chapter one monster
The witch of the East stared at the castle right in front of her; it was called The White Castle. She had no love for the people of this land or for the man that occupied the castle. She had a cold expression on her face it showed little emotion. Her face was was cold. She wore a black dress that covered much of her skin except for her upper shoulders and parts of her cleavage. The only other part of her body that was exposed was her fingers. She had a horns that looked liked like those of a demon. She had a staff, a symbol of her power, this Castle which held many bad memories, memories of a servant girl, memories of the abuse by her father, the weak girl that she was back then, she was nothing like her now.
"What shall we do, Your Highness?" said her cousin Neji, he wore a white robe and had wings that symbolized him being a Fey. He is one of the few people she didn't hold with complete contempt like her he also has horns on his head. It didn't matter to her she trusted; no one he was no more than a tool.
"Anyone who refuses to submit dies. Spare no one and show no mercy."He looked horrified by her order.
"You can't mean everyone, including the servants some of which are children who are the same age as Boruto and Himawari!" She responded to him with intense anger. for even mentioning her children's names openly when she wanted to keep their existence a secret.
"Are you questioning me? The humans who serves the king deserves no mercy; they're only given one chance. If they're too stupid to accept my generosity then they do not deserve my Mercy kill them if they don't submit. You have your orders unless you want me to replace you with somebody else?" she said to him coldly.
He recoiled at her hatred for the humans in the castle she didn't care they were nothing but worthless scum to her as far as she was concerned.
"No, of course I just think it would be better if we got the servants on our side instead of killing them Hinata were not like these humans were Fey This is Not who We Are we're not ruthless killers this is not our way this is not what our grandmother would have wanted." her cousin said trying to get her to change her mind.
"it doesn't matter what she would have wanted she's dead just like the rest of our race it matters not what the dead want or what they would have wanted we're the last of our kind Neji and I will have my vengeance our people demanded it."Hinata said in a icy tone.
"I'm sorry I failed you that I couldn't have found you sooner, but please reconsider. There are innocent children who are the same age as you were. Do you really want the world to look at us as monsters?" Neji asked her.
"You know your orders, Neji. I will not repeat myself again." Hinata said coldly ignoring his question.
She ignored any further protest from him as she walked past her soldiers and looked at the castle. It would be so easy to break down that crude matter; she was a witch with immense power, but even that power had its limits. The castle itself was made out of materials that made it difficult for witches to tear down the stone due to it being made out of magic-resistant stone, which most castles are made out of, but that doesn't mean there weren't other ways she could destroy her enemies.
"Fools, those who serve the king. You have one chance to lay down your arms and swear your fealty to me. If you refuse, you'll die with your king. I'm being generous; I could burn this entire castle to a cinder. Choose wisely; I'm not normally this generous."
She felt fear in the air. She reveled in it. When she was a servant girl, she would be disgusted by the kind of person she has become, but she didn't care. This was payback. She would burn everything her father built to the ground; she cared nothing for the people that served under her. After all, they were human.
"We will fight to the last man to defend our king. To arms, men! To arms!" said a bearded man in his 40s.
"Fools, you have chosen death. So be it, kill them all, spare no one," she spoke in an inhuman voice so everyone in her army heard. There was silence until she signaled for them to attack. The enemy launched arrows at her army; she did not move from her spot; she shielded herself by casting willing spells that she had learned when she was a student at the academy of sorcery her entire body was covered in a green aura; she cared nothing for her men; to her they were all the same; she despised them all. Humans to her were all the same: what are they fought for her or against her.
She saw a row of her men killed by a valley of arrows; it didn't deter her army from advancing; she cast a powerful spell which tore down the walls of the castle. It was more difficult because of it being magic resistant, but that didn't stop her. Nothing would get in the way of her revenge.; The men in the castle looked at her in fear. She walked, she didn't pay attention as her men killed soldiers left and right, she cared nothing for these people, her second-in-command looked horrified by the violence, she didn't care.
She saw two men who were barely able to hold a sword. They were terrified when they saw her. The boys, who had terrified her when she was a child and were around her age now, were the same tormentors as far as she was concerned.
"Please spare us Hinata Mercy." Said the younger of the two brothers.
"We're sorry for everything please; don't kill us." The older sibling said fearful for his life. She laughed at the idea of her former tormentors begging her for mercy. She lifted both of them with a flick of a finger, and they were in the air, clutching their necks.
"Oh, how the mighty have fallen! To think that I was once terrified of you. To think that I, a Fey, was terrified of filthy humans! You're just weak and brittle." Hinata crushed the younger sibling's rib cage. Blood was coming out of his mouth; he was in extreme pain, but she didn't want his suffering to end quickly.
"I really remember every single moment when you tortured innocent animals for fun. When you hunted them, you didn't end their lives quickly and painlessly; instead, you extended their suffering as long as possible. I recall you making me watch as you skinned my friend Kiba alive. He begged you to stop, but you continued anyway and laughed while doing it." This memory of kiba's gruesome demise has been deeply ingrained into her soul. She started boiling the older siblings inside completely out. He was screaming in agony. She didn't care if she was a monster at this point. The memory of Kiba's torture and death had left an indelible mark on her psyche.
