Chapter 40: In Quiet Memory
Summary:
Zeryph takes Mewtwo and Melanie to the base, after another day of training. And together, the three create something for those they've lost. Followed by a discussion with the Creation Trio.
Notes:
So, I think this is likely the last major event that I want to cover, as far as the training days go. I do want to get a move on, so it's likely our next chapter is going to feature a time-skip. Like the previous one, I'll still summarize most of what the team goes through in their training. It's not going to go straight to the tournament, either. Since there is still that dungeon to do, and, the Mt. Silver Raid.
In fact, I'm looking forward to the Raid, myself. And I think I might've figured out what I'm going to do for it, too. I won't spoil anything, of course.
[Zeryph]
[Attention.]
[You are nearing an important decision. Once it has been made, you will be locked out of the other two paths. This will affect the future content, as well as what happens in Mystery Dungeon and other side games. We'll go over the routes now.]
[(Time Walker)- Take the side of Dialga, learn all of the ins and outs of time travel, and how it affects the past, present, and future. Gain the ability to see all possible futures. Time becomes meaningless, as you walk the path of control. Eventually gaining the power to stop time itself.]
[(Spacial Warlock)- Take the side of Palkia. Learn about all there is to know of Space, Dimensions, and the power to shift between planes of existence. Learn to control the fabric of reality, to weave it like a fine yarn. Or, rend your enemies and cast them out of the bounds of Space.]
[(Void Reaper)- Take the side of Giratina. The Distortion World is your home, just as it is his own. You are the anti-matter. The counter to all life in existence. You call, and the void answers to your will. Become the shadow that haunts your enemies' nightmares as you pursue them to the ends of the Earth. Nothing more satisfies you than their complete, and utter, annihilation.]
[Each of these three classes has their own benefits. And, the other two will even remain open should you choose to let one of your most trusted Pokemon take them. Choose wisely, as this can only be done once. You are completely locked in afterwards. Whichever you choose, you will need to speak to the respective Legend ary to confirm it. ]
I read over the choices once again. I hadn't been expecting a class system like this. Obviously, from the way it sounds, these are all meant to be extremely powerful. Especially later on, especially considering how Void Reaper looks. In fact, Void Reaper's passive is interesting, the most out of the three. It seems to have something set up, to pull me into the Distortion World to regenerate in emergencies.
Still, I'm going to wait for later to make my choice. Until after the League, at the earliest. I worry about if it might damage my standing with two of them. It's not likely, since…the option to let the others take the paths is there. I'm even willing to bet that Samuel would be a Time Walker if he'd met Dialga in his younger years.
[Morning]
I felt movement as I began to wake up. As I opened my eyes, Melanie was sitting up to stretch. She yawned quietly, before turning to smile at me.
"Did you sleep well?" I asked quietly.
"I did, much better than I would've thought. Thanks to a little chat I had with Lexie, last night." I sat up and stretched. Melanie leaned over against me, and placed a soft kiss on my left cheek.
"Nothing bad, I hope. Considering that argument last night." Melanie smiled and shook her head.
"No, nothing bad. We just kinda sat on the roof, for a little bit. Came back down because it was about to rain." Didn't sound like it was raining now, so it must've moved on during the night. I started to change into something for exercise, while Melanie talked with Suicune. After I got changed, we stepped out into the hallway, where Lexie met us. Solais did, as well, and she seemed worried about something.
"Hey Solais, is everything OK?" Melanie had also taken notice, of course.
"I'm…not sure. I've got a feeling about the mountain that wasn't there before. Nothing major, of course. It just feels…off, is all. Like something is out of place." Solais nuzzled the hand I held out to her. "There was the first one, which you set off yesterday with the avalanche. It gave way to what I'm feeling now, off and on. Like…something is there that isn't supposed to be, ya know?" I listened to what she was saying while we walked.
For the briefest of moments, I felt it as well. Thinking about the mountain and where the avalanche was. Kaorah pointed it out during supper, last night. Couldn't see much in the low light of the evening, but I think I know what Solais is getting at.
