Not much to say now

Except let's continue the story.

It wasn't long before the Louds, Ronnie Anne and Clyde got to the school.

There, they all gathered in one of the halls.

Lori did a quick headcount. "Okay, everyone present and accounted for?"

"Not quite everyone," Clyde pointed out. "We're missing Sid. Where could she be?"

"She texted me saying she's on her way," Ronnie Anne answered. "She should have been here by now."

As on cue, Sid finally arrived, panting from exhaustion.

"Well it's about time," Lynn said impatiently. "What took you so long?"

"Sorry guys. I had to use my legs all the way. But I had no idea this school was so far away. I think my shoes are all worn out."

"We do have teleporters, you know," Ronnie Anne said with a glare.

"Oh, right." Sid blushed with foolishness. "Well either way, I would have been here sooner, but Adelaide kept getting in my way. Ugh! Little sisters sometimes."

Lincoln shrugged. "You get used to it."

"Well at least Adelaide is safe," Ronnie Anne said. "The last thing we need is another missing kid."

Speaking of Adelaide, she and her pet frog found themselves in the interior of a very large aircraft. She looked around and saw many things as the lights turned on. There were blinking monitors, torture devices and a calendar with ugly photos.

One more spotlight came on and shined on two particular girls, Darcy and Meli, both of whom were tied up with rope, unable to move their arms.

Adelaide got out of her seat and approached them. "Hey! You're kids just like me. How'd you get here?"

Darcy was the first to speak. "Who are you?"

"I'm Adelaide Chang. Did you get abducted too?"

Meli nodded her head. "Mmm-hmm. I don't like it here. It's scary! I wanna go home!"

Then another kid came in from behind them, this time behind a boy, who was also tied up. "Hey! What do I look like, chopped liver?" He said.

Now here was a face Adelaide recognized. "Carl? What are you doing here?"

"You think it's my choice?" Carl said with sarcasm. "I wasn't exactly expecting to be ambushed by some loco stranger and tied up against my will. Why are you here anyway?"

"I don't know," Adelaide argued. "I was just lying on the roof with Froggy 2 and this giant ship came out of nowhere and abducted us. What's going on?"

Just then, all the lights suddenly came on and a huge door opened up. Out of it stepped many members of the evil syndicate as they approached the children in a threatening manner.

"You're now our prisoners, overbite," said Professor Calamitous. "That's what's going on."

Adelaide got into her fighting position. "I don't know who you are. But you better stay back. You don't want to mess with a karate genius."

This made Carl roll his eyes.

But as Adelaide prepared for a karate kick, she was immediately taken by surprise.

Beautiful Gorgeous had grabbed her ankle, making her hang upside down. "Ow! That really hurts!"

"Kid, we've dealt with robots and kids with superpowers," Beautiful said. "Do you really think we wouldn't be any match for any childish games?"

Adelaide then got dropped to the floor, now looking a bit more intimidated than before. "What do you want from me?"

King Goobot stepped forward. "Oh I think you know what we want."

"Yes," Crocker agrees. "We've discovered a source of pure magic, and the coordinates led us straight here."

"So now, you're gonna tell us where it is," Vlad threatened.

"I don't know what you're talking abo—!" Then it hit her. Adelaide glanced over to the lawn chair and noticed the muffin, and then realized that was what they wanted. She immediately covered her mouth.

"Not talking, huh? Looks like we'll have to get out the big boss," suggested Plankton. "Oh Mistress!" He called.

Suddenly the door opened up again, and this time their newest addition stepped out.

She stared at the kids very closely, and although it was hidden, her face showed extreme dissatisfaction.

"This is it?! Another child?!" She shouted to the others. "You brought me in here for this?! These kids are about as powerful as a dead twig!"

"But we scanned for a power source and the coordinates led us to her," Crocker exclaimed.

"Ugh! This is ludicrous! Unless…..you're their agents in disguise."

Adelaide seemed confused. "Us? Agents?"

"But of course! How ingenious! How those heroes did it, I don't know. But they have certainly outdone themselves. The last thing anyone would expect is a bunch of small, worthless pathetic little children."

"Hey! I resent that!" Carl shouted.

Adelaide stepped forward. "Listen Miss, I hate to break it to you but I think you've made some mistake."

"Us? Mistake!? I think not!"

Adelaide covered her mouth in fear.

"I'd like to test our new super weapon on you and those twerps, but we still need one last power source to fuel it. First I need to know where it is."

Adelaide inched backwards toward the lawn chair, hoping nobody would notice the muffin.

"So tell me, where is it?"

"I dont know what you're talking about," Adelaide says, trying to play dumb.

"Very well. You want to play games? We can oblige! I'll get you to talk, my pretty. And your little frog too!"

Mistress cackles as the kids begin looking more scared than ever.

Back at the school, the gang was forming a plan to find the kids.

"Well now we gotta find both Meli and Darcy as well as the chalk," Ronnie Anne proclaimed.

"We can probably do it faster if we split up," Clyde declared. "Lincoln and I will check the hallways."

"Lynn, Ronnie Anne and Sid, you guys check the gym," Lincoln ordered. "Lola, Lana and Lily, go look outside in the playground. Everyone else, check any classroom you can find."

"Right!" They all nodded.

And split up they did.

Lily and the twins looked all over the playground, including the blacktop and jungle gym, but Meli and Darcy were nowhere to be found.

Lynn, Sid and Ronnie Anne looked in the gymnasium, but they found nothing also.

Lisa checked the science room and computer lab, Luan checked the auditorium, Clyde looked in the lunchroom, and everybody else checked…..well, everywhere else.

But no matter where they looked, there was no trace of the missing toddlers.

