It was a beautiful sunset in a city in Japan. I was walking towards the station with my brother, who was listening to music on his MP3 Player.
"*Sigh* Once again, we still haven't got any clues or traces to my sister's whereabouts…" I complained. My name is Takeru Yuki. I'm a sophomore in high school. I'm 15 years old. My height is 5 '3, And i gained 130 lbs in weight. My hair is silverish-brown, with honey colored eyes. I was wearing the uniform of My new school, Gekkoukan High School. I had a Kendo Bokken tied to my left hip.
"Yeah, it sucks. Can we go to our new dorm already?" My brother said with an uncaring tone. This is Makoto Yuki. He's one year older than me, and he's a junior in high school. He's taller than me, too. He's also wearing the same uniform I'm wearing.
"This again? Honestly, do you feel any emotion besides being bored at everything and everyone? You always say "I don't care." Most of the time I want to hang out with you!" I scolded. He just shrugged.
"I don't care." He says with a tired face.
"See what I mean?! *Sigh* Whatever… Welp. We've still got one last place to investigate."
"And… where is it?"
"Simple. Tatsumi Port Island, our hometown. I remember last seeing her at the Moonlight Bridge. The site of the accident that took our parents' lives 10 years ago. Since we're moving into the Iwatodai Dorms, we should also investigate what happened during that accident."
For a split second I saw Makoto being surprised and extremely worried. But at that same moment, he reverted back to his bored and uncaring self again.
"*Sigh* Whatever."
'Why is my brother acting like an emo kid? I will never understand what he's thinking.' I thought to myself. We then went on our way to the Monorail to go to our new home.
3rd Person P.O.V*
Meanwhile, in a room somewhere, there was a girl pointing something That's shaped like a gun to her head. She's hyperventilating, as she was nervous.
"Just put it… to my head…" She started to say.
"And then pull the trigger… Come on…" Her finger was almost pulling the trigger, but she gave up at the last second and threw the gun at the ground.
"Urgh! There 's no way! I can't!" She screamed, sliding down to the floor feeling defeated.
April 6th, 2009. 11:50 PM. Monorail Anehazuru.
Takeru 's P.O.V.*
We are currently going to Iwatodai Dorms by ranking the new monorail, Anehazuru. My brother was standing up inside the monorail. While I was sitting down at one of the chairs. I was staring at my older sister's picture, with the Moonlight Bridge in the background. She had blond hair, blue eyes, and she was wearing some type of headphones. She had an expressionless face, akin to a robot or an Android, but I can't ever forget her beautiful smile at our last encounter…
'Onee-chan… Where did you go? It's already been 10 years since we last saw each other… I hope you're doing well…' I sadly thought before taking a power nap to pass the time.
"Your attention please. Today's train schedule will be modified due a rail switching malfunction. We apologize for any inconvenience. The next stop is Iwatodai." I heard the train announcer say, but i was already asleep. In my dreams, I saw a blue– no, Velvet butterfly flying about, and I woke up with a jolt. That was when the train stopped and opened its doors, arriving at our destination. We stepped out of It.
"Iwatodai. Iwatodai. This is the final train bound for Tatsumi Port Island. Please board before the scheduled departure time." We heard the announcer say it again. As we take a look around the station, there's no one there. We're the only ones.
'Makes sense. Since it's almost midnight, everyone must already be asleep.' I thought to myself.
"Well, Home sweet Home, I guess. Time to go to our dorm. Someone must be waiting for us." I said to Makoto.
"Yeah." We started to walk outside the station, and as soon as we scanned our student passes, The clock struck twelve. And suddenly, all the power was out and the sky turned green. Contrary to its normal dark blue color. And the moon also turned green, unlike its normal white. And I felt an eerie and strangely familiar atmosphere.
"Wh- What the–!" I exclaimed.
"Did the power go out? More importantly, why did the sky turn green?!" I was freaking out.
"I don't know… It's strange… Even my MP3 Player stopped working. When it normally should work even on a Power Cut." He agreed, feeling slightly unnerved. As we're walking down the stairs to reach the bottom, we saw something that shocked me even more…
"WHY THE HELL ARE THERE POOLS OF BLOOD ALL AROUND THE FLOOR!!" I screamed. and Makoto slapped me in the back of my head.
