You know if someone told me I would come to love and hate Reddit for what it does to a person I would have laughed. Now though I don't know what to think.

"MEAT BICYCLE"

Turning towards where the sound came from, I'm once more made aware of my situation. That being a prisoner within a cage clearly made for something smaller than a human while my captors chopped and ate the other captive.

You may be wondering why I love and hate Reddit now when there are literal cannibals eating in front of me and I'm dessert well it's simple. I'm only in this situation because of it.

For you see I was browsing posts before bed when I found one that I bothered to answer.

-What is the last game you played and what power would you have that fits with the theme of the game?

-Borderlands was the last game I played so my power would be being a siren. A siren that could drain the life force of other creatures then in turn use said life force to not only enhance myself but also create items and eventually other creatures.

Seeing the clear psycho with the mask that represents the borderlands franchise tells me all I need to know about where I find myself.

Then the translucent screen in front of me tells me all I need to know about my powers.

Like I stated I can drain the life force of creatures. There's no level-ups in the way there are in the game. Instead, I unlock more aspects of my powers by spending essence.

For now, I could enhance my strength, durability, drain speed and create white/common items. For the rest, I can only marvel at the literal mountains of corpses ill leave behind if I'm ever to unlock them all.

Enhancement

-Strength: 1.0

Upgrade cost 100 essence

-Durability: 1.0

Upgrade cost 100 essence

-Drain Speed: 1.0

Upgrade cost 1,000 essence

-Multi Drain locked.

Unlock cost 5,000.

Mentally selecting strength brings up a description stating that upgrading it would increase it by 0.1. Same with durability and that speed, agility would be the mean of both of them which to me make sense. After all, if your leg muscles are stronger then you'll be able to propel your body faster.

Next up is my creation ability and oh boy would that take a while to get fully unlocked.

Sending a mental command for the window to close I refocus on my current situation.

I'm in cargo pants with a black T-shirt and pants on. These are not the clothes I went to sleep in though I'll worry about that later.

There's only 6 of us in cages now from the original 13 so I think dinner is halfway done. With no other feasible way out, I reach through the bars, grip onto the cage next to me, and drag it closer.

Once its close enough I reach inside and activate drain on the feral man within.

His or the others screams would have alerted my captors if they weren't busy screaming about poop trains or my favorite quote so far.

"I like my treasure like I like my baby steaks… rare."

So yeah, it was cool in the game but now that it's my new real world I'd like to get out of here.

Once my drain ends after about 5 seconds, I see that like Tyreen's drain my victim turns into stone with bits of eridium sticking out here and there.

Opening my UI I see that I now had a whopping 1 essence.

Closing it I focus on creating a gun. As I feel something leave me, I see modes of light gathering within my palm. Once the last light gathers, I'm holding probably the uglies and most useless gun I would ever see, but for now it was my ticket out of here.

Thankfully it seems my guns are created pre-loaded so putting it next to the lock I pull the trigger. With 1 bullet not being enough I unload 2 more before pushing on the door opening it. Hiding the gun under me, I hold the door shut and wait a minute or so in case the gun shots alerted anyone.

Crawling out I stretch once on my feet before turning to face the other captives staring between my face and the gun I created. Some have begun screaming about in their psycho speak things I don't understand though there is one who speaks human.

"Look friend let me out and I'll introduce you to Roland. You know the leader of the Crimson Raiders. We could really use someone like you to help in the fight against Jack."

I think about that for a moment. Do I really want to join the raiders and bring the fight to Jack? I don't think long before reaching into his cage and draining him.

The answer is obviously no. At least not now.

I'm in a whole new world with powers that give me infinite potential. Joining them now would lead to me completing quests and shit that wouldn't benefit me at all.

Maybe I would if I'd get XP, but I don't have that function. Instead, ill travel across Pandora killing everything I see while seeing what this new world has to offer.

Though I do want to meet the Vault hunters eventually. Especially the sirens and maybe drain them if I feel like it.

Who am I kidding I'm totally draining them.

Finishing up the rest of my meal I try to create a shield. Emphasis on try as I get nothing.

Sighing I look around the room to see if there's any other way to get out than trough the roughly 20-25 psychos munching on my old cell mates.

Sneaking along the wall of this broken-down warehouse I see my ticket out of here, a hole in the wall. It's pretty small but I should be able to fit through.

Sneaking towards it I managed to get there without alerting anyone. Crawling through I'm greeted by pandoras 2 suns and cold winds.

Looking around I believe I'm somewhere in tundra express what with the mountains, snow and varkids walking around.

Deciding I didn't want to be near here when the psychos realized they were out of food I booked it in a direction that looked the least deadly.

After about 20 or so minutes I stop and marvel at just how big this place is now that its real. After a minute of that I focus on the job at hand. Finding food.

Right now, I'm nowhere strong enough to take on a bandit camp or a hive of varkids but there are bound to be some roaming bandits here and there. Though I guess having a better vantage point would be good so turning to the closest mountain I begin ascending.