Finally, they all regrouped in front of the school.

"This is exasperating!" Lisa griped. "We've searched every inch of this school and haven't found anything! Where else could they possibly be?"

"Why don't we check the middle school?" Lincoln suggested. "Maybe the kids took a wrong turn in ChalkZone and ended up there."

"Guess it can't hurt to try," Clyde thought. "Let's go."

"Only, let's use the shortcut this time," said Ronnie Anne.

They all took out little remote-like devices and pressed the green button.

Suddenly, a huge light consumed them and they disappeared.

Meanwhile, the kids were being 'tortured' by the evil syndicate.

Meli and Darcy were being tickled with feathers (with the former sneezing and the latter laughing uncontrollably), Carl was lying flat on his stomach with a few villains sitting on his back, and Adelaide was hooked up to a device that twisted her whole body around, though it didn't cause much harm.

Mistress was not amused. "You kids have withstood all of our torture devices! I don't understand!"

"What do you expect?" Adelaide confronted. "We're kids. Kids are supposed to be flexible. It's what we're known for."

But Mistress was not about to give up. "I can see your will is strong. But we'll find a way to make you talk. For the last time, where is the source of power?"

"I told you, I don't know what you're looking for. But even if I did, I'd never tell you!"

"SILENCE!!!! One way or another, you will tell me! But first….." Mistress snaps her fingers. "Crocker!"

"Yes ma'am?"

"Bring me that muffin. I'm hungry."

Crocker spies the muffin that was left on the lawn chair and carries it to her. She was about to bite into it, but………

"Now what would it take for you to tell me where it is?" She then turns to the other kids in the corner. "Perhaps your little friends would care to cooperate."

"Fat chance!" Carl shouted. "I wouldn't tell you for all the tamales in abuela's cocina! Well, maybe half of them at least."

Adelaide sneered through her teeth. "Carl!"

This made Mistress growl with frustration. "I want that power so bad I can taste it!"

Fortunately for her, that was about to be arranged. Adelaide watched with horror as Mistress was about to take a bite of the muffin, and just when it was getting close enough to her teeth, she…..

"STOP!!"

Then the Mistress stopped and looked towards the young girl.

"Okay, you win. I'll tell you. If you…..give me a taste of that muffin."

"My, what an odd little kid you are. Very well. Here."

Mistress gives Adelaide the muffin and she immediately gobbles it up.

"So?"

"So what?" Adelaide asked with her mouth still stuffed.

"So where is the power source? And why is your mouth still full?"

"I'm just, Uhh……..big cheek-boned?"

But Mistress knew something was up.

"Open your mouth!"

Adelaide shook her head. "Mmm-mmm! Mmm-mmm!"

The mistress tried to pry her mouth open, but Adelaide tried her best to keep it shut. "Open up! Don't make me get the crowbar out here! You're just gonna make it worse for yourself!"

Adelaide closed her mouth and it seemed like the Mistress was about to give up.

"Oh well. I guess there isn't any—OPEN YOUR MOUTH!!!!!"

At that point, the young girl knew she had no choice. As bad as it may have tasted, she ultimately swallowed the muffin whole. She then opened her mouth wide so the mistress could look inside. Once she did, she saw……nothing.

"Hmm, nothing in there after all. You kids are crafty, but I will get that power if it's the last thing I do."

Mistress walked off, just as Adelaide's tummy began to gurgle.

Darcy giggled. "I think something's rumbly in her tumbly."

"Shush!" Carl said.

Then one of the monitors began flashing and beeping like crazy.

"Mistress, the magic detector is picking up traces of magic inside her stomach," said Vlad.

The mistress quickly turned around.

But Adelaide tried to deny it. "I don't know what you're talking about. There's nothing in my stomach."

But her tummy rumbled louder.

Then Technus waved (what appeared like) a security wand around her and it began flashing and beeping when it got to her stomach. "Well, well, well. Must've been something you ate, eh?"

"Of course!" The mistress declared. "The power source wasn't in that muffin. The source is the muffin! Put her in the extraction chamber!"

As ordered, the villains grabbed Adelaide by the arms and carried her over to a giant glass case.

Adelaide struggled to break free?, but to no avail. "Hey! What are you doing!? Ow! That hurts!"

Finally, she was thrown inside as the glass windows closed around her. Adelaide banged on the glass to break out, and despite being tough and thick, it did manage

"Computer! Begin extraction!" Mistress quickly ordered.

The system began booting up and inside the chamber, a huge wave of light began consuming Adelaide, making her feel weaker by the second. After a few minutes, she collapsed on the floor all tired as the light faded away.

Soon the chamber opened up and Mistress approached the girl. "Finally! The ultimate weapon is now complete! Nothing can stand in my way anymore!"

Adelaide felt nothing but regret at this point. "Oh man, I really blew it."

"You sure did," snickered mistress. "A real hero would never have been such a fool. You're nothing but a bunch of twerps. Now that I have the source of ultimate power, I can execute my brilliant plan! Any thoughts on who to test the super weapon on first? Your friends and family perhaps?"

Carl jumped on his feet. "You keep your filthy mitts off our friends and family!"

Mistress grabbed him forcefully. "If you wanted to stop us, you should have done it when your friend had the magic muffin. Now you're powerless." She then put him back down and turned to the other villains. "Technus! Run the DNA scanner again. We must track down those heroes immediately."

"Right away." Technus typed away on the keyboard, and after a few seconds, the screen began to flash. "Found them! We've got them on our radar!"

"Program the coordinates! Those heroes are the only things between us and multiversal domination!"

The villains all laughed maniacally and the kids all watched in fear, knowing that their problems were far from gone.