"We're sorry," the younger siblings barely got the words out due to the pain. She wanted them to suffer, to feel the same hopelessness and fear that their victims felt.
"You're not sorry. You're only sorry because, for the first time in your worthless lives, you are at the mercy of someone stronger than you. You pathetic worms! To think that I was once afraid of you! You're nothing more than dirt and dust to me now." She continued prolonging their suffering. They were screaming, and this power that she had over them felt amazing. She always fantasized about this moment.
"You truly are a monster, aren't you?" said the older sibling.
"Yes, but so are you." Hinata replied as she ended his life by boiling him alive. His body melted like acid; his brother looked terrified. His brother continued to scream as his body disintegrated, his skin peeled off along with his bones until there was silence. She let his remains drop, and the remainder of his body that wasn't disintegrated by her magic shattered into pieces on the stone hard floor. The younger sibling was looking at her now, terrified without his brother to support him. She could do anything she wanted to him now, but she decided to end it. He was small fry, so she tossed him to the other side of the courtyard, shattering his body. The last thing he saw when he left this world was a vengeful Fey.
A woman she once knew when she was a servant girl looked at her in horror.
"Please spare me, I beg of you. Please spare me; I'll do whatever you ask, just don't kill me." She looked at the woman with disgust—the same woman who tormented her throughout her childhood, the same woman who did everything to make her life hell.
"No, I will not show you mercy, Keiko not to a filthy worm like yourself." The woman was terrified; she knew she wouldn't survive.
"I was ordered to do it by my husband. You've got to believe me, please, Hinata. Mercy!" woman begged.
As if an invisible hand was wrapped around the woman's throat she lifted her up using her magic.
"Mercy, you want me to Grant you Mercy human after what you have done done to me what you have taken from me? you will die along with all the vermin here this Kingdom will burn."
The woman's neck she could feel the cracks in the bones. she knew the woman would not survive she wanted her to feel how powerless she truly was.
"Show mercy to my sons," she begged.
"I killed them they're nothing but dust and bones now ."
The woman looked at her in horror, not believing the kind of person she had become.
"They were only boys," she laughed, not caring that it made her look like a sadist.
"Boys? They were far from innocent 'boys. They butchered animals for fun and they killed my friend. You enabled them, and you will die like the vermin that you are." Hinata saw the fear in the woman's eyes: she knew there was no reasoning with her. She snapped her neck; her body was motionless for a few moments until she let it drop to the ground. The people around her fled for their lives, not wanting to suffer the same fate.
She walks past; her body doesn't turn back. Other people who once worked with her when she was a servant girl ran in terror. She could have killed them with a flick of her finger, but she had no interest. They were just servants; her troops were ordered to kill anyone who didn't surrender, but she wasn't going to do it. She came here for her own reason. She didn't care if her troops won; she only cared about burning everything about the kingdom to the ground and killing the usurper.
The knights who were protecting her father withdrew their swords, foolishly thinking they could protect their King. She didn't waste any time with words. With her right hand she cast a spell and crushed the knights who were being crushed in their own armor. Blood filled the floor; the other knights, valuing their lives more than their King, were terrified. They dropped their swords, hoping she would spare them.
"Please, we don't want to die. We'll do anything for you; we'll even serve under you." Said one of the knights, begging for his life.
"You already made your choice, human." Hinata said coldly.
She incinerated them with flames; they screamed in agony; as they were being cooked alive in their own armor, they tried in vain to remove it, but to no avail. Their dying screams did nothing for her; she was unmoved. She cared nothing for these pathetic men who were nothing more than fools.
She walked to where the throne room run for their lives She didn't bother killing them; they weren't in her way; her real Target was her father and Kanji. When she entered the throne room she saw a bunch of men, their last line of defense, the greatest of their knights. What she saw before her was not only the Knight's but also a sorcerer who served her father Kanji was a powerful sorcerer. The man that murdered her mother and sister today she would have her revenge nothing would get in her way.
The sorcerer moved away from her father and walked towards the center of the room. There was only one way this would end she knew.
"The bastard demon child of Hitomi, your father should have strangled you in your crib." When she was a child, this man terrified her, but she was not a child anymore. 12 years ago, her mother and sister were murdered; she was 12 back then. Now, she was 24, and she was not the weak girl that she used to be.
"You've always made it known that you hated me and my mother," she said matter of factly.
"Ironic, a demonic witch like you is named Hinata."
"Hinata—that is her name. The name of a sunflower. It was something pure and innocent, but she was far from being pure and the innocent girl that she once was is long gone."
"Don't insult my mother," Hinata said with venom.
"Your mother was a whore. She desired to take the throne for herself, and she paid for it with her life." Nothing was said for a moment.
"You mean the throne that once belonged to my grandmother, the throne that bastard has usurped? You mean the throne that was my mother's birthright, my birthright?" Hinata asked.
"When did you learn about that?" Kanji asked, surprised.
"No more words human; I've come here to end you," he laughed as if she were telling a joke.
"I have a lifetime of experience, girl. You have been training for how many years? You were barely able to even use your powers before you fled. I highly doubt...
