"I really don't think we should be watching this," Chloe Decker said as she munched on some popcorn. They were sitting in front of their ridiculously large tv in the living room, which she'd only gotten recently to try and cheer up Trixie, her precious daughter from her first marriage, after the death of her father. Chloe winced as she watched as Officer Dewey tried to secure the scene after the latest attack by Ghostface.

"Mom," Trixie said with a sigh, "you do realize that Maze and Eve show me worst stuff than this, right?" She paused, grabbing a handful of popcorn from the bowl that sat between them. "You know, demon from Hell who talks about torturing people all the time and her badass wife who helps her go after bounty jumpers?" Trixie frowned at that and Chloe did find it odd that she had decided to explain who Maze was… even if she was being sarcastic about Maze being a 'demon', not realizing that was actually the case. "We aren't spending all that time watching Toy Story. This isn't going to give me nightmares."

"Oh, I know that," Chloe lied; of course her daughter wouldn't be fazed by such things. "I was referring to how they are portraying police work!" She waved at the screen. "I mean, come on, they call THAT securing a crime scene? No wonder Ghostface is able to get in and out so easily."

Trixie groaned at that. "Mom, please! You whined enough during Predator 2…"

"Okay, okay, I'll be quiet," Chloe assured her. 'As annoying as watching these joke of a police force do their job is… at least its making Trixie happy.' It hurt her heart how down her daughter had been. Trixie had been through a lot this last year. First had been the death of her father. Dan Esposito might not have been the best cop in the world, taking too many short cuts at the beginning and later finding himself so stuck with no hope of advancement that he'd become lazy at work, but he had been a good father to Trixie. His death had hit her so hard… and then having to tell her daughter that Lucifer had to leave too? That Trixie didn't even get to say goodbye? 'I wish I could tell her the truth,' Chloe thought sadly; Trixie thought Lucifer had gone overseas to handle the 'family business' and didn't understand why he couldn't call her or video chat. One day Chloe would tell her that he was the Devil… but she was too young to handle that information.

And thinking about Lucifer, the love of her life, her soulmate, made her hands go down to her tummy. That would be another thing Trixie would have to deal with soon. While she was excited to be a big sister having a baby in the house would be very rough. Even with Maze and Eve volunteering to let her stay at their place until Rory could sleep through most nights it still would be a trial.

'Maze and Eve… what would I do without my Tribe. My… very, very, very odd tribe.' Chloe shook her head. 'Maze, the demon that Lucifer brought up from Hell, though he had been rather vague on WHY he decided to bring her, now that I think about it…' She made a mental note to ask; Maze might not answer but then again she might. After God had told her that it was possible for her to develop a soul, hinting that she actually HAD grown a soul, Maze had been working to be a touch more open about things. 'And Eve, the first woman… and the first person to sleep with Lucifer. And I almost married her son Cain, the first murderer.'

Chloe suddenly blinked.

"Mom?" Trixie said, pausing the movie. "What's up?"

"I don't know," Chloe said, confused. "I just… I had the strangest urge to go over a basic summary of the important people in our lives."

Trixie blinked at that. "Oh."

"Yeah, it's weird-"

"No," Trixie said. "I was going to ask to rewind the video because I began to think about Maze and Eve and how I knew them and their connections to me."

That made Chloe's befuddlement turn to worry. "That sounds… very odd." She considered praying to Amenadiel for answers, hoping that this wasn't a sign of something really bad happening. Considering she was pregnant with the daughter of the Devil she was always on the lookout for when celestial things began to pop up. But then she realized just how silly that sounded. What could be so dangerous about thinking about the people she loved? Honestly if it was a sign of some new celestial arrival then they couldn't be all that bad. What next, one that made her get free-

Her phone rang, utterly startling Chloe out of her thoughts. She glanced at Trixie who merely sighed and shrugged; she was far too used to Chloe getting interrupt during her off hours, sadly. "Decker."

"Hey Lieutenant," Carol said to her.

'Carol,' Chloe thought. "Ella's new boyfriend. A real great detective. Which Ella deserves after what happened with her last boyfriend being a serial killer. Ella deserves happiness… she is such a wonderful person and- what the hell?' Chloe shook her head as she realized she was doing it again. "Seriously?" she muttered.

"Uh…" Carol said and Chloe realized she'd said that out loud.

"Sorry… I was… what is it?"

"Listen, it just came over the wire… there was a murder at Lux."

"At Lux?" Chloe said, hating how dumb she sounded.

"Lux?" Trixie said before perking up. "Lucifer's home?"

Chloe winced at that. "No… no, I'm sorry Monkey, its…" She sighed. "Someone was killed at Lux." Which was a VERY big deal. Amenadiel had been using Lux to help his brothers and sisters integrate more with Earth and humanity. A murder would get a LOT of attention they didn't need; he'd assured her and Linda that he had it worked out, that his siblings wouldn't draw attention to themselves and suddenly have everyone realizing that Lux was Heaven's training center. Still…

She stroked Trixie's hair, the pre-teen sighing at the news Lucifer hadn't returned, and Chloe focused on the phone call.

"Alright, murder at Lux. That's going to be high profile." 'More than you realize,' she mentally added, wondering how City Hall and the Commissioner would take God's personal club being the site of a murder.

