbed up and down. "It promotes experience growth just by walking. But it only works in combat or inside dungeons, we have no idea why! But I think it's a 'nerf'. Am I using that word right, big brother?"

"Yes you are, congratulations," Haunter responded dryly. "Apparently, these used to convert damage into exp. No idea why they changed it, probably because stupid Pokemon were chucking themselves into danger."

Piers furrowed his brow, staring at the unfurled ribbon. "Thank you… Who gave this to you? It's nice but a bit… Random?"

Haunter 'crossed' his hands. "I never seen one around here before so I could be wrong… I think she was what you call a 'Lilligant'." The Linoone stared at him wide-eyed. "Do you know her?"

"Not really, but a Lilligant saved me on a mission a while back," Piers murmured, cocking his head to the side. "She ran off before I could thank her… It can't be the same one, surely."

"She could be!" Duskull chirped with a tone that betrayed the fact she had no idea what they were talking about. "Maybe you have a secret admirer!"

He had the feeling it was more complicated than that, but he couldn't really think of many other alternatives. He sighed, watching Leon pack the ribbon into their bag. "I don't know about that, but I guess we should keep our eye out for her. We should be off."

"See you later!" Duskull chirped as Haunter put his resting bitch face back on, very obviously looking for potential customers. "Don't eat the sand, alright?"

Raihan chuckled as Piers gave the child a judgemental stare. "We won't. See you later!"

As the trio exited the guild, Piers grumbled. "Leon, you are very lucky Duskull said no. If she found out about Yuri and Rafaela, they would kick our heads in."

"Right. I forgot about that," Leon mumbled sheepishly, rubbing his neck. "But hey, she's a kid! The village folk might just think she has an overactive imagination!"

Even if they did, that wouldn't stop Yuri trying to Hi Jump Kick them for spilling her secret. Raihan could feel himself shuddering just thinking about it. Between Yuri and Rafaela, that was all of their weaknesses covered. "Come on, let's not keep them waiting."

Piers let Raihan ramble away as he gave Yuri and Rafaela the breakdown, the couple sat on their side of the table with drastically different yet identically focused expressions. Rafaela held the same awe a child would have upon being told of an amazing adventure, eyes sparkling as she jumped in to ask questions, allowing Raihan to build further and further on the info dump. Yuri just nodded along but her eyes were eagle-sharp, not even bothering to look away to see her tea had been stirred to perfection five minutes ago. It was as though she was having a one-sided staring competition with him.

He took a glance at Leon, seeing his claws in danger of fusing with the table as the history of dynamaxing got closer to the present day. Yuri had certainly gotten enough information on the concept of the Darkest Day, but Piers felt like he would get a Blaze Kick to the gut if he tried to disrupt the shift to the modern event, back when Chairman Rose back home had fucked around and found out. "Are you alright, Lee?"

"I will be," he murmured, tail flame flickering weakly. "Why does it still bother me? We're about to scrap with Eternatus, I shouldn't be cowering at the mention of him."

Piers awkwardly patted his back, Leon's cape tickling his paw as he did so. "It's only natural, he really fucked you up. But you're taking care of that other bastard, aren't you? We're thrashing Eternatus and you can scorch the bastard who took my eye if he ever comes near us again."

"That's the plan." Leon took a shaky breath. "What are the chances we'll be dealing with Everade before we go? We'll be fighting Eternatus in 2 days. I might not even be able to hold up my end of the bargain."

"Then you can take us out for a bullshit-free night of drinking when we get back, eh?" Piers' fur bristled. "Unless Lunala decides she wants something else from us as soon as she takes us home."

"If she does, then she can ask some other poor sods, I like it here but not enough to agree to get trapped here for another month," Leon grumbled, trying to force himself not to hone onto the ramble as he heard his name mentioned. "Think if we caught an ultra beast on our end, we could freely travel?"