He didn't get a chance to finish, as Hinata overpowered the man's defenses. He was barely able to defend himself, and she crushed his right hand. He clinched his hand in pain and looked at Hinata in horror.
"What the hell are you?" the man demanded.
"What am I?" Hinata laughed darkly.
"I am the demonic witch that will destroy this Kingdom and burn it to the ground. I am the queen of darkness and death. I will destroy everything this Kingdom stood for, and all the realms beyond will fear me. The world will learn to fear the Fey Queen of the East." Both were horrified as they looked at her.
"You evil abomination. My father should have destroyed the rest of your race when he had the chance." said her father.
"Evil is that what I am, father?" she laughed at his hypocrisy.
"You ordered the murder of my mother. You made me watch as she was violated and afterwards slit her throat and made me watch her bleed to death, and you made me watch as the man that raised me like his own daughter was butchered, who was your son. None of them did anything wrong; none of them did anything to deserve what happened to them. You want to call me evil? You should look at yourself. I may be a monster but so are you and everyone of your family who has hunted my people to extinction and burned these once beautiful and lush forests and turned this land that was once a paradise into a land of death doing what you humans all do best: destroy the world around you." The room darkened. The hate she had for both of these men made her watch them suffer. She wanted them to experience the fear that she had experienced, and she wanted them to have the most agonizing deaths imaginable.
"Enough words, girl. I will end you and your petty rebellion." Kanji said as he cast the death curse spell, a spell that could instantly kill. Hinata knew how to counter it; she deflected the spell back at him; she didn't want him to die yet. One of the servants next to her father was killed instantly.
"You think some spell like that's going to destroy me? You're a fool. I've destroyed magicians far more powerful than you when I escaped from my imprisonment, Kanji. This is child's play." He looked horrified.
She gorged in his fear and the fear of everyone in the room they all knew they were going to die Hinata casted a fire spell which caused a fire in the room she wasn't going to have them leave the room alive she wasn't going to take any chances. She walked slowly. She wanted to savor this moment; she wanted to make the people that destroyed the people she loved suffer and the people that destroyed her families Kingdom.
She didn't pay attention to their dying screams; the only person she cared about was her father, Kanji, the tormentor of her childhood. She grabbed Kanji with an invisible hand and lifted him up in the air. The fear in his eyes made it clear he knew he wasn't going to make it out of this room alive. She did not care how the world perceived her; if they thought she was a monster, then so be it. She already was seen as one, so why did it matter if she acted the part?
She let him go, and he tumbled to the ground as if thinking he would have a chance. He tried to run, but she casted a spell that destroyed his legs. He screamed in pain and crawled; he was trying to get away even if it was in vain. The whole room was filled with screams, and blood was everywhere due to her power. He looked at her in the eye before; she was afraid of those eyes, but now she looked at them with a different perspective.
"You really are a monster you will never find love girl as long as you live."She put her foot on his chest, she put all the pressure she could and he screamed.
"You could kill me, but it won't change anything," he said laughing. "No one will ever love you; you're a monster. Konoha will send its greatest hero Menma Namikaze, and he will end you." He was telling her this as if he had won.
"I will destroy him just like I've destroyed all of you. It makes no difference to me. I will kill the so called hero of Konoha like every glory seeking fool. I will deal with him the same way as the rest of those idiots that try to kill me . If they this Menma is foolish enough to want to be sent to an early grave, I'll gladly give it to him. I'm not afraid of him"the man laughed and the laughs made her angrier she wanted him to be in pain.
" There is one truth you can never escape girl part of yo-." he didn't get a chance to finish as Hinata squeeze even harder on his windpipe.
She couldn't take him laughing anymore when she stomped on his chest he laughed even harder to the point where she forgo torture and decide is to snap his neck to end the laughing the room was silent the only thing left was her and her father. She walked towards him. He looked at her with fear but he also looked at her with hatred.
"Your kingdom is destroyed, your loyal men are being destroyed, you have no one left, and your kingdom lies in ashes."
The man said nothing for a few moments. Hinata got very close to him, close enough for him to touch her.
As if there was an invisible blade Hinata slashed her father's chest his blood fell to the floor she used her magic to crushed his ribs he fell to his knees.
"How fitting for the usurper king to bow before one of his bastards. How does it feel, father? Knowing I'm the last thing you will see before you go to hell?" Her father looked at her; the hatred he felt for her was mutual.
"You've always been a dark one, Hinata. I should have strangled you in your crib. There was always something wrong with you then; what can I expect from the daughter of one of my concubines who was a Fey?" He spat at her feet. She crushed another one of his bones, she was going to force him to kneel before her.
"Your mother was a monster and a whore; my biggest mistake was not killing you in your crib. You should have never been born; you were a monster then and you're a monster now."
She kicked her father in the face knocking multiple teeth out he looked at her with intense hatred.
"You were born of darkness. You are not my daughter. You're a bastard, and your mother was also a monster." Hinata didn't let him say anymore; she crushed his windpipe. She saw the last essence of life leave him; she didn't feel anything; her revenge did not feel as satisfying as she had hoped.
She didn't pay attention as footsteps approached the throne room; the men that followed her were horrified by the gruesome sight in front of them. She paid them no mind the bastard that her father was dead she saw her cousin Neji along with his men got on their knees.
