Chapter Two: The Island

Zack was the first one to break out of the trance which the island had put on them. He knew that despite the initial euphoria of finding land, the hard part was only just beginning. He let everyone have their few moments of salvation, before he had to break the news to them.

"I don't know how long we'll on this Island. If we ever get off. This is our home now. We need to learn it" Zack explained, hoping he could instil his confidence in the situation to the others. They looked at him, all rather expectantly. All willing to comply and do as he instructs.

"Let's go for a walk" Zack suggested. They nodded, the sun was beginning to rise now, and already the heat of the day was beating down on them. The prospect of walking into the trees for a bit of protection from the sun was rather promising. "We have five main priorities now" he added

"Five?" Cody asked, taken aback

"Yes, five" Zack replied, ignoring his protest. "We need to find water, food, shelter, make a fire-" he begun, but as cut off by Cody

"Do they all require walking?" he asked

"And we need to get some weapons" Zack finished

"Weapons!" Woody asked, concerned

"We don't know what or who else is on this Island. Even if we are the only humans, we need to be able to have ways of protecting ourselves. And at a bare minimum, having the tools to hunt for food" Zack explained

"So, we shouldn't go off on our, own, stick together for protection?" Bailey asked

"Exactly" Zack confirmed

"What can we do, Zack?" London asked

"Well. First things first, Woody, Cody and Bailey, you guys can search the beach. Look for any bottles, bags, cups, fishing nets, anything which may have washed up. Bailey, see if you can find any sharp stones" Zack instructed. They all nodded in agreement

"What can I do?" London asked

"Come with me. We're going to look for some sticks" Zack explained, and they began walking off into the woods

"Why?" London asked

"Because if we have sticks, we can make them sharp. WE have weapons, fire wood, shelter. Sticks are like gold" Zack explained

"You're so smart" London complimented. Zack looked back over her shoulder, making her turn.

"Also. Now we're alone" Zack said, London realising that his turn back was no because he heard danger, but he was seeing if they were in sight still. He pulled her into him, and pressed her body against his. His lips on hers, hands trailing all over her body, she moaned into the kiss

"Fuck me, Zack" she muttered to him. That was an instruction that Zack did not need to be told twice. He picked her up, her thighs tightening around his hips, rocking her body into his. She needed him. Perhaps it was the stress, or the elation at finding the Island, but she was craving him harder than she ever had before.

They weren't sure how much alone time they would get, and Zack was right. They did not know how long they would be on the Island. She was on contraceptives, so she knew she did not have to worry for another four years, when it was due to expire. It had not really crossed her mind what she would do then, but she could have that discussion with Zack once thigs had settled down, and they had got into a bit of a routine on the Island.

His hands ran down her thighs, bringing her out of her thoughts and back into the moment. She remembered the intense need she was feeling.

"Zack" she cried. "Please"

"What do you want, baby?" he asked

"Fuck me" she begged He was happy to comply. Pulling her leggings off this time, he set her down, and turned her round, pushing her up against a tree. Unzipping his pants, he pulled out his throbbing member.

Usually she would touch, hold, lick or suck it as a warm up, foreplay. But he did not need any. Not now. She was so desperate, he could feel her arousal. It was all he needed.

He slipped a finger into her pussy, knowing already she would be dripping, then pushed his member in. She let out a low moan and him a long-held breath, as she stretched around him.

It didn't take long. A few well-placed thrusts, a thumb rubbing her clit he felt her body begin to convulse around him. Taking that as his cue, he let his own body relax into orgasm. She moaned lightly as she rocked her orgasm out on him, milking his cock of every drop of cum.

Once satisfied, she pulled off him, dropping to her knees and licking his member clean. Zack watched her, his brain still fuzzy from his orgasm.

She stood up and kissed him, he could taste them both on her lips, and he loved it.

"I love you" he whispered to her

"I love you too" she replied.

"Come on. We need to find some sticks before the others ask what the hold-up was" Zack teased. She smiled, walking by his side as they walked round. There were a few fallen sticks, but they soon found that any ones on the floor were brittle, and not strong enough.