Piers tilted his head, frowning. "I'm not sure, I feel like that ultra beast would need to have directions to this world too. Besides, we would probably spawn with human bodies. Not a good idea."

"Balls." Leon flashed a sheepish grin as Rafaela stared at him curiously. "Expression of speech."

"You humans fascinate me," Rafaela said with a giggle, grinning and turning to her wife. "What does that one mean, Yuri?"

"It's another way of saying 'fuck'," she deadpanned, cocking her head. "What are you two on about? Getting home?"

Piers nodded. "We're wondering how likely it is that Lunala would drag us back if more bullshit happened."

Yuri frowned, claw resting against her jaw. "I wouldn't know that, I don't think any of the heroes wanted to go home in the end. We all just kinda liked it here too much, I suppose. I imagine if a new disaster occurred, the next heroes would be tailor-picked for it. Your team composite wouldn't be very helpful if Groudon and Kyogre went amok, after all."

"That makes sense… I think… You didn't have to fight Kyogre, did you?"

Rafaela giggled as Yuri droned. "Nah, we challenged him out of our own boredom. Still got my ass handed to me until I learnt Thunder Punch and the wonder of spamming orbs."

She cracked her knuckles, the sound making the trio wince.

"Anyhow, now I know the rundown about Eternatus… You guys want to get stronger, right? I'm a big believer in hard work but with the deadline, we might need to cheat a little. Do you have any hard-hitting super moves, Piers?"

He stared at her. "Any what?"

"She means super effective moves," Rafaela chirped. "You need to nail this thing with a Ground, Ice or Psychic move. Do you have any of those?"

He shook his head. "I don't think I can learn any Psychic moves and I'm pretty sure I can only learn special Ice moves. You don't happen to have any Dig TMs around, do you?"

"Nope but I know something better!" Rafaela balled her fists up, her smile positively gleaming. "I can teach you how to learn Stomping Tantrum! But you'll have to work all day to perfect it!"

"Yeah, we don't have a professional move tutor in the village, sadly," Yuri droned. "Usually you could just pay extortionate prices to instantly learn moves, but you'll have to do it the broke way. We only have a few golden seeds but that should be enough for all of you to get up 5 levels. Do you have any idea what you are right now?"

The lads looked at each other puzzled. "I have no idea, we were level 20 a few days ago but I don't think getting beaten up by Everade gave us any experience points," Raihan mumbled sheepishly. "Is there any way to check for certain?"

Yuri stared them down, piercing eyes skewering them. Leon's tail flame weakened and Piers' fur prickled. "Yeah, you're not getting to level 30 just with seeds. You two are only about level 23… You're about level 24 though, Raihan."

He assumed that was from sparring with his friends before and after the havoc. "Least we'll get close, but I don't think that's good enough. Lunala was assuming all three of us would take him on. Do you think this could get me another five levels higher by then?" He pulled the joy ribbon out of the bag, dropping it on the table. Yuri stared at it, tilting her head.

"I'm not sure about a full five levels, but if you wear it while sparring, you might get a couple of levels up. How about this? You and Leon can train with me. Rafaela can teach Piers Stomping Tantrum then we might be able to catch him up tomorrow. Does this sound fair to you three?"

"That sounds great!" Leon responded with a bright grin, positively gleaming. "The sooner I become a Charizard, the better!"

Piers briefly pondered whether they would even be around long enough to evolve a second time, or for Raihan to even hit his first evolution. Hopefully not, but with their luck, their fight with Eternatus would be postponed by a Giratina attack. He would have the type advantage, but that wasn't much. "I suppose I could cheese Stomping Tantrum by intentionally missing moves."

"I don't think it works like that," Rafaela said with a giggle, her eyes wandering. They fixated on the window and she tilted her head, producing a sound that was probably supposed to be a whistle yet sounded more like gurgling. "Oh hey, that's a very strange looking Crobat!"

