Author's Note: Hey all, MegaOmegaPhantom here. Now before I get to the story here. I just want to say I've not abandoned Danny Phantom: The Reality Screwup. I still very much plan on continuing that story. I just thought I would try writing something else to another series I like, so I have something I can switch between so I don't burn myself out of one. I hope to have another chapter of that soon. But anyway, if your new to my stories, you probably don't know what I'm talking about. So enjoy the story below!

Kingdom Hearts: Fractured Hearts and Memories

Prologue: Fractured Memory

The Realm of Light and the Realm Between were peaceful ever since Xehanort's plans for Kingdom Hearts had been stopped. Sure, there were still threats out there. Like Maleficent and Pete. But they hadn't been seen in a while. Still probably searching for whatever it was they were searching for out in the many worlds. One of those worlds, Twilight Town was incredibly peaceful at this time. Not a single Nobody had appeared in the world since the day Xehanort was stopped, and the only Heartless that had appeared were single Shadows in the old tunnels beneath the city. Easy to deal with for people like Roxas and Xion who regularly went through the tunnels to ensure the safety of the world's inhabitants.

Currently, Xion was walking through the tunnels herself. The black-haired, blue-eyed girl's eyes searching every nook and cranny of the tunnels beneath the town. She was perhaps being a bit over-cautious, but she didn't think so. Shadows though easy could be tricky. The ability to blend into any shadow and catch an opponent unaware was a common tactic for the small Heartless.

"Nothing in Section 8," said Xion, out loud to herself, "Maybe the Heartless are seeing the futility of coming to Twilight Town with three keyblade wielders here." Pausing her steps, Xion would look up at the ceiling of the tunnel and think back on some things.

"I never thought I'd get a life like this," said Xion, "Being my own person. Not a copy of someone else. It's nice. I'm glad I get to do this... If only... If only it didn't cost Sora everything..."

Sora. A male keyblade wielder with brunette hair and blue eyes very much like Xion's own. The person her best friend Roxas split from, and who she was meant to be a replica of. Don't ask her for the specifics. That was a long-complicated story. Sora was the reason she could be here now. Hanging out in one the most beautiful worlds in her eyes with her best friends.

"I wish I knew how we could save him," whispered Xion, as tears appeared in the corner of her eyes at the thought of the boy being gone, "But... I know Riku and Kairi will find and save him. I believe in my heart that they will."

Kairi… Another keyblade wielder but also a Princess of Heart. Someone who had a heart of pure light unlike most normal people whose heart was a mix of light and darkness. Xion had her to thank partially for her appearance. If it hadn't been for Sora's strong feelings and friendship with the girl, Xion probably wouldn't look the way she did now.

Then there was Riku. The silver haired, blue eyed cool boy. Or he was cool in her book at least. He was the first person to see her as an actual person and not just a copy. Something she would always be grateful for. He was also a keyblade wielder and was Sora's best friend since childhood. Xion knew he would find Sora.

"Riku," whispered Xion, blushing slightly as she thought of the boy. It wasn't that she liked liked him or anything. Like she said he was just the first person to see her as an actual person. And ask what she wanted now that she thought about it more. But that was it. Nothing more was going on there! She meant that!

Deciding to continue her look around slash patrol, Xion would continue her walk through the old tunnels. In all honesty, she wondered why Twilight Town even had these tunnels. Sure, the train services were a more recent thing, but you could still get to all of Twilight Town above ground. So why build these tunnels. Maybe she should go look that up one day.

She was almost to the exit to the tunnels when something strange happened. She heard a voice that caused her to stop in her tracks once again. "The Worlds are beginning to fail," the voice said, " Light and Darkness are fading and soon Nothing will remain. The World's hearts require sustenance. They require Light. But the Light has been cut off for too long."

The voice seemed to come from not only Xion's own head, but from the world around her. And she suspected if anyone else was around her, they still wouldn't have heard the voice. "Who's there," shouted Xion, as she took a battle stance, "Show yourself!"

"There is nothing to be afraid of, young one," the voice continued, not seeming to notice Xion's worry, "For you hold half the key… Half the key to saving everything. To save the Worlds."

Xion's eyes would quickly move around the tunnel. Looking for any sign of the voice, she didn't really understand what the voice was saying and from past experiences didn't trust the voice. "But your heart is still fractured," continued the voice, "You are not whole. Your... Incomplete. And the one who can complete you is missing from the Worlds."

"Fractured," mumbled Xion, as she repeated a few of the words, "Incomplete… Missing... What... What do you mean! How am I incomplete! And... Who's missi… Sora... Are you saying Sora's the one who is meant to complete me? Do you know where he is? How to get him back?"

"I do not know of the name you seek," the voice replied back for once, "The one to complete you has a special connection to you, but I do not know his name. Though.. I have spoken to the boy before. His heart.. His heart is special though. He's had to reshape his power several times on his journeys. Something that only people like him can do. Something.. Someone like you can do as well, young one. Something you'll need to do.. If you wish to bring him back and become complete yourself."

"Are you saying," Xion said, her eyes widening, "I... I hold the key to bring Sora... This boy back? Why me? I'm just Nobody. Not even a Nobody... A Replica. My power is just copied."

For a moment, the voice didn't respond for a while. At first, Xion thought the voice had left. But eventually, the voice spoke, "A Nobody? Replica? You are far from such a thing, young one. Far from it. But... I see... Your Heart isn't the only thing fractured… Your memories... They are a jumbled mess. I see... Perhaps this will help you remember."

Suddenly Xion's right leg started to fall through the tunnel's floor which suddenly felt like water to her. To say it startled the girl would be an understatement. "What," Xion said,

"Perhaps this will help you remember," said the voice, "Remember the full truth behind who you are and the consequences that occurred due to a certain man's actions."

