"Whatever happens. Do not give him the scroll. It must be very important, and we cannot risk Rugnak getting it." Ardith ordered Evelyn, prepared to fight if he needed. "Evelyn, don't listen to him. I need the scroll, please. Just give me it." Rugnak asked. "Why do you need it so badly?" She asked, keeping it close to her chest. "Because without it. I cannot unbind myself from my old body. And if I cannot do so by the next new moon, this current body of mine will die." He said calmly, causing her eyes to widen.

"All the more reason to not give it to you. Allowing you to be free is a horrible idea. I have no doubt in my mind you are a danger to us all. Even ignoring your past crimes. No man with your knowledge and powers should be allowed to walk earth." Ardith glared at him. "Evie please, I don't want to die. Just help me?" He looked at Evelyn, clearly trying to appeal to her, brother to sister. "Don't listen to him Evie, that is not Jonathan anymore!" Rick yelled. Causing her to hesitate.

"And what of Beni?" Evelyn asked, taking all of them by surprise. "What about Beni?" Rick looked at her, confused. "Alex told me, you showed Beni some gold last night as was speaking to him in Greek. What were you planning with him?" She asked. Rick clenched his teeth, realizing his 'buddy' was making deals against him yet again. "Oh really?" He turned to face the man, only to realize to his shock. Beni had stolen his gun. And was now aiming it right at his face. "Beni you bastard. I give you a second chance and this is how you repay me?" Rick growled.

"Sorry O'Connell. Please understand, I truly regret this. But I have no choice right now." Beni said, keeping the gun aimed. "Now Evelyn, it is best you give the scroll to Rugnak. Or else my hand will be forced, and I will shoot." He added. "Don't do it Evelyn." Rick ordered. "He is too much of a coward to actually shoot me." He smirked, noticing Beni's finger was not even on the trigger. "That may be so. But I am no coward." Rugnak spoke up, causing them to look, and Evelyn gasped. To her horror Alex had walked in to see what was happening, and Rugnak had grabbed him, aiming a blade at him.

"Mum, what is happening?" Alex asked, looking scared and confused. "Alex, it will be okay. Just stay calm." Rick said, looking at Rugnak. "The scroll. Now." Rugnak said. "Give it to Beni. And once i am sure we are safe I will let the kid go." He added. Evelyn glared at him, then relented and handed the scroll to Beni. Beni took it, keeping the gun aimed. As he and Rugnak made their way to the door. Rugnak held Alex close till he reached the door, then pushed Alex into Evelyn's arms and ran off with Beni. Beni handed the scroll as they ran out of the hotel.

"Alex you okay?" Evelyn asked hugging him tight. He nodded. "Good, you stay here. I'll get bastard one and bastard two." Rick ran after Beni and Rugnak with Ardith. As they chased the two, Rick tackled Beni knocking him to the ground. But was unable to catch Rugnak. "Get off me!" Beni yelled, trying to push him off, as Rick punched him in the nose breaking it.

"How much gold was he offering you, huh!?" Rick yelled, aiming his gun at the man's face. "None. No gold..." Beni said softly. "Rick, I don't think he was betraying us for gold. Or even his own safety." Evelyn arrived with Alex. Several hotel patrons watched the scene unfold, as if unsure to intervene, or just stand back. "Then why would he help Rugnak?" Rick looked at her.

"The scroll said when Rugnak returned. So would his brother. And at the moment. Only one person here is back from the dead. That is not Beni. But his brother Keres." Evelyn explained. Rick puased, then looked at Beni. "Technically I am both Beni and Keres right now. You may call me whichever name you prefer though.: He said softly, wiping the blood from his face.

"So it wasn't greed, or even cowardice this time. But, familial bonds." Rick understood. As angry as he was. He, could not fully blame him this time. Willing to do whatever you must to protect your family. Especally when you would not even be alive if not for that family member. "Well fine then. He took our son hostage? We take his brother hostage. Get up." Rick ordered him, yanking him to his feet by his arm.

"He may have the scroll. But it is not the only one he needs for the ritual. I translated enough to know. There is two scrolls. Half the spell is in Greek on that scroll. The other half is on another scroll hidden somewhere. In Egyptian. We may be able to find him before he locates the second scroll." Ardith explained. "As for Keres...he is bound to Rugnak. As long as Rugnak lives. As does he. But if we manage to kill Rugnak. Keres will die too. There is a fifty percent chance this will kill Beni. But also a fifty percent chance. Beni will just return to normal. With little to no memory of his life as Keres." He added, leading them outside.

"We will head to the library. One of my men works there now, and may be able to check the files. If the scroll has been uncovered. It would be there. If not, there may be clues of its location." He said, gesturing for them to follow. "Rick tied Beni/Keres' hands behind his back and led him to the library with them. Alex stayed close to Evelyn, as she tried her best to explain to him what was happening. "So uncle Jonathan is dead..." He frowned, as she nodded. To be honest. She was not sure. If what Keres said about himself was true. Perhaps that meant part of Jonathan was also still alive. But, he would die soon.
