Chapter 1: Journey Begins
Well, that sucked. I hadn't planned on getting crushed under a collapsing roof. Never even thought of the possibility, but it happened. And now, I'm floating in a void of nothing.
"You died!"
Yeah, no shit. Definitely a screwed situation. Wait…this seems familiar.
"You've been selected, and uploaded, into The Gamer system. Welcome aboard, player. Due to a small fault in the world selection system, your choice has, already, been made for you."
Joy. Well, if I get to live my second life as a video game character…why would I refuse the chance?
"You'll be playing in the world of Pokemon. All regions are available to explore. All Pokemon are obtainable. And…due to world alterations, any stats you increase, will affect your team."
So basically, Pokemon, but the player's team is far more broken than any Pokemon team ever should be. This will be fun.
"Character creation beginning. Would you like to keep your previous appearance?"
I chose not to. I wanted to alter a few things. The changes I made were to have my hair be black, and spiked…in the style that Minato has from the Naruto series. I also changed my eyes, from brown to bright green, like the lights for my Synth's visor. Speaking of whom…I'll be using his name, Zeryph.
"Name registered, welcome Zeryph."
That was fast. Well anyways…I got my appearance done. The next screen after was initial distribution of stats, like the SPECIAL points when making a Fallout character.
"Do note, it took a fair bit of doing to pull this off, but you will be able to use some of the Pokemon moves yourself. You'll also be able to use magic or other abilities that aren't in Pokemon, and depending on the Pokemon, you can even teach them to use some things, such as having a Mega Lucario boosted with Sage Mode."
That's something I'll definitely try to do at some point. So, let's see the Attributes.
"The attributes are as follows. We've removed stamina and carry weight, for convenience. You'll be carrying stuff in a personal pocket dimension. By the way, food and drinks you place there, will stay in the state they were in when you stashed them.
Anyway, Attributes;
Strength: Controls how hard you, and your team, can hit in physical combat. It also has an affect on melee and ranged weapons. It decreases recoil for heavy ranged weapons, as well as letting you move faster when using them. And also, makes you able to swing melee weapons faster and harder.
Additionally, heavy armor is much more easily worn, and won't slow you down. There's no carrying capacity, but heavy armor should still have a slowing effect, provided that it's not powered.
Endurance: Opposite case here, in terms of how much punishment you and your team can take, rather than how much you dish out. It also provides a small boost to your armor ratings, if you decide to wear any armor. Be aware that wearing armor makes you stand out.
Agility: This is a favored stat for light armor users, and favored overall. Especially if you have any flying or fighting types in your roster. It'll let you, and them, move faster, due to being combined with the speed stat. Weight training can make this stat, along with strength, increase faster.
Intelligence: It's pretty obvious what this one does normally. It also increases leveling speed for you and your team. It can also help in hacking, should that need ever arise.
Luck: Just as obvious as the above attribute. But we'll still say what it does. Determines how lucky you are. In the case for this world, it both increases the chance of finding rarer items, such as finding a Master Ball randomly…but also increases your shiny encounter chance.
Charisma: It's a measure of your overall personality. The higher it is, the more people will like you. Being a good trainer works along with this attribute, too. If you have this attribute at a high value, you may find yourself gaining fans much more often. Don't worry, your fans will not mob you at random.
You'll also be able to talk down members of villainous teams, and even get members to defect and start helping you at random.
Perception: How well you pick up on the smaller details. Good perception will also let you detect Pokemon who are invisible, and even sense the Distortion World. It can also enable your team to see things that most normally can't.
And lastly, Willpower: This will affect your magical power, but also…if you have a Psychic type or a Lucario…or both, you can train in the use of Psychic powers, and, Aura. If you train in these things, this attribute will also boost them. It also controls how much Mana you have. It also boosts any attacks classed as special.
You have 100 starting points. You shouldn't put all of them into one stat. It can really screw you over in the long run. Your attributes cap at 252 each, similar to EVs. Starting value places them all at 30. You don't have to worry about the overall cap of 510. This is an RPG, that caps like that don't apply in. This means that your team will eventually be overpowered. But you're meant to have fun, even if it seems totally unfair."
I waited around until all the information sunk in. It seems complicated, but I think I understand. So, here's what I picked for my attributes.
Also, being able to detect Giratina seems interesting. If I can befriend him super early on, that would be a pretty nice bonus to my overall team strength, in the long run.
Nickname: Zeryph
Level one
Race: Human
HP: 250/250
Mana: 450/450
Cash: 0
STR: 40
END: 40
AGI: 40
INT: 50
LCK: 40
CHA: 40
PER: 50
WIL: 40
And so that's the spread I went with. I don't have…much experience, with attribute spread, admittedly. The RPG I played the most, Skyrim, doesn't have an attribute system of its own. So, I just went with evenly spreading my attributes, but I've put the last 30 into higher INT, PER and WIL attributes, bringing them above the other attributes by 10.
"Creation complete. A few more options before you begin. We've asked a player we uploaded, prior to you, the two of the same things. First, would you like to have a Cross-world market system? It will enable you to trade items with players from other play-throughs. Including any loot you get that you don't want."
I nodded, and checked the box for the market system.
"Second, adult content. You likely know what this does. Usually, we don't have to ask this. But the Pokemon world is one of such worlds where we do have to ask. And, yes, adult content also affects the things you can do with your Pokemon. However, you shouldn't go and show any indication that you have such relationships. The Pokemon world you're going in has Pokephilia marked as illegal, although, you'll be able to do a quest related to it, which will reward you with the ability to have relationships of the type, without having to worry about Officers or Rangers."
