Hello everyone, this was supposed to come out days ago but I have had a very long few days and was unable to upload anything.
Moment of silence for those lost in Hurricane Helene.
Please enjoy this story.
And now a Brief look at the Adventures of Doctor Ogron
Earth-200000
Asgard
Finally, after months of planning and preparing it was now time. The TVA was a pathetic shell of its former self, revenge was worthless to her now. The timelines were now free and flowing restored to their rightful place and one of those happens to be hers or it would be if there wasn't a little imposter living her life, the life that should rightfully be hers.
She had it all worked out, her memories were actuate to a T. She even had a potion she would use to deage herself so that it would be like no time passed at all since her life was stolen away. So why, oh why was she having trouble with the last step?
Standing over that little imposter, the younger variant was completely helpless against her older self who was aiming a charged staff, ready for the kill. It was so easy, just do it. Ignore her terrified expression and take back your life.
'What you doing? Monstrous, won't be able to live with yourself!'
'Shut up'
'I've been where you are, it's not a good feeling.'
'I'm not weak like you'
'This plan, this decision. You truly any different?"
'I said be quiet!'
'No better than the TVA.'
'ENOUGH'
Looking at her other self's face, so many bad memories coming to the surface. The TVA stealing her away, so scared, so alone, so helpless. Sylvie the younger noticed something different about the scary woman, the stoic facade starting to crack. Eventually a dark and harry hand gently pushed down the specter while seven mechanical appendages formed a shield around the girl.
Those two, the annoying ones that got in her way and only made things difficult despite their claims of wanting to help. A few hours ago she would have done anything to get away from them but now, she was so tired. She dropped her scepter, the full weight of Sylvie's actions came crashing down. She leaned into the Dcotor's arm and broke, crying bitter tears. Nine sadly watched as the Doctor gently hugged the poor woman, providing comfort to her for the first time in years.
The Grimm
Cave
There was a time when she thought that the darkness was the worst the multiverse could offer, why did she have to be wrong. She was running faster than she'd ever run before, the wall of white was consuming everything.
Even the darkness was not spared, being just as helpless as any other being, shapeshifting into many of its screaming victims as it was finally destroyed. Still there was no time to dwell on that, she had to get away. She was getting tired and soon she could not keep up. She had to stop for an ill advised short break when suddenly a bright white light shone on her.
Pibby looked up, almost blinded, what was it now? Whatever it was, it started lifting her off the ground like one of those classic alien abductions. Pibby panicked, she tried to grab on to something, anything but it was too late.
As she was about to enter the light the last thing she saw was the darkness, still screaming and thrashing as the Anti-Matter wave obliterated it.
Pibby woke up, startled. She did what she did every day when she woke up these days, check on BunBun. She looked to her left and to her relief BunBun was still there, sleeping peacefully in another sleeping bag.
She let out the breath she didn't know she was holding and softly stroked BunBun's sleeping face. She closed her eyes and remembered her arrival in the Grimm.
"AHHHHH!" She screamed as she fell into yet another new Earth. This happened to her a lot but the means of arriving to a new world was different this time. Still she was here and went through the motions, looked around in her new surroundings.
"Hello?" That voice, it almost sounded like…
"Is someone there?" No, no. She would not be fooled, not again. She closed her eye and did her best to ignore the sound of approaching footsteps.
"Pibby?" This was not BunBun. It couldn't be, Pibby kept her eye closed and counted to ten to dispel the illusion. But when she opened her eye, she was shocked. His eyes, they were completely normal. "BunBun?"
There were hugs and tears and while it was quickly discovered that they weren't the Pibby and BunBun they knew, they were still close enough.
They both charged a lot, the Darkness did irreparable damage to both of them. Pibby lost her left eye and arm, she replaced the latter with a robot limb. BunBun, he had to replace his right ear with a prosthetic similar to Pibby's arm and his face, his cheeks. She wished she never had to know of Glasgow smiles.
BunBun stirred awake and yawned. "Morning."
"Morning. Any dreams BunBun?"