"That does sound strange." Doesn't sound like a secret Rocket base. If it was, they likely would've mass-evacuated after Melanie blew up the mountain side…accidentally. And would be on high alert, too. As we got outside, I noticed something else. Normally, the area had the faint sounds from smaller Pokemon communicating, or the rustle of leaves from the mountain breeze. However, this morning was…unusually quiet.
The last time there was this sort of silence, Cerise got into a scuffle with…something. No, I don't think it was the Fusion that we helped out, either. Because he actually made his presence known through those howls of his. This though, is definitely something different. Lexie and Melanie also spoke up, saying that they felt it now, too.
I decided that tonight, we'd black out the center's lights, and look toward the mountain. See if we could spot anything out of place. After all, if an Absol says something feels off, it's best to listen. And Solais has helped us be ready for things before, too.
"Ketchum!" As I turned around, the side of my face was met with a hard slap. The hardest I've ever received in fact. Despite the fact I didn't move from it, there was still a small, ten-point dip in my HP. Liz immediately recoiled in pain, as well.
"You are in so much trouble. And, what the hell are you made of?" Melanie offered to check her hand, but she declined. Just as I guessed last night, Liz wasn't happy when she got outside. Stating only that we'd be having words later on. But, even she caught on to the unusual silence. She would definitely notice, as she has lived in the area for quite some time now.
"I'm well aware. I think you should know I just went along with the idea. Giratina's the one who suggested it." I said.
"It's true. And though I…failed…Mewtwo was actually a success." Melanie confirmed what I said. We both felt the rift opening behind us, and the shadowed shape of Giratina's human form rose from within.
"They both speak the truth. If there's anyone to be mad at, it's me. Although, I don't really care if you are." Giratina pretty much took the blame for us.
"Fine, still, doesn't excuse you from going along with it. What were you thinking?" Liz was still unhappy. Her hand had reddened from the slap she delivered, but it'll fade later on. I don't feel like I'm gonna have a mark to match it.
"If it eases any worry, I don't plan to have them use that power in any battles…unless the situation is extremely dire. If things go well, I might even have the power, myself." Giratina nodded, silently confirming his own plans.
"And by dire situation, he means any Region-level threat, or higher." Not that we've seen such a thing, not so far anyway…except for that mess with Libra. Still, the first major disaster, not counting Fuchsia, is when Cinnabar goes boom. But that wasn't a Pokemon or evil team's doing. As far as I know, anyway, it was a natural event.
The first major threat I can think of, is in Hoenn with Teams Aqua and Magma. I plan to visit the Sky Pillar as soon as we get there, and see if I can get Rayquaza to be on standby for it. Course, there's also the question of which issue we'll see. If it's gonna be the teams wishing for the other two, or if they're actually gonna be awakened. It's, most likely, going to be both.
There was also that mess that Ash mentioned during that brief island adventure his group had. With the…giant Tentacruel, apparently. I have no idea how that works, think it was some sort of chemical Team Rocket had, or something. Still, kinda wish I hadn't missed that, but then again, if I was there for it…it wouldn't have gone the way it's meant to.
"Fine…I hope you know what you're doing. Considering how hard your team trains already…" Liz sighed and shook her head. "Just…be careful. That sort of power is something that nobody should mess with."
"Oh, we're well aware. We've seen what it can do when it's not controlled." I decided I'd tell her about New Island, later. "Now, why don't we shift our focus to the normal routine? We can worry about talking over stuff like this, later." Giratina returned to his home as the rest of us began our stretches. I'm sure that his brothers already know that he's gotten involved, as they definitely would've sensed what happened yesterday. And, by that logic, Arceus also knows.
It's reasonable to be worried about what they're gonna think. I just hope that the others won't get mad at me for who I side with. I would guess not, but then again…it's likely Arceus would rather not let a human use His powers. Even if the human proves they're worthy of that level of trust. At most, He'll likely lend an aspect to our team, rather than letting me use His power. Not that I'd want to, anyway, since I feel like I can't even trust myself with it. Giratina's, on the other hand, has plenty of ways to keep it in check. Such as, for example, a time limit when outside the Distortion World.
