Volume I: The Vulture
Note: This will be the fifteenth chapter of Volume I. This will feature Adrian Toomes first appearance as the Vulture. This story will bring Ms. Lion as Spider-Man's new pet.
It's February 4th at Rikers Island penitentiary, it's lunchtime as a prisoner named Adrian Toomes who is 65 years old is waiting in line with the other prisoners waiting to get their grub. Adrian is next as the staff put in some prison food that doesn't look appealing to his liking.
"Eh, same old crap." Adrian isn't too satisfied with his food.
He leaves the line as he sits down at the table with his tray. He eat his food despite how terrible it is. While sitting down he began to listen to a prisoner here name Herman Schultz who is sitting down with Montana, Fancy Dan, Ox, and others. Herman got locked up months ago after Spider-Man stopped him from stealing the Federal Reserve.
"There I was, me and my boys are there breaking into the federal reserve building and it was a piece of cake. The tech I got from Mason worked like a charm." Herman Schultz boasting about his career as the Shocker.
Adrian Toomes heard the name Mason and he believes that it's his old friend Phineas Mason who is still inventing technology for criminals, he continues to listen as he's very interested in the story.
"Theses gauntlets pack quite a punch that it gave me an edge against Spider-Man." Herman continues to babble on.
"Dang, I gotta get me one of those. Could've helped me against that Bug, He ruined my reputation." Montana is interested in the gauntlets.
"Your reputation is what? Holding schools hostage and almost drowning a teenage girl, I'm so impressed!" Herman says sarcastically at Montana.
"Excuse me, but I couldn't help but overhear about those devices, you said that they were made by Mason. Did you mean Phineas Mason?" Adrian asking Herman.
"Yeah, he calls himself the Tinkerer. You've heard of him?" Herman says to Adrian.
"We have a history, we go way back. I'm very interested in finding him, any ideas where to find him?" Adrian wants information on Tinkerer.
"Well... he's has a workshop hidden somewhere in New York, but it's very secretive and the information isn't for free. I could tell you where to find it, for a price." Herman wants money for the information.
Adrian pulled out the money he has on him as he slowly moves it towards Herman. Herman took the money as the guards didn't spot them.
"Alright, he's got a workshop in the abandoned Roosevelt Station, that's where you'll find him." Herman gave Adrian the location of Tinkerer's workshop.
"Thank you, that's all I needed to know." Adrian got everything he needed.
"Just out of curiosity, why do you want to find Mason?" Herman is curious about Adrian Toomes's intentions.
"He has something that belongs to me, I want it back." Adrian then walks away.
In Queens on a Saturday, at the Watson Residence, Peter and Mary Jane are both inside the living room doing yoga as they watched the video on the TV following the steps, Anna Watson is already at work so they have some privacy to themselves. They both wear their workout clothes as they do their stance.
"Now for the tree pose, lift you left leg and place your left foot onto your thigh, next uses your hands in a prayer, and take three strong breaths there."
Peter and Mary Jane both did the tree pose as they both raise their left leg and stands on one foot, they both did their hands in a prayer.
"Remind me again why I'm doing this?" Peter is standing in a tree pose
"Because you're too busy in your life as Peter and Spider-Man, you're starting to stress out, this is to help you relax and focus your chi." Mary Jane doing the tree pose.
"My 'Chee'?" Peter is confused.
"Yes." Mary Jane says to Peter.
"Well... no problem, I'm a Chi Wiz, get it? A... you know I'm way funnier when I'm wearing the mask. Can I, maybe, go put it on?" Peter jokes around.
"No!" Mary Jane says to Peter.
"Okay." Peter says no more.
"That'll be all for today, namaste"
"Namaste?" Peter is confused by the word.
"It means hello or goodbye, we're done for the day." Mary Jane wipes off some sweat with a towel.
"Well, I felt relax and at peace. And also I feel hungry." Peter is about to go change into his regular clothes.
"Are you serious? You're thinking about food after yoga?" Mary Jane says to Peter.
"Yeah, got to keep my energy up while I'm out there, someone's got to go out looking out for the little guy, crime doesn't take vacations." Peter changed into his suit.
"It never does. Well, you go and do your thing. I'm gonna take a shower." Mary Jane starts walking upstairs.
"I'm off to get the best sandwich in Queens! Namaste!" Peter yelled out to MJ.
Peter became Spider-Man as he left the house, leaving Mary Jane alone in her home.
Meanwhile at Rikers, Adrian Toomes is in his cell waiting patiently for this day as he knows what this day means to him. A prison guard came by as the cell door is opened.
"Toomes, it's time. You're out!"
Adrian Toomes got up and walks out of the cell. He follows the prison guard down the hall as the other prisoners watched the old guy walking towards his freedom.
They arrived at the storage room to pick his personal effects from the day he got locked up. He got his personal green bomber jacket with fur around the collar, his wallet with very little cash inside and sunglasses.
Later he walks out with the warden as he explains to Adrian the terms of his freedom.
"Now remember Toomes, report to your parole officer every week, otherwise your ass will be back here inside, working in the library. Do you understand?"
"Pretty much." Adrian didn't really pay much attention.
"Hope so, otherwise you'll be my problem again. You stay out of trouble!"
The prison gate opens as Adrian Toomes steps out and finally achieved his freedom that he patiently watied for all these years inside.
He sees a cab waiting for him, he got inside as he has plans to get back everything he lost.
"Where to?"
"Roosevelt Station, if you please." Adrian told the cabbie of his destination.
Back in Queens, Spider-Man is waiting inside the deli that makes the best sandwiches in Queens.