"That's… not why I'm calling you," Carol said. "Listen, I'm lead on this and Sonya is on vacation-"

"Right, I remember," Chloe said only to blink when she DIDN'T go on a long monologue about who Sonya was. 'Very weird.'

"Okay. So we tried to get a hold of the owner, Amenadiel Morningstar-" Chloe winced; they needed to get Ameandiel a last name of his own because Amenadiel Morningstar was a mouthful; they had considered using his first name as his last name be he said that it would be too odd to be Theodore Amenadiel. They had considered using Martin but considering that Amenadiel and Linda still weren't ready to tie the knot that had been shot down. "-but he wasn't available."

"Okay."

"So that's why I'm calling you."

"I can try and reach out to Ameandiel," she said only to quickly add, "you know, see if some of my contacts can find him…" She trailed off, sensing there was more to this than she realized.

Carol was quiet for a moment. "Lieutenant… you do realize YOU are the other owner of Lux, right?"

It took her a moment to digest that. "I'm sorry… what?"

Carol groaned. "Yeah, I got the sense you had no idea. According to the records Mr. Morningstar signed over his brother's shares in the club to you. He actually managed to buy the entire tower too, not sure how he did that considering it's a historical site but… yeah. According to the paperwork you are co-owner."

"…I own Lux?" Chloe said dumbly.

"Yeah… listen, this is going to be complicated but-"

"No… you're right. I… I need to get down there. Meet this head on since there is going to be a lot of conflict of interest." She shook her head, trying to wrap her head around what Amenadiel had done and why he'd never told her. "Thanks Carol."

She hung up only to jump when she saw Trixie had kneeled on the couch so she could get right in her face. "You own Lux?"

"Uh… along with Amenadiel, apparently."

"We… we could have lived in Lucifer's penthouse this entire time!?" Trixie exclaimed.

"No," Chloe said, wanting to head off that little idea. "That is still Lucifer's home." 'Except it isn't. Not really. Because he promised our daughter he'd lock himself forever in Hell, the one place he hates most of all.'

"He wouldn't mind! He has a hot tub on the balcony! And princess stairs! We don't have Princess Stairs!"

Chloe smiled at that. 'Oh, he will hate it when I tell him that-'

Her smile instantly dropped.

"Mom?"

"Uh… listen, we need to head down to Lux, okay? So get your shoes on."

"You're taking me with you?" Trixie asked, surprised.

"Yeah," Chloe said. "Not to move in though," she added quickly, knowing that if she didn't let her daughter know that Trixie would come back from her room with a suitcase. "I'm sure one of the wait staff can let you into the lounge so you can hang out while I deal with stuff. Bring your phone and tablet, okay?" Maze and Eve most likely were out and Linda's place was too far away, meaning that Trixie had to come with her. 'Besides, the angels can watch after her. She'll be safe.'

She ignored the little voice whispering that they hadn't been able to stop a murder from happening.

~MC~MC~MC~

"Captain," Renard said as he took a seat next to me, "I say this with all the respect in the world but… what the fuck?"

"Yeah, I'm as lost as you are, Renard," I admitted as I stretched my legs out in front of me. We were seated at a booth, watching as cops moved around interviewing the staff. We had been told to park it since Mai and I had been with Lucifer and some of the first to see the body. Everyone else at the party had been cleared out; the cops only grabbing those closest to the room for interviews then while getting info from everyone else in case they needed it. Mr. Pine hadn't been happy about his big party breaking up but I had pulled rank and told him to shut up and let the cops do their job. The last thing I needed was for them to be pissy with us and decide to take it out on me. "I mean… this feels like FAB stuff-"

"The Devil pacing nervously around a nightclub is FAB?" Yuri complained, gesturing at Lucifer who was, in fact, moving about Lux looking rather jittery. It made me wonder what I had missed ever since the end of Season 4. Last I knew Lucifer had been forced to return to Hell in order to protect Baby Charlie and keep the demons at bay. But he was back… it made me wonder if the show had continued on… or rather life… while I was dealing with Yu-Gi-Oh! stuff.

And then I realized I was just accepting that Lucifer and Yugioh took place in the same reality.

"I honestly can't believe this is my life," Yuri complained.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh, but Scooby Doo and the gang dueling the Pharaoh last Halloween was perfectly fine, you didn't react to that at all!"

"Because they were our old friends," Mai said as she came over with a smile that had me wondering if she was fucking with me or if she was serious. She finished off her drink and waved for another one, a waitress hurrying over since there really wasn't anything else to do.

I squeezed my eyes shut and pondered if somehow I had discovered a 5th wall when I'd gotten so many people to break the 4th wall on understanding the rules of this world. Perhaps that would be how it always was and no matter what I did I would always see insanity they missed. I would get them near my level only to discover that there were far more barriers for me to smash.

I had explained the basic idea behind Lucifer to my friends… the show and the person. Naturally my friends were having a hard time wrapping their minds around the idea that the Devil helped the LAPD solve crimes. Which was odd and frustrating because I was from another universe and Mai was a Greek goddess and we were friends with an Egyptian Ghost.