It should be mentioned also, that any Pokemon you hold a certain type of relationship with, gets a mated bonus. Which increases EXP gains."
An obvious yes. I don't know about any particular interactions with other characters…but I'm definitely going to make some bonds with some Pokemon that are that intimate. Especially with whoever my starter is.
"Third, the ability to understand Pokemon, perfectly, and hold conversations with them."
I didn't hesitate to turn that one on. Being able to hold a full conversation with my team is better than just having to try and guess at what they're saying.
And the last, relates to Z-Crystals, Mega evolution, and Dyna/Gigantamax. Do you want to adjust these to fit more as a natural ability that doesn't have any limitation to how often you can use them, or do you want them kept to the game rules?"
"Adjust them. But keep the Z-crystals and Dynamax locked to their regions. Also, as far as moves go, remove the four-move limit, because I don't want to deal with that."
"Done. All additional options set. Beginning the game. By the way, your laptop and phone are carrying over"
Cool. The world faded from a black void, to bright white light…which then gradually faded to orange. The light of the morning sun shining in my window. A soft knock on my bedroom door caught my attention. "Zeryph, are you up?"
I heard Delia's voice from the other side of the door. "We didn't state the backstory, so we'll do it here right quick. Delia Ketchum is your aunt. Your actual parents were killed on the job- they were Rangers- and so you were sent to live with your aunt. By the way, some choices you made mean that you're starting your journey at 18. Much older than usual, but nobody will think any different of you for it. Ash will still be starting at 10, but is your cousin, too."
I nodded, then spoke. "Yes, aunt Delia. I'm up. What time is it?" I got out of bed and began to change clothes, as well as packing things for my impending journey. "It's 7, AM. You and Ash need to be at the lab in an hour." If I remember right, Ash got Pikachu because he was late. Buuut…me being here means nothing has to happen as it normally did.
I'm absolutely changing the flow of things. Assuming Dialga doesn't go and get pissed about the original timeline being thrown out the window. I'll have to get on his good side, for sure. Same case for Celebi. Although, I assume this timeline is already altered anyway. Seeing as my presence alone, and the fact that the regions from all eight generations are here, both mean that it's already not the original timeline.
I finished changing and packing, then stepped into the hall, just as my aunt was headed down the hallway. I'm not sure what the story says about my name, whether it's because my parents chose it, and everyone thinks it's odd, or if it's just like my original self, where I chose it as a nickname.
I walked up to my cousin's door, and knocked. Hard. Resisting the urge to try and mimic Roman from GTA 4, I yelled for my cousin." Yo, cousin, get up! We've gotta be at Oak's lab in an hour." I didn't hang around to see if he did get up, instead heading down the hall, and down stairs, to the first floor. The smell of pancakes, eggs and bacon got an increase in my pace. I quickly moved for the dining area's table, and sat down at my usual spot. My aunt sat a mug of coffee at my spot, already mixed to the way that I prefer it.
That's odd, I don't remember liking this. Ah well, better to not suddenly say I don't like it. I lifted the mug and blew on the contents, before starting to sip from it. I heard the sound of footsteps, as my cousin came down the stairs. "Good mornin' Ash." I greeted the star of the Anime. "Good morning, Zeryph." He took a seat across from me. I'd noticed the positioning of his own legs, accommodating for my own.
By that, I mean that my first life's height of 6'6" carried over. I'm glad that my family, in this world, knows how to seat themselves to fit with my need to stretch my legs out. In fact, in my first life, my family's nickname for me, ironically, was midget. I never complained, since the irony made the nickname worth it.
Aunt Delia set a glass of water on the table for my cousin, then went back to preparing breakfast. It looked like she was just about finished. Had I gotten up before her, I would've made breakfast myself. If I could find some chocolate chips for the pancakes, especially.
"Ready to get your starter today, Ash?" I asked him. If I have any sway, I will make damn sure you get Pikachu. He's your signature Pokemon, after all. "You bet I am. Have you decided on what your starter will be?" A…I don't know. There's something special about this day, besides it being the one I'm starting my journey on.
"I'm not sure what I'm going to pick, yet." I answered. Delia interrupted any further conversation by setting our breakfast on the table. I quickly dug in. I was excited, maybe not as much as Ash, but also not enough to rush my eating to the point of being risky.
Since we focused on eating, it didn't take too long for us to finish our breakfast. I took a little extra time to clean up everything, accepting the thanks from my aunt for taking care of dishes, then I grabbed my bag, and swung it over my shoulder, before settling it into a position that was comfortable.
I saw my cousin set his signature hat on his head, after he'd grabbed his things, too. "Well, we're going to get our starters. We'll stop back by, before we depart for Pewter." I said, as my cousin and I started to step outside. At the wave of my aunt, I pulled the door shut behind me, and then my cousin and I started to walk to the lab.
It didn't take us too long to get there. We beat the crowd too, it seems. The lab door swung open as I pushed it. "Ah. Zeryph, Ash, good morning." Professor Oak greeted us as we arrived. "Good morning, Professor. We're early, but we're still here for our starters." I responded. "Come right this way then. Even if you're early, you can still go ahead and pick."
I decided to pick first. Pulling from my list of starting spells, I muttered a quick "Observe" for each of the present Pokeballs. All three of the Kanto starters were there. "Oh, Zeryph, since you're starting at 18, rather than 10, you can choose to have non-standard starters." Ooh, sweet. "I have some set out for you, over there. Although, I have a guess at who it might be." He pointed out a set of extra Pokeballs, all on their own.
