The passenger seat was not high up but Rick still lent Michonne a helping hand as she stepped out of his vehicle and onto the dusty terrain of his nursery. The two did not let go of each other as they walked toward a group of plants.

"So, Michonne. What type of plant are you looking for?"

She smiled. "I'm not sure. Preferably something easy to take care of since I'm not home too much."

"Something low maintenance. Gotcha. Follow me."

"These right here are my vegetable plants. Not that interesting. Come this way." Arms still linked, he led her to another section. "These are my drift roses. I've got peach, apricot, coral, and lemon as you can see." Michonne adored the colors, but did not like the flower itself. She didn't enjoy the style of it, nor the smell.

"Very pretty."

"They're low maintenance, lot of folks use em' in their flower beds out front of their houses. Way over there to the right we got cactuses. Also low maintenance."

"Very cool."

"Thank you."

Michonne scanned her eyes, stopping as something bright purple caught her eye. "Hey. Are these hydrangeas?"

"Sure are. You like em?"

Tears welled up in Michonne's eyes and she was praying that Rick would not notice. "Yeah.", she said shakily.

He noticed. "Are you okay?", he asked worriedly. The sight of her tears caused a tightening in his chest. "What is it, Michonne?"

"I just- I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry." He unlinked their arms, pressing his left hand to her back and rubbing it gently with his thumb. "What's wrong?"

Michonne wiped her eyes, fighting back her tears as best she could. "It's just... hydrangeas remind me of my mom. She died last year. And these were her favorite flowers."

"Oh. I'm real sorry."

"It's okay." Michonne stepped closer to him, resting her head in the crook of his neck.

Rick continued stroking her back. "You know... I lost my father a few years back, too. This was his nursery."

"Rick, I'm sorry."

"No. Don't be. I just wanted you to know I get it. I completely get it."

"Thank you." She tilted her head up, desperate to stare into his eyes.

He returned her gaze, wanting to kiss her so very badly. She was so hypnotic to him, he just loved every single thing abough her. Her flawless, glistening skin. Her big brown eyes. Her lips. He quickly turned his head away before he got carried away. There would be a time to kiss her, but now was not it. He did not wish to possibly take advantage of her in a vulnerable moment like this. "Well. How bout we continue the tour?"

Michonne interlocked her fingers with his. "Absolutely." She didn't really need to see more, her heart was dead set on the hydrangeas. She wanted to learn everything about Rick, including the diverse groups of plants he sold at his place of business. And not only that but she didn't want the night with him to end. Her heart was dead set on him, too.

They calmly strolled through the multiple sections of plants as Rick introduced her to gorgeous flowers of all different shapes, colors, and scents. They had his office's porch light, a heavy duty flashlight and the starry night sky to lighten their path. Rick made certain to not only specify every non vegetable or non fruit plant he had, but list off a fun fact about em, too. He wanted as much time with Michonne as he was able to get.

"Well, whaddya think?"

"I think you've got yourself a very nice business. Everything looks really marvelous, Rick. It's all so beautiful."

"Thank you. Is there any one in particular you'd like to take with you?"

"I would love a hydrangea."

"Hydrangea it is. What color do you want?"

"Purple. That's my favorite color."

"Hmm. Noted. Lemme grab that real quick for you. I'll put it in the bed of my truck. You go get in." She did as he said and sat herself in the passenger seat. The truck gently shook as Rick placed the flower down. He hopped in, smiling as he saw Michonne's face again. He held Michonne's hand has he drove her back to her lounge. He killed the ignition, upset that it was time to part ways.

"Oh my God. I cannot believe it's 5am already." She rubbed her eyes exhaustedly. "I'm gonna be exhausted tomorrow. I've gotta be up for 7:30. I have to relieve my babysitter so she can make it to school on time."

"Oh, shit. I'm sorry for keeping you so late."

"Don't be. I had an amazing time. And thank you for the plant."

"Of course."

"My wallet is in my car. How much do I owe you?"

"Nothing. It's on the house. Consider it a welcome to the neighborhood gift."

Michonne giggled. "You sure?"

"Absolutely." He giggled with her. "And you know... maybe I could come over and show you the perfect spot for your plant. It's very important for the plant's health." He was half joking, half serious. It wasn't really the plant he was worried about.

Michonne smirked. "Okay, Grimes." A loose curl was hanging from his forehead. She gently moved it out of his face before reaching for the door handle. "I'll drive this time."