~Meanwhile…~

"I am not a ghost!" the Pharaoh declared suddenly appearing next to Yugi. He frowned, not knowing WHO had claimed that but knowing someone had made the insult. "I do not-"

He paused, noticing he had appeared while Tea and Yugi were engaged in some heavy petting on Yugi's bed.

"...well, I'm not," he said before disappearing.

~Back at the Plot…~

"So," Yuri asked me, "how pissed do you think Seto will be? On a scale of one to Seto Kaiba?"

"God damn it," I muttered

"Careful," Renard stated, eyeing up Lucifer, "you might invite him down here."

"And knowing my luck he'll fucking duel," I muttered darkly before standing up. "Probably wield so weird Christian themed deck with Jesus as the most powerful card in the deck, rivaling the God Cards. Listen, I'm going to see if I can't get us released from this. Lucifer knows we didn't kill whoever that was so hopefully I can get him to back off."

Mai though shook her head. "Edwin… he demanded we leave this universe. I don't think we can count on him of alibis."

"…that's fair but I'm still gonna try."

"Why?" Renard asked.

"Listen, I don't know what has Lucifer hating my guts but clearly he knows that Mai and I are more than we seem. I know he is more than he seems. And its Halloween and we were JUST in the Virtual World so that means this is FAB. So I want to cut to the chase and get to whatever the fuck the FAB has in store for us. I can wait for him to get done or I can go try and work out our issues because it is real clear to me that this Halloween we're solving a murder with Lucifer Morningstar."

Mai frowned as she considered that, idly running a finger along the edge of her glass. "I… do see the logic in that."

I gave a mocking half bow and held out my hand, subtly calling Gleipnir to me. "Don't worry, I'm well armed." I flashed my Duel Band to them as well; with a god-killing weapon and memory metal that could become whatever I wanted I was feeling far better about my chances in facing off with Lucifer. 'Millennium Key, Gleipnir, and Memory Metal. And a Morpher too though I'd rather not use that if I have too.' I reached up and adjusted my glasses. 'These are useless since Lux doesn't have much technology…' I felt a bit of heat on my back and remembered how, when the Pharaoh and I had been sucked into fighting against Thanos earlier, the tattooed wings I'd gained outside the gates of Heaven from my mom had turned into burning angelic wings that, along with the Millennium Key, had allowed me to actually fly. 'Wonder how the Lightbringer would react to those?' I thought before realizing I was going over facts I already knew again. 'Damn it…'

I threaded my way across the dance floor to where Lucifer was standing, looking very edgy which was… odd. Made me wonder just what was going on that-

"Oh! Hey!"

I turned and watched as Ella Lopez, Lucifer and Chloe's friend who did CSI and forensic work for the LAPD, hurried up to me with a grin.

"Uh… hey?" I said awkwardly.

"You're Edwin Chaos, right?"

"I am," I said, surprised that rather than run up to Lucifer she'd approached me.

"Wow! This is… okay, wow!"

Something that was odd about being in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh was that everyone wasn't a cartoon character. At least in my eyes. They looked human just with… well… cartoon aspects. Poofier hair, for example. Flawless skin. But they looked like humans. I never looked at myself in a mirror and was shocked at who was staring back at me. Mai looked just as flesh and blood human as I did. Same with Yugi and the rest. Yet it wasn't uncanny valley either because they also looked perfectly like their cartoon/manga selves. With the Mystery Inc gang it wasn't like I had seen them as their live action counterparts. No… they looked human but also I could tell they were the cartoon characters. It was like… the best casting in the universe. So perfect that you just went 'yeah, this person was born to play this part'.

Or my brain was broken.

The point was that everyone appeared like humans to me. Fit in perfectly with the likes of Ella Lopez.

And yet I swore I could see her eyes turn into hearts as she stared at me.

"Oh… oh this is just so amazing! I spent so much time watching the live feed of the Battle City Tournament and before that I watched the clips Pegasus put up from Duelist Kingdom! You were so amazing in all of them! Totally my favorite duelist to watch. Pegasus didn't focus nearly enough on you. I mean, sure, Yugi Muto is the King of Games but show us other duelists, you know? That's what helps really grow the game." She shook her head. "But you are always so great in your duels. I love your trash talk."

"Uh… thanks," I said; it was still really weird for me to have fans.

Ella quickly dug into her bag and pulled out a pad of paper. "Hey, can I get an autograph? It will totally drive everyone at my card shop insane if I have one from you."

"Yeah, sure," I said with a smile, taking the pen and dashing off just not my autograph but also a quick note thankingElla and letting her know how great she was. I didn't think she was the kind of person to turn around and sell stuff like that on Ebay but it didn't hurt.

"Thanks! I mostly just play for fun, never even won a tournament, but I'm trying to build this Dragonmaid deck because, you know, dragons are just so cool but these ones are helpful dragons and-"

"Alright, I think that's enough time spent around the destructive little Chaos," Lucifer said, coming over to us and placing his hand on Ella's shoulder, trying to guide her away from me.

"Hey man," Ella said in a huff, "if you want to talk to Mr. Chaos you can wait your turn, okay?" She shrugged off his arm and turned back to me. "So, who was the bigger challenge? Weevil Underwood or that weird Bruno guy?"