The heat in the room dropped with her words as Yuri and Leon both scrambled to look, Raihan glaring at the back of their heads now blocking his view. Piers sighed and jumped onto his shell, using the added height to peer through the tiny gap left. His tongue rolled out of his mouth and Leon barked. "That's Lunala!"

"Lunala? What on Earth is she doing here?" Raihan snapped, any attempt of boosting himself up foiled by his friend on his back. "We're not supposed to see her for another few days!"

"I suppose she either got bored or something happened," Piers murmured, crossing the digits of his paws. "Let's hope it's the former… Are you alright, Yuri?"

The Blaziken had become rigid, her gaze threatening to burn through the glass window. "I'm just fine… We won't be if she's come for a fight though. I thought random Psychic types would stop coming to challenge us after Mewtwo got bored!"

Raihan grunted as Piers hopped off him. "Lunala doesn't know who you are, does she? She didn't seem to know where any of the heroes were when we met."

"She doesn't and I hope it stays that way," Yuri grumbled, clenching her fist. "We dropped the radar years ago, but Psychic types are a bit harder to trick when you're face to face. Can you three go and deal with her? Blow our cover and you're getting Hi Jump Kicked to the moon."

The trio gave swift nods as Leon dared to ask. "How does no one here know who you are, anyway? You're like one of five Pokemon we've met with an actual name, that has to make folk suspicious."

"I'm going by a different name than I did in the old days, that's how." She sighed, lowering her voice as Lunala stared glancing around the beach. "My actual name's Yuriel."

Raihan cocked his head. "Isn't that like one syllable's difference? How does nobody realise?"

"Because it turns out whether Pokemon or human, people are more stupid than they seem. Plus everybody tends to think that the Torchic hero was a guy. At least it's better than all the historians saying me and Raffe are very good friends," she deadpanned, prompting Rafaela to giggle.

"We're happy in retirement, we prefer to keep it that way. Please handle Lunala, Ghost types are a nightmare to spar."

They gave in and relented to their fates.

A light breeze hit them as they left the cabin, observing the bored-looking legendary batting her wings. Patience did not improve with age, apparently.

"Uh, hey! Lunala!"

In response to Leon's shout, she turned to look at them, a peaceful smile on her face. "Oh, there you are. I could sense you three around here but couldn't see you. I assume you've made friends with the locals." She nodded her head towards the beachside home. "Unless you managed to earn enough to pay rent, that is."

"Nah, we're staying at the guild. We don't have to pay to live there. Just help folk out in return," Raihan chirped. He tilted his head. "What are you doing here, by the way? Did something happen?"

"I'm just here to check how you three are doing." She frowned, narrowing her eyes. "You don't seem to have gotten much stronger since the last we met. You're facing Eternatus in a few days, remember?"

"Sorry, we ran into a bastard Roserade during a mission and he kind of threw our whole plan out," Leon mumbled, glancing at Piers as he fidgeted with his bandana-turned-eyepatch. "We're lucky to be alive, he completely trashed us!"

"Stupid Everade," Piers growled, though it ended as a whimper as he found himself taking a few steps back. "I only got out of the clinic first morning, sorry we're not meeting expectations but we almost died."

Lunala stared at them for a few silent seconds, expression frozen. Then she crossed her arms, tilting her gaze downwards. "I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't think you'd get mixed in with him."

"Wait, do you know him?" Raihan questioned, watching her shake her head.

"Not much but unfortunately enough. Legendaries don't deal with the malice of common mons, he was just an ordinary low-life we'd let the guild societies deal with. But I heard on the wind that he started awakening power spots."

"And you didn't think to warn us about him? He was carrying around a wishing star, he might be working with Eternatus!" Piers snapped, springing forward only for Leon to stick his leg out.

Lunala watched him faceplant, snorting. "I didn't warn you about him because I didn't know he was back in the Grass Continent. I don't know how he got that thing, but I do know that he isn't working for Eternatus." The disgruntled badger stared up at her. "You three know that wishing stars are part of Eternatus' body. Eternatus does not give those things away willingly, Everade probably took advantage of his weakened state. We're unlucky that he survived to join the chaos. But he's not your priority right now. Eternatus is. Somebody else will take him down if you don't do it first. If anything, it's helping us that someone's going around soaking up dynamax energy. It means Eternatus will only take longer to regain it."