"We might have to try and break some off a tree" Zack said, thinking out loud, assessing the trees with his eyes.

"Isn't bamboo supposed to be strong?" London asked, Zack turned to look at her, following her gaze he saw the bamboo plants

"Perfect!" he exclaimed

"How do we cut them down, we need an axe" London laughed at the irony. It reminded her of needing scissors to cut the new scissors out of their plastic.

"We'll have to try and snap one, then we can make the axe to take the rest down" he explained

"How do we do that?" she asked

"I'm not really sure..." Zack said as he walked around the tree. He walked up behind it, and leant against a few of the sticks. It didn't move.

"This stuff is really strong" Zack commented, looking around at how much there was in the woodland. "When we build shelters, we should use this" he added

"Let's get some food first" London replied

"Of course. But remind me of this place. It's a nice clearing. A good place to set up camp" Zack commented

"Yes Sir" she replied

Having collected an armful of sticks, most bamboo but a few others which Zack deemed suitable, the pair walked back out onto the beach. Bailey caught sight of them, and with the hem of her top lifted to hold what she had found, she carefully walked over to them

"What did you find?" Zack asked her

"I found loads of stones. Most had been planned down by the water, some quartz. And I even found a few shards of obsidian" she explained

"What's obsidian?" London asked

"The sharpest natural blade. Sharper than steel, thinner, more precise. It can cut down to a single atom" Zack explained

"Wow" London replied

"Yeah, wow! How did you know that?" Bailey asked, both curious and impressed

"I know a few things which could save my life" Zack replied with a smirk

"And yet you never managed to utilise that skill in school" Bailey teased. From the corner of his eye, Zack watched London's curious eyebrow raise. They had kept their relationship secret for so long, she was used to watching him flirt with other women. She never minded; she knew he would always come back to her. But she had never seen Bailey try to flirt with him before. Zack did not know how she would respond to that. Especially as they were on this Island. He decided the best thing to do would be to try and change the subject.

"Didn't interest me" he brushed it off. "Be careful with those, they're sharp. But keep them, we might need them for surgery or something in the future" Zack replied. Bailey's smile dropped at his words

"How long do you think we'll be here?" she asked sadly. Zack gave her a soft smile

"We need to prepare for the worst" Zack stated, not wanting to give her an answer. "Leave those with me" Zack said

"What will you do with them?" Bailey asked. Zack thought for a moment, before taking a smaller piece of bamboo from London's arms. He picked up a leaf from the floor, and pulled down a vine from the nearby tree. Breaking the vine in half, he tied the leaf over the end of the bamboo, carefully placing the Obsidian inside the bamboo, then putting another leaf over the end, and securing it with a vine.

London watched Zack as he worked. Admiring his ingenuity. She knew he was smart. A different type of smart to Cody. One she liked a bit more. Despite her little jealousy with Bailey fawning over him, she considered herself very lucky to be his.

"Bailey" Zack said, pulling London back to the moment "Can you go and see how Cody and Woody are getting on?" he asked. She nodded

"Sure thing, Zack" she replied, leaving the sharp stones with Zack and walking off. Once Bailey was out of earshot, London turned to Zack

"Oh, I cannot keep this a secret" London hissed. "She was all over you!"

"No, she wasn't" Zack assured her. "She'll be back on Cody the next time he says something smart. Besides, I only have eyes for you" he promised her, placing his hand on her ass, and bending down to give her a quick kiss. Enough to make her smile.

Zack and London followed Bailey down to the beach, placing their bamboo down on the sand. They still had not decided where they were going to set up camp. Whilst Zack and London thought their clearing was a nice spot, they had not yet determined if it was the best.

They walked down to Cody, Woody and Bailey who were on the waterline on the sand. They each had a carrier bag full of bottles, and other items, and draped around Woody's neck, like a salty fishy scarf, was a large quantity of netting.

"Wow! That's amazing" Zack stated looking at their haul.

"There's loads of waste plastic in the water" Cody complained, dropping the bag, which Bailey and Woody followed suit. A few bottles rolled out.

