Mr Fernsby was aware that the island had many disappearances, another reason to use this island. The noise led him to the kitchen and he saw something written on the wall. He read what he saw. "Get out"? He sighed. He was in no mood for pranks.
Lena went to check on Mr Fernsby, only to find his room empty. She was pleased. She saw a tie on the bed and grabbed it. She was about to leave when something else caught her fancy. She made her way to the suitcase. It seemed that the lock on it was already opened. She looked back at the door, then at the case. Lena knew it wasn't her business, but she was really curious. Perhaps one, little peak wouldn't hurt. She opened the case and was surprised by what she found. It was an egg, it was huge. How could something that big be kept in a case. She didn't know why, but she felt her inner feline instincts kick in. It warned her to get as far away as possible.
"GET AWAY FROM MY CASE"!
Lena gasped and saw the man rush and close the case. "Is this a scam you run, lead people to the island then snoop through their belongings"?
Before Lena could react, he grabbed her wrist. He was certainly strong, at least his grip was.
"Let me make this clear. Don't mess with that egg".
"What sort of egg is it? I didn't know there was one possibly that big".
"It's classified".
"Classified? You brought this into Miss Lenoir's house".
"You told me I could do my work, unbothered".
"I was curious".
His expression was dark. "You ever hear the phrase; curiosity killed the cat"?
She backed away.
"Now get out"!
She left without another word.
Axel needed to get this egg hatched. Thankfully, he already had stage one planned out.
As for Lena, she was scolding Lena. "Seriously, Lena. Getting caught, what were you thinking"?
"Miss Lenoir, there's something odd in that case. It was an egg".
Simone crossed her arms. "His work is not our business. At least you got the tie".
"That's what I keep saying. He didn't notice the tie; he was too focused on the egg. And I got a horrible feeling around it".
Simone put a hand on her shoulder. "Lena. You need to calm down. Even if that man is a threat of some sort, he won't be after tonight".
Lena nervously nodded.
Mr Fernsby was out with the case and far away from the house. He needed to warm the egg up, before it could hatch. It seemed Weyland was clever enough to take precautions. They made sure to freeze these eggs and only warming them up could free them. Thankfully, his boss installed a warming system, specifically for this. Before he could put his hand on the egg, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked back and was taken aback by what he saw. A pirate. A pirate made of rotting flesh and some bones. He appeared to be a captain.
"Morgan Moonscar"?
The zombie only grunted.
Axel was not amused. "Listen buddy, I know that the supernatural is nonsense. I'll prove it".
He grabbed the head and ripped it off, only to see there was no person.
Axel dropped the head and shock, and then his arms went all over the place. "Impossible. An actual zombie. Does not compute. Does not compute".
The undead captain took out his sword, but it wasn't him he had his sights on but the egg. Axel suddenly got back in control when he saw him go to the egg. Before Moonscar could deliver the sword, he was grabbed by Axel. The zombie couldn't do much.
"I'm so close. I'm not about to let some undead pirate ruin it all".
He heard more moaning. He saw more zombies and noticed something odd. Some were dressed in Civil War uniforms from the South. Others looked dressed more modernly.
"What's going on here"?
He saw the zombies come at him.
"What do they want"? Then he looked at the egg. He could easily take these slow walkers. But he couldn't risk the egg. He was forced to flee.
Back at the house Lena, was cooking dinner, when a message appeared on the wall. Not the one that said get out, something else.
She was content to ignore them. They tried to get in her way before and failed, but when the message was finished, she dropped the dish in shock.
The message said BEWARE EGG.
Lena knew something was off. These were people who she delivered a fate worse than death to. Did she really get a warning from them.
She tried to bring this up with Simone. She only sighed. "Lena. You're telling me that the ones we drained the life out, is concerned for our wellbeing. They wanted to repay us for what we did to them. It's obviously a pathetic attempt to end us. If the egg was really a threat, they'd probably let us suffer a horrific fate and the hands of it".
Lena knew Simone had a point. Perhaps she was right. But she continued to worry.
As for Axel, no matter where he went, they pursued him. A human would find this terrifying. He only found it irritating. He looked around. It seemed he finally lost them.
He needed to do it now before they came back. It took a few minutes, but he was able to warm up the egg.
He contacted his boss. But since, he couldn't use his own phone, he contacted him using himself. After a few rings, the face of his boss appeared in front of him. Pale skin, a wrinkled forehead and a blonde comb over. He looked unhappy. "What took you so long"?
"There were delays. But it's finally ready".
Phibes gave a smile so scary, that Alex would be intimidated if he wasn't an android.
"Excellent. I'll look through your eyes and watch the show. I do enjoy live horror. Those fools at Weyland-Yutani refused to hire me because I was apparently mad and I made them uncomfortable. I'll be sure to show them the results of their work up close".
Axel nodded. "For now, I know the perfect host.
The sky was orange. Soon the sun would go down fully.
Jacques chuckled. "Soon the real fun begins".
"Admiring the sunset"?
He turned to see who would be the latest victim of tonight.
"Mr Fersnbey. I'm afraid I can't take you home. It's nearly night. But Simone and Lena will happily give you a roof over your head for tonight".
"Don't worry, I don't plan to leave".
"Really. I'm guessing you didn't see Morgan Moonscar or any other zombies".
"Actually, I did. It was a serious shock. Actual zombies. I thought I would short circuit".
"Short what"?
"It's not important. Anyway, there's a harvest moon tonight. Looking forward to it"?
Jacques chuckled. "More than you think".
Axel nodded. "You seem like a kind man Jacques. A hard worker. I admire it".
"That's awful kind of you to say".
Axel chuckled. "I guess I'm lucky that my boss didn't add guilt to me system".
Jacques looked confused. "What does that even mean".
Jacques backed away when Axel smiled at him. That smile, it was one he wore himself.
Jacques glared. "I'd advice you go back to the house before things get unpleasant".
"You won't remember this talk anyway. Look behind you"?
When he did, he was something get on his boat. "What the? What is that thing"? It looked like a crab or spider with the tail of a snake.
"A Facehugger".
Jacques looked back to see Axel smirk at him. That same smirk, he used so often. As it went for his face, Axel walked away to let it do it's work. He made his way back to the house.