"Here you go!"
The owner gave the sandwich to Spider-Man as he hands him five dollars.
"Keep the change." Spider-Man says to the owner.
Spider-Man left the deli with his sandwich as he's starving after the yoga session he did with Mary Jane. He swings up onto a rooftop as he looks at Queens to see some snow is still there. He sits down holding his sandwich and checking on his phone for any emergencies in the city but so far no luck.
"Finally, I can relax and have my sandwich. Time to chow down." Spider-Man pulled up his mask halfway as he's about to eat.
He didn't get the chance to take a bite as he heard a small white puppy barking out as he's crossing the street, Spider-Man looks down at the puppy but he sees a delivery truck coming in.
"Oh no! That dog is gonna get hit!" Spider-Man is panicking.
Spider-Man gets up as he jumps down and swings in fast. The puppy is crossing the street as the truck is closing in, the driver noticed something on the road, he panicked as he quickly hit the brakes hard. The truck is slowly down but not fast enough as the road is still a bit frozen and making it difficult to stop. Spider-Man quickly fired off his webbing as he got the puppy, he pulled the dog out of the way in time.
The truck managed to stop as the driver gets out and went to check if the dog got hit. He and everyone around looked around but couldn't see the puppy anywhere.
"Where did he go?"
The puppy opened his eyes as he sees that he's swinging in the arms of Spider-Man who just saved his life in time.
"Hello there little guy. Glad that you're flying Air Spidey." Spider-Man holding the dog in his arm.
Spider-Man landed back onto the rooftop where he saved his sandwich and still hasn't got the chance to eat yet. He lower the dog onto the ground and keeps his eye on him.
"No wonder you wandered into traffic, you're just a puppy. Got a owner?" Spider-Man asking the dog.
The dog doesn't look like he belongs to anyone, he must be a stray dog all alone.
"No owner, huh? No worries, I'll be sure to drop you off at the pound where you'll get shelter and all the care you need. But first I need my snack." Spider-Man sits down.
Spider-Man opens the sandwich wrapper and see the sandwich still looks good in his eyes. He's about to take a bite of the sandwich until the dog whine and Spidey stopped. The dog looked at Spider-Man with his eyes on the sandwich.
"What's the matter, buddy?" Spider-Man is curious as what the puppy wants.
The dog kept eyeing on the sandwich in Spider-Man's hands, he barked again trying to tell Spider-Man something. Spider-Man moved the sandwich around as the dog never took his eyes off.
"You're hungry?" Spider-Man is asking the dog.
The puppy pleaded as he whines to him, the dog is hungry and wants food.
Spider-Man sighed as he broken a piece of the sandwich. "Okay, I'll give you a piece... here you go. It's okay, it's good."
The puppy slowly sniff the sandwich piece in Spider-Man's hand. He approaches slowly and tasted the sandwich, he took it in his mouth and starter eating it. Spider-Man took a bite from his sandwich and eats it.
"Happy now?" Spider-Man smiled at the dog.
The dog barked as he looked happy, the dog kept on eating the sandwich piece.
Later as Phineas Mason is walking towards Roosevelt Station where his workshop is hidden away from the police and Spider-Man. He uses the secret passage he created to enter his workshop.
Mason turns on the power as all the lights turned on and he sees everything is where he left it. He went to his table to work on his new invention.
He began to work with his tool until he felt something metal against his head, he got scared as he raised his hands up.
"Hello Mason, it's been a long time. Get up and turn around slowly." Adrian points the gun.
Mason got up and turned slowly around as he sees Adrian Toomes here in his workshop.
"Toomes? Is that you?" Mason recognized Adrian Toomes.
"I'm surprised that you still remembered me, considering that you didn't blow the whistle on Norman Osborn and I got locked behind bars for 15 years. 15 YEARS!!!" Adrian Toomes isn't too happy to see Phineas Mason.
"Adrian, I was going to talk but Norman threaten me and made me testify against you for selling technology on the black market." Phineas Mason explained to Adrian his reasons.
"I know what I did, but I did it on behalf of Norman Osborn and he sold me out to save his skin. But that's not why I'm here, you got something that I want, my wings." Adrian Toomes tells Mason what he wants.
"Yeah, yeah, of course. I still have it." Phineas Mason assured Adrian.
"Show it to me." Adrian wants to see it.
Mason slowly picked up the remote and pressed a button. The floor opens as something is coming out of the lift. Adrian sees his personal invention, an exosuit equipped with metal wings, painted green.
"There you are." Adrian Toomes is pleased to see his tech again.
"I didn't have the heart to throw away such a piece of work." Phineas Mason says to Adrian Toomes.
"I'm glad that you didn't. Hmm, I see that you made some modifications to it. I'll be taking it back." Adrian Toomes wants it back.
"Of course, it's always been yours. Take it, though just out of curiosity, what do you plan to do with it?" Phineas Mason wants to know his intentions.
"A chance to get even, and to make some money that the world owes me." Adrian is taking his tech.
"If you're planing on robbing banks, then I'd advise you to do it somewhere else. There's this vigilante in town making trouble for guys like you and me." Mason warns Toomes of Spider-Man.
"You mean Spider-Man, I've heard the stories about a guy in red tights from some guys who got put inside because of him. I'm not afraid of him." Adrian isn't scared of Spider-Man.
"I'm not going to stop you, but don't say that I warned you." Phineas Mason let's him go with his tech.
Adrian Toomes put on his suit as he test out his wings and the thrusters, he slowly lifts up in the air as Mason watch the tech work. The tech came equipped with talons on the feet for grabbing and piercing.