"Report," Hinata commanded.
"All resistance has been crushed, those who did not submit were killed or fled. Should we pursue the remnants?" asked Neji.
"No, leave them," she had accomplished her goal and she had no interest in hunting them down.
"What about the people that have fought alongside you? What should I tell the men?" she didn't care; to her they were a means to an end.
"Tell them what you will, I don't care."She walked past him and left the room. She had another place she wanted to visit and she didn't want anyone getting in that way.
She went to the council chamber and waited to see if there was no one around. She used her spell to undo the illusion. The mirrors changed depending on the heart of the ruler. Hinata wasn't concerned about needing the mirror for its power and wisdom; she cared not what was in her own heart. What concerned her was power and the ability to control such power. The mirror could be a powerful object in the right hands. She didn't care even if it was a great optional power that she can use power: to find the remaining nobles that supported her father, to burn everything to the ground that had anything to do with her father's kingdom, and eliminate anybody that supported the usurpers who destroyed her people.
"Mirror, mirror, give me your wisdom," Hinata chanted as an old man appeared in front of her. He had a look of disgust while Hinata had a look of gloating over her victory over her fallen enemy.
"The Dark Fey has finally arrived, letting you live was a mistake which has cost this Kingdom everything," she laughed, calling her a monster.
"I'm the monster you say when the king that you served butchered innocent animals. The same man that tormented and raped girls forced to have his children and even raped his own children and grandchildren and murdered his own son and daughter. I'm the monster? don't make me laugh"she couldn't stand the mirror's hypocrisy.
"You have destroyed a lineage that had existed for hundreds of years. You are an abomination, you're a bastard, I won't give my wisdom or my power to you," he said contemptuously. She had heard a lot about this so-called benevolent mirror, and he was nothing like they said.
"Such hypocrisy! Monster. What about the murder of my people? Why should I have any compassion for their murderers? As far as I can see, those who are considered heroes are the murderers of my people. The Fey were guardians of this land, a race of peace until they were brutally murdered, and you're going to call me the monster? Consider the monstrous things they have done!" she asked him, knowing he wouldn't answer but asked anyway. She wouldn't tolerate his gaslighting.
"You've destroyed a kingdom of nobility. It was a benevolent kingdom until you destroyed it." The mirror said, she laughed darkly at his lies.
"This entire Kingdom was built in wickedness from the start, built with the blood of my people and my ancestors who protected the forest of Hyugan. My family protected the forest for generations until invaders came and burned the forest destroyed the animal species here. The castle that I stand was built on the graves of my grandmother and grandfather who were the last rulers of the realm they protected this realm for centuries until Natsu, my fathers ancestor murdered my people, murdered members of my family. A benevolent Kingdom what a joke only a child believes in such lies." Hinata said bitterly
"The monster that was born from the blood of a demon. You have become the very thing the prophecy said you would. Because you are the villain that has been stated in the prophecies, your bloodline is cursed. No one will ever love you." That hurts her more than she wanted to admit but she refuses to show this to the old man.
"A hero will come, he will slay you, and you will be remembered as the wicked witch of the East."
She laughed at the very idea.
" That's just too funny. It was said that I would have failed and be cast down by the hero, but look what has happened to the kingdom. Its prophecies were all lies. They said it to comfort children and make them behave: beware of a girl with inhuman eyes and horns. I have long since embraced the role of monster, so if that's what I am, let the world hate and fear me." She laughed bitterly.
"Heroes don't exist. They're just in children's stories. Where was the hero when I was bullied? When I was beaten senseless, when I begged my bullies to stop, when I was whipped for existing, where was a hero then? Spare me the bullshit. None of these stories are true; they're all lies. Your precious kingdom that you champion was built on lies. There's nothing more insulting to your legacy or my father's knowing this monster destroyed it all." She looked at him with a satisfied grin.
"If you think I'm going to help you, abomination, you have another thing coming." She knew he would not help her.
"I have no need for your help or want it be gone." She shattered the mirror to pieces, destroying it. It was part of the Usurper's family for generations; no more wisdom will be passed on. She didn't care.
Hinata looked outside the darkened room she was in. The darkness was something she feared as a child, but now embraced it as a companion. She will crush those who supported her father and make the fools outside fear her. No longer the weak scared girl she once was, she will make them all pay. She looked at the city outside the castle. It was on fire. She didn't care about victory celebrations.
She went to her private Chambers She looked at herself in the mirror." You're ugly who's going to fall in love with a ugly monster like you?"laughed a girl who she thought was her friend. She saw a tear fall. The last person to see her cry was her Naruto the only person she showed any vulnerability to. She clenched at her left and right sides of her upper shoulders were her wings used to be before they were ripped from her body.
"They're beautiful, Hinata Chan. Just like every part of you." She remembered a boy saying that to her, which felt like a lifetime ago.
She looked at the sky before fading into unconsciousness, wishing that Naruto would save her from this lonely existence. So she didn't think it would be possible if he know the kind of person that she has become.
