Chapter Fourteen: Safe and Sound
Amara and Bakari stood beneath their tree, worry etched across their faces. They had been waiting anxiously for their children to return. The sound of approaching footsteps made them look up, and their relief was instant as they saw The Lion Guard arriving with Bongo, Bobo, and Asha.
Amara: *sighs in relief* "Oh, thank goodness, you're all safe." She sighed, rushing forward.
Bongo and Bobo, now awake, climbed off Fuli's back and ran into their parents' arms, hugging them tightly.
Bakari: "We've heard about the floodwaters. Thank you for saving them, Lion Guard." He said, his voice filled with gratitude.
Kion: "Actually, they saved each other." He shook his head with a small smile.
Amara: "Really? They did?" She blinked in surprise.
Bongo: "Yeah, I saved Asha from going over a waterfall." He beamed proudly.
Bobo: "We both saved her." He added.
Bakari: "Wow, we're both so proud of you." His chest swelled with pride.
Amara: "Thank you for being such good older brothers to Asha." She smiled warmly.
Bongo: "Of course." He grinned.
Bobo: "We love our little sister." He nodded.
Bakari: "Heh. Well then, time to say goodnight to The Lion Guard." He gave a soft chuckle and said.
Bongo and Bobo: "Goodnight!" They turned to their friends.
Kion, Bunga, Fuli, Ono, and Beshte: "Goodnight!" They replied in unison.
Fuli leaned in to give both Bongo and Bobo goodnight nuzzles and licks.
Bongo and Bobo: "Hehehehehe." They giggled, their hearts full of happiness.
Kion, Bunga, Ono, and Beshte couldn't help but smile.
Kion, Bunga, Ono, and Beshte: "Awwww, Fuli." They teased.
Fuli rolled her eyes but smiled fondly.
Bunga, gently cradling the now-sleepy Asha, walked over to Amara.
Bunga: "Here you go, a sleepy Asha." He said softly as he handed her to her mother.
Amara: "Aw, thank you, Bunga." She smiled warmly.
With a final wave, The Lion Guard headed back to their lair, satisfied with the day's outcome. Meanwhile, Amara and Bakari led Bongo, Bobo, and Asha up the tree for a well-deserved night of rest.
The baboon family settled down, safe and sound, as the night blanketed the Pride Lands.