"OW!! What was that for?!"
"You were freaking out."
"But that doesn't mean you should slap me! And why are you so calm about all this?!"
"It could be a dream for all I know." Makoto said as he removed his headphones.
"Anyways, we arrived so late. We need to go to the Iwatodai Dorms. It's just up ahead."
"R-right!" We then started to walk towards the Dorms. As I was still looking around being scared at the strange atmosphere I bumped into something and fell on my ass.
"Ow… What did I bump into…" as I raised my head to see what I bumped into, I was even more shocked.
"Is-is-is… Is that… a… COFFIN?!" Makoto helped me up, and he's also staring at the huge coffin.
"Huh. Why is that there?"
"I don't know! And– Hey! Take a look around!" Makoto looked around the quiet strip mall, and there were more of the strange coffins in different locations.
"These coffins are everywhere!"
"Okay, something is definitely going on here. This is not normal." Makoto said with a suspicious look. We then walked along the coffin infested street, until we stopped at our destination.
"Well… This is it, T.K. Our new home."
"Can we get inside now? This atmosphere is freaking me out."
"More than you already are?"
"Shut up, Nii-san!" Makoto opened one of the doors, and we were greeted with a nice looking lounge, with a TV, some nice chairs, and a desk not too far off. There was also a stand, which means that there's a kitchen.
"Whoa… This place is so cool!" I gawked, having stars in my eyes.
"Heh. Yeah. It's not everyday that we can sit down in an almost luxurious lounge." He said with a small smile. We then look at the reception desk, but there's no one there.
"Huh? Where's the receptionist? There HAS to be someone here, by the reception desk." I asked. And then when I turned around…
"Welcome." I hear someone say. It sounded like a young boy's voice, and I heard a finger snap. I turned back to the reception desk, and there was no one there. I look at my brother with a deadpan face.
Ha, ha, ha. Very funny, Nii-san."
"But that wasn't me." We then hear the same voice again.
"You're late. I've been waiting a long time for you two." We then turned to the tv, but… Nobody was there.
"Are we hearing things?" I asked. Makoto shrugged. We returned our gazes to the reception desk, and there was a boy in black and white striped pajamas with blue eyes staring right at us.
"Gah! Where did you come from?!" I jumped, feeling a little more scared than I already am. He chuckles.
"Don't worry. I mean no harm." He reassured me, but that didn't help.
"Who are you?" My brother asked. The boy seemingly ignores the question, and points to a paper that looks like some sort of contract that was NOT on the reception desk before.
"If you wish to proceed, sign your names here. It's a contract." We then take a look at it.
"There's no need to be scared. All it says is that the two of you will accept full responsibility for your actions." He said. We then read the contract a few times, and we stared at each other.
"Nii-san. I've decided. If this is related to Onee-chan's disappearance, we should have more clues about her whereabouts. So I think we should sign it."
"Are you sure T.K?" Makoto asked me. I nodded with determination, which made him have a small smile.
"Alright then, we'll sign it." Nii-san nodded as well. He signed his name first with the feathered pen, and I signed after him. I handed over the signed contract to the kid, who was weirdly smiling, despite the scary atmosphere.
"Here ya go, kiddo. But don't be out and about this late at night. Your parents must be worried about you." I warned him.
"Good." He thanked me. He still had that creepy smile. And then, he started to say some weird things to us.
"Time is something no one can escape. It delivers us all to the same end. You can't plug your ears or cover your eyes." And then he made the contract disappear, as he slowly fades away, he had one last thing to say…
"And so it begins…" After that… He disappeared. Leaving us all alone in the empty lounge.
"Ooooookaaaaayyyy… That was… Something…" I said with a dumbfounded face. My brother just nodded, also being confused. We look around for signs of life, but… There's no one there… Still!
"Hello!! Is someone here?! We're here to check in!!" I yelled. We then hear a Voice coming from the stairs.
"Who's there?!" They yelled back. We looked towards the stairs, and we saw a beautiful girl looking at us with an annoyed face. She rushed to where we were.
"How are you here at this hour?" She asked.
"*awkward chuckle* So, uh… Funny story, the trains were delayed, and that's why we were late. Anyways, good evening! We're the new students that will live in this dorm from now on." I then noticed the armband, and commented on it.