"No dreams this time, thankfully. Nothing but boring sleep." BunBun and Pibby smiled each other, it felt good to be together again and while this place will never feel like home to them they at least have each other
They packed away their supplies and bags, BunBun put on his poncho and made sure his laser pistols were armed and ready. Pibby sheathed her sword and the two took each other by the hand and held on tight. This was always how they traveled nowadays, almost as if they were afraid one of them would disappear if they let go.
Unbeknownst to them as they left the cave they had an observer. From behind a distant rock a transparent rotting corpse looked at them with hunger. "Finally, good food." His ghost white eyes followed the duo, but before he could chase and eat them the mysterious zombie completely disappeared, he would not spread the gospel today.
BunBun's stomach growled. "Hey, we forgot to have breakfast."
"Yeah I'm pretty hungry myself." At those words, Pibby was startled by a very familiar but obnoxious song.
Sylvie Burgers!
What will we eat today?
Sylvie Burgers!
There's no other way
"Sylvie Burgers!" BunBun shouted excitedly, everyone in the Grimm loves a Sylvie Burger and when that song played it usually meant there was a Sylvie restaurant nearby. The song was even accompanied by a holographic chibi version of Sylvie herself, pointing to the direction of the restaurant.
BunBun ran to the restaurant dragging Pibby with him. Pibby enjoyed a Sylvie Burger as much as anyone else but she really REALLY hated that song.
Later down the road
"Optimus Prime?"
"Met one of him, one of the most amazing moments of my life. What about Lucky Luke? He taught me how to shoot."
"No, never encountered one of him. How about…" And that's how the game usually went with them. Comparing and contrasting the various places and people they visit on their different travels. Sometimes they encounter different versions of the same individual but most of the time their fight against the Darkness took them to very different worlds. Not that it mattered anymore as according to fellow survivors of the Darkness that monster was arrogant enough to believe it could withstand the Antimatter waves, it got completely wiped out because of its hubris.
"Hey look." The game came to a stop when BunBun pointed out rising smoke in the distance. Pibby and BunBun looked at each other, they could ignore it all, look the other way and pretend they saw nothing but no, they're both better than that.
It was a bit of a journey but they eventually made it and what they found at the village was…bleak. It was nothing but scorched ruins and charred remains. The sad thing of course was how little the presence of dead bodies affected the both of them, a tragic reminder that they'll never be the innocent children they once were.
"What do you think happened here Pibby?"
"Hopefully just a fire that got out of control. Let's go look for supplies."
They walked deeper into the town, still holding hands. They came to an abandoned supply store with a collapsed doorway. "Hey, there might still be some good food in there BunBun."
"But only…I can fit in there." BunBun said with trepidation. The two friends looked down at their clasped hands, to let go for even one minute filled both of them with fear as if they would lose each other again. "It … it will only be a few seconds. We'll…we'll be alright."
With Pibby's encouragement BunBun slowly let go and crawled inside the store. BunBun got up and dusted himself off but when he looked forward he froze in shock. There was a pile of bodies in front, all of them with disturbingly familiar smiles carved in their flesh. BunBun looked behind the bodies and his panic levels increased when he saw the graffiti.
"HAHAHAHA" The painted laughter, the familiar laughter, he knew it, he never wanted to hear it again. He rubbed his scared cheeks, he could feel the cold metal tear through his flesh, hear his awful awful laugh. He needed to get out. He went back out and ran to Pibby.
Pibby knew something was wrong when BunBun returned with no food and doubly so when he ran up to her and clung to her tight. "BunBun?" Pibby rubbed his back in an attempt to comfort. "BunBun, what's wrong?"
"We have to get out of here. Please I … I don't want to be here, we shouldn't have come."
Pibby desperately wanted to know what spooked BunBun this badly but such questions will have to wait, being here was clearly destressing BunBun. Before she could do anything they heard manic giggling. Slowly turning around she saw a silhouette of a young hunched over woman in red prison clothes twitching and swaying.
"Hehehe, bout time you got here. I burnt this village three days ago waiting for someone to find me. But now that I look at you you're not who I wanted. Hm, oh well new toys for me I guess hehehe."
Pibby's eyebrow raised, the voice sounded somewhat familiar but the tone was off. "Azula?" The woman looked back, confused. "Azula? Who's- oh wait, that's me. I always thought my name sounded like the Spanish word for blue. It's getting harder and harder to remember these days. My mind is like a fog now when it comes to everything before the white wave. Ehh, nothing remarkable about my old life anyways."