At first, Xion would struggle with the floor. She would try to get her right leg above the floor again and onto solid ground. Something she still felt was possible due to her left leg still being on what she thought was solid ground. But that soon ended when her left leg also began to sink into the ground.

"What's going on," shouted Xion, as she continued to struggle on the now liquid floor. This in and of itself was a poor choice for the girl to make though, as it only helped her sink faster and further into the floor.

"Do not be afraid, young one," said the voice, "I am merely showing you something you have forgotten while you are within this world. No harm will come to you."

"Within this World," said Xion, "What does Twilight Town have to do with this?"

"Twilight Town," asked the voice, "Is that what you see, young one? Your love for that world must be strong if you're seeing that here. This isn't Twilight Town, young one." Suddenly, what sounded like cracking glass could be heard all around Xion before her eyes saw the world physically shatter before reforming into a clear blue sky above an ocean.

"What," said Xion, as the liquid floor now the waters of the ocean finally brought her under the waters, "What's? What's going on?" As Xion asked these questions, her body which was now fully consumed by the ocean would start to lean backwards as she sank deeper into its depths. Somehow as soon as the ocean had consumed her, she had lost all control of her body. Instead, it was going with the flow of the waters around her.

She was plunging headfirst into the inky blackness of the sea. Soon it was nothing but black all around her, but that wouldn't last long as what looked like a stained glass window appeared before her eyes. The picture that the stained glass showed was what looked to be a young Xion wearing a spaghetti-strapped blue shirt, and short black shorts whilst barefoot while sitting against her back was a young Sora. His face turned towards her with his ever present smile he always had. "Sora," said Xion, a little surprised, "Where.. Where am I? And.. Who is this girl with Sora? She looks like what I would look like if I was younger but.. I didn't.. I wasn't around at this point. So it can't be me right?"

As Xion grew closer to the stained glass, her body would flip around and soon after her feet touched the ground. Finding her stable footing once again. "What's going on," said Xion.

"The beginning of your Awakening, young one," said the voice, "Don't be afraid… There is nothing here that will harm you. Take a step."

Xion would look up at the inky black sky above her before closing her eyes and sighing. "I guess I don't have anything better to do," said Xion, "Just play along for now I guess." So Xion took a step forward, and immediately something happened. Before Xion, an ornate pink door appeared in a flash of light, and the voice said, "Open the door. And remember."

Xion would glance up at the inky black sky again for just a moment before looking back at the door. The door shouldn't lead anywhere, right? So why bother opening it. Not hearing anything more from the voice, Xion walked over to the door and grabbed its handles. "Let's do this then," said Xion, as she began to pull open the surprisingly heavy door. As she did, a bright light would appear within the door's door frame. And soon when the door was fully open, all Xion could see was white light.

That didn't last long though for as soon as the light faded, the scene before Xion changed. The first thing she noticed was the sound of lapping waves against a beach. Then her eyes recognized the place before her. It was the beach on the play island on Destiny Islands. Looking around, she found she was in front of the small shack that would lead to the small island with the Paopu fruit tree.

"What," said Xion, "This... This is Destiny Islands. But... But how! How did I get here?" The voice didn't respond, but something else did. The sounds of a young girl sobbing would hit Xion's ear. "Huh," said Xion, as she turned towards the source of the noise. What she saw shocked her.

Standing in front of the small pool of water that sat by the Secret Place, were two children. A young boy and young girl. The boy she would recognize immediately as Sora, but the girl she had no clue. For one, unlike the boy who was solid, the girl was translucent. She had short black hair and like the stained glass wore a blue spaghetti-strapped shirt and black shorts, but whereas the stained glass had the girl barefoot, this girl had black sandals on.

"Sniff sniff," the girl said, "Riku's right, Sora. You should just forget about me. I'm not real."

"No, I know Riku is right about a lot of things, but he's not right about this," Sora said, as he laid both his hands on the girl's shoulders, "You're not some imaginary family member or friend my heart made up. You're a real person, Sis."

"Sniff sniff," said the girl, as she began to calm her tears, "You... You always know the right thing to say to calm me down, don't you Sora? But why do you believe so adamantly I'm your sister? If that was the case, shouldn't everyone be able to see me? Shouldn't I be able to touch and move things like you and Riku do? Shouldn't I be able to play-fight with Riku and kick his ass?"

Blinking a little in surprise at some of the girl's words, Sora would let out a chuckle and show his trademark goofy smile. "I know you're my sister because my heart is telling me so," Sora said, as he laid a hand on his heart, "I.. I don't know why I'm the only one that can see and interact with you, Sis, but I promise I'll find a way so everyone can. I promise I'll find some way to cure whatever is inflicting you with.. This."

"You just gestured to all of me," said the girl, with a deadpan, "Can't you get serious for once in our lives, Sora?"

"I could, but then I'd have to listen to Riku complain about always getting his butt handed to him by you," said Sora, with a laugh which the girl returned.

"Sora.. Thanks for always being there for me," said the girl.

"It's no problem, sis," said Sora, "You know I'll always be there for you, Sh-Xion."

A gasp would escape Xion's lips as she heard Sora call the little girl her name. How? How could that be? She didn't exist yet. How could Sora even know her name? No.. Why did this little girl have it? Who was she really? She needed to know. She wanted to know. Unfortunately, she would only get an answer to one of those questions.

As the world around her began to fade to black, the voice returned, "It seems you are about to wake. Our time is running short, young one. So I'll leave you with this. That girl... Is you."

Author's Note: So, there's the first chapter of my Kingdom Hearts story. I'll admit I was nervous posting this. Still am honestly. Regardless I hope you enjoyed. If you want me to continue this, please leave a comment below. I've had this idea floating in my head for awhile now. Well.. A variant of it. Anyway till next time.
