Boku no Hero Academia: Custodian Izuku

Disclaimer: This is a crossover fanfiction story of 'Boku no Hero Academia' and 'Warhammer 40k' (yes, really). I own nothing of the two series other than the fanfiction stories that I make.

I am making this story for the sake of fun, fluff and awesome after writing a one-shot story of the same story concept. If I am able to somehow impress fans of Warhammer 40k or even move someone to tears, even better.

Also, if anyone wants to know how in the world I got this idea in the first place, please refer to the artist, Ryuusei (Mark II), who has made some awesome pictures of gender-bent primarchs. The link is: https/danbooru.donmai.us/pools/17320

Please note that while I am familiar with the Warhammer 40k setting, my actual knowledge of it is casual at best. Also, if the genderbent primarchs seem at least a bit OOC, please kindly consider the fact that their bodies (especially the traitor primarchs) have changed drastically after entering Izuku's world.

In case anyone asks how much crack I was taking in to come up with the idea, I am just going to say enough to make even a loyalist Adaptus Astartes trippy.

Chapter 25: Sports Festival Madness (Part 2)

"Now, before everyone assumes that the main goal of this team battle event is to take out the other team in direct combat, I would like to first make it clear that it is not," explained Nemuri.

Russ, like many other people from both teams, was genuinely surprised as she tilted her head and raised an eyebrow while asking, "Wait, it isn't?"

Nemuri almost rolled her eyes and said, "While members of the the two teams can indeed engage in combat, the main goal is to actually score more points than the other team by the end of this event's fifteen-minute time limit." She then pointed to the screen as it showed what seemed to be two identical fortresses and explained, "Each team will be given a fortress and each fortress will have a total of twelve 'key stones' which must be protected. The team with more intact key stones will have a higher score. Of course, if all your key stones get destroyed, your team will lose the match immediately."

"In other words, we must make a choice between defending our team's key stones and taking out the other team's key stones," said Guilliman.

"The final event will be a series of one-to-one duel between the members of the winning team. However, only sixteen members of the winning team will be allowed to take part in the final event," said Nemuri who then added, "Your chances of progressing to the next event will be decided by a number of factors including your ability to defend your team's key stones, your ability to take out the enemy team's key stones, your ability to take down enemy team members and your ability to support your team mates."

"So it's a lot like the hero course entrance exam, kero," said Tsuyu.

"It certainly has some similarities," agreed Ochako.

Nemuri cracked her flogger whip and said, "Presenting… your fortresses!" Two identical fortresses then arose from the ground and, within each fortress, was twelve key stones. Although the key stones were different in colour: blue for the Hero Team and red for the Opposing Team, they were arranged in the same manner with seven small key stones located outside the main fortress building, four medium-sized key stones located inside the fortress and a single large key stone located within the central "throne room" of the fortress.

"As you can probably tell by just looking, the key stones are graded differently with the seven outer ones having only a single point of worth each while the four inner key stones have three points of worth each instead," said Nemuri who then smirked and added, "As for the large central key stone in the throne room of each fortress, it is worth… 50 points!"

Dorn smirked as she realised the implications, "In other words, as long as we succeed in protecting our central key stone while the enemy team loses theirs, victory is assured."

"The other team will likely have the same idea," said Vulkan.

"Then we will just have to form a defence line that even I will find impossible to take down without going beyond the given limitations," said Perturabo.

"You will be given five minutes to form a strategy with your team mates. I suggest that you all get to your respective fortresses and make the most of those five minutes," said Nemuri.

No further explanation was needed as the two teams went to their respective fortresses…

--At the Opposing Team's fortress…--

"So, do you want me to stay here to protect the stone or do you want me to join the front line?" asked Gwalchavad.

Well aware of Gwalchavad's quirk-cancelling ability, Guilliman said, "It will be best that you stay here to protect the stone. Corax is in the other team and I will not put it past her to try and sneak into the fortress with anyone else who can keep up with her. That's not even counting Sanguinius and Khan." She then turned her attention towards the rest of the team and explained, "Gwalchavad can create a quirk-cancelling field to prevent anyone from activating their quirks. However, that same field will also disable our own quirks so we will have to rely solely on our support gear and innate abilities that can function even within the said field."

"Alternatively, we can send Gwalchavad to the front line and disable all the quirks that the other team will be using to defend their key stones. Those with the support gear can then take down the de-powered team," argued Perturabo.

"A sound theoretical, but they will surely consider the possibility and prepare themselves accordingly thanks to Momo's quirk," replied Dorn.

"It's not just Momo's quirk that we should worry about. Gwalchavad's quirk can stop other people from activating their quirks but she can't exactly use it to remove something that is already created by quirks," said Vulkan.

"We must also consider those with mutation-type quirks which even Gwalchavad's ability cannot cancel out such as Asui Tsuyu," said Alpharius, who might actually be Omegon.

"There's also the fact that both Curze and Icarian, both of whom have precognitive abilities, are in the other team," added Ferrus.

Perturabo frowned before she nodded and said, "Very well, but know I would have argued further had we been allowed to arm ourselves with functional flame throwers and explosives."