"Old life?" Pibby started to slowly walk away, Azula had always been dangerous but something about this version was even more off putting.
"Yes, old life." This new Azula stepped into the light. Pibby was shocked to see her skin white as a ghost with green hair and red lips. "It took me a long time to realize it but Azula is dead, my friends. You can call me Joker."
BunBun hugged Pibby harder as the Joker's hands materialized fire but she was ready for this. As Joker shot flames at Pibby she swiftly blocked with her sword and used the cover to escape. "WHAT?!" Joker was surprised to see Pibby retreating rather than her burnt corpse, but she soon smiled again. "So you're not completely useless, good."
Pibby was running as fast as she could, not even bothering to look back as she heard the flames Joker used to launch herself in the air. Expecting this Pibby rolled out of the way as the Joker landed across her. "Go!" Pibby shouted to BunBun, getting the message the little rabbit let go and ran for cover.
Joker shot lightning at Pibby but the girl was able to block it with her metal arm and even absorbed the electricity. Pibby redirected the lightning to a wall behind Joker, who got out of the way as it collapsed. "You're not the first Azula I fought."
"Maybe but I'm not an Azula anymore, I'm a Joker!" Joker made a series of wild jabs and burning punches at Pibby who had a hard time dogging them. Pibby swung her sword, managing to cut the Joker's skin but nothing serious. A stalemate neither one could overpower the other.
BunBun hid behind some debris, hugging himself frightened. He was feeling disappointment with himself too, he once stared down the Terrible Zodin, a much more dangerous opponent than any version of the Joker and all he can do is hide like a coward. Unfortunately his cover was blown when Pibby unintentionally threw Joker to his hiding spot.
BunBun froze when Joker spit out some dirt. "Shouldn't have wasted all my toys on this stupid tow-" The two locked eyes at each other, Joker seeing BunBun's cheeks for the first time. "Interesting. COME HERE!" She grabbed BunBun by the leg and spun around just as Pibby was about to bring down fist apron her.
Pibby comprehended BunBun's presence just as Joker used him as a living bat and knocked her to the ground. Joker was quick to stomp on Pibby's head and keep her pinned down while she still held a struggling BunBun by the leg. "LET HIM GO NOW!"
"Hmm," Joker thought to herself, what started as another failed attempt to attract Him was quickly turning out to be one of the best days she's had since coming here, the way that Pibby demanded the rabbit's release was giving her a lot of interesting ideas. She held BunBun by the scrufff of his poncho as she rubbed her thumb on his scars, she recognized her own handiwork.
"Tell me something, the other me who did this, did he tell you our saying?"
BunBun nodded, he was beginning to cry. "One Bad Day."
"Good," Joker smiled, "that's all it takes, just One Bad Day." She brought up her hand now sparking with electricity. "I want you to know that your friend down there, under my foot, is about to have a really bad day. Feel free to scream as loud as you can." She slowly about to cover BunBun's face with her still sparkling hand as Pibby became desperate to free herself.
"Hehehehehe, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH- *WHAM* HAK" Out of nowhere someone whacked the Joker's head with a giant wooden mallet, freeing Pibby and forcing her to let BunBun go.
BunBun landed on Pibby and the two held each other tight. Joker soothed her bruised and saw her assailant. "Ty Lee." she growled.
"It's Harley." The woman replied, indeed she looked nothing like Ty Lee. A yellow and black form fitting jester costume with a ruff and white clown makeup. "You say ketchup, I say catsup, it doesn't matter. In the end you and your "sisterhood" are all traitors. Ungrateful b***** after all we did for you!"
Harley paid no attention to the Joker's words, just walked up to her and put a gun on her head. "You and the rest of your kind are a waste of life. A virus in the multiverse, all of us will be better off if you all just die."
Harley pulled back the hammer and almost fired. "Too close!" Joker shouted, slicing the gun in half with a pictorially hot flame. Joker kicked Harley back with both her legs and jumped back up. Joker grinned as she had torches in both of her hands.