"Oh, and here, take these." The Professor then handed the two of us a Pokedex, one for each of us. "Thanks, Professor. You've explained it to me, already, so you can explain to my cousin, while I pick out a starter." I put my Pokedex in my bag, using it to cover up placing it in my inventory space.
One of the balls felt familiar. I searched through the memories prior to my arrival, and smiled at what I saw. I picked up the ball on the left, and quietly whispered. "Hey, girl…ready to get going, finally?"
"So, you're taking her back, huh?" I nodded at Oak's question.
"Yup. Oh, hey…what about this one, for Ash?" I pointed out the fourth Pokeball on the table. It looked normal, minus the tiny lightning bolt symbol on it. "Oh, that one…was recently caught. Very recently, so, I wouldn't suggest it."
"Please, Professor, let him have it." I responded. "Oh, alright. Here, Ash, you can have this one for your starter." He handed the Pokeball over to Ash. I smiled. Ensure Ash gets Pikachu, check. As he started to release his signature team member, and his partner for eight generations of Pokemon, I stepped outside. Not wishing to be targeted by the Pikachu.
Gary was outside, when I stepped out. He was just walking up to the building. So was the boy that took the Charmander who eventually became Ash's. What was his name again? I don't remember. "Hey Gary." 'Ha ha ha. Ga~ry.' That's a reference by the way. Should be pretty obvious to what. "Hey Zeryph, where's Ash?" He seemed…oddly nice. I guess he acted differently towards me, either because I'm older by eight years, or, because his rivalry's with Ash, and not myself. I gestured with a hand, saying that Ash was still inside, without needing to speak.
"Alrighty." He then eyed my belt. "Oh, have you already got yours?" I nodded. "Yup. Dunno what it is yet, but I'll find out soon." A lie, since Observe tells me exactly what's in a Pokeball. And besides, I already knew her, anyway. As he and the other guy started inside, the huge crowd that I remember shows up. I quickly…put distance between us. I…don't like crowds. Never have, in fact. If I've got my mind set on something, then they don't bother me. As much.
I chuckled at a sudden mental image…an idea of if my starter had somehow ended up being Arceus. Granted, I probably could make that happen, buuut…no. Even if it sounds like a really funny idea. It was several minutes before my cousin finally appeared from within the lab. There was also the whole thing with Gary driving off in a car (At ten. I don't understand that, even now. I didn't decide to get my driver's license until I was nineteen. And that was in my first life.)
"Hey Ash, let's go home right quick and introduce our starters." He nodded, and we started for home. From the fact he already looked a mess, I'd imagine his shocking introduction went just as it did originally. I saw Pikachu following behind him.
"Have you released your starter yet?" Ash asked as we were walking home. "Not yet. I'm waiting until we're back home. That's when I'll let mine out." I answered. "Hopefully, you won't keep yours stuffed in that ball, either." I smiled. So that's working, at least. "Don't worry, I won't. In fact, if I can manage, nobody on my team is going to stay in their balls." I responded to what he'd said. I didn't see his, or my cousin's, reaction.
"Who are you talking to?" Ash asked, just as we were approaching our home. "Your Pikachu."
I stopped, when I noticed that Ash did. "You…can understand Pokemon?" I nodded, "yup. Very clearly. Which means, I can translate. Unless you pick up a Psychic type or a Lucario and want to leave translation to them instead."
"What's a Lucario?" I waved off his question. "Never mind that. Let's go introduce our starters." He wouldn't be meeting a Lucario for a few years, yet. We got home, and I knocked on the door. At Aunt Delia's call to come in, I opened the door.
"Hey, welcome ba…Ash? What happened?" I chuckled, and had to hold back on laughing even louder at my cousin's glare. "Ash's Pikachu happened. A shocking introduction, to be sure." Ash's glare intensified at my use of a pun. Although, my Aunt, and Pikachu, laughed, so it was worth it. "So anyway, who's your starter."
I took the ball from my belt. "Alright girl, come on out and say "Hi." I spoke as I tossed it. The ball popped open. With the unforgettable sound and flash of light, my Garchomp materialized, causing a thud as she landed. I already knew she was female, based on memories from the years I skipped over.
She began to stretch, the moment she was out. As soon as she was done stretching, she sent me a half-hearted glare, for a brief moment. I was then nearly knocked off my feet by her, and her arms came around me in a tight hug. "You finally let me back out…I was beginning to wonder if you were ever going to take me back. It's been four years…since you handed me over."
"Sorry about that, I wanted to wait so those I wanted to introduce you to, were all in the same room. Cousin, Auntie, this is my starter. She's a Garchomp." Ash dug his Pokedex from his bag and used it to scan her. I tuned out what the 'dex said about my starter, because I already knew it. "It's nice to meet you, Garchomp." My aunt was the first to speak, once Ash's Pokedex stopped talking. My Garchomp responded with a quiet huff, and a nod in my aunt's direction.
"By the way, I think I'm going to start calling you Kaorah." After my actual Garchomp, in Sword. The only difference between the pair is that this one here isn't shiny. The one I have in the games, is shiny. And also, I knew from memories of the skipped years, that I never gave her a name. "Kaorah…I like it." I thought that you would. "Well, with introductions out of the way, I think it's time for us to leave and start our journey. First stop, Viridian City. We should get going, because there's a thunderstorm that'll be coming in, in a little bit."
