Nedzu was done. It was only the second week of the school year and yet his first years have already been attacked once. That's not even mentioning the press breaking in a few days before. He was certain that it wasn't the press who destroyed the gate, but what proof did he have? Sure, there was dust on the ground where the gate should have been but after the press running to get through and the wind that day? It's safe to say the dust was no longer there.

That was why this conversation was about to happen. Nedzu knew that Yokohamans were not seen in a good light by most of society. Still, he had met the agents of the Armed Detective Agency and knew that even the youngest members would be enough to teach his students better than most heroes in Japan. He was hoping that his old friend would be able to send in some of his people to train and protect his students, but what he got was more than he expected.

He never expected to get five agents, two mafia members, and one member of an American organization. However, that last one was only coming along because of one of the agents leaving.

"Hello, Fukuzawa." Nedzu grinned. "It's been a while. I have a small favour to ask of you. Nothing big."

From the other end of the line, Nedzu heard the deep voice of his old friend. "What do you need, Nedzu?"

Atsushi Nakajima never thought he'd be leaving Yokohama or its surrounding cities, but today will be that day. He was surprised by which agents were asked to go on this "mission". Ranpo made sense, he was one of the best and the starting member. Poe coming along for the ride was also expected. Atsushi wasn't sure he ever saw the two of them separated for more than a few days once they got closer.

When he heard that the school had a well-known and amazing doctor, he knew then and there that Yosano would want to meet her.

He wasn't surprised that Kenji asked to go. The blonde boy always wanted to know more about "city folk", and who were they to deny him something as simple as this? Certainly not the president.

Dazai. That was the main surprise. Atsushi would have thought his mentor wouldn't want to get involved. This wasn't the type of mission he usually went on.

Then he saw that Chuuya and Akutagawa were asked to come along to give a better grasp on the different types of "heroes" Yokohama had to offer.

In all honesty, he was excited to see what was going to happen. What was the mission going to entail? He knew their job was to protect and teach the young students, but that was the overall goal. What was the plan for classes? Atsushi knew that he would be partnered with Akutagawa during fights if they happened and that Chuuya and Dazai would do the same. Yosano would be on the scene quickly to heal everyone in need. Ranpo would sit back, like usual, but he might work on evacuation with Poe if necessary. Kenji, however, would be placed as a student.

It turns out that Kenji hadn't gotten the chance to experience school, so Nedzu offered him a role as a student. Once he learned of Kenji's ability, he made sure to have Lunch Rush give him extra to be eaten after Heroics. Because that was a thing? You'd think they'd offer specifics on that subject. But that was a different topic for another day.

Atsushi was waiting by the bus with Kenji, Ranpo, and Poe. Kenji had been the first to arrive, having been woken up by Yosano and Kunikida so that he wouldn't forget. Ranpo was probably woken up by Kunikida as well, as he was grumpy. Poe had followed his 'rival' when he saw him leaving his apartment.

Surprisingly, Chuuya and Akutagawa had been the next to show. Atsushi thought that Dazai and Yosano would have gotten there before the executive and subordinate pair would. Then again, Dazai was always late and Yosano was probably trying to pack everything in her office into one bag. Such a thing was a feat on its own.

Kyouka had come out of their apartment to see him off, and Akutagawa tried to steer clear of her. Because of that, she gave Atsushi three bento boxes since Chuuya was following the man in black. She had made bento boxes for everyone going since they wouldn't arrive until after lunch.

Atsushi was glad that her fear of Akutagawa had died and hadn't turned into a need for revenge. He knows that if she wanted to, he wouldn't blame her. He doesn't think Akutagawa would blame her, either, and doesn't that say something? The fact that Akutagawa knows what he did and even if he had his reasons, he never used them as excuses. Atsushi and Akutagawa might not get along, but they were a good team, and with Kyouka they were better. The three would never admit it to anyone, even themselves.

Finally, Dazai and Yosano arrived. Dazai was being dragged by the back of his coat by Kunikida and Yosano dragged behind her a single overflowing duffle bag with suspicious-looking dumps. Atsushi wasn't going to ask. He could also see a duffle bag strapped around Kunikida's shoulder. Since the man wasn't going to UA with them, Atsushi assumed it was Dazai's. After all, the man didn't have his bags with him.

"Are you all ready to head out?" Kunikida asked. "It will be after lunch when you arrive, so I hope you brought something to eat." Atsushi and Kyouka held up the bento boxes for eight people. Kunikda hummed, "It seems Kyouka and Atsushi brought some. You'll get food once you arrive during your introduction to the rest of the staff. From what I can tell, Kenji will be in class 1A."

Kenji grinned, starry-eyed, "I can't wait to see what city folk are like there!" Of course, the kids' enthusiasm was ever-present.

It took a few minutes to get everyone on the bus and situated, Kunikida had taken it upon himself to pack everyone's duffle bags into the storage space. Atsushi couldn't help but thank Nedzu for providing the bus, otherwise, he wasn't sure how long it would have taken them to get there.

The ride was fast. Before they knew it, they were eating the bento boxes Kyouka provided. Not long after, they were coming up to the staff parking area where Nedzu was standing with a man in black. He looked scruffy, but if he was with the principal, he must be a teacher, right? Yeah, that makes sense. After all, Dazai doesn't seem like the picture of a working man back at the office. Hopefully, he will do his job. Hopefully.

Please, let Dazai do his job this time. Atsushi doesn't know if he could take having to do both their jobs this time around.