1 day later
It was in a dim dark room. The darkness in the room reflects the dark cold heart of its inhabitant, Hinata Hyuga, the dark queen and witch of the land of Hyugan by outside inhabitants it would be considered the land of darkness. The now sworn enemy of Konoha, the land of light, outsiders call her a cruel tyrant that takes pleasure in the suffering of others and is ruthless to her subjects and her enemies alike,She doesn't care; she welcomes their hate. She was in the ruins of what was once the pride and Jewel of the kingdom of light . She thought it was amusing how in a span of a daya kingdom that stood for 200 years was destroyed in spain of a single night.
Her counsel entered the chamber; they were in conversation about the tidings of Konoha. Nothing interested her, so she just made it look like she was listening. She heard rumors of the exploits of the hero but didn't care; it was all the same to her. Every single one of them ended up trying to kill her, and she just ended their lives. Not one of them was worth remembering because they never fought anything but for glory and nothing else . Where were they for people like her, when she was a scared child, screamed and begged for someone to help her?
Nowhere, heroes don't exist; they are something out of children's tales. Then one hero in particular caught her eye. Menma, whose existence had escaped her until last night, she eagerly listened. She wanted to know everything about him because she couldn't afford to ignore any potential threat, especially when it involved a hero. It didn't matter who they were; they were all the same glory-seeking fools. She didn't expect him to be any different, after all, they were all the same. They were never there for her, and she shouldn't believe in them. The concept of them didn't exist, and she was determined to prove that he was just like them. So, she was curious: What did he look like? Menma, she couldn't help but want to know all she could about him.
"Menma Namikaze, what is known about him?" Hinata asked.
"Menma Namikaze, at the age of 16, became a hero to the people of the Land of Waves when he saved them from a tyrant named Goto. There is even a bridge named after him for his deeds." Neji explained.
A bridge being named after him, she was disgusted with the very idea. She probably thought he was another one of those vain heroes who sought glory. She decided to listen, knowing about her enemy was essential. She always studies the heroes that were sent after her. After all, knowledge was power, and not knowing about your enemy was foolish.
"There was a time he had fought Gaara; the demon of the sand. They battled to a standstill, very little information is known about that battle. The only thing that is known is he spared Gaara's life." Interesting, she thought. She heard about Gaara and wondered why he didn't destroy the kingdom that had made his life hell. It perplexed her.
"What else is known about Menma? I don't care. Whatever deed he has done, I don't care to hear it. I've heard it all before—about the accomplishments of this hero and that hero. I don't care. I want important details, not everything he has done. Neji." Hinata said darkly.
" His list is extensive of his deeds. He has gone to many lands, saved many people, and is extremely popular with women." Neji said, which had Hinata roll her eyes.
"A womanizer? Not surprising, considering all heroes are like that. What other things do you know?" She asked Neji and the other members of his council.
" There isn't much known about him other than what is known around Menma. He tends to keep his life private." Tenten said.
"This hero is beneath my notice, though I will have to pay the princess of Konoha a visit." Hinata said as she got off her chair.
"This meeting is adjourned unless you have something to add?"Everyone was in silence. They were all afraid of her Not that it mattered.
"We have nothing else, your highness." said Neji.
She left the room and walked to her quarters, which were formally her father's. She hated this place, but she had nowhere else to go. She looked at herself in the mirror; like yesterday, she did not recognize the woman that she had become.
"You're probably ashamed of me mother of the monster that I am. But I was always a monster and always will be Im sorry. I'm not the daughter that you wanted." She said sadly.
She cast a spell to get him to the Capitol, pay the princess a visit she was going to announce to the world that the Queen of Darkness has destroyed the kingdom of Hyugan and has destroyed a lineage that spanned hundreds of years she wanted the world to fear her..
"Menma isn't coming it seems." said Kakashi who was looking at the ceremony that was currently being held for Sakura's honor.
"He has yet to return from his latest adventure! in the south: we will have to start without him. We can't wait for him." said Sakura impatiently.
Sakura wore a pink dress that had white on its upper parts and green at the lower with red in the back. Her hair was down to her shoulders. Her way of dressing was expected of someone of her rank in the hierarchy of the kingdom of Konoha. The one thing that stood out the most was the crown on her head; it was made of gold, and at its center was an emerald with a rectangular shape. She was considered the princess of beauty and purity, which was considered a rarity amongst her family. No one had gone by that title for generations, and a lot was expected from Sakura, the future Queen.
There were many guests from various lands, and their ways of dressing were both familiar and foreign. Even some of them were return friends, such as Princess Shion, the next elf queen of the kingdom of Hakira (the elf realm that is forbidden for humans to set foot in without written permission from the queen herself). She has pale lavender eyes and light blonde hair. There were many guests who were attracted to her. Sakura was hoping that she would leave soon, as she didn't want to be outstaged by a non-human.
There was another woman from the land of snow, Koyuki. She had long black hair with bangs that swept on each side of her face and violet-blue eyes. She is a famous actress who acts in many plays. She's a popular performer, especially with young adult men, despite being in her early 20s. She doesn't show any signs of settling down, which Sakura couldn't help but feel envious about. There were rumors that she and Menma once had a relationship, but Koyuki never confirmed or denied it. She refused to elaborate when asked what happened to their relationship.
