Rodolphus looked up at his family, his exhaustion giving way to a tired but contented smile. "Thank you," he murmured. "I couldn't have done it without you."
The baby's first cry filled the room with a wave of joy and relief. Rodolphus cradled the tiny bundle in his arms, feeling an overwhelming surge of love.
"Welcome to the world," he whispered, his tears of happiness mingling with the sweat on his face. "You're so loved."
Tom placed a gentle hand on Rodolphus's shoulder. "You've done something incredible, Rodolphus. We're all here for you."
The room buzzed with sighs of relief and murmurs of congratulations. Rodolphus's family surrounded him, their love and support a palpable presence.
As the evening settled, they gathered around the bed. Regulus gently took the baby from Rodolphus, cradling him with tender care.
"He's perfect," Regulus said, his voice filled with awe. "Just like his dad."
Sirius wrapped an arm around Rodolphus, pressing a kiss to his temple. "You were amazing," he whispered. "I'm so proud of you."
Lucius, still misty-eyed, leaned in to kiss Rodolphus softly. "You've brought so much joy into our lives, Rodolphus. I love you."
Overwhelmed with emotion, Rodolphus reached out to hold Lucius's hand. "I love you all," he said, his voice breaking. "Thank you for being my family."
Regulus handed the baby back to Rodolphus, who gazed down at his son with adoration. "He's going to be surrounded by so much love," he murmured. "With all of you as his family."
Sirius smiled, gently stroking the baby's tiny hand. "We'll always be here for both of you."
Lucius nodded, determination in his eyes. "We're in this together, every step of the way."
Regulus leaned in, resting his head on Rodolphus's shoulder. "You're not just our family, you're our heart," he said softly.
The four of them settled into a comfortable silence, the baby nestled safely in Rodolphus's arms. The room was filled with warmth and love, a testament to their deep bond.
As night deepened, they climbed into bed, creating a protective circle around Rodolphus and the baby. Lucius on one side, Sirius on the other, and Regulus at the foot, their presence enveloped them in a cocoon of comfort.
Rodolphus closed his eyes, feeling safe and cherished. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "For everything."
"We love you," Lucius replied, his voice steady and reassuring. "Always."
With those words, Rodolphus drifted into a peaceful sleep, his heart full of love and gratitude. Surrounded by his family, he knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together.
And that was all he ever needed.
