The summer air was filled with the scent of the Aegean Sea. The streets of Athens were busy, loud, and crowded. Vendors stationed on top of the cobble stone trying to make a living, soldiers monitoring the citizens and enjoying the calmness of no war. Higher class socialites walking through the alleys conducting business and playing their political games. All of the people living their lives oblivious to those who walk among them.
Three women sit at a table watching all the action before them in amusement. The three women are higher class individuals based on their garments, however they had no guards. That was extremely rare and gained many glances from onlookers.
"We are getting unwarranted attention."
The blonde haired woman with the piercing green eyes glances to the right where a few men were looking at them and whispering. She sighs clearly annoyed, "Let them watch. They best remain still if they want to avoid trouble."
The taller blonde haired woman with the blue eyes leaned forward towards the women, "You both promised no fighting."
The blonde chuckles as she looks at the brunette whose brown eyes were glued to the group of men. "That all depends on them, Brit. They make the wrong move, it's over for them."
"No. No, Quinn. Tell her no," Brittany pleads.
Quinn shrugs as she looks back to the busy streets, "Sorry Britt Britt, she's right. It's up to them, mortals need to know their place. The fact we haven't ended them for staring like they are is mercy enough."
Brittany pouts as she sits back and crosses her arms over her chest. "If you fight with them, then no lady kisses."
Santana's eyes go wide as she turns around to look at the blonde, "Are you serious? Babe, that's not fair!"
"Neither is the God of War choosing a fight with mortals. Leave them alone."
Santana groans loudly, "Fine! Fine. I'll leave them alone."
Quinn scoffs with a smile, "You are so whipped."
"Shut it Q! At least I have someone. And she happens to be the most gorgeous goddess in existence may I add, Aphrodite herself. All you got is that damn dog." Brittany smiles wide leaning over to kiss Santana's kiss.
"I don't need anyone and don't diss Cerberus, he's the best dog. Also, don't let your mother hear you saying those words, everyone knows how jealous Hera is."
"You claim you don't want anyone but you definitely need one, maybe you'll be less uptight."
"I like being alone, I'm happy."
"Who can be happy in the Underworld? You are literally surrounded by dead people."
"Yeah but they are quieter than you."
Brittany giggles and rubs her hand up and down Santana's arm, "Be nice to Quinn. She'll find someone, you'll see."
"Again, I'm not lookin-" Quinn stops speaking as her eyes land on what has to be the most beautiful creature to exist. She quickly stands up and tries her best to keep her eyes on the woman. Santana and Brittany were confused but quickly moved to follow Quinn into the crowded streets.
"Where are you going?" Santana calls out.
Quinn continues to move through the crowds of people, pushing and shoving anyone in her way. She only got a quick glance of that beautiful olive skin, dark wavy hair, and radiant smile but she knew she needed to get this person. Whoever she was. Brittany was smiling wide, she could see the feelings radiating off of Quinn, feelings she had never seen before. With a quick wave of her hand, she sends an amplifier of those feelings into Quinn causing the blonde to navigate even faster through the crowd.
"B, I saw that." Santana warns.
"Oh hush, you know I'm right. This never happens."
Quin tries to keep up with the brunette but fails as soon as a cart crashes and falls over right in front of Quinn. Quinn clenches her fist in anger and turns to look at the vendor who was on the floor gathering his dropped items. Her eyes change from green to a fiery red, this man was the reason she lost sight of the brunette. Santana quickly stands in front of Quinn grabbing her hands before the man loses his life.
"Q, breathe. Come on, we gotta go."
"I need to find her."
"We will, but not right now. We have to go, your hands are literally smoking right now. Someone might see."
"Santana. Move. These people deserve what I'm about to bring upon them."
"Britt!" Before Quinn can protest, The blonde hugs Quinn and they both start to glow. Luckily, the sight wasn't able to be seen by mortals. Brittany's loving aura calms Quinn down a bit.
"Not cool Brittany…"
"You are welcome, let's get back home." Brittany smiles, kissing Quinn's cheek before taking Santana's hand and leading all of them out of the main town. They walk to Athena's temple that was nearby, after making sure no one was around, they teleport to Mount Olympus. When they arrive, they are standing in front of Brittany's garden.
