Chapter 1: A Journal Entry
8/19/21
Well, I personally don't know where to start with this, but here I am. Hopefully, I don't forget about this diary within the next twenty-four hours like I do with most other stuff. My mom got me this because she thought I needed something to jot my thoughts down, which, while kind of her and I am thankful, outside of this one entry, I don't think I'll do much with it. But hey, summer's almost over and I don't have much else to do before the school year starts, so what the heck.
Since this is my diary entry, I should probably introduce myself. I'm Jay Valentini. I'm fifteen and I live in one of the more upper-middle-class neighborhoods of New York City. Y'know, like the Upper West Side or Upper East Side. As for which neighborhood I live in, why on Earth would I disclose that to a potential creep like you? Despite how nice it is where I live compared to the rest of the city, sometimes I wish we lived somewhere quieter, with a lower crime rate, like maybe Westchester. The city itself can be overwhelming. You don't even understand the rush hour traffic, the tourists I have to dodge while riding my bike, and all the crimes like theft and worse—homicide. It makes the city a pretty embarrassing place to live, in my opinion.
My mom wants us to take an end-of-summer trip up to our country house in the Catskills, and honestly, I'm fine with it. I could use a peaceful retreat, breathing in the fresh mountain air instead of the exhaust fumes from a Toyota. Anyway, that's enough ranting. Time to get back to writing this entry. I'm an only child, so I never had to share my toys or video games growing up. Thank god. Oh wait, I'm supposed to think that's a good thing. What's wrong with me?
My parents are well… your average parents, although they make a lot of money. Both are defense attorneys and even have their own law firm in Manhattan called Valentini Law Firm. It's not as big as other firms, but they still get plenty of clients. Because of their work, they're busy more than half the time but always make time to spend with me. Most of the time, I like to play video games, write, read—yada yada. Some of my favorite franchises include Life is Strange, Super Smash Bros., and a lesser-known series called Fire Emblem. Y'know, the series where Marth from Smash is from. I just finished playing the latest game, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and pardon my language, but that shit was phenomenal! The characters were so well-written, and the story nearly made me cry. Exploring Garreg Mach was fun too. I don't have much else to say except it's a good game, and I highly recommend checking it out.
My other favorite game is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and I love maining Klonoa. Even though I suck at online mode, getting wrecked by some oversized twenty-year-old who lives in his mom's basement on the other side of the screen, it's still fun to play. When I'm not gaming, I like to write fanfiction—mostly Fire Emblem and Pokemon stuff. These range from "what if" scenarios to alternate universes. I also enjoy reading fanfiction, and I get so excited when my favorite stories get updated on AO3 or .
Anyway, I'll keep this short for now since I don't have much else to talk about. But for whatever reason, I feel like something big—really big—is going to happen soon, though I can't pinpoint what. Eh, probably just my anxiety talking. Well, peace out, gamers.

So, I woke up from a not-so-great sleep this morning, after a strange dream where I saw a megalomaniac's giant robot rampaging through a city, a giant water monster destroying another, and half the moon being blown up by a space laser. Probably just some weird post-apocalyptic scenario in my head. I thought today was going to be another boring day of summer vacation—y'know, wake up, play video games, read, write. Wash, rinse, repeat. But oh boy, was I wrong.
When I checked my phone, the same news story was everywhere—ABC, CNN, Fox, you name it. Even Instagram was flooded with stories about it. And when I went downstairs, my parents were glued to their iPads. You're probably wondering what this was all about, right? Well, it involves a blue hedgehog. Yes, a hedgehog—and no, I'm not bullshitting you. A real, legit, human-sized cobalt-blue hedgehog with red sneakers and white gloves, similar to the ones Disney characters wear, was tearing through Station Square, California, moving faster than The Flash. He was running at speeds I thought were impossible.
At first, I thought it was a hoax, maybe a deepfake. I've seen enough sci-fi movies to think it's possible. But a blue, cartoonish hedgehog? That's really jumping the shark. When I imagined aliens, I thought of the typical green aliens with UFOs and laser guns, not this. Even the S-Team—an elite police unit with formula race cars—couldn't catch him. These are the same guys who caught an armed robber not too long ago in a high-stakes chase. And yet, not even they could catch this blue speed demon.
As of now, the alien is still in Station Square, likely hiding somewhere on the outskirts, and there's an ongoing manhunt for him. But I'm worried about what will happen if the government catches him. Knowing them, they'll probably run all kinds of weird experiments on him. Haven't they learned anything from sci-fi movies? If a blue hedgehog can show up on Earth, what's next? An artificial solar eclipse? A mad scientist building a Death Star-sized space station? We live in the age of electric cars and plant-based food—basically, anything goes, right? Heck, maybe next we'll have ghosts haunting abandoned castles or a baseball game between a dictator and aliens. Ha! But I really need to calm down.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that, well, almost anything seems possible now. Honestly, in some alternate reality, this blue hedgehog could be the mascot of a major video game franchise, with movies, TV shows, comics, and more. He'd probably be owned by Sega, the same company that owns games like Yakuza and Persona, but also Phantasy Star and Alex Kidd. Just thinking about this is giving me a headache, so maybe I should stop. I guess I have to accept that this is our reality now, and for all I know, this could be stage one of an alien invasion. Or maybe that's just my anxiety getting the better of me.
Anyway, I don't have much else to say for now, so… peace out, gamers! ;)
A/N: That wraps up the first chapter of Chaos on Earth Chronicles, the unofficial spinoff to Chaos on Earth: A Sonic X Rewrite by Stardown77. I highly recommend checking out the original story—it's phenomenal! This series will be a collection of oneshots set in the Chaos on Earth multiverse, exploring different scenarios not covered in the main story or its spinoff. Whether this is canon is up to Stardown77 to decide. Feel free to leave questions, reviews, or ideas—I'm open to trying new things. Also, constructive criticism is always welcome and appreciated. I'm not sure how long this story will go, but I have lots of ideas. Huge shout-out to Stardown77 for creating the original story. Anyway, that's all for now. Peace out, gamers! :D