"Are you in a school club? Because that's a cool anagram! S.E.E.S, was it? I wonder what it stands for…"
"That doesn't matter! And you didn't answer my question. Don't tell me…" The girl brushed me aside, but I didn't pay attention. I then noticed a strange thing, and that is the gun holster in her left leg.
"Huh? Why do you have a gun? Is it for self-defense, target practice or something? You better be careful with that thing." I warned. She's still cautious of us. And her hand was dangerously close to the gun. I prepare to retaliate using my wooden Bokken. As i slowly remove It from its sheath, I heard My brother and another voice at the same time shout:
"Wait!" Both of us froze. When I looked behind the brunette, I saw another beautiful girl, this time, she was a redhead. As i put my Bokken back into its sheath, the lights suddenly came back!
"Whoa!" I jumped.
"Huh!?" The first girl yelped. The three of us looked around, and sure enough. The lights are back.
"The lights…" The brunette started.
"They're back… About time." I sighed with relief.
'I was getting tired of that strange, green atmosphere.' I thought. The redhead approached us, and stood next to the brunette.

"I didn't think you would arrive so late." She said with a neutral expression.
"Sorry about that." I said, rubbing my head in embarrassment.
"The trains were delayed. That's why we took too long to get here." I explained.
'Man… What a fluke! I don't know what would have happened If that girl had managed to point the gun at me…' I thought with relief. The redhead introduced herself:
"My name is Mitsuru Kirijo. I'm one of the students who lives in this dorm."
"Kirijo? Hold on, YOU'RE Mitsuru Kirijo?! You're the daughter of Takeharu Kirijo, the CEO of one the most well known companies in Port Island, Kirijo Electronics! They're also known as the Kirijo Group by some people!" I said excitedly. Mitsuru is surprised, but she has a small smile on her face.
"*chuckle* I see my reputation precedes me. I didn't think I would be recognized by someone, but yes. It's me."
"Well, it's a very nice honor to meet you, Kirijo-san. I'm Takeru. Takeru Yuki. This emo looking boy here is my older brother, Makoto." I introduced both myself and Nii-san at the same time.
"...Hey." He quietly greeted her. The brunette asked Mitsuru this:
"Who are they?
"They're transfer students. It was a last minute decision to assign them here. They will eventually be moved to a room in the boys' dorm." Mitsuru explained.
"Is it okay for them to be here?" The brunette asked again.
'Huh? What did she mean by that?' I questioned.
"I guess we'll see." She reassured.
"This is Yukari Takeba. She'll be a second-year this spring, just like you." Mitsuru introduced the brunette, now known as Yukari Takeba, to us.
"Um… Actually, Kirijo-san, I'm… a first-year. My brother is a second-year." I corrected her.
"*chuckle* So, there's no problem, then."
"Call me Takeba." Yukari greeted. I was going to greet her back, but my brother beat me to the punched and asked what I was wondering earlier.
"Why do you have a gun?"
"Makoto! That's rude! But yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Are the streets really THAT dangerous at night?" I scolded him, but I get Where he's coming from.
"Huh? Oh! Um… it's sorta… like a hobby? I mean, not a hobby, but…" Yukari tried to explain, but Kirijo-san took over for her.
"You know how it is these days. It's for self defense. It's not a real gun, of course."
"Oooohh! I get it! You have a model gun! Yeah, you're right. It really helps when you're about to get mugged or other dangerous stuff that'll happen to you." I understood.
"Glad to hear it." Mitsuru said with a smile.
"It's getting late. You'll find your rooms at the end of the hall on the second floor. Your things should already be there. Why don't you get some rest?" She instructed.
"*yawwwwwwwnnn…* Yeah… You're right. It was a long trip, after all. Can one of you show us where they are?" Yukari volunteered:
"Oh! I'll show you the way. Follow me!"
"Hold on, before we go to bed, can I ask you guys something?" I asked with a serious expression.
"Yes? What is it, Takeru-kun?" That's when I showed them my sister's picture.
"Have the two of you seen this girl? She's my missing older sister, and I am currently on a search for her. My brother offered to help me with the investigation, but we don't have any clues or traces. However, I remembered the last location that she was seen. And that was here in Port Island. Which, coincidentally, is our hometown. Born and raised!" The two girls stared long and hard at the picture, but ultimately shaking their heads no.