Harley would have resumed the fight but one look at those frightened children and she knew they had to get out of here. Quickly she grabbed a fist full of dirt and threw it into the Joker's eyes. "AGRH, YOU LITTLE B***!" With the Joker distracted, Harley took the children under her arms and ran to her nearby motorcycle.
Dropping the children in the sidecar, Harley revved up and speeded away with Pibby and BunBun. Joker could have easily caught up with them with her firebending but she had a different idea. "I need some toys, and a patsy."
Pibby and BunBun huddled together, safe for now. "I'm taking you two somewhere safe to rest a bit." Harley spoke, never taking her eye off the road. "Let me tell you something about the Jokers. Something that they can never accept: One Bad Day is a load of bullcrap."
The Harleen Quinzel Hyena Sanctuary
Deep in the fields there was a clearing. A large fence surrounded the area where a pack of African Hyenas lounged about walking, sitting, sleeping, the little ones playing. They all perked up when Harley entered the enclosure, carrying fresh meat. "Here you go my dears. Eat up!" Harley smiled, when the others told her about this little getaway she had her doubts. But she had to admit there was something about the little darlings that had her quickly attached.
She headed back to the two story red and black house, she would be a poor host indeed to keep her guests waiting. Walking through the hallways she was surprised to see Pibby looking at two hung pictures. "What ya looking at?"
"Just, um, wondering why you have a random picture of Superman and Christian Bale." Answered Pibby.
Harley knelt beside Pibby and smiled fondly at the pictures. "They're reminders, encouragement. These two are proof that it might be rare but it's possible for Bruce to recover and leave Batman behind. He just needs the right help."
Harley stood up and took Pibby's hand. "Come on, let's go have some dinner. I bet your friend made something truly special." They entered the kitchen and BunBun had volunteered to fix up some dinner.
"Eat up." He handed out some delicious (to rabbits) carrot soup. He loved it though Pibby found it a bit bland, but considering what just happened he deserved his favorite meal. The three ate silently, BunBun looked at his reflection on the soup, his metal ear and scars stood out even more to him.
He remembered when he first had the opportunity to share some of his famous soup. That taller rabbit was quite the character. "Mmm, that was the best thing I've had in months, kid. *SLURP* I owe ya big time." He looked at Pibby, when they first reunited he thought it was the mother of all coincidences, but now he's been thinking. 'Did you bring us together Bugs?'
"So, BunBun was it?" Harley spoke up. "I hope you don't mind. You don't don't have to answer if you feel uncomfortable but your scars are they the work of … him?"
BunBun looked down, depressed. "I'm sorry if that was…" Harley tried to apologize.
"No no. It's fine." BunBun remembered something Harley said earlier. "Hey, what did you mean about One More Day being, uh, well, uh?"
"Bullcrap." Harley chuckled.
"Y-Yeah, that."
Harley took a deep breath and leaned back. "Ahh yes, One Bad Day: the philosophy that all Jokers of the multiverse carry and espouse. The belief that the only thing preventing you and me from becoming like the Joker is one truly awful day. *sigh* What a pathetic excuse, the truth is that everyone has had bad days, truly awful days where we feel like complete crap or nothing goes our way. It's clear to me that whoever the Joker was before his acid bath they were already sick and twisted. They just don't want to admit that they are responsible. It wasn't the world that made them this way, it was them, it's always been them."
Pibby absorbed her words, thinking about the Azula she knew from before. "On a lighter note," Dr Quinzel smiled pleasantly, "feel free to stay as much as you want then after I can take you to the nearest town, lovely people of all backgrounds and origins living together in harmony."
"But what if the Joker finds us here while we sleep?" Asked Pibby.
"Oh, don't worry about her. She wouldn't dare enter here, no one will ever threaten our safe place again." Pibby and BunBun shuddered as the warm friendly psychiatrist was replaced by a darker more sinister figure.
"Well, I'll show you to your rooms when we're done. I made the beds extra nice and comfy for you." And just like that the bubbly Harley was back, the best friends ate in silence after that.
The Next day on the dirt roads
"Disco girl coming through your world! It's true-" Once again Harley and the children were riding on a motorcycle, Harley put on a catchy song to sing along to as they passed by a beautiful mountain, this joyful mood however will not last.