Mei, as well as a certain race of war-loving xenos in an alternate universe, pouted at the fact that she could not bring along her "really awesome" support gear.

"I assume that I will be sent to the front lines then?" asked Magnus.

Guilliman nodded and said, "The other team has superior numbers and, with Gwalchavad staying behind to protect our key stones, we will need something to counter whatever tricks the other team will use to protect their key stones."

Magnus smirked as she spoke, "The fact that I can do 'Jedi mind tricks' will certainly help." Both Perturabo and Dorn almost rolled their eyes at Magnus' confident reply but did not disagree with her statement.

"I'll head out too since I can't do much fighting without my quirk, nya," said Nekona.

"As will we," said Omegon, who might actually be Alpharius. Vulkan, Ferrus and Fulgrim nodded in confirmation that they would head out as well.

"Then the rest of us will stay behind to protect the key stones," said Guilliman. "Gwalchavad and I will stay in the throne room to guard the central key stone while Perturabo and Dorn will take the other students to guard the outer and inner perimeter of this fortress."

"I will guard the inner perimeter. My support gear is better suited for close-quarter combat," said Dorn.

"Then I will deal with the outer perimeter outside the main building," said Perturabo who was determined to make sure that only her fellow primarchs would be able to breach the outer defences of the fortress.

It should be noted that Mei volunteered to protect the inner perimeter with Dorn due to the armaments of her "killa kan".

--Less than five minutes later…--

The second event of the sports festival began not with a bang but with a rumble as thorny vines rapidly grew around the Hero Team's fortress to from an additional wall around the fortress. More than a few people saw the wall of vines and thought of a certain classical animated movie of the pre-quirk era, 'Sleeping Beauty'.

Undeterred by the vines, the attack squad of the Opposing Team continued to charge towards the Hero Team's fortress. They soon encountered certain members of the Hero Team who were clearly an attack squad or a counter-attack squad. The members of the Hero Team's squad included: Angron, Russ, Lion, Sanguinius, Corax, Jaghatai and Mortarion.

Magnus smirked as she suddenly caused the other team to hallucinate and see multiple copies of herself and the other members of her squad. She then gave a mental message to her team members, "Break formation and scatter!"

Aware that Magnus had created a hallucination in an attempt to confuse the incoming enemy squad, the rest of the attack squad from the Opposing Team broke formation and went in separate directions. However, rather than try to intercept the scattered members of the Opposing Team, most of the attack squad members from the Hero Team continued to charge forward. The two exceptions were Russ and Mortarion as they targeted Nekona and Magnus respectively.

Magnus frowned as she could feel Mortarion's ability to drain stamina affect her. Although Magnus was no ordinary mortal, she was not a powerful daemon prince either so she needed to stop Mortarion quickly before the former daemon prince of Nurgle could drain her of her stamina completely. While maintaining most of the hallucinations, mostly to confound the remaining members of the Hero Team who had been entrusted to protect the key stones, Magnus charged towards Mortarion and tried to strike her down. However, in spite of lacking weapons of her own, Mortarion easily side-stepped from Magnus' stabbing strike and grabbed hold of her spear. Mortarion was then afflicted by a sudden head-splitting headache which made her stagger long enough for Magnus to leap back with her spear still in her hand. Well aware that Magnus could create hallucinations, Mortarion glared at her and growled, "I have always hated your kind of trickery."

"Well, I do aim to infuriate my haters in the best way possible," replied Magnus who had a smug smirk on her face while twirling her spear. Although she could not create actual psychic constructs, she could create hallucinations potent enough to cause some level of physical harm to the recipients such as giving them a painful headache or making their skin blister as though they had been scalded by boiling-hot water. She then asked rhetorically, "I assume that you're here to stop me from using my powers to deceive the defenders inside, aren't you?"

"Yes," confirmed Mortarion.

No more words were needed as the two former primarchs clashed in an epic duel that would be among the first of many…

--Meanwhile…--

Nekona was making her way towards the Hero Team's fortress when she sensed incoming danger and barely avoided getting a flying kick to the back of her head by Russ by ducking low. She frowned as she realised that Russ had somehow singled her out and asked, "How did you tell me apart from the hallucinations, nya?"

"Simple, I have a good nose and you have a stink which not even that cylops' mind tricks can fully replicate on short notice," answered Russ.

Nekona flushed and said, "I don't stink, nya!" She then pouted and added, "At least no more than anyone else who's taking part in this sports festival, nya."

Russ shrugged and said, "Whatever you say, you dumb cat." She then assumed a fighting stance and asked, "So, are you going to stand and fight or do I have to chase you down like a wolf chasing after a scaredy cat?"

Somehow, Nekona was able to smile in spite of her anger as she replied, "That depends, are you going to run away with your tail between your legs the moment I start fighting back, nya?"

Russ' grin widened as she activated her ability to transform into a larger and more feral form with the ears and tail of a wolf. She then charged towards Nekona while howling like a feral wolf of Norse legend. Nekona held her ground and, just as Russ was about to strike, stepped forward while thrusting her staff like a spear.