"It's shit, I know. But right now, it might save our life!" Zack reminded him.

"What's all this for?" Woody asked

"If we can find some drinking water, we can use the bottles to bring it with us, keep a store. Then we don't have to keep going to find water if we need a drink" Zack explained

"That's … Actually, quite smart" Cody complimented, a little disappointed to have to admit it

"What about the bags?" Woody asked, turning around to show that hanging off his net 'scarf' was a carrier bag full of bags

"Same thing as anything you'd use a carrier bag for. Carrying. Carrying bottles, firewood, anything we need" Zack

"And the net is for fishing?" Cody asked

"Probably. Unless we need it for shelter tonight" Zack explained

"I'm starving" Bailey complained

"Let's go for a walk. We need to find water first. Look for some berries, we can assess what threat there is. Then we can work out where to set up camp" Zack explained. They all agreed.

"Lead the way then" Woody volunteered. Placing the nets down by the sticks. Zack picked up one stick, and a larger sharp stone. Using another vine, he tied them together until it represented something like an axe. Nodding to the rest, who seemed glad to be in the shade of the trees and out the sun, which even for mid-morning was lovely and warm.

Zack led them down the woodland track which he and London had followed earlier. The Island was very compassionate. The large beach front had a very shallow ramp down to the water then flattened. There was an area of stones and pebbles, but it was mostly white sand, with the occasional piece of seaweed.

The line between the trees and the sand was almost straight, and despite a light dusting of sand where it had blown across, the mossy, leaf strewn woodland floor was a nice separation. The woodland ran back for perhaps forty metres, two paths, one which led along the beach, woodland break, and one which went back into the woodland.

Following the path, it led to a clearing, some twenty metres wide. This still had some protection from the sun due to the canopy of trees above, but was bright, due to the amount of sunlight in the centre.

The path disappeared after the clearing, but they carried on the same way. If this was a good way to go, Zack was sure that they could trim this down and turn it into a path.

They walked for maybe ten more minutes, mostly in silence as everyone was hungry, thirsty and trying to take in the scenery. Memorising the way. Zack led up front, with London, Bailey and Cody behind. Woody bringing up the rear. Up ahead they saw the sunlight come down again. The tell-tale sign of another clearing.

As they approached, they saw that the sunlight was the end of the woodland. But the base of a mountain.

All stopping at the bottom, looking up, there was a bit of a track which led up the side. It wasn't overly steep, but rather intimidating with no protection from the midday sun

"We need to get higher. Luckily, the mountain is on this side of the Island, otherwise we might have to consider moving altogether. Based on the fact there's a woodland at the bottom, there must be good water coming down the mountain, so we need to climb up it. See if we can find water, but also, a bit of height might give us a better view of the rest of the Island" Zack explained

"You expect us to walk up a mountain with no food or water?" Woody asked, outraged

"No" Zack replied honestly "It's not going to be easy. You're welcome to stay in the shade down here. I'll go up by myself and assess" Zack explained

"What if there's monsters in the woods?" Woody asked

"Whilst walking I've seen tracks for bunnies, birds and pigs. But no monsters" Zack assured

"But..." Woody begun but Zack cut him off

"I'll leave the axe with you" Zack promised him, handing the axe over and stepping towards the mountain "Cody, give me your phone. You never know, I might get signal up the mountain" Zack explained. Cody handed his phone to his brother.

"I'll come with" London said to Zack. Cody, Bailey and Woody looked at her in disbelief "I need to top up my tan somehow" she explained to them, hoping it was enough to satisfy their question as to why she would want to put more effort in.

Zack nodded and the pair walked up the mountain, not quite out of earshot when they heard Bailey say how London never ate much so probably wasn't feeling the effects of hunger. London rolled her eyes

"It was a compliment, right?" Zack asked

"Yeah, I guess" she replied

They walked up the mountain, both hot, dehydrated and tired. Knowing that as much as they wanted to talk, it would only make it worse. London was very conflicted. She was happy to be alone with Zack again, but she couldn't say what she wanted to, not that she had the energy anyway, but even holding his hand, she couldn't do as the other three were at the bottom.

