Author's Note: Thank you so much to those who have left comments on chapter one! Your comments keep me going! I now present to you chapter two! It's longer and way more comedic and humorous! I apologize in advance for the sad backstory, but I am sucker for tragic lore!

If you asked Misty who was her favorite legal guardian out of the ten she's had, she would confidently have to say Dawn was her absolute favorite. Since infancy, she's been housed and housed again from one place to another. She had three older sisters, Daisy, Violet, and Lily, but they were living with a distant relative, and taking in an extra child would mean having another to feed. Most people could not provide for four children, so Misty hardly grew up alongside her older sisters. However, her sisters were not at fault, the four of them were all innocent children who suddenly became orphaned. Emmett, their father, died from a shipwreck when their mother, Evelina, was pregnant with Misty. Maybe it was due to the grief of losing her husband, which led to concentrated stress and panic, but Evelina died from childbirth complications six months after Misty was born. This left fifteen-year-olds Daisy, Violet, and Lily alone with their baby sister…Fortunately, in the beginning years, a few people were willing to take the four of them in, but at the cost of separation.

The first person to take her in was her paternal grandmother's friend, Tabatha, who was already struggling to make ends meet living by herself. Tabatha was as stereotypical as one can be when it comes to living the spinster lifestyle. She never married, she had an assortment of pets, and she was charmingly eccentric, among other qualities. Still, Misty loved the woman who raised her until age five. With Tabatha, Misty was fed more servings than necessary, she learned how to ride a bike thanks to her guidance, she would go along with Tabatha on outings, and Misty was always allowed to let herself get dirty and messy from playing and having fun. Misty cherished her time with Tabatha, but Tabatha has always been sickly, and a few weeks after Misty turned five years old, Tabatha passed away in her sleep.

Back then, Misty was only five years old, and not knowing what was wrong with Grandmama Tabatha, she went outside, screaming as loud as she could until the neighbors heard her voice and started coming over with concern. Only one of her neighbors, Grace, bothered to comfort the sobbing girl as she was just told by the grown-ups that Grandmama Tabatha was dead. She is no more, and Misty will be rehoused somewhere else. Misty stayed with Grace, her husband, and two older sons for a month before she was finally assigned to another household.

At the second household, she experienced so much abuse for such a small child that once the authorities got word of what occurred, she was rehoused again after six months. From then on, it seemed like Misty would only be staying temporarily for a few months with her legal guardians, waiting until her time was over and she would start anew at another household. It continued like this until she was ten years old…The social worker at the time, Candice, was Misty's favorite, and she told Misty that there was a new person for Misty to meet. If the interview went well, Misty could be with her.

At the time, Misty thought nothing about this whole ordeal. This would be any other interview, and besides, it's not like Misty would be staying for more than six months. But, when she met Dawn for the first time, something within her, hidden deep, told her that Dawn was not like the other adults. She was special, and Misty was right, Dawn was indeed special.

Just like Tabatha, Dawn claimed herself to be set for life as a spinster. Having never been married before and having no intentions of doing so in the near future, Dawn promised Misty that she would make sure her mind, heart, and soul dedicated everything to Misty's upbringing as there would be no other person for Dawn to worry about but her. Dawn was thirty back then, barely twenty years older than Misty, but people always mistook Dawn as Misty's older sister instead of her parent.

But Misty didn't mind being told that she and Dawn could pass off as sisters. Her older sisters all adored Dawn, and even though her older sisters could adopt her now after the three of them became twenty-eight, Misty was too fond of Dawn to let her go. However, Dawn wanted to honor Misty's biological family, so she made sure that every month, Misty would go to Cerulean City in Kanto to visit her sisters. She would spend the weekend there before coming back to Veilstone City in Sinnoh.

Misty simply adored Dawn. Dawn never cherished a person more than she did for Misty. It was love at first sight for the two of them. The moment Dawn walked in with a large bright grin on her face upon seeing Misty for the first time, Misty's heart knew that this was it…This was who Misty would happily spend the rest of her youth with. Misty loved everything about Dawn, but Dawn's smile was something out of the ordinary. Dawn had the sort of smile that belonged on holiday cards. Dawn was by no means a supermodel, but her smile was warm, and one could not help but feel loved and cherished whenever she smiled at them. When Dawn was truly happy, her chubby cheeks would pop out even more, and her eyes crinkled until you could barely notice that her eyes weren't entirely closed off. And, for Misty, those special smiles of euphoric bliss were only given to her and no one else. No one else in Veilstone City saw the other smiles Dawn possessed, and it was a shame, too, because Misty never believed how powerful a single smile could be until she experienced Dawn's smile.