There were a few other Menma's friends, but they aren't really that notable compared to the two parties. She wasn't going to let anyone upstage her it was her big day. This was her big announcement about her engagement and wedding with Sasuke Uchiha. Nothing would get in her way.
"Oh my lady you look as lovely as ever" said Ken Who bowed respectively he took her hand and kissed her the tip of her right hand.
"Thank you, Lord Ken," Sakura responded in kind.
The man was nothing special. He was one of the nobles who was looking to be in good favor with her when she becomes queen. She thought he was a vain man and someone that she wouldn't particularly want to associate with, but as her mother once told her, it's not what is in a man's personality that makes him useful; it is what they can do for you when you need them most. Loyalty was the most valuable commodity.
"I see the hero of the land is missing in your important ceremony that will announce your marriage and date of your coronation. Don't you find that odd that the supposed greatest hero of our land isn't here?" Ken asked generally, wanting to know why Menma was not at Sakura's ceremony. She didn't know how to respond considering he was always on the move. The location where he is was something she wasn't able to find for years. The royal family tried and failed to search for the location of the Uzumaki clan due to them being a difficult clan to control.
"He's probably off on another one of his adventures to save an unfortunate soul." Sakura said, not caring one way or another.
"Have you heard rumors about the rebellion in the kingdom of light?" Asked one of the nobles near Sakura, who is a woman in her mid-30s with short blonde hair and green eyes. She wore a white dress that exposed her shoulders and back.
"Oh you mean Demon witch who communicates with the demon realm and has recruited an army demons?" Asked her companion a woman who was around the same age who had shoulder length black hair.
"Demons don't be ridiculous if she has anyone in her petty rebellion it's likely a bunch of peasants who don't know their place." The blonde woman responded.
"You should never assume anything, especially when it comes to one of those creatures," said a man who was dressed like an aristocrat. He had short black hair and yellow eyes that looked like snake eyes. He had a look of arrogance on his face, but Sakura knew from his reputation that he had the confidence to back it up. There were rumors that he once stole wings from a 16-year-old girl with horns. She didn't know to what extent these rumors were true, nor did she care. What mattered to her were results—she was infamous amongst hunters who did not care about what he did or the consequences of it. He collected rare parts of species for his own amusement.
"What do you mean?" asked Sakura curiously. Everyone looked at her and was surprised that the princess was in their presence.
" Specify your question your highness." asked the Raven-Hered man.
" I was referring to the witch of the east What is she exactly?"Sakura asked curious about this demon witch that she has been hearing rumors about for the past 2 years.
"Not a specimen worth talking about She's the last of a dying race" the Raven haired man said.
"What do you mean?" Sakura asked, even more interested now about this which of the east.
"As you know, the Hyga family left our kingdom to start their own. The Hyga noble family was one of our greatest, other than Uchiha's of course. They conquered the nearby kingdom and renamed it Hygan." she remembered what had happened from her studies of the birth of the kingdom of light; it was the guardian that protected Konaha from any outside threats.
"What was the name of the Kingdom before it became what it is today?" asked Sakura.
"Does it really matter the name of a dead people of a dead kingdom?" The raven haired man asked?
"No, I suppose not." Sakura conceded.
She walked past him and went towards the guest of honor, Kushina Uzumaki. She had long red hair, which was a distinct feature of the Uzumaki clan of sages. She was taller than Sakura, and her way of dressing was reminiscent of the clan she represented. She wore a green kimono with red stripes on the lower and upper sections of the attire. She had a tiara on her forehead, which signified her being the patriarch of her clan. She bowed respectfully.
" Your highness it is a honor to be in your presence." Menma's mother's said respectfully
" The honor is mine lady Kushina I am happy that you are here It is a shame that your son was not able to come" sakura said disappointedly.
There was a time when she and Menma were going to get married, but Menma rejected her when he told her he would only marry his shining star. She thought the idea of the shining star was complete nonsense and believed that it only existed in children's stories and couldn't exist in reality.
" You know my son he certainly loves going on his adventures and looking to help the nearest person In need he is just like his father I couldn't be any prouder of my son and I am now sorry forgive myself your highness." Kushina said respectfully.
"It's a shame he isn't here. It really is. I know Lady Shion was really looking forward to meeting him here." Kushina said, looking at the elf princess talking to the guest. She was extremely popular because of her beauty, which is something Sakura couldn't help but feel a little jealous of. Menma once saved her life and saved her from the depths of despair, and ever since has had her eyes on him. Another reason for Sakura to get jealous was because she saw her as more competition, though it was foolishness because Sasuke was her fiance now. It was ridiculous to even be jealous of a woman like her, but she couldn't help it; old habits died hard.
She had to put that thought aside because, as a future Queen, she has to be respectful of Shion. She would have to meet with her at the ruler summit someday, and it would be better to be on good terms than to be on bad terms, as her mother would tell her.
"I hope you enjoy this event, Lady Kushina. If he excuses me, I have guests that I need to attend to." Sakura left the older woman behind and went straight to where Shion was.
