Prologue

An Alliance of Vengeance

John Ratcliffe stood before Ardyn Izunia, even with most of the other members of the Dark Council in the Legion of Darkness.

"What was it that drew the darkness to that world?" wondered Kurai, one of the chancellor's sons.

"It's my desire to see that all the gold the heathen swine were believed to have been hiding was in my possession. However, I was outfoxed by Marluxia, the Graceful Assassin, who had one of them killed, after seeing how he didn't want one of his comrades eliminated, that wanted it destroyed. Fortunately, that boy stopped him, but now he's become yet another danger," replied the former governor.

"That was your lust for power that was the bait. But it seems the bait was too tasty for your own good," sneered Maleficent.

"Much as I hate to admit it, Ratcliffe, that almost got you put in jail for your crimes, but at least we managed to save you and bring you to Maleficent," added Pete.

"And sometimes the most weak-hearted of dummies might not stand a chance against the Heartless, pal," smirked Mortimer.

"But there's one other problem. I still need those savages destroyed for good," growled Ratcliffe.

"Fear not. But I take it you've learned your lesson about greed taking control of you," said the dark fairy.

"Yes. Sora's aware of the reunion, where all the stars will merge… When spite and sorrow are harvested to feed Kingdom Hearts! This is why I will help you in this venture," grinned Sephiroth, who had arrived fashionably late.

"Professor Hojo is hard at work with his grandchildren, creating new clones with Jenova's genetic material, as well as with Sephiroth, our latest and most powerful ally yet," she said.

"Let us hope so. But first we must have John Smith disposed of, which is why I must return to my world at once," he replied.

He turned away, then motioned for the One-Winged Angel to follow. Meanwhile, in the lanes between, Sora was now wondering where to go next, when Shea appeared in the cockpit.

"Sora, I have bad news. I just had a vision of several people lying dead. All wiped out by several soldiers, including one with a menacing sword," she said.

"You don't mean…" he gasped.

"I'm afraid Shea's right. The Powhatan Tribe might be in danger of being destroyed for good, with Sephiroth standing in the ruins of it all, along with their souls being claimed by him," was Kirito's answer.

"Then we'll have to go back and help Pocahontas once more," declared Asuna.

"Yui, can you set the coordinates for that world?" asked Leafa.

The AI nodded, punched in a series of controls, then uploaded them into the navicomputer. Once that was done, Sora alerted his friends about their next big mission.

"Get ready, Team SSKYYYYYLAARRCCC! Let's fly in the winds of adventures!" he cried, and opened the gate with his Keyblade.

Pulling the throttle, after his remaining friends climbed into the cockpit, they raced off through the gate after the hyperdrive was activated. But even as they were about to reach Pocahontas' world, things began stirring differently in London, as time in that world passed a lot more differently, much like with the other worlds, following the great cataclysm that split them apart. Seagulls flew over the rooftops of that city, church bells rang loudly in the cathedrals, and other bells in the docks rang out. Rats scattered about as they clambered up ropes as well as hid in ships. However, there was a small speck of light in a house near the docks, near the river Thames. John Smith, the former captain of the Virginia Company, even after the founding of Jamestown, stood looking at some books and maps, while also charting other courses. He had recovered from his wounds after saving Pocahontas' father from being killed, but promised that they would always be in each other's hearts. Suddenly, a band of soldiers arrived with swords drawn to capture him.

"He's inside," said one.

"Then snuff him out," commanded Sephiroth, Masamune held tightly in his hand.

They all burst in, and the light on the candle went out. Just as they prepared to search the room for him, Smith dropped down behind them.

"Hey, a party. Am I invited?" he asked.

"Well, well," grinned the One-Winged Angel.

"John Smith, in the name of the king, you are under arrest for treason in Jamestown!" said the captain.

"Treason? You must be looking for Ratcliffe," remarked Smith, and he darted away.

Of course, he did kick one of the soldiers back as he jumped out and ran across the rooftops like an olympic sprinter. The guards followed after him, even as he tried to find a place to hide, but Sephiroth seemed to be one step ahead of him, right as another soldier tried to capture him, only to be punched out and sent plummeting to the river below.

"Thanks for droppin' in. Anyone else care to join him?" questioned Smith, even as he fought with the fallen guard's sword.

But as more guards arrived, Smith jumped from rooftop to another, until it seemed like he was completely surrounded on all sides. Finally, he made a daring leap onto another rooftop, but slipped and fell downwards. Then out of the fog came a figure that he knew all too well.

"The king believed my story. Pity. I so would have preferred to see you hanged," grinned Ratcliffe, and he kicked the former captain into the river below.

But to make doubly sure that Smith would stay dead for good, Sephiroth unleashed Divine Proclamation, and a massive explosion sent water flying upwards and raining down upon everyone.

"Pathetic fool," he said, and the two men exchanged a wicked chuckle.

Later the next day, they addressed King James and his wife Queen Anne of the news they had.

"I did everything I could to save him," wept Ratcliffe.

"Yes. However, even though you wanted John Smith alive and unharmed, the fool fell to his doom, and now his soul rests peacefully in the afterlife with no hope of being restored. But you don't need him as proof to confirm everything my friend has told you," added the One-Winged Angel.

"We must wait until John Rolfe and the chief of these indians," said the queen.

"The chief will only tell you more lies. War is the only option," argued the king's most trusted colleague, as he passed him a roll of parchment.

James read it carefully.

"Very well, Ratcliffe. Prepare your armada then. But we will await the return of John Rolfe… and the Indian chief," he replied.

Far out at sea, a ship was sailing towards Jamestown with the wind blowing against its sails, and a hawk flew overhead towards the home of the very member of the Powhatans that stopped the conflict from turning into all out war, and her name was Pocahontas.