Although Nekona's transformed state made her strong and fast, Russ was far more experienced in combat so she easily side-stepped to the left side of Nekona's thrusting strike. The former primarch then lashed out with her clawed hands, scraping against Nekona's right shoulder pauldron.

Thankful for the generous gift from the support course, Nekona swiftly swung her staff in a wide arc with her right arm to prevent Russ from pushing her advantage. Instead of backing away from swing, Russ leapt over it instead. She then landed on all fours and tried to charge forward to attack Nekona again but was forced to duck to the right side at the last moment as Nekona tried to swipe at her with her left hand like a cat trying to claw at an incoming enemy. As Russ ducked, she took an opportunity to strike the left side of Nekona's abdomen with her clawed hands. Unlike the sturdy shoulder pauldrons, the abdominal portion of Nekona's armour was not as resilient to damage due to the need for flexibility. As such, Russ's claws managed to cause significant damage to the said part of the armour but not enough to actually wound Nekona.

Nekona stepped away from Russ and glared at her as she asked, "You're holding back, aren't you, nya?"

Russ nodded and replied, "If I really wanted to maim you or worse, you wouldn't be standing at this point." She then sighed and admitted, "However, if I ended up hurting you that badly, I would never hear the end of it from the others."

Surprised by Russ' admission, Nekona tilted her head and asked, "So… you're holding back because you want to avoid hurting me too badly by mistake and make your sisters and friends upset with you, nya?"

"Well, your ridiculous attempts to be a disgustingly cutesy cat-girl aside, you're a good cook and I still want to beat you in a cooking contest fair and square," admitted Russ who then wore a deadpan expression and added, "Plus, I'd rather give up alcohol forever than make Eri-chan upset with me by deliberately maiming you or worse."

Even Perturabo had a growing soft spot for Eri though she refused to admit it.

Amused by Russ' statement, Nekona laughed before she replied, "I'm probably going to regret saying this, but I'm honestly glad that you actually want to take me seriously in a fight, nya." She then readied herself for another bout of intense fighting and asked, "So, shall we continue where we left off, nya?"

Russ smirked as she assumed a fighting stance and said, "I though you'd never ask, you dumb cat."

The two combatants then resumed with their personal duel…

--At the Opposing Team's fortress…--

"Fire at will!" roared Perturabo.

The support class students who were with her, many of whom were in combat suits that resembled T'au battlesuits, quickly started to fire their weapons at the incoming former primarchs: Angron, Lion, Sanguinius, Corax and Jaghatai.

Thanks to Gwalchavad's quirk-cancelling field, both Sanguinius and Corax lost their ability to fly and transform into a wraith-like form respectively once they got well within the firing range of the first line of defenders. In spite of losing access to their respective abilities, never mind the fact that the defenders were using, as Mei would put it, "a whole zoggin heck lot of rubber dakka", both Sanguinius and Corax were able to avoid getting hit by the said bullets.

It could be argued that both Sanguinius and Corax managed to avoid getting hit by rubber bullets partly because the first line of defenders, Perturabo included, were busy keeping Khan at bay. Due to her enhanced speed being an innate ability that has no actual "off switch", Khan could still run extremely quickly even while inside Gwalchavad's quirk-cancelling field. Perturbed by the obvious inconvenience, Perturabo yelled, "Keep firing! Don't let any of them get close until your ammo reserves run dry!"

"Yes, ma'am!" responded the support course students who could not help but compare her to a particularly scary drill sergeant.

Suddenly, Sanguinius attacked Perturabo from above.

Caught off guard by the incoming attack from the winged former primarch who was supposed to be still flightless, Perturabo was barely able to block Sanguinius' "double stomp kick" with her armoured gauntlet which had arm-cannon attachments. Before Perturabo and the rest of her group of defenders could react, Sanguinius leapt off and started disarming the support class students by literally taking or knocking their weapons off their hands and then destroying them. Due to being shocked by Sanguinius' unexpected arrival, never mind her apparent speed and ability to use her wings as a second set of limbs in combat, the support students were too late in stopping Sanguinius from effectively crippling their combat capabilities.

Realising what Sanguinius was doing, Perturabo bit back a curse and tried to attack her by gunning her down. However, during her momentary distraction, Khan arrived and did a low spinning heel kick that hit Perturabo in the back of her right knee. Unable to maintain her balance, Perturabo could not take aim at Sanguinius.

Although Perturabo was undoubtedly a former primarch herself, she was more used to using tactics and ranged weapons to win her battles. As such, in spite of being armed with support gear, Perturabo knew that she could not hope to prevent the two former primarchs, who excelled in close-quarters combat, from taking down the first line of defence. That was not even counting the fact that at least three more were incoming and might arrive even sooner than expected.

In spite of the clearly disadvantageous situation, Perturabo refused to simply surrender so she swung her arm-mounted canons like bludgeoning clubs to drive Khan away. As Perturabo got back onto her feet, she had to ask Khan, "How did Sanguinius manage to reach us before you did?"

