The next few days were spent job hunting. Renee hadn't apologized so Bella and Edward were trying to get jobs quick. They needed to find a permanent housing arrangement and get out of the hotel.

Both found jobs at the Florida Aquarium in the city, Edward as a tour guide and Bella at the information desk. It provided her an opportunity to sit as her pregnancy progressed. The job situation was really a blessing. Pay was poor, but they'd both be gaining experience in their chosen fields. Training the first day involved a tour, including a behind the scenes look at the otters. The job was easy. It gave Bella a lot of time to think. They even allowed her to use the computer for her apartment hunt.

It'd been a week and a half since she talked to her mother. Renee could be just as stubborn as her when she wanted to be. Her flightiness didn't seem to apply to her hard-headedness. Bella was wavering, not because she thought she was wrong, but because she was trying to be a better person. Being pregnant gave her a lot of perspective on what is important.

"I think I found one in our price range. It's near the school, so we're all set up for the spring semester. It says we'd have to sign a 6 month lease." He looked over her shoulder as he took his break.

"Thank you, Mr. Edward." A young boy called out, waving big. Edward was amassing a fan club of little ones. He was quickly becoming the most popular tour guide. His enthusiasm really showed through when he talked.

"Can you set up an appointment?"

"I already set one up. Figured it was at least worth a look. We can head there after work tomorrow." Edward snuck a kiss.

"Thanks for doing all this. I love you squishy."

"I'll let you two have a minute." The leasing agent left them alone in the one-bedroom apartment. Bella thought it was a good size and had a nice, open layout.

"No way in hell." She was surprised by the firmness in his tone. His face looked pinched.

"Why? This is a really decent place. Did you see the pool? Bean would love the pool."

"Did you see the empty kegs and beer bottles all over the place? Did you see all the dead plants?"

"Did you see all that cabinet space? Did you notice all the great natural light?" She stubbornly responded, firm in her stance. This was the first and only place they'd been able to afford.

"The gate is broken. How can I possibly feel safe with you and bean alone here?" He took her by the shoulders and looked into her eyes. "We will find something. I promise you, but not here." The glare she had in place softened a little.

"Can we at least-?" She glanced down at her ringing phone. "It's my mom…Hey mom"

"Oh Bella, I have the most wonderful news." Bella raised her eyebrows at Edward as her mother babbled on. "Phil got a job with the weather channel. It's only temporary, but if they like him, they may hire him on permanently."

"Uh congrats. Was there any other reason you called?"

"Well, no." She gritted her teeth. Edward pulled her close, rubbing his hand up and down her back. "We'll be moving to Atlanta for six months. Charlie says you're still looking for a place. I told him you knew you were welcome here."

"Did I mom?" She asked pointedly. "Certainly didn't feel that way when you went against my decision."

"Are you still mad about that?" Her mother stomped over her feelings yet again. How had she not noticed this pattern before? She just had to face the fact that her mother would not be apologizing.

"When do you leave?"

"This weekend. We're packing right now. Phil is just so excited. I can't believe my husband is going to be a TV star." Bella checked on Edward before she said the next words.

"We'll move in on Monday." It hurt to say it, but they really needed to save their money. She rolled her eyes as Edward did a subtle fist pump. She hung up a minute later after goodbyes. "I still think this would've been a good place, so don't congratulate yourself too much."

"It's just the money. If we could've found a decent place on budget, I would be all for it."

"I just don't want mom to think she won, but I'm doing the same to you. I'm sorry."

"I'm OK with losing to you occasionally." She giggled as he began kissing all over her neck. "Let's get out of here."