Following the usual two hours, we all returned to our rooms, each of us going for a shower. Then, Lexie and I headed for the kitchen to begin preparing breakfast, while Melanie woke up the others. Well, those who weren't already up, anyway. Solais decided she was going to stay by my side, considering the uneasy feeling she has about the mountain. I'm still wondering what that avalanche had unearthed.
I decided that I'd make a change of plans for today, instead of the training. For myself, Mewtwo, and Melanie. As Lexie and I started to serve breakfast, I took the time to fill them in.
"Change of plans, you two." I said quietly, taking their hands and pulling them aside. "I won't be taking you two for training today. Instead, the three of us are heading back to base."
"What? Why? That's…rather unusual, Zee. Not counting when you take a break for a date, like with Lexie." Melanie brought up a good point, and Mewtwo nodded in agreement.
"This is something special. I felt like we owe it to those taken from us, to…make something so that we never forget." I whispered. Not wanting to give away what I was doing, to the others. "And it all revolves around this little flower, right here." I brushed the petals of the lunar tear that decorated Melanie's hair, then caressed her cheek in the same motion. She smiled softly, leaning her head against my hand.
"I understand. So…it's for all of them, then?" Mewtwo asked, quietly. I nodded. "Alright…sure. We should see if we can get something special made for all of them. Statues, maybe." Melanie nodded in agreement.
"Yes, that would be great. Let's worry about breakfast first, then about our memorial project." Melanie pulled us back over to the table, and she was the first of us to get seated. I've already figured out a good song to set the mood, too. When we get around to it, anyway. Another song from Nier, and one of few that makes me get teary eyed when I hear it. No matter how many times I listen.
As we were busy with breakfast, I let Liz know about my change of plans, asking her to keep an eye on the team while I was away with Mewtwo and Melanie. Following breakfast, and cleaning up, I grabbed the pair by the hand, with them both on either side. Then, took them through a portal to a cave at the base of our home mountain.
[BGM Suggestion]
[Keichii Okabe- Kainé Salvation]
Melanie let out a soft gasp as her ears were met with the first notes of piano. Tears welling up in her eyes as she sniffed softly. Mewtwo's reaction was similar, and I even felt my own eyes welling up. Perhaps one of the most beautiful pieces of video game music I have ever heard.
"What is this?" Melanie asked softly. "It's…beautiful."
"'Kainé Salvation', a song from the Nier series." Mewtwo answered for me. "I'd caught the name in Zeryph's memories, but never heard it until now." He smiled, softly. "Hey, Melanie…think you could learn to sing it, one day? I bet your voice would be great for it." Melanie blushed softly and smiled at him.
"I think she would, too. Maybe if we do a contest performance, I can learn to play the song, while you learn the lyrics." I said softly. You could give it a go now, if you wanted."
"I'll give it a try, one day. I'd rather hear them for myself, first." Melanie said, softly. "If it goes well, we're gonna steal the show…for whichever one we take part in." She fell into silence when the lyrics actually began, gasping softly as her eyes began to tear up even more. Might not know what the lyrics mean, but it doesn't mean we can't enjoy the song.
I had also been thinking up how to shape the statues we wanted. Even drawing my ideas on some paper and showing them, until we settled on what we all liked. I began to shape the first statues, starting with my parents. The drain on my power was much less than when I'd shaped the base portal itself. As the statues formed, I brought two lunar tears into my hands, and began to plant them at the base of the statues, making sure to use a little magic so they would never wilt, no matter what.
The statue of Amber was the next one for me to shape, once I placed a lunar tear into Mewtwo's hands. Her statue would depict the youngest of the group, but that's fine. I wonder, if they'd been able to grow up together. Would she and Mewtwo have a bond like what I have with Kaorah? There's no way to know, but maybe an alternate timeline would hold the answer.
As Mewtwo planted the lunar tear at the base of Amber's statue, I began to work on Tommy's for Melanie, as the song's first verse began to repeat. The idea of Melanie singing music from Nier for a contest is definitely interesting. Maybe we can work on the credits music, too. Anyway, getting off topic.