"You're right, we should get going." My cousin agreed. Especially if we're going to be there at the right time to encounter Misty. I'm not sure about the flock of Spearow though, since my starter's a ground type. Admittedly, she's also really powerful. A quick Observe on her revealed that she in fact shared the same stats as I did, plus extra points from her IVs. Speaking of…I guess my luck stat kicked in, because hers were perfect.
Yeah, the only thing keeping her from being REALLY overpowered…not that she isn't already OP, is the fact she doesn't have a means to Mega Evolve. Yet. She's already powerful enough, anyway. And with her starting four moves, at least, the ones she had equipped (I'm not sure how that works, yet.) were Scale Shot, Earthquake, Fire Fang, and Swords Dance. It makes me wonder if my System didn't just copy her from my memories of playing Sword.
Again, without her being Shiny.
Ash and I said our goodbyes, although his took a bit longer than my own did. And then, the four of us; he, myself, and our starters, set out for Viridian City. I zoned out during the walk for the most part, though I did still listen to the quiet talk that Kaorah and Ash's Pikachu were having. Despite the fact that Kaorah was a type that Pikachu had a massive weakness to, they seemed to get along anyway.
That's good. Although Ash and Pikachu didn't have their friendship going, yet, it wouldn't be too long until they did.
The sighting of a Pidgey caught our attention. Ash readied a Pokeball to try and catch it right away, but I caught his arm before he could throw it. "Hold on a moment, you've gotta battle them first. If you don't mind, I'd like to take this one, to demonstrate what I mean." At my cousin's nod, I whistled, getting the flying type's attention.
"Alright girl, time for our first battle. You ready?" I asked Kaorah. The Pidgey then noticed her. Even though it had the advantage, being a flying type, it still looked intimidated. It likely hadn't seen a Garchomp before, since they're not in Kanto, normally.
"Certainly. Let's do this." I brought up a settings screen, thankfully not visible to anyone but myself, and turned off notifications for ally abilities, seeing as Kaorah buffing herself with Swords Dance, repetitively, would create a small annoyance due to the amount of notifications. By the way, the visual effects for the game weren't there. And since this was live combat, not turn based, she could buff as many times as she wanted, in one go.
She then began goading the bird into attacking her. She already out-sped the thing anyway. When the Pidgey finally did attack, going for Peck, Kaorah was ready for it. She countered the Pidgey's attack, catching its wing with Fire Fang. Thankfully, Pokemon moves are, by default, non lethal unless ordered to not hold back.
Kaorah proved that she was strong, that's for sure. A single attack knocked the Pidgey out cold. I then caught the bird, and clipped its ball to my belt. Observe revealed that he was level five, starting with Gust, Peck and Sand-Attack. Interesting, since they normally don't learn Peck that early on.
Battle won! You gained 20 XP, Kaorah gained 30.
Also, there's that. I needed a thousand for my next level. I don't know how much Kaorah needed for her next one. By the way, despite being fully evolved, which normally needed level 48, she's listed as level one. I think it's referring to the same leveling system as mine, not the Pokemon levels. If she's as strong as this now, I wonder what she'll be like at max level. Especially if she's in her Mega form.
Doubly so for her Dynamax form, when that comes around.
"Wow...your Garchomp's really strong." My cousin commented on the battle. Yes, yes she is. Of course, she's also technically overleveled, by Pokemon standards, anyway. She's definitely non-standard as a starter, too. Especially in Kanto.
With the battle done, we began to walk again, stopping after another short while, when Misty turned up, on her bike. I was zoned out, otherwise I would've seen her long before she'd need to warn me. "Look out!" I snapped back to attention. Way too close to dodge, so I did the next best thing. I caught the bike, dead stopping it. That didn't stop Misty's forward momentum, which means that she wiped out. Kaorah caught her, though.
Ya know, for me having a PER stat so high, I seem to space out a lot. Especially if I'm focused on something specifically, such as the walk to Viridian in this case. And considering I was already trying to sense for Giratina's presence, I should've noticed Misty WAY before now.
"Hey, what was that for?!" I checked the palm of my hand, which was messed up by catching the bike by its front wheel. I winced at the blood on my hand, and balled it into a fist, holding it so that they wouldn't see. The small drop of 5 HP didn't worry me as much. Really, the injury looked worse than it was. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. If I had seen you sooner, I would've gotten out of the way."
"Well at least it's not damaged. I…your hand, it's bleeding." I'd lost five HP, too, as I already said. "It'll be fine."
"No, it won't." She grabbed my other arm, and started to try and pull me along, although I was barely moving. "Come on, we're going to get something to patch that up." This isn't how she was, originally. I know that for sure. As we started to move though…a cawing sound got our attention. How'd my Perception not alert me to them, too? I really need to not focus on one thing at a time, else the attribute's going to be for nothing.
The flock of angry Spearow. The same one Pikachu takes out in a single go. "Uh…hey Pikachu, think you can handle this one?" I asked the mouse. "No problem. Ready." Kaorah put a claw on my shoulder, and another on Misty's. And then Pikachu fired off the attack that knocked the flock out…the same one that also shocked my cousin, and destroyed Misty's bike.
And that's why you don't speak too soon. On the plus side, Kaorah pulled the lightning away from myself and Misty, so we didn't get a shock like my cousin did. "My bike!" Aaand…she noticed. "Worry about it later. We have another issue." I pointed out the approaching thunderstorm. Kaorah and I would be fine. I didn't mind storms, and she was immune to lightning.
