"You ready for this scary mission, Xion?"
"Yes, Roxas."
"You're sure you're ready for it?"
"I am."
"Absolutely certain you're ready?"
"Without a shadow of a doubt."
Roxas and Xion were exchanging serious gazes along with their solemn words. The pair of young Nobodies were stood in Twilight Town, having just left behind the Castle of Oblivion. They were about to set off on an important mission together that evening. There was no way they could return to the castle until they'd accomplished this vital task which they could only carry out on this night of the year.
Intensity filled Roxas' face as he looked at Xion. He knew this mission they had ahead of them was going to be a long one. The two of them had done plenty of tough tasks in their time in the Organization, but none were anything like what they were about to do.
Roxas knew he could handle this mission, but he wanted to make sure Xion was also able to. The two Nobodies always tended to do well when working together, but he still had to make sure she would not be in any danger. Seeing her like a little sister, Roxas felt very protective towards Xion. The last thing he wanted to happen during this assignment was for anything awful to happen to her.
"This ain't gonna be an easy mission," he warned.
Xion shrugged. "When are our missions ever easy?"
"There'll be no turning back," Roxas added ominously.
"Then I'll just have to keep on moving ahead," Xion declared.
"There's no telling what we're gonna face tonight," Roxas continued.
"Nothing we can't handle together!" Xion beamed, glancing at what she and Roxas were armed with for the mission.
"You really think you're up to this, Xion?"
"Of course I am!" The girl nodded brightly at the boy. "As long as we're together, Roxas, this mission will be a peace of cake!"
Roxas grinned. Such confidence from Xion made him sure that she could take on this mission they had to do. It was true what they were saying; no matter what they were to face that evening, as long as the two of them stuck together, they would have no trouble completing this task by the end of the night.
"You're right, Xion!" Roxas said. "We've got this in the bag!"
"Then what are we waiting for?" Xion smiled. "Let's get this mission started!"
Roxas nodded, ready for the two of them the start the night's work they had ahead of them - as he knocked the front door of the house they were stood outside.
A light flicked on through the window. The door opened and a little old lady stood there.
"Trick or treat?!" chorused the Nobodies.
"Aww! Don't you two look adorable in your little costumes?"
The little old lady smiled to see the boy wearing white face and a dark suit, as well as fake fangs in his mouth to make him resemble a vampire. She thought he looked as impressive as the girl, who was had triangular ears and a tail on, along with whiskers painted on her face to look like a black cat. Happy to give the young pair what they were seeking, the little old lady took out some candy. She piled some into their bright orange bags, which was what Roxas and Xion were armed with instead of their shiny silver Keyblades.
"There you go, dears," the little old lady said sweetly.
"Thank you, Ma'am," Xion said, bowing politely.
"Yeah, thanks!" Roxas added. "Happy Halloween!"
As soon as the little old lady closed the door, the two teenagers gazed at each other. They were grinning widely over how their mission had gotten off to a good start. If it remained as simply as this, they would easily manage to complete it before the night ended and Halloween was over.
"C'mon, Roxas, no time to waste!" Xion urged. "We've got a lot of houses to visit around this town!"
"And a lot of kids to compete with!" Roxas gazed around at all of the nearby children who were filling the streets of Twilight Town, all dressed in Halloween costumes. "We don't want them to get all the candy before us!"
"No worries, Roxas! Like I said, this mission will be a piece of cake!" Xion peered into the bag which held the goodies which the little old lady had given her. "I wonder if someone will throw in a piece of cake for us?! That would be nice since Axel stuffed himself with the whole Halloween cake at the castle before anyone else got any!"
"We can do it, Xion! As I told you, we got this in the bag!" Roxas laughed and patted his own bag of Halloween candy. "Literally!"
