"Because you don't care!" Dilla raised her voice. "It's all about what you want and what I can do for you. You're nothing but empty promises and the biggest headache to deal with."
Randy watched Dilla in all her anger. Her dark green eyes got a scary look in them but he knew she would never hurt anyone with anything else but her words. Her high ponytail of chestnut brown hair flew around as she walked around in front of him while speaking in a harsh tone.
"Maybe I don't fucking need you anymore. Have you thought about that? These last three weeks away from you have been fucking heaven and I'm not coming back. We're fucking over!" She said firmly.
He smirked at her. The way she said it could break any man's heart. He was just happy she was his 4 years younger cousin and not his girlfriend, and that he was only watching her having a phone call with her now ex boyfriend AJ who was desperately trying to hold on. Dilla was done with AJ, and rightfully so. Everyone knew how he expected her to follow him around like a puppy and do everything he wanted while she got almost nothing in return. He had wondered why she stayed for as long as she did but now he was finally watching her break free.
"You heard me the first time, asshole!" She snarled. "Go fuck yourself, AJ! You fucking cunt!"
She hung up and settled her eyes on her cousin. He chuckled and clapped his hands together.
"That was a great show," he said.
"Oh, shut up," she said.
She cracked a smile and fell down on the couch next to him.
"About fucking time you left that loser. He wasn't treating you good," he said.
"I know. I've been wanting to leave for a long time now," she said.
"So why did you stay?" He asked.
She sighed and he saw the shift in her eyes. Fear and hurt.
"Are you okay, Dilla?" He asked.
"I don't know," she answered.
"Talk to me," he said.
She took a deep breath and turned to face him fully.
"You forced a three weeks vacation on me," she said.
"You needed it," he said.
"I would never have gone if you had asked first," she said.
"I know. That's why I bought the tickets as a surprise," he said.
"You don't understand. I needed that to know I can always count on you," she said.
"Of course you can count on me. When have I ever made you feel like that wasn't the case?" He asked.
She ran a hand down her face and sighed again.
"AJ got into my head," she said.
"That fucking loser," he said.
"I wanted to leave but I had nowhere to go. He moved me into his house which is fucking expensive. He makes way more than me and still expected me to cover half of everything. I have no savings. He drains me every month. I stayed because I couldn't see a way out and I didn't dare asking anyone for help out of fear of rejection. I think I finally found a way out now," she said.
"Tell me about it," he said.
"How would you feel about getting a roommate?" She asked. "Just for a little while until I've saved enough money for a deposit for an apartment somewhere. It's okay if you say no but I really fucking need you right now, Randy."
He broke out in a smile and pulled her in for a hug.
"Of course you can stay. My home is always open for you," he said.
"Thank fuck," he said. "AJ said you complained about me in the locker room and joked about how I was his problem now."
"That fucking cunt!" He growled. "Yup, he's officially upgraded from loser to cunt. I never said anything like that. I'm gonna set him straight next week."
"After you've helped me move my things," she said.
"Of course," he grinned. "I'm gonna do it in the locker room in front of everyone to let them all know what a fucking cunt he is."
She broke out in a laugh and he smiled at her. His cousin was alright. She had clearly been over AJ for a long time but just needed a way to get away from him.
"How about I call Kevin and ask if he's up for a road trip after the show so we can get you moved tonight?" He asked.
"You shouldn't bother him with that," she said.
"It's no bother. You know he's always had his eyes on you," he said.
He winked at her and saw her blush.
"Wait, you like him too, don't you?" He laughed. "You can't hide it. You're all red in the face."
"Don't tell him," she said.
"I'm not gonna but you will tell him eventually when you're ready," he said.
He took out his phone and found Kevin's number.
"I'm gonna love having a front row seat for this romance. You two are gonna be great together," he said.
"Don't jump ahead of yourself," she said.
"I'm not. I just got a good feeling about this because I know you both. I can't picture a better couple," he said.
"You're married," she pointed out.
"I can't picture a better couple except for me and my wife," he said.
He grinned at her and she grinned back and then pointed at his phone.
"Call him," she said. "I could really use seeing his cute face tonight."
"He's cute, eh?" He chuckled.
"Shut up!" She laughed. "Just call him, Randy. I'll handle everything after that. I don't need your help with this. Kevin is a good man who won't play play dirty like AJ did. I need this to go at our pace."
She leaned over and hugged him again.
"Thank you," she said.
"You're welcome," he said.
"Now call him," she said.
"I'm calling," he chuckled. "Calling mister future lover boy."