Khan grinned and said, "Let's just say that Angron's strong enough to get Sanguinius airborne."

Realising that Angron had thrown Sanguinius into the air and that the latter could still use her wings to glide and land in a relatively safe manner, Perturabo sighed and grumbled bitterly, "It seems that I have underestimated the cunning of that brute."

"Indeed, you have," said Lion who appeared behind Perturabo.

Well aware that Lion was not the only one who had just arrived, especially since she could hear some support course students screaming is dismay after a certain "human battering ram" named Angron had sent them flying like a Bloodbowl player, Perturabo asked, "Where's Corax?"

"She's taking out the key stones in the outer perimeter," said Lion who had no reason to hide the fact from Perturabo.

Not surprised by the decision, as well as the inevitable loss of the first line of defence, Perturabo sighed and said, "Well, since this line if going to fall anyway…" Her eyes then hardened with grim determination as she aimed her arm-mounted canons at Khan and Lion while roaring, "Iron within, iron without!"

Although Perturabo's defeat was inevitable, she would rather fall while trying to take down one of her former primarch opponents than simply give up.

--At the Hero Team's fortress…--

Although Magnus had created hallucinations to confuse the defenders at the Hero Team's fortress, Vulkan, Ferrus, Fulgrim, Alpharius and Omegon still had a bit of trouble while trying to get past the wall of vines. Given the fact that both Icarian and Curze had stayed behind to defend the fortress, the five former primarchs were willing to bet that they were using their respective precognitive quirks to maximise the hero course students' chances of being able to hold them back.

After all, Setsuna's flying detached fingers, which also had Mineta's sticky purple balls attached to them, were awfully good at tagging the three of the five former primarchs from Magnus' hallucinations. The three tagged former primarchs, Vulkan, Ferrus and Fulgim, had to resist the instinctive urge to try and pull the purple balls off from their armour as they knew that doing so would cause even more problems to them.

When Vulkan arrived at the wall of vines, she activated a unique feature of her hammer which was the ability to create a small flame like a typical lighter. Through the use of her pyrokinetic quirk, the small flame on the hammer quickly became a miniature inferno that could melt most types of metal with ease. She was about to use the flaming hammer to smash and burn a path through the wall of vines when a wall of ice appeared before her. Familiar with the quirk of a certain Todoroki Shouto, Vulkan smiled as she brought the hammer down with enough explosive force for the spectators to wonder if she was armed with a powerful bomb. She then covered herself in flames and charged past the path that she had made for herself, easily shrugging off any attempt to stop her with ice and vines.

Vulkan's charge come to a stop when Shouto, Kendou, Reiko, Tetsutetsu, Monoma and Manga appeared before her. She raised an eyebrow and said, "I was expecting more of you to stand in my way."

"Well, you're not the only one we have to defend our keystones from," said Kendou.

Monoma smirked and said, "Defeating you may not be possible, but delaying you long enough for our team to win is another matter altogether!" Shouto, Tetsutetsu, Manga and Reiko nodded in affirmative agreement with Monoma's claim.

Vulkan could easily tell from a glance that the team had been selected specifically to give her trouble. Tetsutetsu was essentially fireproof while in his metallic state and Reiko could actually use her telekinetic quirk to counter Vulkan's ability to manipulate flames. Manga could turn onomatopoeias into actual physical effects, including "watery effects", and Kendou, while not fireproof, was strong and could create powerful gusts of wind with her enlarged hands. Little needed to be said about Shouto's ability to create ice and Monoma, being someone who could copy quirks, was an obvious choice to assist the rest of the team. In spite of the trouble she was going to face soon, Vulkan smiled and said, "Very well, I shall be the hammer that will test your worth as future champions of this world." She then assumed a fighting stance and said, "Come and face me in the fires of battle!"

Without hesitation, both Tetsutetsu and Monoma transformed into metallic forms and charged towards Vulkan while Reiko used her telekinetic quirk to counter Vulkan's pyrokinesis. Manga shouted, "SPLASH!" while Kendou enlarged her hands so that she could hold onto the manifested word. Once her body, especially her hands, were wet from the effects of the word, she charged forward with the intention of striking Vulkan.

Vulkan, in spite of losing some control over her flames, easily knocked Monoma and Tetsutetsu aside with a few well-timed strikes of her hammer. However, Kendou was a little harder to counter as her enlarged hands were not only strong but also went well with her skills as a martial artist. In theory, Vulkan could have chosen a more brutal course of action and cripple Kendou's hands but she felt that doing so just to win a friendly competition was simply unsporting. That being said, no one said that Vulkan could not give Kendou's hands a few painful bruises and light burns.

Gritting her teeth, Kendou continued to attack Vulkan in spite of the stinging pain on her hands. She then heard Manga yell, "SLAM!" and felt a whoosh rush past her.

Vulkan smiled confidently as she held her hammer with her right hand while using her left hand to stop the manifested word, "SLAM!". Although the word failed to make her lose her footing or knock her down, it was able to drive her back a little as evidenced by the way her feet dug into the ground. She then tossed the word aside and took a step forward before slamming her hammer onto the ground to stop a wave of ice from immobilising her. As the ice broke apart, she said, "A worthy effort, but you will need to do better than that to slow me down for long let alone defeat me."