The door leading to the outside opens up as Adrian Toomes flies up and leaves the workshop. He flies around the city with his tech and is amazed that it still works. With it, he can exact his revenge and get back everything he lost.
Spider-Man arrived outside the pet shelter in Queens to drop off the puppy he rescued earlier and feed.
"Okay, here we are, your new home. I'm sure that someone will come to adopt you and give you a nice home. I guess this is it, it's been fun." Spider-Man is about to go to the shelter.
The dog cried out to Spider-Man as he stopped and looked at the dog.
"What is it?" Spider-Man looked at the dog.
The puppy pleaded with Spider-Man as he doesn't want to be without him.
"Come on, I can't take you. I may not make time for you. Besides, I don't think May will be thrill about having a dog in the house." Spider-Man says to the dog.
The dog doesn't want to leave Spider-Man as he whines to him, wanting to stay with him. Spider-Man looked at the dog as he's having a hard time trying to leave him.
Spider-Man sighed. "Please don't make me regret this."
Spider-Man decided to keep the pet with him for a time though he'll have to explain to Aunt May about having a pet inside the house, though he's not ready yet to tell her.
Back home in Forest Hills at the Parker Residence, Spider-Man looked around to see there's very few people here outside the snowy streets.
Spider-Man climbs up into his room and sees that it's clear for him to come inside. He enter the bedroom with the dog he found and took to his home. He placed the dog on the floor as he stretching his legs. He took off his mask as he show his face to the dog.
"Here we are, home sweet home. I just hope that this whole thing doesn't come back to bite me in the ass. I'm gonna change, then I'll go find something for you to eat and drink." Peter went to his closet to change.
Peter changed into his regular clothes as he plans to quietly sneak around the house hoping not to run into Aunt May coming into his room and seeing the new dog he brought home. He placed the puppy inside the closet to hide him.
"Wait here and please don't make any sounds." Peter says to the dog.
He left the room, he arrived downstairs as he hasn't seen his Aunt May yet, he slowly makes it to the kitchen as he opens the fridge to find some food inside, he picks the one that the dog might like, he grabbed some food and went to grab a bowl for the water he plans to give to the dog.
Peter then sneaks back to his bedroom until he see Aunt May coming in.
"Peter?" May surprised Peter.
"Oh... hi Aunt May." Peter is nervous.
"How'd you get home? I'd didn't see you coming in." May is curious.
"Oh, I just jumped high and climbed into my bedroom window." Peter says something.
"Really?" May is confused.
"No, of course not. I was just joking. It's just a joke, I wasn't serious." Peter smiled as he hoped that she buys it.
The doorbell rang as someone is at the door.
"Let me get that." Peter walks to the door.
He opens the door and sees Mary Jane outside in her winter clothes.
"MJ, glad that you came by. You came by to see me about that thing we were supposed to do." Peter says to Mary Jane.
"What thing?" Mary Jane is confused to his meaning.
Peter gave Mary Jane the look as he doesn't want to say what it's about in front of Aunt May. Mary Jane assumes that it's about Spider-Man, she plays along.
"Right, that thing. I remember now. We should go up to your room." Mary Jane plays along and acts.
"Well if you two are going to be here, I might as well make some hot coco and bring it up to the room for you both." May suggested to Peter and Mary Jane.
Peter is getting nervous as he doesn't want May to come to his room and sees the stray puppy he brought home without her permission.
"Ah, that's okay Aunt May, that's not necessary. I don't want to trouble you." Peter says to May.
"Are you sure? It's no trouble at all. You two seemed like you've been outside. I should probably make some right now to warm your bones." May says them both.
"Thank you Aunt May but we don't need any right now. Right MJ?" Peter looks at Mary Jane.
"Ah, yeah. No need, thank you. Shall we go up to your room, Tiger?" Mary Jane says to Peter.
"Yeah, let's go MJ, so we can be alone." Peter went upstairs with Mary Jane.
"What was that all about? Teenagers, go figure." May is left alone downstairs.
Peter and Mary Jane both made it to his bedroom as they're both alone.
"Okay Peter, what is all this about?" Mary Jane is wondering what the trouble is.
"Okay, promise me you'll keep this a secret." Peter says to Mary Jane.
"Tiger, I've kept your secret since I found that you're Spider-Man, you can trust me. Tell what it's about." Mary Jane says to Peter.
"Okay, come here." Peter went to the closet.
Mary Jane went to the closet as Peter opens it, he shows a little puppy covered in white hair.
"Aww, he's so cute." Mary Jane lower down and gave out her hand. "Come here."
The dog hesitated at first as Mary Jane is a stranger to him, but since she's friend with Peter Parker, he slowly comes out of the closet and Mary Jane felt the dog licking her fingers, he lowered himself as Mary Jane pet him on his fur.
"Does he have a name?" Mary Jane is curious about the puppy's name.
"Oh, I haven't come up with a name yet. What do you suggest?" Peter is asking Mary Jane for a name for the dog.
"Hmm? How about Ms. Lion?" Mary Jane came up with a name.
"Ms. Lion? But isn't he a male dog?" Peter is confused by the name.
"Well he's got long white hair, he's kinda girly. But if you don't like it, then..." Mary Jane says to Peter.
"No, no, Ms. Lion is fine. I think that it's a perfect name." Peter agreed to name him Ms. Lion.
"But putting that aside. I'm guessing that May doesn't know about Ms. Lion yet, does she?" Mary Jane is curious about Peter's predicament.
Peter sighed. "No, I was going to drop this little guy off at the shelter, but he doesn't want to part with me. I didn't have the heart to turn him away."