Leon scowled, crossing his arms. "I don't like that you're acting like it's a good thing we have a sociopath running around free, but I get it. We need to focus on Eternatus. The guild has the wishing star now so unless Everade has a stockpile, he's probably not going around dynamaxing anymore."

"We're about to start training anyhow." Piers yawned, fur bristling as he stretched. "It'll be hell, but I think we'll make it. The fight would be a lot easier if you joined us, you know? Two level 30s against a legendary dragon is cutting it close."

"Sorry, I can't. I'm on doctor's orders not to pick fights until I've finished recovering." She shrugged. "You'd think a Poison type wouldn't maul a Psychic type too bad but those scratches on my back are still there and it's been a good while. I suppose I might be allergic."

Piers and Raihan exchanged puzzled glances. "That's certainly inconvenient," Piers murmured. They watched as Leon curiously skirted behind Lunala, the bat seemingly oblivious. He pulled a face then nodded at them. "Are you sure you're a legendary?"

Lunala huffed. "Of course, but we're not infallible. We may be powerful, but we can grow out of practice too. How else do you think the heroes were able to quell my peers?"

Clearly humans-turned-Pokemon were stronger than even legends, but Piers felt like he would get a Moonblast to the face if he voiced that. "Alright then, if you don't need us, then we'll be starting our training."

"You two should go ahead, I need to talk to Raihan."

Raihan gawked at her. "What- Why?"

"Because I said so." Her eyes glowed and his friends' jaws dropped as he started levitating, squawking as he wriggled in the air. "Calm down, I'll bring you back here soon. We need some privacy."

Leon and Piers stared after them as Lunala took off, dragging Raihan away with her. He immediately averted his eyes as they travelled over the ocean, towards a small piece of land a fair distance away. He grunted as Lunala dropped him on the sand, staring across to see his friends looking like ants as Yuri and Rafaela slipped out, starting their training. "Did we really have to go this far away?"

"Not really, but I like to be dramatic." Her wings draped around her like a cape, her eyes cold. "Don't look so terrified, I'm not here to drag you into anything new. This is just something it'd be awkward to talk to your friends about. Now shut your mouth and listen."

He clamped shut and nodded, watching as she paced around the small island. It was a very strange piece of land, he could see the start and end of it. It was barren, not the kind of place a Pokemon would bother to make their home. For about a minute, Lunala didn't say a word, looking more like she was tongue tied. But as he opened his mouth, she finally spat it out.

"Your case is a strange one amongst heroes. Hero/Partner sets usually consist of one human and one native Pokemon. What else do you think is different about your situation?"

He tilted his head, gazing past her to his friends, observing that they had immediately gotten to work. Whatever Piers was doing right now looked rather silly compared to Leon's task, the latter blasting draconic flames at Yuri as Piers instead seemed to be mimicking Rafaela in jumping. A lot. "Well, there are three of us. And we're all heroes in this case, right?" Her brow creased and he tilted his head. "We are, right? That's what you have been calling us."

"It's a bit more complicated than that. 'Hero' is used for any human that becomes a Pokemon, but in truth, the hero is someone who takes on the burden of our world. Every one of our heroes has been beaten down by fate, it is a horrible position to gift someone, in truth. But someone has to take on that destiny." She sighed, brow creasing as she ceased her floating, resting on the sand. "When I chose you three, I thought your fates would be equal. I was wrong. In your case, it isn't three heroes after all. I think you know who I'm talking about."

Raihan went silent, staring across the ocean. Even with the distance he could see a flash of magenta against monochrome, stomach churning as the past few days returned to him. All the blood and tears, only for them to seemingly be magically forgotten as he resigned to his fate. "Piers. Are you saying it's going to get worse for him?"