Shion hated these events; she preferred being around her native Forest rather than be in a place full of dead things like Stone and marble. Her mother required her to attend these events in order to better prepare herself when she herself goes through her own coronation, which was going to happen sooner than she would like but her mother wanted to spend the rest of her days in the forest herself then ruling a kingdom. Being an elf, her lifespan would last many human lifetimes; most of these people in the room that she sees will be dead by the time she reaches the age of 200.
She was considered young for her race at the age of 80; many of her peers thought she wasn't ready to be Queen. Usually, elf queens don't ascend until they're at least 300 due to life experience, but her mother wanted to retire after ruling for over eight centuries. Her mother was 200 when she ruled and, being over a thousand years old, she wanted to spend the remaining days in places that made her happy from her youth. She didn't want to deny her mother's happiness, so she was willing to step in and take over centuries earlier than what would normally be considered acceptable.
Humans wouldn't understand why it matters that someone so young like her taking over would be such a big deal, but the humans don't know how old she truly is. Some assume that she's 16 to 17 years old when she's far older than most of the humans in this room; the oldest being 85. She wishes Naruto was in this event, but Naruto had always told her that he hated being in parties and never went to them unless forced. She couldn't blame him; she didn't like them herself. Being someone that could see into the future, she knows something's going to happen, something big, but she can't put her finger on it. She can only read into someone's future when she touches them, but nothing else.
"Naruto, one day your greatest enemy will be someone you love," Shion recalled that conversation vividly. It broke her heart knowing that Naruto would never love her back, but that's what it had to be. She didn't have the ability to completely see into the future; only glimpses and possible futures because, as her mother told her many times, with powers like hers, the future always changes. There was one outcome, however, that would always be inevitable, no matter what people did to change it.
No mater how many times she tries, Naruto will never love her like she loves him. It hurts her knowing this. She can't read into her own future; maybe she would find love someday, but as of now, she'll have to deal with the agony of her heart knowing Naruto will not see her in the way he sees the Fey girl Hinata .
She saw the princess of Konoha approach her. She didn't particularly want to be around this girl, but she had no choice because she would be a queen someday along with Shion. She herself had to learn to tolerate her, no matter how much she detested being around her.
"Lady Sakura, what have I done to deserve this honor?" Shion bowed respectfully as was expected of her as the princess of Hakira.
"The honor is mine, Lady Shion. It's not often that we get elves from the Kingdom of Hakira to visit our Fair Castle in Konoha. Is everything up to your expectations? Do you need any accommodations?" Sakura asked.
"No, I don't need any of that though. I find it strange that Saito, the king of Hygan, isn't here. He is never known to be late." she said, pointing out something that has been on her mind ever since she arrived: The tyrant king is never known to not want to constantly brag about the resources that he pillages from the once noble and benevolent kingdom of Hyugan. He was someone that she despised with all the fabric of her being, along with every member of his family.
"Something has probably come up. He probably what's the deal with some petty rebellion? It should be dealt with shortly; it's not like the rebels are organized. I will deal with them like the insects they are—they're all nothing but criminals." said Sakura, contemptuous of the rebellion that's currently going on in the Kingdom of Hygan.
"He's a despot. You can't suppress people's freedoms forever and not expect them to rise up. Him and his family have a history of cruelty. If there is a rebellion, I will support the rebels, not that usurper king and his descendants." Shion said, voicing her honest thoughts about the king and his family that had destroyed what was once a beautiful kingdom that Fey ruled for generations.
"A despot, so you're saying that that dark demon witch would be better?" Sakura asked rhetorically.
"No, but the conditions for the rebellion obviously cannot be ignored. The witch is taking advantage of contradictions within that society. The rebellion itself is completely justified, but the person controlling that rebellion and commanding it is not because her goals are not compatible with the people who are fighting for their own liberation. But because she probably has her own agenda, what her agenda is I cannot say." Shion said, countering Sakura's argument.
"Carefully saying that you support this revolution will not make you popular in our court." Sakura advised.
"I may not look like it Sakura but I'm 80 years old. My mother once foot in what was known as Hyugan. It was a beautiful kingdom ruled by the Hyuga family for generations. They were fey that protected the forest and the animals there. Most of that Forest has been burned down by Saito's family in the past 200 years . It will never bring back the people that once guarded the forest, but I will not support a family of usurpers who committed genocide against an entire race of Fey." Shion finished wondering how Sakura would react.
"Is that how you elves look at what happened?" Sakura asked, confused.
"Yes, that's exactly how we look at it because. That's how it happened no matter how much history you tried to destroy it. Doesn't change this fact: we elves have long memories. Hyugan were once close friends of ours for generations; we were allies and supported each other in times of need. In fact, our families once intermarried — the last queen had an elf husband. Her daughter was child of two racesthe elven features were heavily prominent. She would have made an amazing queen had she not been murdered by Saito and his men. What happened to the Hyuga's is a tragedy. I will never forgive Saito's for murdering." Before she can finish there was a loud noise, the ground was shaking.
The glass in the room shattered. Everyone's wine glasses broke. I have the guest's bloodied hands. She should hurt a loud dark laughter. Both her and Sakura turned around and saw a woman with black robes and horns. She had lavender eyes, and her hair was down to her back. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. The friend that she had met all those years ago, God, was the sweet smile, and its place was a sinister smile.