"Bruno tried to kill me several times so I'd say it was him," I replied, though I wasn't entirely focused on the question. Instead I was considering the very weird interaction Lucifer had just had with his friend.

"I really must protest, Ms. Lopez…" Lucifer said again only for Ella to whip around and smack his hand away.

"Hey, normally I'm all for touchy feely stuff but no means no, Mister. I'm trying to have a conversation here and you are interrupting it, Mr. Strange Man!"

"…what the fuck?" I whispered to myself as Ella turned back to me.

"Sorry about that. Weirdos, am I right?" she laughed at that and patted my arm. "Anyway, Weevil totally ruined using Bug Decks for me. I would have considered it but I don't want people to think I'm a Weevil Fan, am I right?" She let out a puff of air and rolled her eyes. "As horrifying as it is that those people might exist! I mean, I get liking the bad guys but Weevil isn't even bad! He's just weird!" She glanced back at Lucifer before whispering, "I bet he's a Weevil fan."

"Yeah, there are some cool cards in that deck," I said, locking eyes with Lucifer and, over Ella's head, flicking them down towards her with a look of "What is going on?" But Lucifer just glowered at me like I was somehow the source of his troubles. "Listen, I'd love to continue chatting about this with you but don't you have a murder to… you know?"

"Oh!" Ella said, snapping to attention. "Right… right! I'll get right on that! But hey, if we get time I'd love to talk to you more." Ella gave me a hug which I reluctantly returned after a moment; Mai, Tea, and Yuri were getting me to be more comfortable with random hugging but I still had problems with being touched. She finally let go and turned only to let out a yelp when she found Lucifer hovering admittedly rather close to her. "Dude! Its creepy to lurk! That's just asking for a good punch to the nose!" She glanced back at me. "You want me to get you someone to keep this stalker away from you?"

"I'll… be fine," I said slowly, feeling like I had walked onto a stage only to discover the play was a half way done and I hadn't memorized any of my lines.

"Suit yourself." She formed a V with her fingers, pointed at her eyes, then turned her hand towards Lucifer before walking away.

"…okay, what the fuck was that?" I hissed at Lucifer. "Seriously, what did you do to piss her off? Or is that an alternate reality version of her? This isn't a Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost situation, is it? Because I've dealt with Earth-2 doppelgangers already and I'm not in the mood to deal with it again."

"And I am not in the mood to destroy all of existence by creating a paradox," Lucifer complained. "So unlike you, who enjoys marching around without a thought about how their actions could destroy everything, I actually made sure to have some protection."

"I'm sorry, are you trying to claim YOU are the more responsible one? Just how much cocaine have you snorted recently?"

"None," Lucifer said, sounding a bit disappointed at that before shaking his head and refocusing on scolding and insulting me. "And in this case yes I am. You and your little goddess decided to come and do Dad knows what in MY city without a thought about how it would affect things."

"Dude, I'm here because Seto told me I had to be since our idiot head of the North America Branch held the party in a bar." Lucifer stared at me, confused by all of that, but I plowed on. "I am not looking for any trouble. I just want to get out of this filler arc as fast as possible." I shook my head. "Not that any of this makes sense. I mean, I get you being topside is dangerous, what with the demons looking to rebel, but why do… whatever you did… to make it that your friends don't see you? Or they do but they don't realize you are you?"

"It's a blind spot," Lucifer muttered without realizing what he was saying… or to whom. But he did quickly remember I was there because at once he declared, "And I am not explaining it to you!" He moved to grab my arm. "And you should know, Mr. This Is All A Show To Me, that everyone believes I disappeared from Earth on August 4th. Seeing as we're past that I need to remain hidden so I don't erase my daughter from existence!"

I stared at him in shock.

"Well?" Lucifer said.

"I only go through Season 4, where Eve showed up and you went back to Hell to ensure Charlie wasn't made the new king. I got sucked into this world right after that."

"…well well well," Lucifer said, suddenly sounded delighted. "It looks like the little Chaos isn't as all knowing as my brother made me believe. And here with how Amenadiel was hyping you up I thought you were something beyond a Chaos. The peak of their kind. The Chaos Lord or whatever other title you want to give to yourself. But here you are, little man… not impressing me at all."

"I'm at most 2 inches shorter than you," I complained.

"Which still makes you little. I could go with young… how old are you, anyway, hmmm? I was told you were a physical manifestation of Chaos itself so eternal? Or does it only count when you squirmed your way into the world."

"I'm sorry, I'm what now?" I said confused. "Listen, maybe we should sit down and talk about you knowing a lot more about this than I do!"

Lucifer considered me for a long moment… and blinked in surprise. "That's… that's true. You aren't lying." He leaned in close and tilted his head, like he was studying a prime cut of beef. "You truly don't know what you are, do you?"

"I know I'm the reincarnation of Endymion and that my goddess girlfriend, when she has her full memories, wants to make me a god. But that's about it." Oh, there was more I knew but I thought it better to hold onto some information. At least until I was sure Lucifer wasn't going to pick me up like I was a mountain man's bride and fly me off to another universe. 'I really need to begin carrying my Millennium Ring around with me, just for safety's sake.'