Standing high on a nearby cliff was the Joker, now dressed in a purple business suit, and another square shaped figure. "Remember, keep Ty Lee away but the children are mine. Burn her, kill her, or even date her, I don't care what as long as she's distracted."
"With pleasure Joker, with pleasure." And with that the Joker pulled out a wind up chattering teeth and twisted the mechanism. The teeth started chomping and laughing and she dropped it in the bike's path. The teeth exploded as soon as the trio approached, sending them flying.
Just as Pibby and BunBun were about to hit the ground, Joker swooped in and grabbed the children, using a jetpack to fly a good distance away.
Harley was not so lucky, crashing to the ground hard. She was disoriented but could still hear the approaching squeaky footsteps.
"Dr Harleen Quinzel," Her vision cleared to see a living talking kitchen sponge wearing a suit just like the late Firebug. "You'll thank me later." She rolled out of the way as the sponge shot two burning flames from the tubes under his wrists, safe to say this probably was an alternate Firebug.
Harley took cover behind a rock as Firebug stalked by. "When this is over and you see the beauty of the flame I'll make you a nice delicious krabby patty. My flames add a little extra crunch to them."
Harley ran out as soon as Firebug's back was turned and attempted to bash his head open with a rock. Harley was surprised to see that all she really did was crack his goggles, Firebug just absorbed her blows.
"Bahahahahahaha." Firebug laughed mockingly at her as he reshaped and backhanded her with surprising strength. Harley closed her eyes as Firebug aimed his flamethrower at her but all that came out was a hiss. Firebug looked at his arm disapprovingly. "She must have taken the rest of my fuel to power her jetpack. Why did I think it was a good idea to trust a Joker?"
Harley tried to get away while Firebug was distracted but he grabbed on to her with surprising strength. "There's more than one way a sponge can kill." He reshaped his body into a serpent like form and began to construct around her. "I can believe the other SpongeBobs of the multiverse don't take advantage of our natural abilities."
Harley struggled to breathe as Firebug looked directly into her eyes. "Joker told me all about you. You think those children will still look up to you if they knew what you did back on your Earth, what you do to the Harleys that don't leave their Jokers. You think that friend of yours kept her mouth shut? That nice cop you were seeing, she must feel nothing but disgust at you now."
To her credit Harley looked ashamed. "The only difference between you and me is that I don't pretend to be sane." Though still struggling to breathe, Harley returned Firebug's gaze. "Maybe but at least I try to use my insanity to make life better for others."
Freeing her arm Harley ripped her necklace off and smashed the pendant. A shocked Firebug turned back into a square, recognizing the device she had. "Your Earth's still alive?!"
A sound of jets was heard behind Firebug followed buy a thud and the Sponge was electrocuted into unconsciousness. {DISPLACED DETECTED.} It was one of the infamous Grimm robots, one of the models that resembled a bird. Harley and the unconscious Firebug were soon surrounded. {DO NOT BE ALARMED. YOU WILL BE RETURNED TO YOUR EARTH OF ORIGIN MOMENTARILY.}
Harley sighed, she didn't want to go home this quickly but it was too late now. She wasn't worried about the hyenas, one of her many sisters was planning to take over for her tomorrow so they'll be alright, but what about the children? The Grimm robots only cared about the displaced. She looked past the Grimm robots and saw a familiar silhouette, one with a cape and pointy eared cowl. She mouthed 'save them' and to her astonishment he appeared to nod and disappeared.
Harley smiled contently. They'll be alright.
Elsewhere and earlier
The Joker flew the kids far away with the jet pack until she ran out of fuel and had a ruff landing. They rolled across the dirt Pibby and BunBun quickly recovered and shakingly got up to a fighting stance. The Joker too got up and attempted to turn the jetpack back on.
The jetpack only let out a few studders and coughs before falling apart into pieces. Joker tskd. "Word of advice kids, never buy a jetpack from people with TVs for heads." Joker got out a knife which she quickly covered in fire. She made it a point to smile directly at BunBun.
"I…I…" BunBun grew terrified of the possibility of re-entering the Joker's care. "Get behind me, I'll protect you." Pibby said and she and the Joker began their fight.
