Running away

Author's note: Hi guys how are you?

I've been seeing you for a long time.

I have written some things, but not fanfics. I decided to bring one of my side stories into our Resident Evil universe. It's a historical love story, late 19th century.

We will see some romantic conflicts with our favorite characters: Jill, Leon, Wesker, Ada, among others.

I hope you like the conflicts and I would be very happy to hear from you.

For the ones who don't know me. I'm Shantty and I love writing different stories with Jill as our main character in different situations and universes. I'm not a native speaker, so I try to review my texts, but anyway you may find some mistakes or strange expressions. I hope you understand that.

Thanks for reading. Xoxo

Chapter 1

Jill realizes she's shaking, but not with excitement. She can't define if she's afraid or if it's repulse.

"Don't be afraid, girl. Come closer." Wesker says while he taps the sofa. "It's the third time we met, you should be more relaxed by now."

"I'm sorry, sir. I'm not comfortable with us being alone here. As I told you, my brother isn't in now."

"Oh, don't worry about it. I'm a senator, I'm above all suspicions. Your reputation is totally safe with me." He smirks.

"What are your intentions, sir?"

"They are the best ones. I'm courting you because I plan to marry you."

"Why me? We hardly know each other…" She opens her mouth surprised.

"I know you must be flattered. After all, I'm a senator." He smiles "Indeed I have a lot of options. But I'm sure you understand you have an angelic beauty. I really like your innocent eyes along with your strong personality."

"Oh no! I have friends who also have innocent eyes. That's not my exclusive attribute."

"You are one of a kind, kid. I've realized that you're not afraid of anything."

"Exactly, I'm a kid. I'm not supposed to get married by now."

"You are already 16. You are on point. It's totally normal in our society."

His words make her feel disgusted. She was never interested in her friends from school who were her age. How would she rather get married to a man who was at least ten years older than her? And specially without love.

"I know girls want to get married by my age, but I want to study and learn something before I get married."

"You are not being sensible. Why would mind learning anything when you're marrying a senator. You'll be able to keep on spending my money to get prettier for me." He chuckles. "All you'll ever have to do is get prettier for me and give birth to my children. I'm offering you the best life possible. In case you're not patient with kids, we can hire people to do all the job and you can travel with me."

He tries to hold her hand again, but she pulls her hand back.

"I'll be the best husband to give you all you want. I just want this princess by my side."

"I'm flattered, sir."

"I know."

"But I'm afraid I must decline your offer." She sounds determined. "You're being too generous with your words and offers. But that's not how I picture my life."

"You want to marry a pauper and work hard not to starve to death in a country cabin? You know that's most of the girls' fate"

"No! I must be honest, I don't have marriage in mind right now. I'm still a child inside and I'm fine with that." She takes a deep breath before continuying. "My parents passed away last year because of the flu. And my mother asked my brother to promise her that he would not sell me for a marriage of convenience."

"Hmm?"

"And my brother is a good man. He's strict, but he's not a bad person. He still allows me to be a child."

"Yet he allowed me to court you, kid. He knows you'll never have a better offer."

"Probably, sir. But he'll respect me when I say I don't want to get married."

"You are not thinking straight, Jill."

Wesker bends down to kiss her lips.

She gets scared and immediately place both of her hands on his chest and push him away.

"So you can be fierce." He says.

"I'm sorry, sir. I'm sure my brother allowed you to court me because you were respectful before."

"You get more and more interesting... An angelic face with some anger."

"There's nothing funny about it."

"I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave."

"Whoa! A young girl that is able to reject and now kick out the senator?" He laughs "Stop being stupid. I'll forget everything you just said and I'll give you one more chance to be smart. Will you marry me?"

She gets tired of being polite when he's being so obnoxious.

"I really prefer to marry a kind and pauper man than any stupid rich one."

"You are a woman and you really believe you can boss yourself?" He narrows his eyes at her.

"The only thing I believe right now is that You are being unpleasant and you should go, sir."

"You're a woman. Your words have no power. Just because you are as beautiful as you are petulant, I'll teach you a lesson now."

He grips her waist tightly when kissing her neck.

She tries to push him away, but he's too strong. She feels herself powerless and terrified.

When the door is open and he finally lets her go, she sees he torned her dress strap.

"What's going on here?" Francesco enters the living room.

"Thank God you're home, Francesco."

"I'm sorry I crossed a line, mr Valentine."

She steps away from the senator.

"I know I dishonored your sister, but we are young, full of life. And you don't need to worry. I'm ready to marry her next week, in case she's already pregnant."

"Pregnant? Are you insane?" She opens her mouth in disbelief. "Nothing happened, Francesco. You have my word."

But Wesker steps in front of Francesco.

"Francesco. She's naive, she probably doesn't understand the meaning of what we just did."

"I don't care if you are senator, I will kill you..."

Francesco was ready to punch Wesker when he places both of his hands up in order to protect himself.

"Wait. You don't have too."

Wesker then gets his hand into his pocket and places a diamond ring on the center table.

"Here's my family ring, I'm going to talk to Father Ron and we'll get married next week. If she's pregnant, nobody will notice that in time." Wesker ignores Jill complaining and keep talking. "Probably people will start talking about the fact that we were alone for a long time, so the wedding news will save her reputation."

"You can't be serious. I don't want that. Nothing happened."

She's yelling at the senator when he leaves the house and her brother hold her back.

"Let him go, Jill. We need to talk."

"I have nothing to say, except that this seemed like a trap and you fell for it."

"Jill, I was your age not long ago, I understand we're curious sometimes."

"I love Melinda, but we married because we were doing these little games... I also had another girlfriend before her and we had serious consequences, so I don't want that to happen to you."

"It's different, I didn't do any kind of games."
Jill clenches her fists

Francesco points out at her dress strap.

"Either you are too afraid to tell me the truth or you really don't understand what you just did. Now we have to do the best for you, use this ring."

"Go to hell! I'll never use it."

She realizes that she's in the hardest position of her life. She runs to her bedroom and lies on her stomach in tears.

"I just wanted to be a child. Why, God, why?"