I had never bothered to try and bond with the Millennium Ring I had taken from Earth-2 and had worried what would happen if I had two different items. As such it sat in one of the safes I had sunk into the pacific, only accessible with the Millennium Key. That kept it protected… but it didn't do me much good if I ended up stuck in an alternate reality and couldn't get to it.

However, my mind then went back to something Lucifer had said early. "Wait… you… you and Chloe have a daughter?"

"…come along then, let's go."

"Oh no. No no no. You don't get to drop that on me, buddy boy!" I complained. "You have a daughter but there is a… paradox? And now no one can know you're here and not in… oh. Oh fuck no. Do NOT tell me those fucking writers fucked you over and refused to let you be with your family!"

"There were no writers, you delusional little vagabond," Lucifer complained. "I made that choice. I made a promise to my daughter that I wouldn't change her."

"You promised a baby to lock yourself in Hell?"

"No, her adult self. There was time travel involved-" I scoffed at that; it sounded so fucking dumb, "-but I am not discussing this with you. We are going to discuss you showing up here and doing your little… Chaos Magic."

"Chaos Magic?"

"Or whatever it is you do."

"I'm not the fucking Scarlet Witch!" I exclaimed. "I can't declare No More Mutants and suddenly depower everyone!"

"But you do interfere and alter things," Lucifer charged.

I crossed my arms over my chest. "The first time I did it was to deal with that Weevil bugger Ella was talking about. He threw some rare cards into the ocean and two of my friends dove in to retrieve them. I took offense." Lucifer raised an eyebrow at that. "I forced him to give them his suite on the ship so they could warm up. The second time it was to stop an innocent kid from being kidnapped. If you think for one moment I'm going to apologize for that-"

Lucifer though shook his head. "Fine fine, you did some good there."

"I'd say I did some amazing work. And it's shocking that Mr. Free Will Is Everything is telling me to follow the Grand Plan."

"Do not accuse me of following plans!" Lucifer said, horrified by the thought.

I threw up my hands but didn't say anything else. I wasn't in the mood to fight.

Lucifer though narrowed his eyes, sizing me up and looking for any reason to go at me. "Don't think you can startle me with your future knowledge. I have been warned about you and your kind. A Chaos... the beings that like to meddle with things, the physical embodiment of the Primordial Chaos." Lucifer suddenly leaned in. "I can tell you aren't as old as this body makes you out to be. So come now... how many eons have you been walking about in this shell of yours? Just how old are you?"

"I got sucked into this world when I was 35," I replied. Lucifer frowned at that, tilting his head, and I shrugged. "Telling the truth. Not sure why this world made me look 22 other than it made it less creepy for me to become friends with teenagers. Which, I admit, still sounds insanely creepy." I let out a sigh at that. "But I'm 35. Even though it feels like it's been centuries thanks to being dragged into the multiverse."

"Yes and you can just go back to it and leave my world alone."

"Sorry, but I was told that I was here to help Yu... some people." While Lucifer was a good person that didn't mean he didn't know some very BAD people who might use Yugi and his friends against me. Better to keep things quiet when it came to names.

Lucifer considered me for a long moment. "But is that what you really want?" he asked and I braced myself for what was coming next. His eyes flashed and with a silky purr said, "Tell me... what is it your desire?"

I just stared at him.

Lucifer... frowned.

"Not a Miracle, before you ask, though my mom did call me one," I said with a smile before making my own eyes glow gold and white. "But I've learned a few tricks and that includes locking down my mind to all influences. Including, apparently, yours."

"Well," Lucifer drawled, "that is a clever little trick. Not quite sure about the glowing eyes though... that is my bit." He suddenly reached out and began to finger my jacket. "Hmmm... looks like one of mine. Steal this as well as the eye thing from me?"

I tensed at the way he was grabbing my clothes, knowing that from that angle he could easily switch to hauling me up by my shirt and holding me off the ground. And while I did have Gleipnir at the ready, as well as a few others tricks, I wasn't for sure how I'd do against Lucifer Morningstar. Especially with Chloe not around. Yes, there were cops around and none of them recognized him, and I had my friends and most likely Selene… but I really didn't want to risk it.

"While I did steal it I got it from another dimension I got sucked into. A very horrible one where morality was flipped. Good was evil and evil was good. I doubt you get your suits there."

~Meanwhile, on Earth 2~

"I know it doesn't seem much to you, but its distressing for me, Killer," Samael complained to Chloe Decker, the most ruthless crime boss in all of LA. They were in her penthouse, a fire going as Samael paced. "I had that suit custom made for me. Ordered it to be shipped over from Japan and it just disappears?"

"I'm sorry Samael, I really am," Chloe said, though it was clear from her tone that she was a bit annoyed that the angel was complaining about his suit when they were supposed to be focused on taking out that little bitch Noah. He had decided to come back to Earth and kill 2 more of every animal and in the process of doing that had taken out several of her men who had been shaking down the LA zoo. THAT made is personal for Chloe. "Tell you what, I'll buy you all sorts of pretty things, pretty bird." She wiggled her finger as she slowly spread her legs. "But you have to earn it…"

~MC~MC~MC~

"And before you say a word," I continued on, "I am not going back to Earth-2. I had enough of Aiden Order for a lifetime." I gave a shudder. "Do you have any idea what it's like to deal with someone who looks exactly like you who wants to fuck around with you and your friends?" Lucifer opened his mouth but I added, "Okay, not exactly like me… his faced was scarred."