"I get that, but at some point you're going to have to tell May about Ms. Lion. You can't keep him hidden forever." Mary Jane says to Peter.
"I know, I just need sometime to figure out how to tell her. But for now, Ms. Lion stays here." Peter says to Mary Jane.
"Okay, I hope you know what you're doing." Mary Jane says to Peter.
"Yeah, me too." Peter says to Mary Jane.
They then stay inside the room as they love the new dog they have in their lives. Ms. Lion formed a bond with Peter and has already took a liking to Mary Jane.
At night time at the abandoned clock tower in the city, Adrain Toomes flew to the top in his tech. He made it to the balcony as he sees what's left of his old workshop where he used to develop his tech in secret. The place is all covered in cobwebs and has so much dust as it hasn't been used in years.
"Home sweet home. It has been years and it still stands. Though it could some improvements. I need money for everything I was owed. Thanks to my personal invention, that won't be a problem." Adrian Toomes says to himself.
He sees some beer cans on the floor as well as food containers, looks like it had it share of visitors in the past fifteen years.
"Is nothing sacred? Why can't they just stay away from my home? This place needs serious cleaning, but for now I must get some money for the all the stuff necessary to exact my revenge against the very man who wronged me, Norman Osborn!" Adrian Toomes wants revenge.
At night time at the Parker Residence, Peter is in the bathroom washing and cleaning Ms. Lion. The dog is struggling to get out of the tub as Peter is outside making sure that he's all clean for his stay.
"Come on Ms. Lion, I'm risking a lot for you to stay in my home. At least let me clean you up so you can not stink up the place." Peter is cleaning Ms. Lion.
Peter finished washing off the suds from the shampoo as he turns off the water and grabs a towel to wrap around Ms. Lion to dry him off.
"There, that wasn't hard, was it?" Peter is drying off Ms. Lion.
Peter got Ms Lion out of the tub and onto the floor, the dog still felt wet as he shake off his fur to get rid of the water still left and dries himself off.
Peter then decided that it's late that he needed some sleep for tomorrow, he starts to turn off the lights in his bedroom and yawned as he's feeling sleepy.
Peter yawned. "It's getting late, it's nap time. So good night."
Peter got onto his bed and covered himself in a blanket to sleep. He was sleeping until he heard a whine coming from the dog. He lean in and looked down to check up on Ms Lion who is looking up at Peter.
"What is it?" Peter asking Ms Lion.
The dog is looking at Peter with his cute eyes as he doesn't want to sleep alone.
Peter sighed. "Okay, come on."
Peter picked up Ms Lion and put him onto his bed as the dog is resting beside Peter, he's starting to look comfortable by Peter's side.
"So you got any parents?" Peter asking Ms Lion.
The dog looked at Peter but says nothing as he doesn't have anyone left but Peter and Mary Jane.
"Yeah, me neither. I don't have any parents too. Guess that's one thing we got in common, besides our love for sandwiches. Okay, enough small talk, got to get some sleep, Goodnight Ms Lion." Peter says as he's closing his eyes and sleeping.
The dog felt comfortable and being taken care of by Peter who took him off the cold streets and brought him to his home. The dog then rest on the bed and slowly goes to sleep.
It's Sunday Morning as the sun is rising, Peter is waking up as the sunlight is shining on his face. Peter looked around to see that Ms. Lion isn't on the bed.
Peter began to get worried as Ms Lion could be wandering around the house and might end up bumping into Aunt May by accident.
Peter quick got off the bed and put his foot on the floor, he stopped moving as he felt something on his foot, something slimy. He looked down and sees that Ms Lion left something on the floor, Peter gets the idea what it is.
Peter looked to the right and sees Ms Lion is still in his room looking at him.
"Really? On my floor?" Peter says to Ms Lion.
The door knocked as Aunt May is outside the door, Peter is starting to panic as Ms Lion is here without May's permission.
"Peter? Are you awake?" May says outside the door.
"Ah... yeah! I'm awake!" Peter says nervously.
"Okay, breakfast is ready! Come down while it's still warm!" May is still outside.
"I'll be there as soon as I can!" Peter got up as he went to the bathroom to clean up a certain mess Ms Lion left for him.
(Downstairs)
Later after he got cleaned, Peter is all dressed downstairs in the dining room as May has some wheatcakes ready for Peter to eat. Peter sat down as he chows down on his favorite breakfast.
"So?" May is looking at Peter.
"So... what?" Peter is getting nervous.
"So how is your morning?" May getting curious about Peter.
"Ah... it's fine, nothing out of the ordinary." Peter acts cool in front of May.
Peter then finished off his first plate of wheatcakes and quickly drank the orange juice.
"That was quick, I've never seen you ate your wheatcakes so quickly." May says to Peter.
"Yeah, it was good, it was so good." Peter looked at his phone. "Oh, look at the time! I should get going."
"Going? On a Sunday?" May is confused.
"Yeah, got work to do. Need to pay the bill. I should go right now." Peter gets up from the chair.
Peter walks out with his backpack and his camera.
"Peter! Wait!" May stopped Peter.
"Yes Aunt May." Peter is getting nervous.
"Aren't you going to put on your jacket? It's cold outside." May reminded Peter.
Peter looked at the jacket on the sofa, he realized that he was going to leave without putting on on. He grabbed the jacket off the sofa.
"Right! Can't go without my jacket, clumsily me." Peter puts on his jacket.
"Take care." May says to Peter.
"I will! Love you!" Peter went outside and shut the door.
"Love you too!" May says as he already left.