It was as though Zack read her mind

"The track veers round to the left up there, they won't see us then" she smiled, knowing they were on the same page.

"Thank you" she said quietly.

As they walked round, the path got a little wider, and now out of view of those below, he pulled her in, and wrapped his arm around her waist. They stopped to have a look at the view. It was a stunning day. They looked out on the view. They had a good look at the Island from up here.

The beach went around the edge of the island, it was about the same width, except one part on the opposite side, which looked like a much nicer bit of beach, but was far out. The woodland ran from the beach where they had been, to the mountain, and about halfway up. There were a few clearings, and one patch of thicker woods a bit further into the woods from where they had walked.

There were also a few caves in the middle of the Island, build into a small bank.

Zack tugged her hand gently and they carried on walking up the path. She soon realised why, she could hear water flowing. She had listened to Zack's ramblings enough to know that flowing water had a good chance of being drinking water.

As they rounded the corner again, they saw a beautiful waterfall, from the top of the mountain, into a decent sized reservoir, which then flowed down a few metres to a larger one, which then trickled off around the corner to the other side of the mountain

"This is incredible" London commented.

"It is" Zack agreed. He pulled the phone out of his pocket and checked it. "No signal though" he replied. He put the phone away and looked back to the water. "Let's see if this water is safe to drink"

The stone mountain up to the top of the higher pool were caved almost as steps. Zack wondered if this had been done man-made perhaps thousands of years before, or if it was just a geological miracle. He determined that if this water was safe to drink, the Island wanted them to survive.

He pulled an empty bottle from the bag which he had carried up with them, took off the lid, and poured a little into the bottle, taking an experimental sip.

"It's fresh water!" Zack called out

"We can drink it?" London asked, a wave of relief washing over her. Suddenly realising how thirsty she was. She picked up a bottle and Zack filled it for her. She drank nearly the whole thing in one go. Wondering briefly where she would go later on, as the topic of toilets had not come up yet. But she pushed it out her mind as Zack came back to her, a carrier bag full of ten bottles of water.

"Which means" he begun "That this. Lower pool is safe to drink too. And look at how the sun has heated it up. We have drinking water there, and a pool here" he commented

"It's almost luxury" she said

"I know right" Zack replied. "We need to be a little bit careful though. The sun is really intense here. We need to make sure that wherever we set up our camp has a lot of shade. The days are going to be hot which means that we might get cold nights" Zack explained

"What about winter?" London asked

"I'm not sure on seasons, but if it gets too bad we can go and find some refuge in those caves. Caves stay the same temperature year-round, so they'll be cold on a summer day, but stay warmer at night.

"You're so smart" she said, looking up at him with admiration. "This is going to be ok, isn't it" she asked

"I hope so. We have materials to build shelter and fire. We have water. We have a good catchment for fish, and I saw some berries. If we can catch a few animals we have food. We can survive here" Zack replied

"I'm so lucky to have you" she said. Zack put the bag down, and looked to the pool.

"I think we have a little bit of time before we need to head back to the others" Zack said with a smirk

"What are you suggesting?" London asked.

Zack pulled off his shirt, kicked off his shoes and socks, pulled down his pants and boxers, and dived into the pool.

"Oh babe! Come in, it's lush!" he called.

Tentatively, London pulled her shirt, leggings and skirt off. Looking around cautiously before she stripped off her bra and underwear, hesitantly getting into the water, but sinking in once she felt the temperature. It was like a hot tub! She swam over to Zack, and he pulled her into his body

"I've missed seeing you naked" he muttered his eyes drifting over her body, which was visible in the crystal-clear water. He pushed them both into the side and pressed his body into hers.

Refreshed, warm, and hydrated, she found a new burst of energy. She kissed him with a deep desire, she had been remarkably horny lately, and was prepared to take advantage of the alone time she had with Zack at the moment.

"Fuck me" she whispered to him. He did not need to be told twice. Her hand went to his member, stroking him a few times to get him to full mast. He groaned at her touch, letting her have her way with him.