Lucifer snapped his jaw shut.

"What?"

"…you only saw up to me saving Baby Charlie?"

"Uh huh."

"…are you taking the piss out of me?"

"What?"

"Hey!" someone called out, though thankfully it wasn't rude or angry. Just getting our attention. The man was at once someone I would say was forgettable in the best possible way. Average but… perfect average. No flaws, no quirks. At least physically. And that wasn't a complaint, as he was a handsome man with short hair and a face that was the right mix of round and lean. A bit like a Ken doll, in my opinion. "I'm Detective Corbett. Sorry for the delay but I need to ask you both a few questions."

"Of course," I said, glad for anything that would get me out of the awkward conversation with Lucifer.

"Happy to assist, Carl," Lucifer said.

Corbett frowned at that. "Carol, actually." He squinted his eyes a little, and I glanced at Lucifer, wondering if Corbett was someone from a latter season that I hadn't met. Lucifer seemed to know him. "So, Mr. Chaos-"

"You actually went with the name Chaos," Lucifer said, cutting Corbett off. "A bit on the noise there, isn't it?"

"You want to get into names here, LUCIFER?"

That made Corbett perk up… only to suddenly shake his head. Whatever Lucifer had done to hide himself was powerful mojo, that was for sure. "Mr. Chaos. We were told you were here for the event?"

"Technically it wasn't in my honor but it was only being thrown because I was here," I said. "I'm the board of directors for KaibaCorp. And yes, I mean I'm the board. As in sole member."

"Oh… oh," Corbett suddenly looked a bit more worried about that and I got it; I'd basically been like one of those celebs who scream, "Do you know who I am!?" after getting pulled over for speeding. Except they did know and knew that it was going to result in a lot of problems. But before I could assure him everything was fine Corbett got himself back onto solid footing and said, "Were you in charge of the guest list?"

"Not in the slightest," I stated. "I was kind of a last minute addition when Seto Kaiba found out the party was being held here. He's underage."

"Right… right," Corbett stated. "And you never met the victim?"

"Don't even know who was killed."

"So please," Lucifer said with a smirk, "feel free to provide those details. I might be able to help."

Corbett frowned at that but then shrugged, clearing deciding that it didn't hurt to tell us that. "He's Paul Logan."

I stared at Corbett.

"…of the Logan Brothers?"

"I have no idea what that means," I said, looking at Lucifer to see if he had any idea but he looked just as confused as I was.

"Neither do I, though I have the excuse of being in Hell for a while."

"They are internet influencers," Corbett said and Lucifer and I both groaned at that. "Uh… anyway, Paul Logan was invited here due to his Duel Monster videos."

"Still not meaning much to me," I said even as Lucifer pulled out his phone and typed away.

Corbett was clearly surprised at that. "I would have thought you of all people would know of the Logan Brothers."

"My uncle owns CCN. We do old school media."

"Which is going the way of the dinosaurs," Lucifer stated. "Still, I suppose in this case I can't blame you for your disgust, Chaos-" and the way he said that made it clear he wasn't referring to my last name, "-as it does appear that their form of entertainment is… well, I suppose it is a good thing I am no longer seeking to punish souls as this would have given me a lot of inspiration."

He held out his phone for me to see the video of two men in the late 20s, possibly 30s, clearly brothers, playing Duel Monsters. Or, as the title of the video called it, "Extreme Duel Monsters" which mostly meant that when a monster was destroyed it got thrown into a blender… which the loser would then have to drink. Lucifer swiped to another video and I saw the dead man grinning as he shook his younger brother.

"Okay, so I know you've been asking for a big meal, since you couldn't eat for the last three days due to losing our Syncro Challenge!" Paul Logan declared as the shaky cam followed them into a kitchen. "But don't worry… I have something special for you now that your fasting is over!" His brother looked a bit pale but was keeping it together… until they entered the kitchen and Paul waved at a burger bun that was filled with Hungry Burger trading cards. "Go on man, eat up!"

"I think I've seen enough to not mourn his death," I muttered.

"So you admit you killed him," Lucifer said. "Great, wonderful, I suppose it's off to jail for you unless you want to just pop away and disappear-"

"I didn't kill him," I snapped. "I was with you the entire time, remember?"

"A likely story!" Lucifer declared.

I shot him a cocky little smirk. "Lucifer… where exactly was I when the body was discovered?"

Lucifer pressed his lips together, clearly not wanting to answer.

"Well?"

"You… were here at Lux."

"With?"

"Your little goddess girlfriend."

"And who else was seated at the table?"

There was a beat.

"Me! You were with me. Fine fine, you didn't kill the annoyed little twit!"

Corbett held up his hand. "Actually I'm the one that's supposed to determine that. And I haven't yet."

I looked over at the detective, swallowing up my annoyance at that. It wouldn't do any of us any good if I got mad at him. Especially when my most recent history with the police involved them stabbing me and me blowing up malls. "Am I a suspect, Detective?"

"No, not yet. But right now we are just trying to determine things."

"I have bodyguards who can put me no where near the body, along with my… associate here."