It was a Friday morning, and Misty was getting ready for school. She was a freshman, a ninth-grade student at Veilstone High School, and fortunately, her school was only a twenty-minute bike ride away. After changing into her outfit for school, she walked downstairs to the dining room, where she found Dawn with shopping bags placed all over the room.

"What's with the shopping, Ma," Misty asked Dawn, gesturing to the shopping bags in various assortments of shapes, sizes, and colors with different logos and brand names on them.

Although Dawn was not Misty's biological mother, nor was she her adoptive mother, Misty wanted something respectful to call her guardian. Madam was too formal for her taste, but after hearing Paul call Dawn that each and every time they met, Misty decided to copy Paul. Ma'am was an alternative version of Madam, but even that was too much, so Misty opted for Ma. However, Ash and Paul assumed Ma was short for Mama, and Misty never bothered to correct them on their assumption. It was easier having people view Dawn and Misty as a true mother-and-daughter pair.

Dawn giggled, "Well, looks like the cat is out of the bag…I wanted to hold this off until you came home from school, but knowing Ash, he'd probably tell you during school." She picked up a few of the shopping bags and handed them to Misty, "Why don't you look through them and figure out for yourself?"

Looking through the bags, Misty found the contents inside, and there was a diversity in the items. Some of the notable items to mention were a few bathing suits, toiletries, sleepwear, formal and casual dresses, pairs of pants, shirts, and blouses, a full-face snorkel, aloe vera gel, sunscreen, and a first aid kit.

She looked up at Dawn before looking down at the bags and then looking up at her once again. She pondered for a minute before she came up with her response, "Are we going somewhere for summer break?"

"Ding, ding, ding! Winner winner, chicken dinner," Dawn cheered! "You've hit the jackpot, my dear."

"Wait, really? Are we actually going somewhere this summer? Seriously!"

Dawn nodded her head. "Yes, we are!" She walked to the living room and came back with an envelope. She handed it to Misty with an expectant look on her face. "Open it!"

Misty opened the envelope and pulled out plane tickets to Johto. She reread the tickets three times before shaking her head lightheartedly at Dawn, "I can't believe this! Johto? It's been a while since I've been there!"

"Do you mind that we're going there?"

Misty shook her head, "Oh, I don't mind. I love that we're going to Johto! I'm just wondering why now, that's all."

Dawn chuckled, "It's a funny story, really, it is…It's between us adults, though, since Mister Paul and I almost went at each other's throats, but you can thank him for being the main contributor to this vacation! Without him meticulously planning everything, we'd not be going to Johto at all…I suggested we go somewhere as a group, and he polished the travel itinerary!"

At this, Misty's eyes widened, "Really? Sir Paul did this for us?"

Dawn nodded her head in confirmation, "Yes, he did! If you don't believe me, you could ask him yourself, but knowing him, he'll let me take all the credit for it."

Misty shrugged, "I don't need to ask him, Ash will tell me everything himself."

A teasing smile made its way to Dawn's face, "I suppose so...Speaking of Ash, can you do me a favor?"

Misty raised an eye eyebrow, "What kind of favor?"

Dawn waved her hands, shaking her arms. "It's nothing serious, but I was wondering if you could act like you didn't hear the news from me already. Paul already Ash on Monday, and I told you today, but I want you to invite the two of them over for dinner. Then, I'll present the tickets to you again in front of Paul and Ash…"

"Wait," Misty interrupted, "I'm the one that's going to invite them over for dinner? Can't we just call them right now?"

"We could," Dawn nodded, "but I just want to see the look on Paul's face when he realizes that I'll be calling him out as the mastermind behind all of this. And, besides, Paul can't ever seem to say no to you."

"If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were into him."

"Don't say that," Dawn retorted, "I'll never marry him even if he was the last man in the solar system. Our galaxy's got plenty of planets, and I am sure that there's a nice alien man out there for me."

Misty argued, "Weren't you the one who called Paul a grumpy outer space alien overlord hellbent on tormenting teenagers and their attractive single women guardians?"

"Do you really want Sir Paul to be your Papa Paul? Misty, my love, can you really imagine me and him together as you and Ash's mother and father?"