My cousin had Pikachu to deal with lightning, himself. Misty though…we didn't have anything for her. "Look, I promise, I'll find a way to replace your bike. We need to go, before that storm gets here." I spoke. "I'll hold you to that. Let's go." We took off for Viridian, doubling the pace my cousin and I had previously been walking at.
It was starting to rain, just as we entered the city. I don't know if the Ho-oh sighting is still going to be a thing. On the plus side, we still got to the city before the rain could get heavy. We all headed for the Pokemon center, and went inside as soon as we got there, out of the rain. Although, as I said with Giratina, befriending Legendaries early on is a really good idea. Especially if I can recruit them, too.
I walked up to the counter, and took the Pokeball for my recently caught Pidgey off my belt. "Hey, Nurse Joy, right? I've got one who needs a bit of attention." I handed her the Pokeball. "He's a Pidgey, caught him not too long ago. My starter over there, knocked him out with one hit. Bit his wing. I just want you to make sure it's not seriously injured."
She nodded, and took the Pokeball from the counter. "We'll take care of him. Are you going to be staying for the night?" I didn't even realize how late it was getting. I guess the walk took longer than I thought it did. Even if we did double time it. "We will be. Does it cost anything?" I asked her. "Lodging and food are both free, in most Pokemon centers anyway. Some do have a cost, but not all of them do. Especially the one at the base of Mt. Silver. That one's always been free, but doesn't have nearly as many rooms as most others."
I was going to insist on paying for the food though, if I got any. They already give free rooms, so I see no reason to also get the food without paying for it.
She reached beneath the counter, and pulled out three keys. "Here you go. One for each of you three." I took the keys from her. "Thanks. I believe we'll be going to get settled in." We hadn't encountered Officer Jenny yet…and also hadn't seen Team Rocket sneaking around. Yet.
"Ash, and uh…didn't get your name." I got their attention. I didn't want to give away that I already knew who Misty was…or any of my other foreknowledge, especially since not all of it will be correct. "It's Misty." I nodded, then spoke. "Alright. Anyway, here." I handed them each a room key. "For the night. We'll head out in the morning. Our next stop is Pewter, I believe." They took the keys from me. I decided that I wanted to go ahead and go settle in. I saw Ash heading for the video phones.
He was likely going to have that call from Professor Oak, like in the original series, only he hadn't seen Ho-oh yet. Misty and I both headed for our rooms, with Kaorah following behind us. Misty split off as we passed her room. Kaorah and I continued on, until we found ours. I unlocked the door and opened it. Gotta say, it's a pretty nice room. This one had two beds. I'd have to remember to thank Nurse Joy in the morning. Even though Kaorah's a ground type, a bed's still better than sleeping on the floor, or inside a ball.
As Kaorah entered the room, I pushed the door shut and locked it.
"Alright…finally got some privacy, so I can reveal some pretty heavy things. Only members of my team need to know this, for right now." Kaorah gave me a confused look. "OK, this is going to sound weird. Have you noticed that you feel…stronger than you remember feeling?" I asked her.
"Actually, yes. What's that about?" I began my explanation. "It's a power I have, known as The Gamer. Basically, I live my life as though I were the protagonist of an RPG. And…one of the things part of it, is that all my stats are shared with my teammates, that includes you," I went over to one of the beds and sat down. "So…like say…if you get stronger, then I benefit from it, too?" I nodded. "But also, when you win a battle and get EXP, I get some too."
"I…see. Alright. It'll take some, getting used to, but we can make it work." I nodded. "You'll also be able to resist things your types normally make you weak too. And even damage types that have an immunity to your own." I saw that glint in her eye. Plotting revenge against Fairy types already, aren't ya. "You'll also be able to resist status effects, and see through illusions."
I gave some time for it to sink in. Once it did, I brought up the other subject. "Now…for the other…thing. This is entirely up to you, though. See…there's a bonus that comes with it. I can…mate, with my Pokemon, and it will give them EXP bonuses, in the long run. Like I said, it is entirely up to you."
A small blush formed on her face. "That's…I, uh…didn't think there was a benefit to…" I nodded. "I understand if you'd rather not talk about it." She shook her head. "No, no…it's fine. Just…well, how do I put this…" Her blush deepened, a little. "See…here's the thing. I've…um, been waiting…for the past four years, since you…made a promise…since you put me in the ball for four years." She walked up and settled onto my lap. I'd say she's surprisingly light, but it's probably my strength attribute handling that.
"You trained me in secret for most of that time, but also…Oak's team helped, too. I tried, so much…to show you how I felt, because…you didn't understand me like you do now. But…you never caught on." She nuzzled me, hard. I flinched, slightly. "Not so hard with your nuzzles. You might hurt something."
"S-sorry…so…I, uh…"
I put a finger on the end of her snout, silencing her. "It's okay…really. Just, give me a moment. I've gotta search through my memories. I'm not quite the same as you once knew, because of The Gamer stuff." The world faded out as I sunk into my mind. Even the weight of the dragon on my lap faded away into nothing. I then proceeded to go back, tracing over the previous seventeen years, looking for the exact moment that I met her as a Gibble.
Eight years, four of them without her, following a promise that I'd let her back out again one day. The four before that. Four years of training, four years of a strong, budding bond. Two years…of her showing a crush on me, by getting flustered in my presence, and her enthusiastic greetings whenever I'd see her, usually involving a hug that would nearly knock me off my feet.