Peter is outside the house with the suit inside the backpack, he became relieved as he managed to hide bring a dog to the house and explaining to Aunt May about it.
"That was a close one, though I can't keep dodging about Ms Lion forever. Eventually I'll have to tell her at some point. For now, time for Spider-Man to be out on patrol." Peter says in his thoughts.
Peter decided to head out to the city in case Spider-Man is needed and if there's trouble.
On a cold day in the city, an armored truck came in driving through the city carrying a shipment of newly minted bills for the banks.
Unknown to the truck, someone is flying around in a green hi tech suit with wings is following them.
He flew in closer as he flies passed the truck, the driver and the passenger watched through the windshield as something green is flying. Adrian turns back around and flies towards them.
"What the hell is that?"
Adrian uses the new features of his tech, Tinkerer modified the wings to fire off sharp razor feathers at the tires of the armored truck, the tires took the hit and went flat at an instant, the trucks tire rims are wrecked as the truck stopped. The driver and the passenger are still inside the cab.
"Call for backup immediately!"
The passenger radios in for police assistance.
(Elsewhere)
Spider-Man is swinging around patrolling the city until his phone intercepted the police frequency.
"All units, Armored Truck is being hijacked by unknown robber armed with technology of unusual design, all units proceed with caution!"
"That sounds like something Spider-Man should handle." Spider-Man is still swinging.
Spider-Man turns around and swings towards the site of the armored truck.
(Armored Truck)
Meanwhile back at the armored truck, the two guards came out with their guns loaded as they started shooting at the unknown robber, but Adrian used the wings to shield himself from their bullets.
"You've should've stayed inside!" Adrian Toomes says to the guards.
Adrian tossed the razor feathers at the guards, seriously injuring them both, though they're still alive.
After he took care of the guards, he flies off the roof of the truck and hovers around the back door. He uses his sharp wings to slice open the door. The door was cut open as he looked at the back of the truck and sees all the newly minted bills in the back.
"Finally, time for me to collect what the world owes me!" Adrian is pleased.
He then started to collect the money and takes as much as he can carry.
Unknown to Toomes, Spider-Man managed to swing onto a rooftop and watched as he sees a new player he never seen before, a man with green wings.
"Wonderful, another supervillain. Haven't had those in a while. Though the shots of him would earn me some money." Spider-Man placed the camera in sight of the robbery.
Spider-Man then jumps off and swings in closer as he catches the new guy in action stealing the money. Toomes was too busy collecting as he didn't noticed that Spider-Man landed outside the truck.
"Ahem! I'm guessing that this isn't your money you're taking? Don't you have someplace to save it, like a piggy bank?" Spider-Man says to Adrian Toomes.
Toomes turns around to see Spider-Man is here.
"So you must be the Infamous Spider-Man I've heard so much about." Adrian Toomes says to Spider-Man.
"That's me, though except for the infamous part, you can call me the amazing, the spectacular, just don't call me late for dinner, get it?" Spider-Man jokes around.
"Enough jokes! I have no quarrel with you, insect! Stay out of my way!" Adrian Toomes demands it.
"Love too, but can't! See, you stole all that money and that makes you a criminal and I'm the hero, so my job is to stop you, if you're new to this life." Spider-Man explains how things work.
Toomes uses the talons to grab the money bags as he extended his wings and shows off to Spider-Man. Spidey is surprised by the tech that this guy is packing.
"You've been warned! Now you die!" Adrian Toomes threatens Spider-Man.
Toomes throws some razor feathers at Spider-Man but he quickly dodged the attacks. Spider-Man counters with a web line to Adrian, but he uses his wings to protect himself.
"Impressive, but I don't have time for this! I got some personal issues to settle with!" Adrian Toomes then flies off.
Spider-Man holds onto the web line as Adrian is flying off the ground and flies higher. Adrian looks down to see that Spider-Man is still attached to his web line.
"You're quite persistent! Aren't you? Let's see how well you can hold on!" Adrian Toomes says to Spider-Man.
Adrian Toomes does some maneuvers to try to shake off Spider-Man but the web slinger isn't letting go, he having a hard time trying to shake Spider-Man off. Adrian flies much higher than possible as he got something else in mind for Spider-Man.
"Still holding on?! Out of curiosity, can Spider-Man fly?! Time to find out!" Toomes says to Spider-Man.
Toomes uses his other wing to slice off the web line as Spider-Man is falling down from the sky, Toomes then makes his escape as Spider-Man continues to fall down.
"If I haven't been afraid of heights, I am now! Time to use my wings!" Spider-Man closes his arms.
Spider-Man opens his arms up as he summoned his web wings, he's starting to glide into the air as he stopped falling.
"Glad that I've invested in these wings, too bad that new guy got away, though I have a feeling that I might run into him again soon." Spider-Man continues to glide in the air.
Sometime later after the fight with this new villain, Peter stopped by the Bugle to deliver the photos he made of Spider-Man fighting the man with wings. He showed it to Jameson for him to look at and see if he wants to buy it.
"Another freak in a costume, that Spider-Man sure inspired new villains to come out wrecking mayhem." Jameson look at the photo
"So does this new guy have name?" Robbie says to Peter.
"He never said his name." Peter does have one for this guy.
"Fine, then we'll give him one, the Vulture. Robbie, run the picture. I'll pay you 150 for the photo." Jameson wants to buy the photo.
"300." Peter raised the price for the photo.
"That's outrageous, done." Jameson accepted the price and writes a check.
Peter took the check from Jameson.
"Thank you, bye bye!" Jameson gets back to work.