As I finished shaping Tommy's statue, Melanie slowly walked up, placing a hand on the statue's chest with a sad sigh. Then she took a knee and began to plant the flower I'd given her. My enchantments meant the flowers would be able to spread, given enough time. And soon, this place would look like the hidden cave in 'Nier Automata'. Which is what I was hoping for.
As she stood from planting the lunar tear, Melanie turned and wrapped me in a tight hug. And I felt Mewtwo's arms come around us both. We slipped into silence, apart from the music playing on repeat. A sort of silent prayer for those we've lost. I know for a fact Arceus can hear prayers when they're made, so I hope he hears ours. Even if I don't outright say what we're thinking.
As the music faded out, we opened our eyes, and I gently gave them both a kiss on the forehead, then we began to leave the cave in silence, waiting until we were outside to pull open a portal in order to leave. Though as we did, I sensed a familiar presence, smiling to myself as the portal closed behind us.
[Base dimension, moments after]
The golden light faded, giving way to the form of Arceus. His own head bowed in silence, with a soft smile on His face. Just as Zeryph thought, He had heard the prayers from the three, and had chosen to visit Himself. A shame that He'd missed the three by only moments, but it didn't mean He couldn't do something special for them. Gently, He reached out, tapping each of the statues individually. Reshaping the statues to make them look better. Changing their material to that of ivory, accented by golden plating in the right spots.
He already knew of what the four thought of their memorial, of course. They were happy, all of them. Smiling down at the three who chose to remember them forever. Arceus connected the statues, then behind them, added His own touch. A golden ring, much like the one that encircled His own body. A small piece of His own divine power, blessing the statues so that they would always remain in pristine condition.
Without a word, He then disappeared the same way He had arrived. In a flash of golden light, returning to the Hall of Origin.
[Zeryph]
After we got back from setting up our memorial, the three of us went to the cave where our training was done. Our team was already well into the early half of the day, but they smiled and waved to us when they could. We found a spot to sit down, and Liz went back inside. She didn't bother us, figuring we'd talk later about whatever it was we were doing.
The others didn't bother us, picking up on the fact that we just wanted to sit together for now. I asked the pair if they wanted to join in on training after lunch, but they declined. Since they weren't going to be able to focus, given what we just finished with.
When Lexie stopped the others for lunch, she even made us some. Fixing us lighter snacks than what she made for the rest. When she asked us what we were doing, I told her that I'd show her later on. I have a feeling I knew what Arceus was doing, too. The fact that our memorial got His personal blessing is…really nice. I'm glad to know that He paid it a visit.
As the team settled back into training, after lunch, I noticed Mewtwo beginning to slowly shift into meditation. As my thoughts began to wander, I remembered something. Something that Dialga said a little while ago. And then…how we got Kalina. Coming to a realization, I quickly channeled my mana into my hand and sent out a pulse of energy.
As he appeared, I also called Kalina over, as she'd seen exactly what it was to send her here.
"Zeryph? What is it?" Dialga didn't seem to be expecting a call from us, but he still turned up right away.
"Remember how you said you didn't believe Hoopa was active?" I asked, and he nodded. "Well, she-" I pointed at Kalina, "is proof that might not be the case. Kalina, go ahead." As Kalina began to explain the story as to how she got brought to the team, Dialga's expression quickly shifted. One which showed that he was genuinely worried now.
"This is not good, Hoopa being awake. Still, we can only hope that Hoopa's power is still bound, enough that Kalina's a rare exception. Given how Hoopa's abilities work, the best one to keep an eye on things is Palkia." A magenta flash filled the cavern, Dialga moving away enough to give his brother space to appear.
Dialga and Kalina started to catch him up on what we were talking about. Palkia began to get worried, himself, as he talked over things with the pair. It was decided that he'd personally keep an eye out for Hoopa's trickery. This is something incredibly important, due to Hoopa's ability to not only summon Legendaries, but also set them into a blind rage. When unbound, anyway, as Hoopa's powers being sealed prevents all that.