The end of the fourth year…brought about an acknowledgement for the crush. A kiss on the end of her snout, in the same place I'd just put my finger to silence her, just before my memory dive. And a promise. One that I'd be ready, one day…and that I'd let her out on the day I was…which as it so happens, coincided with the day that Ash and I started our Pokemon journeys. Four years later.
My world faded back in, as I came out of my memory dive. I leaned forward, and kissed her in the same spot I had four years ago. I saw her cheeks light up again, in her species' equivalent to a blush. I wrapped my arms around her waist, and crossed them behind her back, just above her tail. I felt her arms encircle me, and she squeezed, as gently as she could manage.
"So, you're…finally ready." I nodded. "How far do you want to go?" She tilted her head at my question. "What do you mean…as in…?" I nodded, again. "Don't think about how far I'm willing to go. Because I'm willing to go all the way. Only focus on what you want to do, and I'll do what you say you want to." She nodded. I felt her claws gently brush against my back, and I felt her start to lift my shirt off. I helped her with it, since she didn't have proper hands for it.
"I want to…to go all the way." I gave her another smile. "Then, I need you to lift up for a moment. I can't really pull my shorts off, with you on my lap." She lifted herself up, and I removed what I'd still been wearing. As soon as I had, she settled back onto my lap. I saw her blush deepen. For a species that's usually quite serious, personalty wise, she's really acting different. I just guess it's the situation we're both in.
The wetness between her legs, helped confirm how much she wanted this. "Are you ready?" I asked. "Y-yes…I'm ready." At her confirmation, I lifted her off my lap, just enough to get myself lined up, then I slowly lowered her down, sliding in. She was tight, not enough to be a problem for either of us, though. Her arousal also certainly helped.
Her blush deepened, the most I've seen so far. "Mmmm…" I smiled at the quiet sound she made. I'd expected to have to break something as I pushed in, but I didn't. "I need you to be as quiet as you can. You can still make sounds for me, but keep them quiet. We definitely don't need to wake anyone else." At her nod, I started thrusting. I kept the pace slow, and steady. I felt some weight settle onto my right shoulder, from her resting her head there. The quiet sounds of her enjoyment right in my ear. I suppose, since I asked her to keep quiet, she was going to make sure that I could still hear whatever sounds she did make.
But not at a volume that had a risk of alerting others who may be staying in their own rooms. Finding a place for this wonderful intimacy would be even harder, when our group is camping. Especially if I wind up having to share a tent with anyone other than Kaorah. If there's a soundproofing spell, it's a priority.
My arms found themselves around her waist, once again. And I felt hers wrap around me. I settled into a rhythm that we could both enjoy. I imagine that her being a dragon type, probably means she'd prefer a much rougher approach, but this was the first one. Which she'd waited years for. I was going to let her enjoy this as long as possible.
And although the Gamer's perks meant I didn't need to sleep, she still would. Especially after all this. That is, if she gets tired from it. She shares stats with me, so she probably won't. Especially if my perks also affect her in more than just the ways I mentioned.
"M-master…please…speed up." I did as she requested. Her moans increased in volume, slightly, and she tightened the embrace, a little bit. Although, it still wasn't to the point that I was starting to lose HP.
For the next, most precious quarter of an hour I've ever had, I sat with a dragon in my lap, thrusting into her, enjoying the quiet sounds of her moans in my ear. We didn't break up the flow with speech, we didn't need to. I felt a feeling from prior experience. A warning to myself that I was closing on my end point. "M-master…I think…something's…" And that told me that she was, too. Her referring to me as Master, by the way. It's…something that I like, honestly.
It's not just respect that comes from her calling me that. I can hear it in her tone, the love she holds for me. It's there in her eyes, too. I didn't feel a need to speak, so I simply increased the pace we'd been going at for the past fifteen minutes.
"Mmmm…M-master…" And there it is. I felt her insides suddenly tighten around me, and winced at the sudden feeling of her biting down on my shoulder. Thankfully not in a spot that could cause serious problems, but there was a decent dip into my HP reserves. I gave a quiet growl, the first sound I'd made during this whole time, and I came inside of her. She shuddered within my hold, and she squeezed tighter with her own.
I gradually slowed to a stop, letting her have time to ride out her orgasm. I felt her release my shoulder from the hold in her jaws. She gave me an apologetic look, but I still smiled at her. "It's okay. You had to quiet it somehow." I kissed the end of her snout, much like I did before we'd started. I pulled out, not missing her slightly disappointed look. I think I'll keep the bite scars. Treat it as a mate's mark. I just don't really have the means to mark her, in return.
Mated bonus applied. Kaorah's EXP gains are now increased. Bonus EXP will be given at the end of battles.
But she settled her head onto my other shoulder. We continued to hold each other in an embrace for some time. I started to rub her back, right around the base of her dorsal fin. The soft gasp from her told me she liked that. "If we ever have a tough day, I'd be glad to give you a massage. I think you'd enjoy it." I felt the shift of her head as she nodded. A soft rumbling sound interrupted any more intimacy we could've managed.
"Aww…ruin the mood, why don't you?" I responded with a quiet chuckle. The grumbling was her stomach. I guess we both forgot to get supper, before doing what we'd just done. "It's OK. I'll order us some food from room service. But, we should clean up our mess first." We released our embrace, and she got out of my lap. I caught her eyes wandering, and flashed her another smile, before I got up, myself.