Upon receiving this question from Dawn, Misty's overactive imagination had let loose, and multiple images were conjured up in her mind. The first image was of Paul bending down on one knee and proposing to Dawn with a ring. The Paul she knew would never be with something gaudy and tacky, but nonetheless, the ring he gave Dawn was the ugliest ring in the world. It was something suitable for the bride of a dark and gloomy master of a haunted house, and Dawn was certainly no mistress of a vampire household. The second image was of Paul and Dawn's wedding day, the two of them wearing matching outfits befitting of a vampire tyrant and his human bride, whom he will soon turn into a vampire by biting her neck. Ash was the best man, and Misty was the maid of honor, their outfits were monotone, black, and ugly beyond compare. They were all alone in a cave with all sorts of creepy insects as the audience watched the ceremony occur. The third image was of Dawn and Paul after their three-year-long honeymoon because Paul has snatched Dawn away, and she will never see the daylight again until three years later. Dawn has become a vampire now, with all of the color from her ivory complexion having been long gone and all of the magic of her personality disappearing since Paul has drained the life out of her and replaced Misty's beloved Dawn with a monstrous woman who only shrieked and sneered at Ash and Misty. The fourth image was a pregnant vampire, Dawn, bossing Misty around while Ash was trapped in Paul's underground dungeon as punishment for his disobedience. Paul cackled, saying that Ash doesn't need to worry about being alone because once the first baby is born, Misty will be locked up with him. The fifth and last image was of Dawn and Paul, smiling proudly with their fangs out as they watched their twenty-five children taunt Ash and Misty, who were both imprisoned in the dungeon. Misty and Ash have both shriveled up, and only time will tell when they will become the children's next meal. The end.

Misty cringed, haunted by the movie played in the theater of her inner mind, "No, Ma…I do not want Sir Paul as my Papa…Poor Ash, I don't know how he does it."

"Me either, my child." Beckoning Misty over with her finger, Dawn gestured to the dining table, "Come on, let's eat. Breakfast is most likely cold right now, so I'll heat it up. You just sit down, stay still, and look pretty for me, won't you?"

Misty sat down, patiently waiting for Dawn to microwave the food. She bit her lip, hesitant to ask a rather strange question to her guardian, but ever since she imagined Dawn and Paul's marriage, she could not help but wonder what were Dawn's thoughts on this particular matter.

Misty began, "Say, Ma…You don't think Sir Paul has an underground dungeon in his basement, do you." A sheepish smile graced her face as she spoke out her answer.

Hearing this, Dawn chuckled, rolling her eyes at the absurdity of this notion. "You'll have to ask Ash for the answer to that question," she continued, "just kidding! But, seriously, I highly doubt he'd be so foolish enough as to have his underground dungeon in the basement of his own house…I mean, how obvious can you be with that? I bet his underground dungeon is in Snowpoint City, and he's dug up a bunch of underground tunnels connecting Veilstone City to Snowpoint City! Snowpoint City and Veilstone City are eight hours away by train, so that man must have programmed superspeed scooters to allow him to travel back and forth between these two cities in a few minutes."

Misty gulped, "You really think so?"

Dawn shook her head, an amused smile appearing. "No way! I was only teasing you; I don't think he'd ever go through the trouble to do all of that! Last time I checked, he and I are both thirty-five and something like that would take decades to do if it's a one-person operation! Why would you think of such a thing? Sure, he's meaner than most people, but I am sure he means well…I hate his guts, sure, but Ash is far from neglected, and I do not think Candice would have kept Ash in Paul's clutches if he was abusive."

"You're right, Ma…I am sorry…I don't know why I even thought of this. I shouldn't have asked you."

"It's fine," Dawn assured her, placing Misty's breakfast in front of her. "To tell you the truth, this gives me more fodder for my collection of crazy conspiracy theories about Paul! I don't know why, but I like how many backstories I can come up with to explain why he is the way he is."

"Honestly, someone might think you're in love with him."

Dawn groaned, "You're going to spoil my dinner if you keep that up, Misty! I will be nobody's missus; I am my own mistress, and that is final."

"Definitely, things are better off that way."

"Indeed, they are."

The two of them spent the remainder of their shared breakfast discussing about everything they'd like to do if they were in Alola. Truth be told, Misty was a little disappointed upon hearing that they could have gone to Alola instead if it wasn't for the fact that the summertime was the ideal season to visit Alola. Still, she understood Paul's concern for being overwhelmed by the sheer amount of fellow tourists there.

Once they were down eating, Dawn washed the dishes while Misty cleaned up the dining table. After cleaning up, she sat down on the living room sofa, and there were more shopping bags scattered around. Misty opened a few of them and found several sets of lingerie inside.

"Why is this super padded?" Misty said to herself out loud, poking the heavily padded, lacey mint green brasserie in her hand.