In spite of the lingering pain on her hands, Kendou smirked and said, "Then it's a good thing we're just getting started!"

Shouto nodded as he prepared another wave of ice and said, "We will hold the line or fall trying."

Vulkan did not need to look around to know that Tetsutetsu and Monoma were already back onto their feet, ready to charged forward to attack her again. Her smile widened as she roared jubilantly, "Then let the tempering continue!"

--Elsewhere, at a separate part of the Hero Team's fortress…--

Ferrus, who had used her metallic arms to tear a path through the vines, was suddenly attacked by lengths of tape, purple balls and glue. She was barely able to escape capture and quickly shot a few rounds of rubber bullets at her three attackers. However, her shots were blocked by a certain student who could harden his body to a rock-like state.

Eijirou grinned as he spoke to Ferrus, "I can tank these rubber bullets all day!"

Ferrus almost rolled her eyes at Eijirou's statement, mostly because she knew for a fact that she would sooner deplete all her rubber ammunition than be able to defeat his quirk-enhanced defence with only her two guns, and argued, "You're lucky that I can't use my actual ammunitions."

Eijirou, along with Hanta, Minoru and Bondo, visibly grimaced at the idea of Ferrus using her actual "bullets" which were essentially armour-piercing explosive ammunitions.

Suddenly, mushrooms started to appear on Ferrus' body. She frowned as she realised that she had been affected by Kinoko's mushroom-growing quirk and quickly activated a feature of her armour which allowed a protective helmet to rapidly form around her head, thus preventing the mushrooms from growing on her face directly.

In spite of the apparent advantage, Eijirou, Hanta, Minoru, Bondo and Kinoko knew better than to lower their guard around Ferrus. Their caution was soon proven justified when her armour started to generate an electrical field that prevented more mushrooms from growing on the said armour while also disintegrating the mushrooms that were already present on it. They were also fairly certain that the field around her armour would likely disintegrate anything that they could throw at her to immobilise her until its power supply ran out.

Minoru was nervous as he swore, "Crap, her arms aren't affected at all!" Indeed, her exposed metallic arms suffered no ill-effect from the field generated by her armour.

"Would explain why she's leaving them exposed like that," said Hanta who had a nervous grin on his face.

As the mushrooms broke down, Ferrus glared at the hero-students and said, "You're going to need to do better than that to slow me down."

Eijirou grinned as he entered his recently-discovered state of extreme hardness, which he had named his "Unbreakable Form" and said, "And you'll need to do more than intimidate us to make us stop standing in your way!"

Ferrus almost smirked in response as she assumed a fighting stance and said, "Then I shall be the hammer that will test the might of your defence!"

--Meanwhile, at another part of the Hero Team's fortress…--

Fulgrim easily cut her way through the wall of vines with her sword and was about to walk deeper into "enemy territory" when she suddenly assumed a defensive stance and blocked an incoming attack.

She raised an eyebrow as she realised that Karutoko had attacked her with a bronze-coloured chakram that was circular with four sharp points. Karutoko grinned broadly as she spun in mid-air in an attempt to attack Fulgrim again. Fulgrim easily deflected the second attack and was about to attack Karutoko when she had to bend backwards to about getting hit by a bean-bag round in the face.

Momo frowned as she reloaded her shotgun with more bean-bag rounds to support Karutoko.

Fulgrim smirked as she charged towards Momo with the intention of incapacitating her. However, instead of panicking, Momo instead took a leap back and threw a bag of powder at Fulgrim. As Fulgrim cut the bag in half with ease, she was suddenly enveloped by a grey cloud of powder which then self-ignited and exploded around her face.

Karutoko took advantage of the explosion to not only catch up with Fulgrim but also attack her from behind. However, Fulgrim easily spun around to deflect Karutoko's attack and even managed to side-step to avoid getting hit by another bean-bag round from Momo's shotgun. In spite of the singed skin and hair, Fulgrim's face somehow did not look any less beautiful as she spoke with a confident smile, "Impressive, but I have taken far worse hits than this."

Momo smiled and said, "We know."

It took Fulgrim a moment to realise that both Momo and Karutoko were waiting for something to happen and soon found out what it was when the ground beneath her suddenly became like wet mud. Her eyes widened as she sank into the ground and felt something heavy clamp onto her legs. Thinking quickly, she activated a feature of her armour which allowed her to essentially shed if off quickly during an emergency. Without her armour, as well as the added weights, weighing her down, she was able to leap off the mud-like ground and land onto solid ground. She frowned as she recalled a student from Class 1B who could make solid walls and floors soft like wet mud and asked rhetrocially, "Honenuki Juuzou, I presume?"

"You presume correctly," confirmed Momo.

Suddenly, Togaru fell from the sky and tried to attack Fulgrim from above with a pair of blades that grew from is arms. Fulgrim dodged the attack while also blocking another strike from Karutoko. Sensing danger, she quickly leapt away before the ground beneath her turned soft before dodging an attack from behind which was actually Pony's detached horn.