We spent a short while cleaning everything up. It helps that the System decided to add some minor spells to my list, to aid in the process. I'd also noticed a soundproofing spell on the list. That would've been nice to know earlier, but I didn't check. Kaorah would've probably still bitten my shoulder, though. By the way, that's already scarred, but I'm not letting it heal past the state of being a scar.
When we finished cleaning up, including a shared shower, in which we did not go another round, for tonight anyway. I used a pair of towels to dry us off, her before myself, then I dug the pajama pants I packed from my bag, and put them on. I then I picked up the room's phone and called for room service. I didn't feel like I needed to wear a shirt, even with the rather obvious bite mark.
Pokemon would understand the mark. Any human would likely just think she bit me by accident.
If not for the fact we needed to avoid giving the one bringing our food a surprise they didn't plan on…I'd more than happily hold Kaorah in an embrace again. But at the small risk, though quite worth it, of getting us both worked up again.
A soft knock drew our attention to the door. "Room service." I heard the voice on the other side. I got up from my bed and went to go answer the door. An Audino, interestingly, was the one pushing the cart. There was also a certain Pidgey perched on his head. He didn't seem to mind the bird's presence. "Hey, boss. They said I could hitch a ride with the chef, here." A Pokemon who knows how to cook. Awesome. If I ever get my own Audino, I'll make sure to teach that same skill…although I feel that Brock's presence in the group will make up for not having one, once he joins us.
Would also be nice to have a healer on the team, anyway. Especially if I can teach some Restoration magic. Make them into a battle healer.
"Hey lil' bud. How's your wing?" He held up the wing that Kaorah bit. The feathers were a little singed, still, but other than that, it looked OK. "It's alright. The Garchomp's Fire Fang didn't do any serious damage, just singed my feathers. She didn't damage the primaries." Good. I patted my unmarked shoulder, and he took flight, briefly, and landed there.
"Thanks for bringing us some food." I made a motion with my hand, and Kaorah brought my wallet to me. Allowing me to dig out something to pay for it. "You don't need to pay for the food." I shook my head. "The room's already free. I think I still should pay for the food, at least. Plus a tip for walking it out here to us." The Audino simply shrugged, nodded, and accepted what I'd offered.
Of course, him looking up to take it, meant he saw the bite on my shoulder. "Your shoulder. Are you…" He trailed off, as the realization set in. I heard the quiet sound of him sniffing. He then shot us- myself and Kaorah- a look. I suppose showering didn't cover certain scents, to those with a strong nose. "Did you clean up your mess, at least?" I responded with a nod. "Good. Don't worry…I won't say anything. But you," he pointed at me, then at my recent scar, "should keep that, covered up. There's not any Rangers or Police here, but their Pokemon probably would rat you out if they saw it." I nodded.
"Thanks for the advice." I took the plates of food from the cart, and into the room, then sat them on the table where I'd placed my bag. "Cover what up?" My Pidgey asked from my other shoulder. He seemed to not notice, I guess. I might as well keep him around. He and Ash's Pidgeot will definitely get along. I just need to see about getting him evolved before we meet her. I guess…he also didn't know what a mate's mark was.
"Nothing you need to worry about." The Audino quickly said, sharing a look that told me to keep it quiet. I nodded, let Pidgey figure it out on his own. By the way, I need to think of a nickname for him. I returned to the cart and grabbed Pidgey's ball, then headed back into the room. I suppose, flying types…at least the birds anyway, likely don't have a way of marking their mates. I think the bite's specific to some species, and that's why he doesn't know.
The Audino bid us goodnight, before I shut the door, then I locked it, both the handle and the chain. I'd have to be a bit more careful then, it seems…as far as my strengthened relationship with Kaorah goes. Since a Pokemon with a good sense of smell, especially if they know Odor Sleuth, would be able to pick up on the fact we shared each other's scent, even if it's as little as possible.
The three of us dug into our supper. I'd noted that it was one of the Curry recipes from Galar. Those always looked so delicious. And getting to actually try one…well, it proves they're as good as they look. It was the sausage one, to be clear.
I'd noticed that, interestingly, the stuff from the original second episode, Pokemon Emergency, hasn't happened for the most part, other than meeting Misty, and Pikachu frying the flock of Spearow. He wasn't injured, though…not this time anyway.
It was just as we finished supper, that my silent thought about the episode came to fruition. An alarm started to sound through the Pokemon Center. I recalled Pidgey into his ball and quickly grabbed my belt, and a shirt. "Kaorah, come on. We need to get to the foyer, quickly." The pair of us rushed from our room, and into the Pokemon Center's Foyer, just in time to catch the end of Team Rocket's first intro.
"Poison types, two of them. Kaorah, do you know any ground type moves that won't cause collateral damage?" She shook her head. We'll have to work on that. If I can find Zygarde and get his permission, and help, I'll see to it that Kaorah learns Thousand Arrows. It'll really help her with her flying type weakness, as well as being a counter to levitation.
While Ash and Pikachu seemed to have the Ekans distracted, Kaorah and I were left to deal with Meowth and James's Koffing. Kaorah fixed the two Pokemon with a glare. It seems her being not native to Kanto has a few more advantages. Her glare alone, easily intimidated the pair of Pokemon.
"I've never seen any Pokemon like her, before." Oh, that's right. Meowth knows how to speak English. I…do not know how I forgot that. "Her name's Kaorah, she's a Garchomp." I didn't mind explaining. "She's from Sinnoh, and she's a Dragon/Ground type." The Ekans stopped fighting Pikachu, and focused on my partner for a moment. He actually looked worried.