"Dialga, Palkia, there's one more thing." I pulsed my power again, in order to draw Giratina's attention. I waited for him to emerge from the Distortion World, then I began to fill the trio in on the information from this morning. They all listened, each of them showing interest in what I had to say. From the way Dialga and Palkia glanced at their brother, I think it's obvious to them who I intend to pick.
There was a flash of light as Celebi appeared. She and Dialga shared a quick mental conversation, before she vanished again. Dialga didn't even have to say what she was doing, as I already know.
"As with any major choice, Zeryph. Choose wisely. Especially for something like this." Dialga said, to me. "I didn't even know such a thing was going to come up. It wasn't anywhere on our present course, or the alternates."
"Me neither." Palkia spoke up. "A human, wielding such power as our own? Never would've thought it would go as far as this. Having us on his team, sure, not…our actual powers. To a limited degree, anyways." Giratina nodded in agreement.
"Even if he takes my own, we must ensure he's trained in order to use it properly, whichever he picks. And set a limitation…so he doesn't use it outside of emergencies. Or, those dungeons of his, where using our power doesn't pose a risk." Giratina's rumbling voice sounded from behind his golden mask. "As you likely know, I've already started. And if Zeryph doesn't take it, then I feel Mewtwo would make for a good second-best."
"Well, either way, I don't plan to choose until after the tournament. Cause I don't wanna have to do the tournament with something on to hide whatever changes…if I do hide it." I spoke up.
"Fair enough. Still, we're going to join in on your training until then. We'd like to help you prepare for what power we can give. And if it helps you in the tournament, all the better." Palkia said.
"Hey Dialga, do you think Professor Oak would've become the Time Walker, if he were offered that in the past?" I asked.
"Hmm. Maybe, but it's hard to say for sure. It's more likely that he would respectfully decline." Dialga's brothers nodded in agreement.
"That's fair. Anyway, why don't you three stay a while. Maybe Palkia can come up with a human form during that time." Dialga and Giratina turned toward their brother, realizing I was right. Palkia was in fact, the only one to not have a human form yet.
"I'll, uh…think of something." Palkia tilted his head as he began to think it over. The brothers moved off to the side to talk without bothering us, myself, Mewtwo and Melanie.
"I like how we got used to knowing them…so quickly." Melanie leaned her head on my shoulder, and I felt her left arm wrap around me. "Only you, Zee, could so easily befriend the most powerful Pokemon on the planet."
"Heh, yeah, and pretty soon…everyone on our team will be somewhere on that list." I gave her a soft kiss on the cheek. "You will be the world's best healer, for sure. Might even have your own students one day. Restoration magic would be incredible."
"Yes well, even healing magic could be used for evil if it's twisted right." And Melanie does have a point. Although, it's harder to do harm with Restoration than with other schools.
"Yeah, but I know that you're not the type to do that." I smiled. "All the work you did in Fuchsia is proof of that. I know we couldn't save everyone, but we did our best, and that's what matters. Because it meant there were far fewer casualties."
"I guess. Well, still, the next major disaster is…Cinnabar, right? When do you think it's going to go boom?" Melanie asked.
"Sometime in the next few months. After the tournament at the earliest." I said. "At least, everyone has a chance to make it off the island. Cause, with Solais and the ability to translate her warnings, everyone will be evacuated in time."
Melanie closed her eyes, letting out a soft hum as I started to rub her back. She leaned further against me, and squeezed lightly with her arm. A soft smile forming on her face as she started to relax.
"I'd like another massage, one night. With more to it, this time." She mumbled, but I was close enough to hear. I smiled, and made a mental note to do that later. The rest of the day passed without much to note, other than Palkia figuring out his own human form. Unlike Dialga's dapper suit, or Giratina's demonic appearance, Palkia had chosen to go with a sort of futuristic knight look.
His eyes were covered under a visor, unlike his brothers, but I already knew what their colors were, anyway. His shoulders remained the same. Apart from being scaled down in size to match his new form. And, unlike his brothers, he'd also chosen to keep his tail visible. So I suppose it makes more sense to say it's a humanoid form, based on that alone. His armored suit maintained the same color as his true form.