In spite of losing her armour, Fulgrim smiled as she faced her opponents and said, "Well, I must say that this is quite an exciting welcoming party." She then assumed a fighting stance not unlike that of a French duellist and said, "So allow me to return the favour!"

--Back at the Opposing Team's fortress…--

With the seven outer stones destroyed, as well as the outer defence team defeated, Angron, Lion, Sanguinius, Corax and Jaghatai proceeded to enter the fortress. They soon found trouble as the interior of the fortress was laden with traps including mines that released steel-reinforced nets that would trap anyone that activated them and automated canons that shot tear-gas.

Dorn and at least half of the defence team, including Hatsume Mei, had been waiting in one of the chambers that stored a key stone. They were also currently facing Angron and Jaghatai.

"Time to get krumped, ya gits!" yelled Mei as she proceeded to charge towards Angron in a clear attempt to somehow restrain her with the power claws of her killa kan which had blunt digits more suited for crushing an object instead of bladed claws.

Angron easily stopped the incoming charge by grabbing the power claws of Mei's killa kan with her bare hands but got a nasty shock, quite literally, when a surge of electrical power suddenly flowed through her. In spite of the pain Angron easily powered through it as she roared and spun around while throwing Mei's killa kan towards one of her classmates, a timid girl with dark-brown hair and wide eyes named Furasu Maina. The said classmate yelped as she caught Mei's killa kan with the help of her own suit which resembled an Imperial redemptor dreadnought suit. She then panicked as she saw Angron charge towards her and yelled, "P-please stay away!"

Maina spun around and quickly threw Mei back at Angron with enough force to actually stop her charge. In spite of getting tossed around, Mei showed no signs of giving up as she grabbed onto Angron and, with a show of surprising agility in spite of the clunky appearance of her killa kan, actually tossed the former primarch towards Maina while yelling, "Catch!"

"Why me?!" cried Maina in dismay as she activated the attack feature of her suit's left fist and made it deliver a spinning punch right at Angron's face. The punch was strong enough to send Angron flying through a wall.

Everyone in the chamber took a moment of truce to stare at the hole in the wall that was made by Angron's involuntary flight through it. Even Dorn, who was facing Jaghatai at the time, raised and eyebrow and said, "That's actually impressive, Furasu."

"I-I didn't kill her, did I?" asked Maina.

Jaghatai barked in laugher as she replied, "No need to worry, it'll take a lot more than a good punch in the face to bring her down!"

As if to prove Jaghatai's point, Angron arose from the rubble while seemingly cracking her neck back into place. She spat out a glob of blood from her bloody mouth and said, "That's a good punch." Her feral grin was anything but reassuring as she cracked her knuckles and added, "It looks like I can afford to stop holding back a little."

"P-please don't stop holding back…!" whimpered Maina who knew that her day was about to get even more terrifying.

--Meanwhile, at another part of the Opposing Team's fortress…--

Lion huffed as she walked out of a chamber that had the other half of Dorn's defence team and said, "They were more troublesome than expected."

Sanguinius smiled as she exited the room alongside Lion and said, "Their determination to prove the worth of their suits is, if nothing else, commendable."

"The suits are passable. It is the users' lack of combat experience that caused them to ultimate fail in their duty," argued Lion.

"Hopefully, they will realise the issue and, if not become skilled wielders of the weapons that they make, be able to find someone who can use them to their full potential," said Sanguinius.

Lion nodded as she and Sanguinius continued on their way to the next key stone while leaving a room littered with ruined combat suits and groaning students…

--Back at the Hero Team's fortress…--

"Damn, it looks like the three teams outside are close to getting beaten!" said Setsuna who had sent her eyes out of the fortress to survey the three sites of conflict. She was currently in the central chamber with some of the members of the Hero Team.

"That is well within our expectations," said Icarian who had decided to stay and defend the central key stone of her team's fortress alongside Curze.

"More concerning is the fact that neither Alpharius nor Omegon have shown themselves up until now," said Izuku who was still recovering his strength after using his ability to boost Ibara's quirk to the point that she could not only grow a wall of vines around the fortress but also cover all the key stones inside protective layers of vines. Part of the reason why the Hero Team could not afford to send more members to stop Fulgrim, Vulkan and Ferrus was because precautions had to be taken to ensure that neither Alpharius nor Omegon could destroy the key stones, especially the central one, without anyone noticing.

Ibara, who was still maintaining the vines, frowned and said, "I am aware that they are supposedly extremely sneaky but surely even they can't afford to spend too much time sneaking around if they want their team to win."

"No, they can't," agreed Curze who then did a subtle twitch with her fingers.

Izuku noticed the twitch and realised that it was time for him to do his part in protecting the central key stone from destruction. His eyes then started to glow with a golden light as he suddenly created a wave of energy that boosted the senses of everyone inside the central chamber. The affected members then realised that both Alpharius and Omegon had somehow managed to sneak all the way to the entrance of to the central chamber. Surprised by the fact that they had been caught, they were momentarily still before they had to defend themselves from Icarian and Curze who had their senses boosted by Izuku's power.