After an hour or so I'm now overlooking everything that isn't a mountain, and I see a whole lot of nothing. Theres really only varkids with the occasional camp. Gues only large groups could live out here given the varkid infestation.

Though not all hope was lost as I see a change of scenery off in the distance.

If I'm remembering it right that should be how to get to three horns. There's probably more variety of enemies though would a burrow of skags be easier than a nest of varkids.

The answer is no it would not be. With that genius conclusion I begin looking for relatively small varkids nests. Relative being a loose word as from here I see nests that are a few stories tall and in other places dozens if not hundreds of small nests grouped together.

I even see a small mountain with its peak flattened out which is where Madame Von Bartlesby must live. Yeah, I won't go anywhere near that for a while.

Getting an ideal I focus my power and make a spyglass to aid in my search.

After half an hour of searching and contemplating my choices I settled on my target. A group of 5 nests around 3 miles away from my current location.

Having memorized the route to take so I don't run into any other creatures I begin my trek down the mountain.

Luck must be on my side because I didn't encounter any wandering bandits though there were a few close calls.

Now standing a hundred or so feet away I begin thinking of a battle plan. I have 4 essence left so I spend them all making a gun.

It's still crap but better than the one I made the first time.

There are 4 varkids outside right now wandering around. My waiting paid off as 2 of them decided to go into their nest at the same time I take that as my cue to strike.

Running at the closer one I open fire hitting it in the midsection though missing 2 shots. Looking at where the other one was, I see it making its way to me, so I take aim and fire. This time I managed to hit it in 1 leaving me with 6 bullets.

Hearing screeching I look around and see 5 more varkids coming at me with more crawling out of their nests. Aiming I manage to kill 3 more before running out of ammo. I'm about to turn and rum when I notice one burrow into the ground before quickly forming a sack.

I couldn't let it evolve as that would guarantee my death.

With my mind made up I run. I ignore the other varkids in my way a few of them managing to scrape me drawing blood making me wince in pain but I didn't stop.

Now next to it I place my left hand on the sack and begin draining it while I use my right hand to draw my other gun and fire.

I kill 2 leaving 4 and the sack. Thankfully I had already drained some of the sacks essence, so I spend it making a machete.

Machete in one hand sack in the other I swing at the first one to jump at me slicing through half its body. The second took that moment to land a bite on my leg though it died soon after when I chopped its head off.

The other 2 didn't jump and I'm hoping they don't, but we can't always have what we want as they both jump me at the same time.

I slice one while the other sinks its teeth into my shoulder before jumping away taking my flesh with it. As if mocking me it eats it swallows it then and there.

Despite the pain, I keep my eyes on it and keep draining.

It feels like it's been hours since I started this fight, but I know it's been like 20 seconds max.

As the varkids and I are having a stare off I can't help but smile as the sack begins turning into stone. I finally managed to drain it completely. With my left hand now free I and essence in the bank I contemplate making more ammo for my gun.

What stops me from doing so is the varkid burrowing down and turning into another sack.

Blinking my eyes a few times I walk up to it and begin draining it.

Another 20 seconds or so pass and now there's 2 stone sacks on the field.

Nodding I create a bottle of alcohol and some bandages costing 3 essence together. Bandaging my shoulder after pouring the whole bottle of alcohol on my shoulder I begin draining the essence of the varkids corpses.

In total I got 18 essence, 1 per varkid and 5 per sack. Though after buying the machete and medical supplies I'm left with 13.

Sighing at how poor I am I begin walking to an empty looking 3 story building in the distance. I had spotted it while scouting out for my target and I seemed like a good enough place to rest after what I've went through.

As I drew close, I felt relieved that there wasn't any screaming coming from within meaning no large group of psychos lived here.

Spending the next hour or so checking all the rooms and draining a sleeping psycho I find the cleanest room on the third floor. I barricade the door with furniture I collected from all the rooms on this floor before sitting on the bed.

Now that I have a moment it all comes crashing into me at once.

"I've killed someone, no I killed a lit of people. Sure, they probably deserved it, but they were still people."

Throwing up what little I had in my stomach I curled into a ball and begin to cry. I've always been like this. Pushing my emotions aside until I was alone and safe. Never showing weakness on the surface but dying on the inside.

I don't know how long I cried for. Could be minutes hours it didn't matter. None of this mattered.

Only getting stronger mattered, because I never wanted to find myself in this situation again.

With my resolve made I began thinking about my family. Would I be missing or was I dead in my old world? Was I in a new body or had mine crossed over?

Unfortunately, there was no mirror in the bathroom to check what I looked like.

I just turned 16 and now I find myself in an alternate universe where bullets are more valuable than people.

Doesn't matter, I'll survive one way or another.

Looking out the window I have one final thought before sleep takes me.

'Watch out Pandora Alex Martinez is coming for you.'