It was truly something to behold. Both sides going at each other with neither having a clear advantage, Pibby blocking Joker's fire with her metal arm but unable to land a solid hit until finally grabbing the clown in a chokehold. Joker however made a show of choking and gagging all to make Pibby drop her guard.
Pibby felt something attached to her arm. *tick tick tick tick tick* *DIIIIIIIIING* It was some sort of device that looked like an old alarm clock. It deactivated her arm and made it go limp, freeing the Joker. Wasting no time Joker threw Pibby off and poked her in the eyes like Moe Howard.
Joker jumped over Pibby while she was disoriented. "PIBBY!" Pibby recovered just in time to see Joker kick the frightened BunBun off the cliff side.
Time slowed down. Pibby could do nothing as she watched BunBun fall to his death. Joker smiled that wicked smile and Pibby's body started to twitch in anger. "Aww, poor little Bunny rabbit. Too weak and pathetic, honestly he should have died sooner, you only delayed the inevitable."
With that Pibby growled and screamed and she pounced on the Joker. While she could have easily stopped this savage and brutal attack the former princess let it happen, laughing at her supposed success.
Pibby brought blow after blow after blow, even her still flesh arm hit hard. Joker just continued to laugh more each time Pibby hit her. "Come on! Beat me till your knuckles bleed. Make me suffer! Really hurt me!" Each laugh and taunt increased the power Pibby put into her fists just like the Joker wanted. Eventually Pibby got tired and stopped, leaving the Joker bloody and bruised with a few broken teeth. Despite all of this the Joker still smiled.
"One … more … thing. You know you want to." Pibby just looked down this the most resentful look she could muster and spat in her face. Pibby than calmly got up and walked away. The Joker was confused. "What-where are you going? You don't leave a job unfinished do you? Think about how this look in your work performance!"
Pibby stopped, if she was still angry she did a remarkable job hiding it. "Harley was right, One Bad Day is a stupid philosophy. Do you know how many bad days I've had? Everyone's had bad days and some like me had some really bad days. I don't think I've even a completely good day sence my Earth was destroyed. But you know how many ordinary people ended up like you because of bad days? It's a lot smaller than you think! I meet tons of people like me, all of them had truly awful days and the only ones that ended up like you were already wrong and angry at the world to begin with!"
Unbeknownst to both of them someone else was listening to this speech, hanging from the cliff thanks to a nearby branch. As he listened more and more to Pibby he gained a more determined look.
"If you were anything like the Azula I knew you were never the picture of sanity. There was always something wrong with you even before whatever accident gave you that skin and hair. You all just don't want to accept that it wasn't the world or society that made you this, like Harley said, it's you, it always has been you."
Joker just stood there, her face expressionless. No bad jokes, no terrible puns, not even a small chuckle. "You're dead." She finally said, her hands sparking with electricity. Pibby braced herself for another round but before anyone could do anything a voice called out. "Hey!"
Someone mated to climb back up. "That was a cheap trick, you never gave me chance to fight back." BunBun was still a bundle of nerves on the inside but for now he managed to steel himself, he had to, for Pibby. Speaking of which Pibby could barely believe what she was seeing, he was alive. Joker just scoffed. "So the little rabbit finally got some spine. Alright," she put her hand behind her back, ready to cook him to death. "Go ahead, shoot me!"
Joker smiled, the bunny will be dead as soon as he grabbed his gun. BunBun stood still, ready to fire at any moment. If anyone could see above him they'd be treated to the sight of his own shadow moving on its own. The shadow cracked his neck and knuckles, ready to fire.
And then, almost faster than one can see, BunBun aimed and fired. The shadow was once again too slow, he took off his poncho and stomped on it then stormed off. That's what happens when your teacher is Lucky Luke.
Joker for her part didn't feel a thing, at first. "Ha you mi-" Whatever the Joker was about to say was stoped by the immense sudden pain in her shoulder. She fell down to her knees and clutched her shoulder, screaming. She was shocked to see her shoulder was injured and bleeding. "WHAT DID YOU JUST DO YOU LITTLE SH-"
BunBun jumped on Joker's head and ran to Pibby. The two hugged each other tight afraid they would lose each other again. "Don't ever do that again!"
"I won't. I promise."