As the four former primarchs entered combat, Izuku boosted his ability to speak and be heard as he shouted to all the remaining hero course students who had been patiently waiting on standby, "To all team members, the twins have entered combat with Icarian and Curze! Head out and help the others stop the other three!"

--At a different part of the Hero Team's fortress…--

"About damn time!" said Awase who wanted to do more than just stand guard after fortifying blockades at various entrances to limit the chances of members from the Opposing Team being able to sneak in.

Kyouka, who had been using her keen sense of hearing to detect incoming opponents the whole time, frowned and said, "I get that they can sneak in very well but how the hell did I not even notice them coming in?!"

"Pondering on how the twins have managed to get past us can wait. We have fellow team mates to desperately need our aid!" said Tenya.

"Let's go and help them out!" said Mina. Like Awase, she wanted to do more than just stand guard after making large puddles of slippery slime to impede the progess of anyone who wanted to to sneak into her team's fortress.

"Yeah!" agreed Tooru and many other students.

--Outside the Hero Team's fortress…--

Vulkan paused her assault as she turned her attention towards the fortress and said, "So, the twins have failed in their mission to destroy the central key stone undetected." Between the "vox message" from the twins and Izuku's quirk-boosted shout which could be heard from even beyond the primary walls of the fortress, there was no denying the fact that the twins had been discovered.

"So it seems," said Kendou whose hands were covered in painful bruises and thankfully-minor burns.

Shouto, who was already forced to use the fire aspect of his quirk to keep his body warm, asked, "Do you intend to continue fighting, Vulkan?"

Vulkan smiled at the two and said, "Yes. It will be shameful to give up without doing my very best to somehow win."

"Then our trial by the fires of the underworld will continue," said Reiko who had a dislocated shoulder.

Vulkan nodded and was about to continue fighting when the sky above darkened. She looked up and wore a bitter smile as she said her thoughts aloud, "I was wondering when Kouda will start calling his animal comrades."

--At the field between the two fortresses…--

"Well, it looks like I lost, nya," said Nekona whose armour was in tatters and was starting to bleed from several light cuts and scrapes.

"It if makes you feel any better, you put up a better fight than most," said Russ who actually had a single bruise on her face.

"Well, I did say that I want to be a restaurant owner, not a pro-hero, nya," said Nekona.

A moment of silence passed before Russ asked, "You're frustrated as frak, aren't you?"

"Yeah," admitted Nekona.

"Well, you're free to drop by and train with my sisters until you feel more confident of your chances of giving me a proper fight at least," said Russ.

Nekona grinned and said, "Just don't start whining when I finally beat you, nya!"

Russ laughed and said, "Hah, as if that will ever happen in a hundred years!"

--Back at the Hero Team's fortress…--

Magnus, who had barely defeated Mortarion through the use of both support gear and an "ungodly number" of painful hallucinations, peeked through one of the gaps in the wall of vines and noticed that Fulgrim was still facing her current opponents. Though it was clear that Fulgrim was gaining the upper hand, her advantage would be soon lost once enemy reinforcements arrive. As if to prove Magnus' point, some of the birds circling in the sky above suddenly attacked Fulgim with the intention of distracting her with painful pecks and scratches. Magnus quickly created an illusion with tricked the birds to attacking Togaru, who was duelling Fulgrim alongside with Karutoko at the time, instead.

"W-what the hell?!" yelled Togaru as he tried to protect himself from the birds without harming them.

Although exhausted from her fight with Mortarion, Magnus was still a former primarch as she charged towards Momo and attacked her with the blunt side of her spear. Momo was barely able to block the incoming attack with her shotgun but at the expense of having it damaged to the point of being useless as a gun. What was more, the blow was strong enough to send Momo flying. Pony, who was riding on one of her detached horns, quickly grabbed onto Momo and flew away while yelling as loudly as she could, "Magnus is here!"

Fulgrim, who was deflecting continuous strikes from Karutoko, glanced at Magnus and asked, "What took you so long?"

"Mortarion was troublesome to deal with," answered Magnus who then bitterly added, "and she forced me to deplete my strength to defeat her."

"No grand illusions then?" asked Fulgrim who was certain that she had just caused Karutoko's arm to dislocate with the flat side of her blade. However, Karutoko's accelerated regeneration and high pain tolerance made the attack near-inconsequential.

"Unfortunately, no," said Magnus who easily stepped aside to about getting her feet grabbed by Juuzou and then cut down one of Pony's detached horns with her spear.

"Well, at least I won't have to worry about being covered in bird droppings," said Fulgim while glancing at Togaru who was getting pelted with bird droppings and was cursing and swearing like an angry sailor.

Even Karutoko grimaced at the sight of Togaru getting pelted with bird droppings and said, "Hwewww…!"

Suddenly, Magnus swung her spear to cut a rubber bullet that came from a sniper rifle that Momo had made to replace her damaged shotgun. Momo gritted her teeth and said, "We can't hold the line for long at this rate!"