"Who.. who was that? That woman. She- I've never seen her before but she was so beautiful. Like if she was a goddess."
"We will find her Quinn, maybe we can go back tomorrow? What do you think, San?"
"Sure, we can help Ms. I'm happy alone, I don't need anyone to find her future wife." Santana teases with a chuckle.
"Shut up." Quinn smiles and looks around, "Must be nice, all the brightness and sunlight huh?"
Santana nudges her softly, "Your place is cool too. Plus you don't have to deal with -"
"Why are you here?!" The loud booming voice is heard all throughout Mount Olympus. The other gods and goddess look over at Quinn with a knowing look. The blonde rolls her eyes as the footsteps become louder and louder behind her. When she turns around, she's met face to face with a disapproving look from Zeus himself.
"Jesse, always a pleasure brother."
"Why are you up here? You know you are not allowed to come up."
"Just saying bye to some friends, that's all."
"Ah right, a couple that cheats together stays together right? How is Artie, Brittany? Still hurting I'm sure?"
Brittany instantly feels bad as she looks down at her feet. Santana angrily steps to Jesse, but Quinn quickly stops her.
"Anyone with eyes could tell Brittany didn't love Hephaestus, it's always been Santana for her. You should have never tried to force her to marry him." Quinn answers.
"Yes, well, the sooner everyone understands I know what's best for them, the better."
"If you say so, but I'm sure everyone here knows you only look out for yourself. I'll be going now, it's always a great time with you Jesse." Quinn turns around to face the only friends she had with a small smile.
"Later Q," Santana says with a bit of sadness in her voice. She hated that Quinn wasn't allowed to be on Mount Olympus with them.
"Bye Quinn." Quinn smiles at Brittany and pokes her side making the Goddess smile. "Later guys." Quinn snaps her fingers and is engulfed in a bright and hot blue flame, disappearing before the Gods eyes.
"Oooh flames, big deal." Jesse says with an eye roll before walking away.
Quinn appears in her home and sighs, running a hand through her hair. She glances around her home. She lived in an enormous dark castle style home, too many rooms for her to even count. Every room has Greek architecture but with dark shades of stones, marble, porcelain, and rock. Quinn sometimes hated it. All this room for one person? Servants, endless food and drink, but for what? Unlimited power, but still can't find the happiness she longs for. Her brother had made her Lord of the Underworld when he stepped into power after escaping their Father. Her other brother Sam was titled Poseidon, God of the Sea. And Jesse, he made himself God of Thunder, the most powerful God of them all. Surprised? No. Why her brothers are surrounded by life, she is surrounded by the dead. And the worst part is all of the humans hate her, they believe she is a man, the worst God amongst the brothers. What did she do to deserve this from those who should praise her? Nothing. But it was just the way things were. It would be more bearable if she could at least visit Mount Olympus, see her brother Sam, see the rest of the family. But the fates spoke of a prophecy. That she could overthrow Zeus when the planets align if Hercules did not get involved. After that was spoken, Zeus became so paranoid that he banned her from being on Mount Olympus. Hercules hadn't been born yet but when he was born… Quinn will act. Finally free herself from this hell her brother placed her in.
Quinn whistles loudly as she walks towards her balcony. She glances out to the River of Souls and sees her guards were walking their everyday paths, making sure no one was trying to escape. She feels the ground start to shake and smiles wide. The guards who were on the higher platforms were holding onto anything they could to not fall off. Soon coming into view is the large three headed dog Cerberus running right to Quinn. The three headed beast stops right in front of her balcony, three tongues hanging out and a serpent tail wagging like crazy.
"Hey handsome. How was your day huh? Did you eat any bad people?" The dog barks loudly echoing all through the Underworld causing the workers to press their hands to their ears. Quinn reaches out and scratches each head with a chuckle. The beast may look terrifying, but the dog was Quinn's best friend.
"Alright, you go back to the front gates. I'll see you later." The dog nudges her softly with his middle head before running off. Quinn glances one at two of her workers, "Make sure he eats well tonight or you'll be on his plate!" The workers nod and bow before running off towards the dog. Quinn heads to her bedroom to change into more comfortable clothing. As she changes, she thinks of the woman from the market. Who was she? Would she find her again? Quinn didn't know but she knew one thing for sure. When she finds her, she will have her. No matter what.