There was also when Liz came up to see us. Her stunned reaction upon seeing three of the four strongest Pokemon in the entire world, gathered into one place, was priceless. All we're missing in the gathering is Arceus. But He never visits in person, Himself. Most likely preference, as I would think the moment He leaves the Hall of Origin, everyone will sense it.
Which could cause trouble, or at least, make several legends curious about why He would be in the mortal world. Course, Liz isn't the only one to have a surprised reaction. Apparently, the Creation Trio was enough of a distraction that Suicune took a bad hit. Causing her to have to sit out for the rest of the day.
Melanie revealed that she'd be OK, but would likely just have a small headache later. Still, it gave Suicune some time to talk with the brothers. Even with her stating that she'd wished her own brothers were here for this. I then reminded her that her brothers could visit us at any time if she wanted. And I even made sure to remember to set up a meeting in the future. It seems the Legendary Beasts idolize the Creation Trio. It's likely that's the case in a lot of regions.
The least likely case to be the weather trio from Hoenn, given how dangerous Groudon and Kyogre are. Then again, Rayquaza usually keeps them in check if they get woke up. Speaking of Rayquaza, I need to see if I can make a trip to Sky Pillar, even if it's way ahead of schedule. I just feel like having him as an ally early on, will definitely help for things going forward.
Anyway, as our training for the day came to an end, Lexie offered to fix the brothers something to eat. Much to our pleasant surprise, they actually accepted this time. Normally, they would've declined, but I have a feeling it's something to do with all of them being here at the same time. As Lexie and I got started on supper, she had the others pitch in to help where they could.
Using her Psychic-type to guide everyone that she could, was smart. As it let her maintain what was her own station, but also guide everyone else on exactly what they needed to do. I was the only one she didn't need to, for reasons that were previously stated. I even considered asking aunt Delia and her Mr. Mime if they'd like to help us.
I ultimately decided…why not? Just makes another pair of folks to get introduced to what Lexie's amazing cooking is like. Mewtwo and I went together so I could explain what was going on. This would mark Delia's first time meeting…everyone who she hadn't met before, at least.
Her surprised reaction when we teleported her to the mountain said everything.
"How do you keep track of everyone, so easily?" Delia asked. Lexie took care of showing her and Mimey, I didn't make that up, where to work. With the pair settling into their tasks easily.
"It's honestly not as hard as most people would think." I began to explain. "It's mostly because we all live and travel together, rather than it just being me, with everyone else in a ball or at Samuel's lab."
"That…makes sense. Now, when were you going to tell me you had a Legendary?" I already did, to be clear, with Mewtwo. But she's talking to Suicune, here.
"She's not part of the team yet, herself. But she is training with us for the tournament coming up. She wanted to help us get stronger." I said. "As for the other two with Dialga, they're two parts of that trio who you haven't met." I smiled. "In all honesty, those three are the Creation Trio, from Sinnoh."
"The…the what?" Aunt Delia did a double take, seemingly not believing what I'd just said. Yeah, quite the bomb to drop, but she would've found out eventually, anyway. "But…they don't look like Pokemon."
"Boys, if you would, please? Giratina, keep your power restrained. I don't want everyone else here being hit with the existential dread that myself, Melanie and Mewtwo got hit with." Giratina responded with a low, grumbling chuckle. Delia and Liz gave me an alarmed look.
"Existential dread?!" Liz questioned loudly. She didn't get to say anything else as the brothers revealed their true forms, with Giratina having to use his Altered Forme. They only maintained these forms for a moment. The calming feeling of Dialga and Palkia's auras outweighing what Giratina put off. They then changed back into the forms they'd been in all afternoon and for most of the evening.
"How? How do you get so lucky?" Liz was the first to break her awed silence.
"Dunno, maybe it's just unique to me." I said, choosing to not reveal how I got Mewtwo. Even though he disbanded Team Rocket, I'd rather not say that I'd gotten him as part of doing a favor for a crime boss. I also figured it's wise to not reveal Libra, either.
As we were all finishing up on supper, our phones rang. Mine and Delia's did, I mean. I decided I would only answer mine, revealing that Ash was calling. Didn't want to hit the kiddo with a feedback loop and deafen all of us and our teams. Pikachu waved to us from his shoulder.