The Koffing, not so much. I'm assuming that he has Levitate then. Blast…without Thousand Arrows, that might be an issue. I saw him trying to be intimidating, but it wasn't working. A quick use of Observe told me about the opposing Pokemon.
Koffing
Level 5
Ability: Levitate
Weaknesses: Psychic
Resistances: Grass, Fighting, Poison, Bug, Fairy
Immunities: Ground (Levitate. Specific moves will remove this immunity)
Ekans
Level 12
Ability: Intimidate.
Weaknesses: Ground, Psychic.
Resistances: Bug, Fighting, Poison, Fairy, and Grass
Immunities: None
An Unusual Meowth. (I hid any sign of amusement, at that one)
Level 30
Ability: Unnerve (Although, that didn't seem to be working on Kaorah, either. I'll be asking the System if Gamer's Mind works on Pokemon abilities, and if it does, if the nullifying ability that comes with it is shared to my party.)
Weaknesses: Fighting
Resistances: None
Immunities: Ghost
This Meowth is the third member of the squad, along with Jessie and James. Though it's unusual, he does fit right in. He gives the squad an extra Pokemon, for when in battle, but neither of his fellow members are listed as his trainer. He uses his own moves when he feels like it.
"Ekans, use Dig." I hid any sort of reaction, other than what I said. "That's a bad idea. Kaorah, shake him out. But try to not damage our surroundings. Pikachu, get off the ground." Kaorah lifted a foot, and stomped it. With a bang, the ground trembled. Apart from dislodging a lot of dust, and probably waking a few people up, she didn't do any collateral damage. Pikachu listened to what I said, jumping at the exact right time to avoid the Earthquake's shock wave.
Jessie's Ekans resurfaced almost immediately, his HP had plummeted to zero. Earthquake hits twice as hard on anyone using Dig. And if they have the type weakness, even harder. The squad's Meowth was knocked off his feet, too. As were the two humans on the squad. James's Koffing was the only one who didn't have to worry about it, other than myself.
I'm just glad that Kaorah's moves aren't actually going to kill someone. At least, not without me saying that she doesn't need to hold back.
"Good job. Now…about that Koffing." I wasn't going to make her bite the thing. And Ash's Pikachu using Thunder Shock, would blow up the Pokemon Center. I sent out my Pidgey. "Pidgey, I need some wind. Whip up a gust for me. Aim it at the Koffing." He did as he was told. I sparked up a simple flames spell, and cast it into the air stream. It caught alight in an instant.
"YAaaah!" And so did the Koffing. On the plus side, the fact that the room was open to the air outside, meant that it was ventilated, well enough that the Koffing's gas couldn't fill the room and create an explosion hazard. Something I'd neglected to think about when I mentioned that Pikachu's Thunder Shock would blow us up.
The poison type's HP hit zero, though not as fast as the Ekans from when Kaorah used Earthquake. The moment the Koffing fainted, the flames were extinguished. The humans of the squad recalled their Pokemon, and made for a hasty retreat. It wasn't long before they were flying away in their balloon. A quick, and well aimed, Scale Shot from Kaorah, sent them blasting off into the sky.
Battle won! You gained 30 EXP, Kaorah gained 60, Pidgey gained 20.
Mate boost applied. Kaorah received an extra 30 EXP.
Good to see that's already working. Now, I'm probably not going to form the same bond I have with her, with any other female Pokemon my team picks up. Unless it becomes clear that one of them wants it. Kaorah walked over to me. "Well, that's that. Alright…let's all go get some rest. We've got a bit of travel ahead of us, tomorrow." I suggested.
Aside from receiving Nurse Joy's thanks for fending off Team Rocket, nothing else happened. Allowing for my group to head for our rooms. I pulled my shirt off, once I was back in my and Kaorah's room, with the door locked. I went over to the bed I'd originally claimed, and laid down. I felt it shift as the Dragon Type settled into the bed next to me, and then I felt her body press against my side. Her arms wrapped around me, and her head settled onto my chest. It took a little work to get a comfortable position for us both, since we were both over six feet tall, which meant a little bit of our legs would hang off the end of the bed.
I rubbed the top of her head, with my right hand. Seeing as my left arm was pinned. Not in such a way that she'd cut off flow, or anything. I just couldn't really move it. "Mmm…goodnight, Master." I gave her a kiss. "Goodnight. See you when we wake up, tomorrow morning." It didn't take long for the Garchomp to drift off to sleep. I eventually allowed myself to doze off, too.
It would've been nice to be able to fall asleep in an embrace earlier, after we'd showed each other the strongest form of affection there is. But Kaorah being hungry stopped that plan. In the future, I'd make sure we'd had supper, before we did anything in bed. Also, the thing with Team Rocket making their first appearance didn't help either. If Kaorah and I had gone to sleep earlier, we would've had to wake up and help out.
Chapter End
Notes:
So...that was the first time I've ever written a sex scene. I feel like I do need some practice with writing such things, but I did the best I could come up with. There will be more in the future, but I don't think I'm going to have them in every chapter. Occasional, but not too little or too much. As far as making a Harem goes, I think I'll try writing one. I'll probably keep it small.
(Edit- 05/8/24): For those of you just joining us, making a little edit to add here. As you read through, please, feel free to lemme know what you all think. As you read, you'll see how my writing style improves on its own. But you don't necessarily have to comment on every chapter, either. I'm more than happy to write some replies in order to answer questions. And I love to hear what people think as they go further into reading this. At over 300K words, this is by far the longest I've ever worked on one thing.