"My apologies, younger Yuki. But I haven't seen your sister." Mitsuru told me.
"Yeah… I'm sorry, Takeru-kun. I never saw her anywhere." Yukari apologized.
"*Long Sigh*Welp. It was worth a shot." I said with a sad and disappointed face. But I quickly regained my composure.
"Alright then… Lead the way, Takeba-senpai."
"Oh, no. Drop the formalities. We're friends now." Yukari said.
"Ok, Takeba-chan."
'He addressed me as "chan?" He's so polite and sweet…' Yukari thought.
"Okay! Follow me, boys." We then followed Yukari to go up the stairs.
April 7th, 2009 01:10 AM. Dorm, 2nd Floor, Corridor.
As we walked towards our room, we took a look around the second floor. There were some vending machines, a table and some chairs to sit down on, and multiple doors, which are the rooms. We arrived at the end of the corridor, where the doors of rooms are.
"Here are your rooms. It's across from another. Makoto-kun, you take the left door, And Takeru-kun takes the right one. Pretty easy to remember, huh? Since it's right all the way to the end of here.
"*chuckle* Yeah. Thanks, Takeba-chan!" I thanked her with a smile.
"...Thanks." Makoto silently thanked her too.
"*Sigh*What am I going to do to you, Nii-san… You're always acting like nothing impresses you…" I said, with a hand on the forehead. Yukari is confused about this.
"Hm? What 's wrong?"
"It's nothing… It's just… When Makoto was little he used to smile a lot. Now, He's on his… 'emo phase.'" I said with air quotes, still feeling a headache coming.
"Oh. Okay then. So, do you guys have any questions?" Yukari asked. I start to think.
'Oh, Do I HAVE A LOT of questions to you, Takeba-chan…' While I was thinking of what to ask, Makoto asked the question that he was most curious about.
"Does that kid live here too?" I snapped out of my thoughts, and asked a follow-up question:
"Oh yeah! I was also wondering about that. He made us sign a strange contract and all that… Do all new roommates need to sign something before they start to live here?" After that, we put our hands on our chins, and started to think. But Yukari seemed to be more confused and perplexed by these questions.
"Huh? What kid? And, What's this about a contract? If I recall, all new dorm residents need to talk to the staff before living here. What are you guys talking about?" We both left a breath of frustration.
"...It's nothing. We're just tired, is all. Right, Makoto-aniki?"
"...Yeah."
'That' s weird. Yukari doesn't seem to know what we were talking about. Could that kid and that contract only be a dream? Or was it an illusion? I guess I'll never know." I thought to myself.
"Uh, can I ask you something?" Yukari said with an uncomfortable face.
"Sure. Ask away!" I urged her to go ahead.
"On your way here from the station, was everything okay?"
"Hmm… I don't know…" I answered, and began thinking to myself again.
'Hmm… That was an interesting question. Could she be referring to that weird atmosphere from moments ago? And I didn't forget about those pools of blood, or the huge coffins that were everywhere.' As I rambled on and on in my head, Makoto decided to answer Yukari with another question of his own.
"What do you mean?"
"You don't know?" She said, feeling surprised. She was going to say more, but stopped herself. I then snapped out of my thoughts, and tried to join the conversation again.
"Huh? Oh! Sorry about that, I think too much sometimes. What are we talking about again?" I asked the two of them.
"Takeba-san asked us if something happened on the way here after we got out of the station." Makoto explained.
"Oh! Now that you mention it… I think not." I lied.
'Because i was freaking out on the way here!!'
"Well, I guess that means you're fine. Okay then, Don't worry about it then." She reassured us with a smile.
"I better get going." She started to walk away as she said that, while we were going to our rooms. She stopped in the middle to say some last things.
"Um… I'm sure you still have questions, but let's save them for later, okay? Good night."
"Good night, Senpai!"
"Night." Yukari then went up the stairs, back to her room.
"*yawn.*Well, we have school tomorrow, so we best go to bed. I'll see you in the morning, Makoto-nii. Good night!" I bid him goodnight.
"Good night, T.K." We then went inside our rooms and went to sleep to prepare for our first day of school.
Music Ends.*
