Chapter 10: Drunks and Dragons
Eventually, Arissa managed to skin the dead kangaroos Ichi had brought from his hunt. She had to searched up on YouTube on how to skin an animal before using its meat for cooking. Recalling from an early era of university, she remembered the dishes that were made by the student counsel when she was an undergrad.
Too bad she doesn't have a meat grinder if she wanted to make mince meat for burgers.
While she was skinning, Ichi was happily 'cleaning up' the blood and furs that were on the floor. Then again, a dragon like him could eat almost anything. If those teeth could cut through metal, God forbid if anyone A to get onto his bad side.
"Are you alright?" she asked, finally washing her hand that was covered in kangaroo blood. Ichi lets out a low warble that she associated with content. ::I am well, Arissa. I can't understand why you would want to be cooped up here when the world is out there. Even if this planet is too small for my liking...::
Arissa rolled her eyes. Of course he would say that! After all, how many planets and galaxies have he conquered with his brothers. However, there was some truth to his words. Since her marriage with Vinn, she hardly left the house unless Vinn tells her to follow him. She couldn't remember the last time she had ever ventured out for her own leisure.
After marriage, she lost contact of her friends, family already given her away so she can't exactly move back, and now...
"Going out does feel nice," she murmured softly. A stir within her belly felt like the baby agreed with her. The former titan went over to her, his spiked tail swept across her leg. Never would she thought that no words were needed when she was around him.
With Vinn, she had to explain herself multiple times, more so than when she had caused her parents to scold her during her childhood.
::Do you know where to go?:: Ichi asked, his eyes held curiosity that was almost adorable for an intimidating space dragon. Arissa opened Google Maps on her phone and showed him the location of where they were and directions to the nearest train station. She figured they could at least go into town since it was only 20 minutes away via a train.
But Ichi's expression changed to discomfort. ::Wouldn't it be painful for you to walk all the way with the little one?:: he asked, nudging her belly slightly with his snout. The baby doesn't thrash a lot around him compared to Vinn.
"It's going to be hard for you too, Ichi," Arissa pointed out. "I don't think people are going to be happy with a dragon in broad daylight. Unless..."
::I'm listening.::
Arissa waddled her way to the bedroom and rummaged what was inside of the wardrobe. For someone with a lot of clothes, Vinn was very minimal with his selection. Some of the nicer coats and sweaters were gifts from his side of the family. One of them happened to be a nice poncho in brown-orange with red stripes. Taking the poncho out, she held it out in front of the golden dragon.
"It's not much but I-I think you would fit with your wings," she stated, a small blush formed on her face. Never had she felt this giddy around someone. Even with Vinn, she was swept off her feet and at best, being shy about it.
Ichi sniffed at the poncho before sneezing. ::It looks odd,:: he remarked with a shake of his head. ::But if this doesn't draw attention, then I shall take it. Now in terms of going there...::
...
'So this is a train,' Ghidorah thought to himself, ignoring the discomfort of clothing that he had to wear. So far, no one stared at him and he kept his tail hidden underneath the material Arissa called a 'poncho'. Why do humans have so many layers? It was more troublesome than having his brothers attached to the same body!
He and Arissa were sitting inside of a train to travel to the city. Since Arissa was pregnant, she sat on one of the priority seats, which the golden dragon found amusing. How they got themselves to the train station was because of Ghidorah's flight and they landed at a secluded spot. Of course, Arissa purchased tickets for the both of them before boarding the strange locomotive.
Then again, the entire species on this planet were nothing more than amusements.
If Ni were here, he would have snapped up at a few humans who were talking loudly, much to everyone's discomfort. San on the other talon, would be nosing his snout to everything that he finds interesting. Sometimes, his curiosity could cross certain boundaries that even the fat lizard with blue spikes wouldn't.
If he wanted to talk with Arissa, he had to move his move to synch with his telepathic speech. Usually, his direct communication would be with the little woman, but now that they were in public with others, he will have to open his communications system.
Of course, a gravity beam would be a second option...
On one occasion, a child who was tottering around the train approached him. He only lets out a small snort of contempt. What sort of parent would let their child wander freely without supervision? The idea of such neglect and misconduct fascinated him about all of these creatures on board with him.
Maybe his shrunken size was giving him a valuable insight to analyse the situation before making the next move.
"Ichi," Arissa tapped him on his wing. Leaning his head down, she whispered into his earhole: "I don't know if I can do this...what if I messed up or can't talk to people again?"
He blinked at the young woman's self-doubt. As much as he nipped and puts San in his place, Ghidorah would NEVER demean him to the point he doubted himself. Ni would have bitten his head off if he head done that.
::If you can talk to me,:: he began with a reptilian smile, moving his mouth a little, ::then you can talk to others. After all, you humans are social creatures, even when isolated.::
He was pleased with himself, much to other passengers who stared at him on such a blunt statement. Then again, other kaijus and titans have interesting reactions when he presented himself with his sheer power. Arissa stroke his wing, resisting the urge to let out a pleasurable rumble within him.
Eventually, they got off at the station that was underground while the city was above. Walking on two legs was a lot harder than he imagined, but if he were to blend it, Ghidorah would have to bear with it. With Arissa's condition, they walked to the elevator since it would be easier for them until...
"Oi! Oi, bitch! Come 'ere and talk to me!" a loud voice hollered at their direction. Immediately, Ghidorah steered her away so that they could reach the elevator in time. When they stepped inside, Arissa jammed the button with her thumb to close on the man who was hobbling after them.
Not even at close proximity, Ichi could smell his foul scent that reeked of vomit, urine and odour from the lack of bathing for approximately six months. He had learnt about human hygiene and not bathing could be a sign of mental illness.
None of them said anything until they stepped outside into the bright daylight of the city. Arissa's expression was filled with wonder. Ghidorah imagined her mate must have deprived her of such enrichments.
::So where are we going?:: he asked, trying to break the tensed silence. Arissa was about to answer when another loud-mouthed male was mumbling something incoherent at them. Now, Ghidorah found these sad creatures amusing, he drew the line when he grabbed the young woman by the hair.
With a whip that cracked like thunder, Ghidorah's spiked tail swung across the man and this caused a few passerby to stop in their tracks. Arissa whispered into his ear hole: "Ichi, let's go. I think the guy just learnt his lesson."
He was hesitant because as much as he would love to torture that sorry excuse of a fleshbag, Arissa's safety was his priority. Since when was he this soft?
Reluctantly, he complied and the both of them made their way to the city centre and sat on the bench. Arissa surprised him by pecking him on the cheek. "Thanks for saving me, back there. Sometimes, drunks do crazy things."
Ghidorah lets out a soft rumble. He nuzzled her before giving the bump from her belly the same treatment. ::Hope you and the little one are safe.::
Arissa giggled, and then pointed to a stall that was selling some kind of fruit concoction. "I think I'm going to buy myself something. I'll let you have a taste, okay?"
The golden dragon wanted to laugh but then he would blow his cover. While she was ordering her snack, he decided to kill some time by weaving through the alleyway for some unexpected prey.
And by prey, a few washed ups that seemed to cause disturbances. Well, not for long!
Well, you can't change some things from Ghidorah. Then again, there will be plenty of that in the future ;)
I sometimes wonder if the baby will know who their father is once they're born