After a few minutes, he couldn't take any more, he pulled her legs around his and slipped himself inside her. She threw her head back, moaning in pleasure as his lips went to her neck.

"Fuuckkk Zack" she moaned. Feeling able to moan his name the way she needed to, for the first time since they left the boat.

He fucked her with everything in him, rocking his body into hers. Over and over, hitting that spot inside her which he knew she loved.

"More. Please" she moaned. He was happy to oblige. They got out of the water, and he laid her on the warmed rock. He picked her legs up and hooked them over his shoulder, using the leverage to get inside her, deeper. She was crying out now. She could feel herself getting closer and closer. He could too.

He needed her. He wanted her!

He was close. The more she rocked her body into him the closer it pushed him. Until, she tightened around him, finding her release. He growled and with one final thrust, he released inside her.

Coming down from their unified ecstasy, they rolled off one another, both dry, except for London's hair, as the sun was so warm.

They dressed, and once more admired the pool they had found

"Come on" Zack said to her "Let's go and give them the water, hopefully it will give them some energy, and we can go looking for some food" Zack suggested London nodded

"Yes please" she replied.

They made their way back down the mountain. As they rounded to where they could see the three below, Zack raised the heavy bag full of water. Cody and Bailey cheered, Woody looked a little lost, not sure what they were cheering at. A few moments later, Zack and London heard him ask;

"Did they wind water". The look both Cody and Bailey gave him answered his question for him. He then cheered too. On his own, a minute too late.

They got to the bottom and Zack gave a bottle of water to each of them. They drank it without complaint.

Once they had stopped drinking to catch their breath, Bailey looked at London, cocking her head to one side inquisitively.

"Your hairs wet" she commented

"We found a huge waterfall the other side of the mountain. Fresh water. It's perfect. There're two pools, a smaller one where we can get drinking water, then it trickles down into a huge pool. We went for a swim" Zack explained

"It's like a hot tub, the sun made it really warm!" London added

"Cool!" Woody said, wanting to go and swim, but Cody put his arm out.

"Tomorrow" he promised "We have things to do today" Cody explained

"Awwww" Woody complained, but did not object

"We need to find food, and make a fire" Zack said.

They made their way back to the beach, this time wanting to find food, but found nothing on the way.

"We'll focus on getting a fire lit, then we'll use the nets to catch a fish for tonight" Zack explained. They agreed, and picked up armfuls of try timber and a little dry bracken. They went back to the beach, on the tree line. The moss would make, not a comfortable bed, but a little nicer than the sand.

Light was starting to fade now. They didn't expect it to have been much later than maybe five o'clock in the evening, but light was fading fast. Getting back to safety, it was too late to make a shelter.

Zack got to work on rubbing sticks together with a bit of the bracken. After half an hour of attempts, whilst Cody and Woody brought a net to the cove, trying to catch a fish, he finally had it lit. It was cold. Not as cold as Zack had predicted but there was a chill in the air that night. They were thankful for the fire, as it provided them with a little warmth.

Cody and Woody returned later on empty handed. They were all starving, disappointed that they were not able to catch any food.

"We have fire" Zack said trying to reassure the rest, who all looked at him doubtfully. "We can stay warm"

"But we have no food" Cody reminded him.

"We have water, we have fire. Tonight, will be rough, I'm not going to sugar coat it. But tomorrow we will focus on food and shelter. Something to protect us, and something to eat. It will get better" he assured them

"Are you sure?" Bailey asked

"You have to trust me on this. It will get better, we just need to get to tomorrow. Up at the break of dawn. We'll be ok" he answered

"You sound very convinced" Woody commented

"I am" Zack replied convincingly

"I trust you" London said, placing her hand softly on Zack's knee. To the others, it would be a friendly, supportive touch. But to them, it was a lot deeper

"Thank you, London" Zack replied. She smiled at him.

"Come on. Let's go to sleep. The sooner we sleep, the sooner we can go and find food" Zack promised them. They all agreed. Finding somewhere comfy, scattered round the fire one by one they all fell asleep.