Peter leaves the office being paid though his other concerns is to find this Vulture and stop him from whatever he's planning, he heard the Vulture say something about personal issues to settle, he still has a copy of the photo of Spider-Man and Vulture, he'll need help identifying this man, he knows where to go to for help.
Back in Queens at the Parker Residence, May is going around the house collecting the clothes for laundry, she already took her own but she decided to go into Peter's room for clothes he might need cleaning.
She looked around to find the room is a mess, apparently Peter is too busy with his work and school to make time for some cleaning.
May sighed. "Kinda of a slob, aren't you Peter? But then again, all brilliant men are!"
May is collecting the dirty clothes from the floor until he heard something scratching the bathroom door. May is getting worried that there is something inside the bathroom scratching the door.
"Peter! Is that you?" May is calling to the bathroom.
May slowly reaches the doorknob to the bathroom and slowly twist the knob. She then slowly opens the door as she then sees something inside the bathroom, a little white dog barked out at May.
"Ahh!" May got spooked and surprised by a dog inside the house.
At the 13th precinct, Peter came to George Stacy for assistance in finding the Vulture. He already gave Captain Stacy the photo of the Vulture and uses the computer to run facial recognition on the Vulture to get an ID.
"Does this usually take long?" Peter asking George Stacy.
"Not usually, it depends on the cheekbones, the nose and forehead size, just be patient, I'm sure the software will pick someone up." George Stacy says to Peter.
The computer finished scanning and found a match.
"Got it, it says here that his name is Adrian Toomes, 65 year old male, graduated from M.I.T., worked at Oscorp Industries as an aerospace engineer, in 2007 he was accused of corporate espionage and selling experimental prototypes to the wrong people, his boss and coworkers testified against him and he was sentenced to 15 years at Rikers Prison, he was released yesterday and is currently on parole." George Stacy reads Toomes' criminal record.
"And the first thing he does is return to a life of crime. Spider-Man mentioned that Toomes is looking to settle a score, he must want payback against the man who put him away, Norman Osborn." Peter says to George Stacy.
"If that's true then Osborn is in real danger. He needs to be on alert for Toomes. Can you make sure that Spider-Man protects Osborn?" George Stacy asking Peter, knowing he's Spider-Man.
"Don't worry, Spider-Man will be on it." Peter assured George Stacy.
Peter's phone rang as he picks it up from his pocket, it's his Aunt May calling him, he answered the phone call.
"Aunt May?" Peter is talking to May.
"Peter Benjamin Parker! What were you thinking bringing a dog into my house?!" May isn't too happy.
"Aunt May, I was going to tell you about Ms Lion but I've been working up the courage to..." Peter got cut off.
"Say no more! Come home, immediately!" May demanded Peter.
"Aunt May, I..." Peter got hanged up.
Peter isn't feeling too good considering the mood May was in, George could tell something is up with Peter.
"Everything alright?" George Stacy asking Peter.
"No, I think that I'm in trouble." Peter confessed what he's thinking.
Later at the Parker Residence, Peter returned home immediately after the phone call he got from Aunt May.
"Peter Parker, you are so much in trouble." May not looking too happy.
"Aunt May, I..." Peter says to May.
"What were you thinking bringing a dog into my house without my permission?" May says to Peter.
"I found him outside in Queens roaming around the streets, he nearly got ran over. I was going to drop him off the shelter but he didn't want to leave me and I couldn't say no to him." Peter says to May.
May calms down and takes a deep breath.
"Look Peter, I think it's nice that you rescued a dog from poverty, but bring it to my house behind my back is irresponsible." May says to Peter.
"I'm sorry Aunt May, I should've told you about Ms Lion before bringing him into our house, but I was afraid that you wouldn't allow him to stay, I couldn't abandoned him out into the cold." Peter says to May.
"I didn't say that you should and you did the right thing not to turn you back on those in need, even if it's a innocent creature. But we can't keep him, both of us have work to do and who's going to take care of the dog while we're out?" May says to Peter.
"So you're saying that we should cut him loose out there?" Peter says to May.
"No, of course not. Look, tonight he can stay here but tomorrow we're going to find him a new home or drop him off at the shelter, that's final Peter." May says all she had to say.
Peter sighed. "Okay, I understand."
Peter went upstairs to see Ms Lion who is still in his room, but only for the night until tomorrow.
Sometime before the sunsets, Adrian Toomes is back at his tower with all the money he stole, he went to his computer and looked at a news report on the Bugle website about Spider-Man vs the Vulture.
"So they're calling me the Vulture now? It's catchy, I like it. Even Spider-Man couldn't stop me thanks to my creation, and Mason says that Spider-Man is too much for me to handle, hopefully he's squashed like a bug after the fall I gave him." Vulture says to himself.
Toomes types in and searches for Norman Osborn, he looked at recent reports concerning him. He sees that Norman has been squeaking clean these past 15 years.
"So you managed to hide your true self from the whole world, nobody knows the kind of man you really are." Vultures says to himself.
He found an old report from months ago about Dr Otto Octavius who tried to get his revenge on Norman Osborn and his son Harry, but his vengeance got cut short thanks to Spider-Man.
"So someone else hates you too, I see that you haven't changed a bit. Mark my words, you're going to pay for the hell you gave me if it's the last thing I ever do. If Spider-Man somehow survives and gets in my way again, I will dealt with him, permanently." Vulture wants his revenge on Norman Osborn.
As nighttime is here, Peter and Mary Jane are both inside the bedroom with Ms Lion while they still have the last day to spend with the puppy.
"I guess this is our last night, sorry that we can't keep you Ms Lion." Peter says to Ms Lion.