"Then it's a good thing that we're here!"

Magnus frowned as she saw Tenya arrive. As someone with the ability to read minds, she knew that Tenya was not alone as he tried to attack her with a spinning flying kick. As if to prove her point, Shihai appeared out of Tenya's shadow and attempted to grab onto Magnus' spear so that she could not use it to block Tenya's kick or strike back. However, Magnus did not need to use her spear to counter the two attackers as a quick hallucination was enough to make Shihai grapple Tenya's torso instead of her spear.

Tenya's dismay was unmistakable as he yelled while getting knocked off course by Shihai, "Kuroiro! You're grabbing the wrong thing!"

While Tenya and Kuroiro got themselves comically entangled, Magnus noticed that more "enemy reinforcements" were incoming. She was half-tempted to create more hallucinations to cause disarray among her enemies but ultimately chose not to do so.

Less than five seconds later, Hizashi made an announcement, "Time's UP! With all their key stones intact, the Hero Team wins! YEAHHH!"

"That being said, the Opposing Team has not been slouches either as they have managed to successfully defend their central key stone to the bitter end," said Oboro.

"Given the disadvantages in both numbers and general combat experience, the fact that they have managed to hold out for so long with the help of their advanced support gear is a testament of both their potential and the strategic capabilities of their leaders," said Shouta.

"Indeed! So let's give a round of applause to both teams for giving us this exciting team event!" said Hizashi.

As the crowd cheered, Magnus shook her head with a bitter smile and said, "Well, at least we gave a good showing."

--At the Opposing Team's fortress…--

Guilliman and Gwalchavad, who had been protecting the central key stone from Sanguinius, Lion and Corax, lowered their weapons after hearing the announcement that their team had lost. Guilliman sighed as she bitterly said with a pout, "This went about as well as can be expected, given the circumstances."

Sanguinius smiled at Guilliman and said, "We would have lost had the twins successfully destroyed our central key stone."

"So, who was the one that directed the defence of the other fortress?" asked Gwalchavad.

"Izuku did albeit with some help and guidance from us and our sisters in he Hero Team," said Corax who recalled how Izuku asked Momo if she could create lightweight yet tough materials for Awase to use to build a barricade that was fused to the various entrances of the Hero Team's fortress.

Guilliman smirked and said, "I suspected as much."

"He's no genius strategist but he's certainly smart enough to be a competent one," said Lion who recalled how Izuku was tempted to have Kouji's animals take part in the defence of the Hero Team's fortress but ultimately deemed it as too risky due to Magnus' ability to create hallucinations to trick them. While there was no denying that Mortarion had volunteered to keep Magnus at bay, Izuku showed little hesitation in accepting her suggestion as he believed that her stamina-draining ability would, at the very least, weaken Magnus enough to limit her mind-based abilities.

"A skilled strategist who's also a strong support-type champion. He'll be a menace to many enemies in the future for certain," said Gwalchavad.

"And a great boon to the good people of this world," said Sanguinius as she and the other former primarchs left the central chamber.

An hour-long lunch break was announced so that everyone, including the participants, would be able to rest and get a meal before the start of the final event. It also allowed some students, especially Togaru, to get a proper shower. As for who would be allowed to take part in the final event, the teachers decided to leave it unannounced until after the hour-long break was over.

--In the primarchs' original universe…--

Although the loyalist sons of Vulkan, Dorn, Ferrus and Guilliman were unhappy that the reincarnations of their primarch progenitors had lost, they were willing to at least acknowledge the fact that they had done the best they could with the given circumstances. After all, lack of advanced support gear aside, their opponents were superior in both number and, thanks to regular training with the reincarnated primarchs, general combat experience. Also, few could deny the fact that facing with an enemy team which had not only a skilled and well-informed strategist but also two members who were skilled at precognition would make forming any viable strategy against them complicated, at best.

In fact, compared to the loyalist space marines whose reincarnated primarchs had lost in the second event, the various sects of the Cult Mechanicus as a whole were actually more upset about the fact that the team that used advanced support gear had lost.

Still, there were moments that made many loyal imperial citizens, as well as fellow Ork spectators, cheer. One of them would, quite understandably, be the epic duel between Angron with Mei and Maina. Although Angron clearly won in the end, as evidenced by her act of ripping the combat suits limb from limb, the fact that both Mei and Maina were able to hold her off and even cause her physical harm were nothing short of praiseworthy. After all, who could have expected Mei and Maina to actually succeed in hitting Angron in the face a second time by doing a crude version of a fusion that resulted in Maina, whose damaged suit was missing a left arm at the time, wielding Mei's killa kan, which only had its right arm at the time, as a makeshift hammer-limb?

Ork Mekboys, Mechanicus Tech Priests and Techmarines giving one another "high-fives" was a strange sight that not even Tzeench or Cegorach could have imagined.

With the conclusion of the second event, it was only a matter of time before the third and final event would begin.

--End Chapter--

Author's Notes:

The next chapter will cover the final event which includes a fight scene that I have been wanting to write down for some time.

Until next time, go beyond, plus ultra!