"I am the bouncer kicking you out," Lucifer complained. "I think its time you got on a plane and went as far away as possible-"

"Oh no, he can't do that," Corbett stated.

"Pardon?" Lucifer said, surprised.

"He's not a suspect yet but he could be. As such he can't leave town until we clear him."

Lucifer sputtered at that. "But… he is a dangerous man! An interdimensional traveler who is seeking to alter the fate of this world!"

Corbett stared at the two of us. "Listen, I don't care if he's a scientologist, he can't leave."

"Hey!" I snapped, offended. But Corbett just handed me his card and went off to talk with Mai. "So, does that whole "Tell people the truth about the celestial makeup of the universe" ever fucking not cause problems? Because from what I've seen-"

"Enough out of you. I don't care what that man says YOU need to leave. Because when you leave I can go back to Hell and not risk destroying everything that matters."

"I am still trying to wrap my head around the idea that you volunteered to go back to Hell because someone claiming to be your daughter from the future forced you to."

"She wasn't claiming, she was. Is… will be." Lucifer let out a huff, flapping his arms at his side. "We are not discussing this. We are getting you out of here before you alter that future."

"The future where you aren't a part of your daughter's life?" I asked. Utterly dry and deadpan, with no emotion, I said, "Oh no, how could I ever be so evil?"

"I'm glad you are asking that question, now come along." He moved to grab me but I darted out of the way. "Please don't make me chase you. I only play tag if it's the strip version."

"Listen, I'm not leaving this universe," I told him. "And I'm not trying to alter your history or future or whatever, no matter how fucking stupid and depressing it sounds. I've already got one fandom that I am screwing around with. Two if you count me messing up the Avengers Universe a few hours ago before I ended up here. I just want to get through this Filler Arc Bullshit and be on my way, okay?"

"And you can do that outside of-"

"Lucifer?"

Both of us froze, turning as one towards the entrance of LUX… and the sight of Chloe Decker standing there, hands pressed to her mouth, tears gathering in her eyes.

"Detective…"

I licked my lips. This… wasn't my story. "We're staying at Lux in one of the suites. We… we can talk tomorrow about this." Lucifer didn't say a word as I backed away.

Their reunion had been smiles and tears.

Smiles because it had been far too long since she'd seen the love of her life. Her partner. And he was back with her. Tears because she knew it couldn't last. That they couldn't be together. That he would have to leave her again.

They had retreated to the penthouse, which had remained the same since he'd left, if a bit more dusty. Not that either of them had minded. They'd been too focused on holding onto each other, to the point that they had barely gotten out of the elevator and were currently sitting on the floor beside it, holding each other close. It wasn't sex either of them desired, though Chloe wouldn't have minded that in the slightest. No… it was just being able to hold each other that mattered to her.

Lucifer had sent a quick text to Amenadiel to try and figure out why the Notice-Me-Not spell ('Not a spell!' had been his first response) hadn't worked on Chloe or Chaos' little friends, as apparently the bodyguards knew who he was too. Chloe was most likely unaffected due to Rory, Amenadiel had reasoned. Mothers and babies tended to share things with each other so apparently immunity to the spell had been given to his partner. For the latter he had no clue though Lucifer was willing to bet it had something to do with the Chaos.

"He's… a what now?" Chloe asked.

"A Chaos," Lucifer said with a teasing smile, running his fingers through her hair. "Come now, Detective, what are they teaching children in schools if you don't know what a Chaos is?"

"Considering that Sunday School teaches us that the Devil is evil I'm not going to take stock in anything we might be taught." She snuggled up close to him.

"Right," Lucifer said to her. She could tell he was pleased with that, the fact that she accepted that all of humanity was wrong about him. That she saw him as the good person that he was. "So… a Chaos is a traveler from another world."

"Because there are alternate worlds now."

"Well, not 'now'. Always have been. It can be a bugger traveling to them if you don't know what to do. Some universes can do it easily enough, others have problems. Our universe, for example, I believed only had one being that could travel to other realms: Gabriel. And the only object that could do it isn't here on Earth, not anymore. I had to use Azrael's Blade in order to tear open a portal to one to send my Mother to one."

"Right," Chloe said, shaking her head. "I forgot about that. Your Mom and Dad… they are in another universe."

"Retired and happy, from what I hear," Lucifer said; Gabriel was flying to them often to give them updates. "For some people, like Gabriel, it is incredibly easy to travel through the different realities. But its also dangerous because you never know what you will change."

Chloe nodded. This Chaos… Edwin Chaos… apparently was different from just a normal dimensional traveler. He was the 'embodiment of the primordial chaos', whatever that meant. Lucifer had been vague which Chloe took to mean he had no idea. 'But he also has knowledge of events… of our lives. Because for him it was a TV show.' She tried to wrap her mind around the idea that in Edwin Chaos' original world she was an actress playing the role of Chloe Decker. She wondered if there was a universe where Hot Tub High School was real and her character was now older. An adult. What had Bonnie done with her life? Was she still flashing her breasts and looking for meaningless sex? Or had she matured and grown? Did she have a family? Kids and a husband?

She shook her head. That didn't matter.

"And that's why you came here?" Chloe asked. "That's why you returned to Earth."