The dog looked a little saddened as he would have to leave the house tomorrow and be away from Peter.
"I'm sorry Peter, I was nice having a dog around this neighborhood while it lasted." Mary Jane is saddened too.
"May has a point, I'm always out there being Spider-Man and I won't always make time for Ms Lion to take care of him. I guess I brought him without thinking things through." Peter says to Mary Jane.
"I'm sorry that being Spider-Man always comes with a price and that it affects those closest to you." Mary Jane says to Peter.
"I finally figure out my feelings for Gwen and I screwed it up, I hardly make time for my best friend Harry, and now it affects my responsibilities for Ms Lion. Trust me MJ, it's hard being there for those I care for." Peter says to Mary Jane.
"I know, it's not fair that you had to give up so much in your life. But it's not always going to be this way, somehow you'll find a way through this hard life and find happiness, you deserve that." Mary Jane cheers him up with words.
Peter smiled at Mary Jane. "Thanks MJ."
"For what?" Mary Jane says to Peter.
"For being there for me, you're my rock." Peter says to Mary Jane.
"I'll always be your rock." Mary Jane smiled at Peter.
"Okay, enough talk. I should get going, there's a guy in a chicken suit that I need to stop. Can you watch Ms Lion for me?" Peter says to Mary Jane as he changes in his closet, put
"Sure, take care Tiger." Mary Jane says to Peter as he became Spider-Man.
"Don't I always?" Spider-Man says to Mary Jane before he left.
Spider-Man left the house as Mary Jane is left alone with Ms Lion for her to take care of, the dog felt comfortable being around Mary Jane.
At Osborn Manor in the city, Norman got the call from George Stacy concerning an old acquaintance of his, Adrian Toomes.
"So Toomes is out and he's coming for me? Thank you for the heads up, Captain." Norman says to George Stacy.
"Take care." George Stacy hangs up the phone.
Norman then dials his head of his personal security team. He knows that Toomes wants his head for using him as a scapegoat for what Norman had done.
"Be on alert! An attack is coming." Norman says over the phone.
The glass ceiling came breaking down as Vulture is here and caught Norman by surprise.
"Norman Osborn, we finally meet again after 15 years." Vulture says while hovering in the air.
"Adrian Toomes, it's been so long. How have you been?" Norman Osborn maintain his calm demeanor while stalling Vulture.
"You should know since you were responsible for incarcerating me, I've spent 15 years of my life paying for something you made me do and you've threatened me if I ever talked. But no matter, I've been a patient man, using all my time thinking of ways to make you pay for what you've done to me. I thought about killing you but maybe it's better to show everyone who the great Norman Osborn is. Here's whats you're going to do, you're going to apologize to the public on my behalf, if you don't then I'll kill you." Vulture threatens Norman's life.
"For someone who's been obsessed in revenge against me, you clearly don't know me very well. First, Norman Osborn never apologizes, and second..." Norman tells the Vulture.
Norman's personal security team came in armed with assault rifles and shotguns, Vulture was caught off guard.
"I don't get intimidated so easily. Get him!" Norman Osborn orders his security team.
They all started shooting at the Vulture as Norman makes a run for it. Vulture uses his wings as a shield but all those bullets are making a dent on them.
"I don't have time for this! I want Norman Osborn and no one is standing in my way!" Vulture kept shielding himself.
Vulture counterattacks by throwing razor feathers at the security team, he injured them and even damaged their weapons. He looks around to see that Norman Osborn is making a run down the hall.
Norman sees the Vulture coming at him as he pull out a remote and opens a secret door, he quickly gets inside and shuts the door, Vulture was stopped in his tracks as a reinforced steel door is sealed tight.
"Very clever, Osborn!" Vulture says outside the panic room.
"I've taken precautions since my encounter with Dr Octavius months ago and had this panic room installed for an event like this." Norman talks through the speaker.
"Ah yes, Dr Otto Octavius, another unfortunate victim of yours, it seems like you've never learned from your mistakes, you're good at making enemies. Fine, stay inside your panic room like the coward you are. It's only a matter of time before I cut through this can of sardines." Vulture raised his razor wing.
Unknown to everyone at the manor, Spider-Man arrived to find the place has been wrecked and some guards are on the floor injured but alive. He went to check up on one of the wounded.
"What happened here?" Spider-Man asking the wounded guard.
"The winged man came and took us out, he's after Norman Osborn who is still here inside the panic room."
"Alright, sit tight, I'll go save Osborn." Spider-Man got up and went to find the Vulture.
Meanwhile the Vulture is working on cutting down the steel door as he doesn't plan to give up his thirst for revenge. He's already halfway to cutting it down as Norman Osborn is almost within reach. Spider-Man arrived in time as he webs up the wings and pulled Vulture away. Vulture then Spider-Man here and is angry that he gotten in his way.
"Ah! Pest! Why can't you leave me in peace?" Vulture is pissed at Spider-Man.
"You'll have plenty of time alone once you're in jail." Spider-Man says to Vulture.
"I've waited 15 years for this moment and you shall not stop me until Osborn pays for what he has done to me!" Vulture won't give up his quest for vengeance.
"How? By taking his life? How many are you willing to hurt to get what you want?" Spider-Man asking the Vulture.
"For now, just one more, you!" Vulture threatens Spider-Man.
The Vulture now focused his attention on Spider-Man as he flies towards the wall crawler, Spidey then jumps and makes a run down the hallway as the Vulture chases after him. Spider-Man is surprisingly fast as the Vulture is having a hard time catching up to him even in the air.