"How amusing for all of you to celebrate, and I wasn't invited? Not that I could expect such a thing. After all, I just became the queen yesterday." The woman with horns said smiling at the fear that she was bringing to the room.
She couldn't believe what she was seeing. Her friend from the School of Sorcery, it couldn't be the last time she remembers her. She was so kind and sweet to everyone despite how the students treated her. This was a different person than the girl that she said goodbye to all those years ago. There was no kindness in those eyes but hatred—the kind of hatred that had festered for many years.
"The demon witch of the East," said a man terrified.
"She's going to kill us all." said a woman ducking as if that would protect her from what the witch would do to her. She looked amused by the woman trying to shield herself from her wrath.
"what do you mean where is Saito he's the rightful king of Hyg-"before the elderly man could finish he was lifted up by the woman who was using her hand she was using a spell that levitated him up in the air everyone was scared.
"Don't you mention that name again in my presence, filthy human," the woman said with venom.
Sakura looked at her without fear and she approached her. Shion didn't know if Sakura was being fearless or foolish this was a Dark Fey with elven blood extremely dangerous and not someone to take lightly.
"I will not be bullied in my own court. What have you done to the king?" Sakura demanded.
She laughed darkly, which chilled everyone, especially Shion. This was not the same girl they had befriended—Ino and Naruto. There was something dark and terrible about her; it had been 8 years since she was last seen, and her drastic change in personality was unsettling. Gone was the kind and gentle girl that they once knew; in her place was a Dark Fey.
"The usurper King is dead. I killed him myself." The woman put her hand into her robe and held up his severed head, which caused everyone to gasp. It was badly mutilated; half of his face was completely peeled off, making it a gruesome display. His face had been removed by magic, and it was barely recognizable.
"You abomination," said Kakashi as he took out his sword. He was about to strike at her but couldn't because the blade was turned to ash. Other soldiers who tried to take out their swords had weapons that were turned to ash as well! She was so powerful now that she could level this entire castle with no effort.
"You're puny little toys are nothing to me. I could crush you vermin, with a flick of my finger." To prove her point, the; man that was lifted in the air from earlier she crushed; him by flattening his entire body She let his lifeless body fall to the ground, which caused a loud thump on the ground. Everyone looked at her with fear.
Shion was so shocked at what she couldn't believe it! The brutality of how she killed the man was gruesome; it was not something she would ever see Hinata do. She hated violence. The dark Fey she sees in front of her is not the same Hinata she remembers.
Sakura wasn't afraid of anything at all. She was about to cast a spell, but not before Kushina stepped in.
"Your highness she's way too powerful for you." Kushina advised the Hinata looked at her with sadness.
" To think that I would meet you here again of all places Kushina San. I have no quarrel you or your kind stay out of my way." the witch warned.
"Hinata, why are you doing this?" Shion forced the words out. Her friend from the school of sorcery couldn't be the same girl. She didn't want to believe it.
"I don't owe you any explanation, elf," Hinata said with hatred. Shion was taken aback by Hinata's hateful tone.
"Hinata we're friends aren't we why are you doing this?" she asked again.
"I'm not friends with elves or humans for the sake what we once had. I will spare your life cross me and I'll kill you just like the rest of the vermin."Hinata said threateningly.
She walked past Shion, treating her like she was an enemy and not a friend. The question on her mind was what had happened to Hinata in the past 8 years that turned her into this dark Fey?
"That's my crown, which was a gift given to me." Sakura said. Hinata held it and looked at it, inspecting the materials it was made out of. The anger she felt, thinking about her people suffering just to mine the materials for this crown.
"No, it's not. This crown is made of materials that were stolen. I'm taking back what's rightfully mine." Hinata said, not caring about the outraged look on her face.
"That's been in my family for 200 years. You have no right!" Sakura said, outraged. She cast another spell, and Hinata countered. There was a bolt of lightning; Sakura's was green, and Hinata's was black. Bolts ricocheted even though she was nowhere near strong enough to fight Hinata—Sakura was a powerful mage herself, interestingly—she thought. The guests were running for their lives, knowing that this battle would get everyone killed. She didn't care.
the battle was leading to its inevitable conclusion Sakura collapsed due to the exhaustion of dealing with someone so much more powerful than herself. she walked towards her and made her face her she put her hand on her chin their faces were inches apart.
"I could have burned your entire castle to the ground. I could have turned your entire kingdom to cinder with a flick of a finger. You pathetic vermin, you're nothing to me. I am the queen of Hyugan. I am the Mistress of darkness and death. My land is where the fools and the weak die. If you wish to die painfully, go ahead, go to my land. You want any foolish heroes to also waste their worthless lives on glory? Send them all. Know and fear Hinata Hyuga, the queen of darkness and death." She used magic to amplify her voice so everyone in the capital heard everything she said. There was glass everywhere; it didn't matter to her that the glass pierced her bare feet. Everyone who did not flee looked at her as she crushed the crown she was carrying in her hand with the power she possessed.
Then she took one last look at the woman, the elf princess whom she was once friends with. It was almost as if they were looking at each other for an eternity, and then she vanished, accepting that she was the enemy of humans and elves alike.