"That's because it's a push-up bra," Dawn explained. "A push-up is heavily padded because the padding pushes the breasts together and upwards to bring more cleavage than you usually get from a regular bra. The padding is usually located in the bottom and outer corners of the cup, and it's angled to the sides. With this special padding, your breasts look rounder and make them appear fuller. The amount of lifting that you want can be adjusted, but it depends on the style of the push-up bra. Some provide more lift while others provide less lift." Taking out another lacy brasserie, this time it was a pastel blue one with white polka dots, she added, "I like wearing them I naturally don't have any cleavage of my own." She placed the bra back inside the bag. Cupping her breasts with both hands, she let out a dry, self-deprecating laugh, "It's a great thing that I am single for life because otherwise, my future husband would divorce me on the claims of false advertisement." She sighed to herself, "It's not my fault that not all of us don't have great tits."

"Please, don't say that about yourself. I won't let you talk to my guardian like that," Misty pleaded, "I love you just the way that you are. There isn't even a single atom that needs to be arranged. You don't need to be busty like my older sisters to be beautiful."

Dawn grinned, "Thanks, I really needed to hear that." She shrugged her shoulders, "I already paid for them, so I still have to wear them when we're at Johto."

Misty fingered the bra in her hands, "They are really cute. It'd be a waste not to wear them."

"Right?" Eyeing Misty up and down, she clapped her hands together, "It's settled then! Before summer break starts, let's go lingerie shopping! I'll see to it that you have some cute underwear of your own."

"You don't have to do this for me."

Dawn waved her off, "Nonsense! How can I let a child go without adequate undergarments? The basic ones are needed for regular wear, but sometimes, you'll need certain underwear for certain outfits and besides…It's an act of self-love and self-respect to have underwear that makes you feel confident and secure in yourself. Even if it's for your eyes only, you should still smile to yourself, knowing that you treat yourself well!"

"Okay, if you say so," Misty said in defeat.

"No need to worry about anything, my child! Leave everything to us, adults. You're a child, and you deserve to live out your youth to the fullest."

Whenever Dawn said there was no need to worry, there was something to worry about, but Misty decided to keep this fact to herself. Dawn truly looked out for Misty in her best interests, and if it meant going lingerie shopping together, then so be it. Besides, Misty was curious about the powerful effects of a push-up bra and wanted to see how it worked herself. She always looked forward to going out with Dawn, and this will be no exception. Hopefully, they don't run into Paul and Ash in the process…Every time they were at Veilstone Galleria, the largest shopping mall in the eastern part of Sinnoh, Paul and Ash happened to be there as well.

Misty took her bike outside, preparing for the ride to school, but before she could start on her journey, Dawn came forward to the front porch.

"Misty, you forgot your lunch," Dawn called out, running out to place a lunch bag in the basket of Misty's bicycle.

"Thanks," Misty said.

"Of course, I can't have you starving on my watch," Dawn teased. Admiring the bike, Dawn added, "It's a great thing Tabatha left you that bike to inherit…Remember the first bike I got you? Ash somehow got it electrocuted…Goodness, that boy sure is something, but we're all the more merrier to have him in our lives, wouldn't you agree."

"Yeah," Misty agreed.

Dawn patted Misty on the back, "Well, I won't keep you from heading to school. I'll see you for dinner, and I expect Paul and Ash to arrive there as well."

"Of course, I will make sure that will happen," Misty promised.

"That's my girl! And what a good girl you are," Dawn complimented, planting a kiss on Misty's forehead.

Misty blushed, planting a kiss on Dawn's forehead in return. Dawn was significantly shorter than Misty even when they first met, with Misty being ten and Dawn being thirty. But that did not matter as they were family, and every family looked different.

Dawn waved at Misty as she took off, and Misty waved back until they were both out of each other's line of sight. With a good morning like today, surely, she'll have a great day at school as well. It was going to be a challenge having to pretend not to know that she and Ash were going to spend an entire summer together, but she was sure she could manage it just fine. Besides, it's Friday, so there was the weekend to look forward to.

To be continued…

Author's Note: Bahahaha, poor Misty! How will she look forward to dinner with Paul and Ash after imagining the horrors of Paul being her Papa? Please do let me know what sort of scenes/moments/chapters you'd like to happen! This story is not canon to the Pokémon universe, so my story's Sinnoh geography is all over the place!

On another note, push-up bras are, indeed, false advertisements! And why must bras have more padding than necessary?

By the way, if anyone has ever watched Kaichou wa Maid-mama! and Ouran High School Club, then perhaps you will understand a few of the references I've placed here! I love shoujo and josei anime and manga so much! I hope my stories give off a girly female gaze feeling as well!

Barbie movies will be referenced soon enough because I love them and because Dawn's going to force everyone to watch them!