"I know it is." Her voice was flat, expression unyielding. "It's a rather peculiar case. You're the leader, you're made to counter Eternatus. But he's the one getting knocked around."

He didn't have to think too deep to realise why. That Power Whip had been for him, after all. "No. It isn't strange or 'peculiar' at all. He's playing hero to protect me. But if he keeps at it…"

"He'll meet a hero's fate." Lunala rested her head against her wing. "Leon learnt his lesson in your human lives, correct? If you're lucky, Piers has learnt his too, now. Otherwise, well… I don't think I need to spell it out."

Raihan went quiet, pondering. There was no point feeling guilty for the fact he was still alive, or to wallow in hopelessness when reason had been pushed back into his life. "I'll just have to pay him back. If he's going to play hero, I'm going to do the same. We're going back home together no matter what it takes."

"That's the spirit," Lunala hummed, though he couldn't help but notice her eyes were glossy, as though lost in another world. Did she have faith in them? They would just have to prove themselves worthy. "Just don't get yourself killed. The world needs you."

The silence returned for a moment, Raihan glimpsing her scars as she glanced across the sea. Somehow, they looked worse than the last time he had seen them, the skin around the tears in her wings discoloured as though infected. At least the crack in her crest was diminished, even if it didn't look completely healed. "Eternatus really did a number on you, didn't he?"

She stared at him, tilting her head. "'Did a number'? Oh, is that slang? I assume you mean 'he beat the shit out of me'." At his sheepish expression, she gave a quiet laugh. "You should have seen what I did to him. He can recover faster than me because his power is buried in the world around us, but if he did so too quickly, he would go out of control. At least the brute has some sense." She sighed, expression falling again. "But not enough sense to stand down. The dynamax energy is destroying our land, we might not even have it anymore if we don't stop him... This world is too beautiful to fall into ruin again."

As he gazed at her, she cleared her throat and rose to the sky. He yelped as her psychic energy snared him, lifting him up.

"Enough slacking, you need to get to work. You won't be trekking through a mystery dungeon to fight Eternatus so you have to be prepared. Don't embarrass me, alright?"

She did not spare him from his own embarrassment however as she tossed him onto the beach, Piers and Leon gawking at Raihan as he struggled to get his head out of the sand. "What the hell was that?"

Lunala ignored Leon's squawk with a giggle, spinning around. "You three have to get strong now, okay? I'll pick you up here the day after tomorrow."

They stared after her as Raihan fought to free himself, Yuri letting out a sigh of relief watching the legendary disappear. "Thank Arceus, she didn't notice us." Hearing muffled shouts, she sighed and grabbed one of Raihan's flailing legs, pulling him out. "Hey come on, you're a Trapinch! You could have eaten your way out of that!"

"Says you, there was way too much sand!" He spat some of the remnants out, shooting a glare at his friends as they started chuckling away. "Hey, stop laughing! We need to get a move on!"

Leon rolled his eyes and returned to blasting fire out of his mouth, Yuri swiftly getting back into the routine of dodging them. Watching Rafaela wave at him, Piers caught Raihan's ear in passing with a murmur. "What were you talking about?"

Just the fact Lunala had dragged him away in the first place, he didn't know if he had the authority to mention it. Instead he carefully controlled his voice, whispering. "She wanted to know we were ready. It's going to be dangerous. Don't push yourself, alright? I'll have your back."

Piers gazed at him then chuckled, lightly knocking against him as he returned to his training. "We have each other's backs. We'll be home soon, don't worry about it. Now hurry up, Yuri looks pissed."

"Right." He ignored his friend's little smirk as the statement came out more like a whimper, scurrying to Yuri and Leon.

Crisis averted. The surprise visit from Lunala didn't turn into a Blaziken choking him out. His mind lingered on her even as he got to work, however. Somehow it felt like he had learnt so much about her, yet so little.