"Chaoses can be dangerous," Lucifer said. "Amenadiel said a Baby Chaos destroyed an entire planet. And yes, it was a literal baby. Named Damien, apparently… because that name hasn't already haunted me…"

"But… there are good ones?"

"Yes," Lucifer admitted. "But I'm not taking the risk."

"But you did risk coming up here," Chloe said. "The Time Loop-"

"Is handled," Lucifer assured her. "Amenadiel has had some of our siblings do a bit of mojo on the tower. So long as I remain in it only celestials and immortals me will be able to realize I'm… well… me." He gave a cheeky little smile at that. "And you, of course."

Chloe though wilted at that. "Oh… oh, I was hoping Trixie could see you. She… she misses you."

She hated that she had to bring him down and depress him like that. She saw at once his smile fall at the mention of her eldest daughter. "Right… even if we did alter the spell to include her… it would be too big of a risk. Rory thought I disappeared August 4th. If Trixie let slip I was here after that it would raise too many questions."

"You have a third brother?" Chloe suggested. "Bichael?"

"That is a HORRIBLE name," Lucifer said, teasing her. He sighed, kissing her head and drawing her close. "At least we have this. I will be around until I get rid of the Chaos."

"And he's stuck here at least until this murder is solved."

"Be like old times. Except I can't leave Lux and you aren't investigating this. So… nothing like old times." He huffed at that.

Chloe smiled. "Its fine, Lucifer. It is. This is… more than I could hope for." She curled her fingers around his own. "Now… I'll have to leave soon, since I left Trixie with your brothers and sisters and I still need to talk with Carol, but we have a bit of time. Tell me about your work, okay?"

She smiled as he began to discuss in excited tones the work he was doing in Hell. The souls he was helping to move on from their guilt. It warmed her heart to hear him so happy. So passionate.

'I wish though… I could hear this every day,' she thought sadly, a hand going to her belly.

After about ten minutes, just as Lucifer was talking about helping a father who regretted how he'd treated his gay son, her phone rang.

"Probably Trixie ready to go," she said softly. "I promise… I'll take some time off and we can be together here. Make the most of this."

"Maybe the only good thing the Chaos is for," Lucifer said as Chloe answered her phone.

"Decker," she said only to blink when she heard the Commissioner on the other line.

"You… are so weird," Mai said as she watched her boyfriend step into the shower. He was wearing just his undershirt and his underwear, socks laying just outside of the tub as he turned on the water and began to run his feet under the spray.

"I'm hygienic," Edwin argued. "Just because you like your feet stinking like an Albanian Field Wench-"

"An Albanian Field Wench?" Mai said as she leaned in the doorway, one eyebrow raised. She was still dressed up, waiting for Edwin to get done so she could see about getting ready for bed. It did annoy her at some times that in order to be her glamorous self she had to do her hair and makeup… but on the other hand it delighted her to no end that Edwin preferred her casual as could be. Actually pouted if she "wasted time" glamming up.

"Lucifer reference," Edwin informed her.

"Yes, because we're in a TV show you watched."

"Technically I've always been in a tv show I watched," Edwin teased her and Mai shook her head at that; sometimes she forgot Edwin wasn't from this world. "Only it seems like we're past the series finale. Lucifer stuck in hell forever, Chloe forced to raise their daughter alone… I mean sure, they might meet when she dies but that… god, fuck those writers."

"You want to change things, don't you?" Mai said as Edwin got out of the shower and began to dry off his feet.

He let out a sigh at that. "Not sure HOW I would… after all, this is time travel, the Devil, and stupid melodrama bullshit. But if I could…" He scoffed. "Yeah, not happening. Lucifer wants us gone because he got clued in that I am a Chaos-" And Mai really needed to do some research on that and find out what that was and what it meant for her boyfriend, "-so I doubt he is-"

Edwin's phone rang.

"Troy, speaker," Edwin called out. "Hello?"

"Chaos," Kaiba said, his voice cutting through the bathroom, "I heard about the murder at the party."

"I had nothing to do with it."

"I know that, you dolt," Kaiba growled gruffly. "But it doesn't change the fact that this is a bad look for KaibaCorp. We can't have dead bodies popping up at our events. You need to fix this."

"…the Millennium Key can do a lot of things but resurrection is-"

"Spare me your delusions about magic," Kaiba said, cutting him off. "I want this settled now. I want the headlines to be that KaibaCorp helped solve this murder, not stood by while it happened. I've already put in the word to get you in place. Make it quick."

"Make-?" Edwin frowned as Kaiba hung up. "Okay, any idea what the fuck that was about?"

Mai shrugged only for a knock on the suite's door to ring out through the quiet. Edwin quickly grabbed his pajama pants and moved towards the door, calling forth Gleipnir as he did so, Mai moved behind him, tense and ready… only to blink when she saw Lucifer Morningstar and the cop he had disappeared with standing there, both looking annoyed but resigned.

"Edwin Chaos and Mai Valentine?" the woman said. "I am Lt. Chloe Decker… and per orders of the Commissioner of the LAPD… you have been requested to consult on the murder of Paul Logan… which I will now be handling."

All four of them stared at each other.

"…well… fuck," Edwin, Mai, Lucifer, and Chloe all muttered.