"You can run but you can't hide!" Vulture says while chasing after Spider-Man.
Spider-Man made it to the living room as the Vulture caught up to him, they both in the living room with Spider-Man on the ground while the Vulture hovers in the air.
"Now to be rid of you once and for all!" Vulture hovering in the air.
"Bring it, Big Bird!" Spider-Man does the three point stance.
The Vulture tossed in some razor feathers at Spider-Man but he missed as Spidey is cartwheeling out of the way to dodge Vulture's attacks.
"Is that all you got?" Spider-Man taunts him.
The Vulture then gets angry as he flies in closer but Spider-Man jumped over him and landed on his back, the Vulture then flies out of the manor as he still has Spider-Man on his back, he does his best to try to shake him off.
"Get off me!" Vulture still flying with Spider-Man on his back.
Spider-Man looked at the flight pack of his tech and noticed that it makes a sound and generates heat, it must be the power pack.
"Hey Vulture! What happens if I pull this off?!" Spider-Man got his hands on the power pack.
"No!!! Don't you...!!!" Vulture yelled out panicking.
Spider-Man pulled out the power pack as his tech is out of power and instantly shuts down.
"You idiot!! You've doomed us both!!" Vulture is falling down in the air.
"Ha! You so have not been paying attention." Spider-Man fires off a web line and swings with the Vulture.
(Sometime later)
Spider-Man left the Vulture hanging upside down on a light pole. They then hears sirens coming in close.
"It's back to the bird cage for you, Tweety." Spider-Man says to the Vulture.
Spider-Man swings away from the scene as the squad car came in and the officers found the Vulture hanging upside down in a cocoon.
"Come on Old Timer. Wouldn't want you taking before we can book you, right?" Officer says with humor as he spins the Vulture around.
Spider-Man looked down at the officers taking the Vulture in as he took a picture of them.
The next day as it's morning as school is about to start soon, Peter came down all dressed up with Ms Lion as he knew that this was coming.
He see Aunt May in the kitchen reading the paper from the Bugle with a picture of Vulture being taken into custody by the NYPD, he already got paid for the photo though all that didn't matter as he's about to lose something else entirely, a friend. May put down the paper as she sees Peter with Ms Lion.
"I'm going to give you a ride to school and then I'll take Ms Lion to the shelter. If you want to say goodbye Peter, now is a good time." May says to Peter.
Peter still having a hard time saying goodbye to Ms Lion as he's became good friends with him, but he knew that as Spider-Man he wouldn't be able to make time for him and be there more often. Peter looked at the dog and the dog smiled at him.
"I guess this is it. I wish that we can keep you but unfortunately I can't. But we'll still be friends. I was lucky to have you as a friend while it lasted. But now must say goodbye." Peter says to Ms Lion.
Ms Lion barked as he tries to cheer up Peter but it didn't work.
"Please, don't make this harder than it already is." Peter is still saddened.
"Peter, it's time to go." May reminded Peter.
"I know. This is it Buddy." Peter says to Ms Lion.
Peter and May leaves the house with Ms Lion as Mary Jane and Anna Watson are both leaving too as they see Ms Lion is about to leave the house.
"Peter!" Mary Jane calls out to Peter.
Mary Jane walks to them as she wants to see Ms Lion before they go.
"Are you really going to give him up?" Mary Jane says to Peter with Ms Lion.
"I don't want to give him up but I have no choice. I don't know what else to do?" Peter is still holding Ms Lion.
Peter and May are about to get into the car until Mary Jane has an idea for Ms Lion.
"Wait!" Mary Jane tells Peter and he stopped.
Peter and May are stopping as Mary Jane turns to her Aunt Anna.
"Anna, can't we keep him?" Mary Jane asking Anna.
"What?" Anna is confused.
"Can't we keep Ms Lion? Just because May can't have the dog in her house, doesn't mean that we can't adopt him and raise him as our pet. I kinda grew to like Ms Lion and he certainly likes me. Can we keep him?" Mary Jane asking if they can take in Ms Lion.
"May, what do you think?" Peter asking May.
"Well... I'm okay with it, if its okay with Anna Watson." May says to Peter.
Everyone awaits Anna Watson for her answer. Anna could see that Peter and Mary Jane both bonded with the dog and are doing everything they can to keep him in their lives.
"Honestly I wasn't planning on having any pets in the house." Anna says to them.
They frowned as they assumed they got their answer until Anna speaks again.
"But... if it means so much to you both, and if Mary Jane is willing to take responsibility for him, then Ms Lion is welcomed into our home with open arms." Anna smiled as she accepts Ms Lion as their new pet.
Peter and Mary Jane smiled as they get to keep Ms Lion around, Anna and May are both happy for the teens as they hug Ms Lion as he's still part of both their lives.
"I guess we'll still be seeing each other. I think that in a way, you came to me so that I can give you to her." Peter says to Ms Lion.
Peter hands Ms Lion over to Mary Jane as she took the dog into her family. Peter passed ownership of Ms Lion over to Mary Jane, he's her pet now.
Meanwhile at Rikers Prison, Adrian Toomes returned back after his vengeance against Norman Osborn was crushed thanks to the intervention of Spider-Man.
He returned back to his old cell, he sits down and looked at news paper of himself and Spider-Man fighting.
"Mason, you tried to warn me of Spider-Man and I didn't listen. I've completely underestimated this bug. But no matter." Toomes says to himself alone.
He rips the paper of Spider-Man in half and tears it some more in anger.
"No matter how long I must waited, I will get out again. When I do, I'll shall make that menace pay!" Toomes swears vengeance against Spider-Man.