"Didn't expect you to both answer from the same phone." Ash said. "What's the occasion?"
"Your cousin invited me and Mimey to help with a cookout." Delia answered. "We had…quite a few mouths to feed."
"Wish we could've been along for that." Sorry kiddo, but that would bring about major spoilers, and could really mess with things. I mean, to be fair, things have already been thrown way off, anyway. "Brock would've been a big help for it." Well, he's right about that, at least.
"Believe me, any extra hands would've helped." Lexie leaned over my shoulder, smiling as she did. Her accented English surprising both my aunt and my cousin.
"She knows English?" Delia was first to ask.
"Sure do. So far, it's myself, Mewtwo, and Melanie, that know it. Kalina's going to pick up on it soon as she learns how to use her Psychic-mode properly." That was when Kalina revealed herself.
"Huh? What species is she?" Ash asked us.
"She's a Silvally. One of the very few of her kind. I can't really go into depth on how she was made, as I don't know the story for sure, myself." It's still a coin toss between the Aether Foundation and Macro Cosmos for who made her. What is interesting is how her memory drive works. It seems to be based heavily on the function of the Legend Plate, but there's more than that. It lets her shift between all types at will, even subconsciously in battle based on her opponent. Or what attack is coming at her.
Lexie came up with the idea to call it Adaptive Memory, which I agreed with. As did Kalina and the others. So, the name has stuck. Unlike a normal Silvally, her Adaptive Memory drive wasn't able to be removed. So I wonder if it really is a Mk.2 system that she has. Especially since her type changes are instantaneous.
"Well kiddo, we're going to let you go now. As, we've gotta focus on supper." I said. After he and Delia said their goodbyes for now, we cut the call. Then, started to focus on our supper. Delia, Mimey, and the brothers, all found the food to be delicious. Lexie even offered to show Delia and Mimey some stuff to help with their own, at home.
Also, on the note of Mimey, I believe he'd appeared earlier than he was supposed to. Which is further proof of the timeline being altered. Originally, he wasn't caught until after Ash got the badge in Viridian City. Still, he had fit right into where he should be, even with his early appearance.
Following super, and the lengthy cleanup, the brothers disappeared, heading to the Hall of Origin to report to Arceus. Giratina even came up with the idea to offer Him something, so we made Him a small snack. I guess I'll find out later what He thinks of it. If the brothers liked it that much, then I won't be surprised if He does, too.
Mewtwo took Delia and Mimey home, after she and I got to sit down and talk for a bit. I told her I'd see her in a couple months. As we turned in for the night, I felt Solais settle into the bed with me. Laying so that she was mostly on top of me and quickly getting comfortable.
I began to rub her back with one hand, running my fingers through her fur and earning a soft purr in response.
"You still owe me a night, again. We haven't gone a round in a little while." She whispered.
"I know. I promise you, we will soon." I whispered back. "For now, let's get some sleep. You've had a long day, and you seem rather tired." Solais smiled and nodded, then laid her head down, careful to make sure it wasn't on the side with her bladed horn. "I actually forgot about your heat, too."
"I know…but that's fine. There's always the next time it comes up. Anyway, good night." She licked my left cheek softly, her own form of a kiss, then laid her head back down. I gave her a kiss on the forehead as she nodded off.
"Your relationships with your Pokemon are so…adorable." Suicune spoke up, quietly, not wanting to wake her back up.
"Yeah, I know. The ones I do have, anyway. But the others always have a chance to form." I said quietly, in return. A soft smile had formed on Solais's face.
"Maybe you and I might develop one, too. Melanie said that anyone you give a massage to is pretty much going to earn such a thing." Suicune giggled softly, then smiled. "Still, sleep well. I'll see you two in the morning."
"You too. G'night." As we faded into a comfortable silence, I began to let myself nod off. A brief feeling washed over me that made me smile, it seems Arceus had received the little gift we sent for Him, and has enjoyed it. That aside, I settled into a comfortable sleep, with my ears being met by Solais's quiet purring.
