After months of bickering and banter, Subaru believed he had built a strange but genuine connection with Ram. Despite her prickly demeanor, he was convinced that underneath it all, she had grown fond of him. One evening, he decided to test the waters, approaching her while she was cleaning. "You know, Ram, if you'd just admit you like me, we could cut through all this sarcasm."
Ram, unimpressed, barely looked up from her task. "You're mistaken," she replied flatly. "There's only one person I care for, and it's certainly not you." Subaru's confidence wavered, but before he could ask who, Roswaal entered the room. Ram's eyes softened immediately as she gazed at him with clear admiration, completely ignoring Subaru's existence. It became painfully obvious who she was truly devoted to.
Heartbroken, Subaru backed away, only to knock over a stack of dishes that Ram had just finished arranging. The loud crash startled everyone, and in his clumsy attempt to catch them, Subaru slipped on a stray cloth and hit his head on the marble floor. He blacked out, his last memory being Ram's look of irritation, as if he was nothing more than a nuisance in her day.
