"Enemy in sight, Captain", Commander Chakotay whispered while he looked around the corner, never taking his eyes off the person just a few meters away.

"I can see them, Commander", his captain answered as quietly as possible. Just crouching below him, she peeked in the same direction. "They are awfully close to our treasure. What we need is a distraction."

"Distraction, right", Chakotay murmured absentmindedly, still watching the lone figure with an involuntary smile on his face.

"Commander!", she nudged him, "not you! Shields up or their secret weapon will destroy you."

"I won't let it come to that", he assured his commanding officer. "Still, don't you think they have a right to the treasure as well? We could share, you know." The glare she sent his way - while expertly executed - somehow missed its mark, though Chakotay dutifully suppressed his chuckle.

"Any suggestions?", she asked.

"Better!" He winked at her. "I've got this." He showed her the flask he had kept hidden behind his back.

The captain smiled mischievously. "Perfect! You will place the distraction, while I slip behind enemy lines and get us the treasure."

"Aye, Captain!"

She watched as he crept forward trying to keep out of sight, which was quite a feat considering his height. After he had filled a cup with the contents of the flask, he strategically placed it where it wouldn't be missed. Now all they had to do was wait. Their enemy was slowly, unconsciously gravitating towards the cup. Finally, they grasped it and brought it to their mouth. Predictably, they closed their eyes. That was her cue. Stealthily she sneaked into enemy territory. Her small form practically merged with the shadows and without anyone the wiser she got hold of her prize. Yes!

The command team reconvened in the hallway and tiptoed to an old broom cupboard. They smiled at each other and opened the door.

"You really think you can best the admiral in the house?", came a stern voice from behind them. They whirled around and came face to face with said admiral, cup in one hand, the other hand behind her back.

"Mom!", gasped the little girl and looked guiltily at her mother.

"And you, traitor!" Admiral Janeway glared at Chakotay. "I haven't seen you all day only to find you mutiny against me when I get home."

"I am sorry", was his chagrined response.

"You better be! Well, I could be dissuaded from throwing both of you in the brig, if you are willing to share Grandma's brownies with me." Even though she still used her admiral's voice, the humorous twinkle in her eyes betrayed her.

"That sounds only fair. What do you think, Captain?"

The nine-year-old furrowed her brow in mock concentration and tapped her index finger to her mouth.

"Sounds good to me!", she laughed.

All three of them sat down on the floor of the tiny room, the plate of brownies between them. Chakotay eyed the coffee cup in Kathryn's hand and turned to his daughter.

"You know what we forgot to bring?"

"Luckily for you I came prepared." Kathryn conjured up two flasks, similar to the one Chakotay had used before, and two cups from a small bag. "Tea and hot chocolate, respectively."

"You are amazing!" Chakotay leaned in for a kiss.

"Why, consorting with the enemy, Commander?", giggled Kathryn.

"Only if they happen to be my beautiful wife", he replied and finally captured her lips.

"Eeew! Can't we eat, already? I worked hard for our treasure, you know!"