"Oh how touching, makes me want to vomit!" Joker snarled and took out her gun. "I've had enough of you two! Say goodbye!" Just as the Joker was about to fire something sharp and black sliced the gun in half.
"No," Joker let out. "It can't be. I looked for him EVERYWHERE!" But one look at the bat shaped projectile and she knew it was him. The one she tried to attract by attacking that village.
A dark shadow fell over the three of them and the last thing Joker saw before being kicked off the cliff was a three toed foot. It was a literal green anthropomorphic dinosaur in a bat costume. The allosaurus stood up to his full height and turned around. Pibby and Bun Bun were still reeling from this strange Batman variant who just pointed to a direction. "I'll keep her busy. Keep going straight and you'll eventually reach the settlement, now GO!"
"Right," Pibby took BunBun's hand, "got it! Come on let's go!"
"Wait, you understood that?"
Later
They ran away from the battle until they could run no more and had to slow down. "Pibby, what about Harley?"
"I don't know," Pibby sighed, "maybe she's already there and waiting for us. All we can do right now is hope. What about you, are you ok?"
BunBun looked down, rubbing his scared cheeks. "Let's be honest neither of us are ok. We haven't been for a long time ever since our worlds were destroyed."
Pibby grunted to herself, remembering the past. "Do you remember when we first met? Like actually first met?"
BunBun thought back, how could he ever forget?
The two embraced each other, crying and sobbing hard. They both believed they would never see each other again. Eventually the crying stopped and their minds cleared, with it came certain revelations.
They stopped hugging but still held each other by the shoulders. Both of them looked sad and spoke at the same time. "You're not my BunBun/Pibby are you?"
They completely separated, knowing in their hearts that their real friends were still and truly dead. BunBun layed down and screamed, angry at the multiverse for this cruel trick. Pibby held back her own tears and let out a deep breath, her BunBun or not she didn't like seeing him this way.
"Hey," BunBun looked up to see Pibby's sad smiling face. ",we may not be the friends we lost but that doesn't mean we can't form something new. Do … you… wanna come with me?"
BunBun looked at Pibby outreached hand. BunBun smiled softly, he could never hate that face. "I'd like that." He took Pibby's hand and never let go.
Pibby and BunBun looked at their still clapped hands, that was a promise they made together: never again would they be alone. "Look" Pibby saw something from the counter of her eye and pointed to the lights in the distance. "There it is, we made it!"
The two friends walked off to the town feeling optimistic. They may not be ok or even just fine but as long as they had each other it was only a matter of time before they will be.
Down in the forest
As Joker laid there on the ground BatWalker approached her and picked up her unconscious body. He took a few sniffs and any doubts he had to her identity disappeared, she may have been human but her sent was definitely that of Jokerzard.
He growled and noticed a twitch on the corner of her mouth. Thinking quietly he threw Joker away from him just as she opened her eyes. Landing on her feet she quickly sent a stream of flames at him but he blocked her using his cape.
Eventually she ceased and BatWalker took a good look at her. "Your eyes," He roared out, "pure evil. Just like his."
"Man, I have no idea what you just said but I'll assume it was something insulting." Joker laughed to herself as she and BatWalker got ready to charge. The two ran towards each other, Joker laughing and BatWalker roaring and as Joker's flame and BatWalker's fist we're about to make contact Joker new that her life felt right again.
Well I hope the wait was worth it.
The beginning segment with Doctor Ogron and companions is gonna be a recurring segment revealing bits of backstory of the characters while also showing how the Grimm came to be in its current state.
If you're wondering where's Pibby's other two friends (Alloy Boy and Melira) are it's because this isn't actually the "cannon" Pibby from the Adult Swim shot but a different version that also encountered the Darkness. The canon version a Pibby and her friends are probably still out there in the multiverse somewhere, wondering why they haven't see the Darkness in awhile. (It's been completely destroyed by the anti-matter waves, the multiverse doesn't need another massive threat.)
The Joker/Azula fusion is based on Mr Multiverse's Avatar/Batman fanfiction idea. The SpongeBob/Firebug character is a reference to Tom Kenny voicing Firebug in the recent Batman: Caped Crusader show. I might populate the Grimm with more Nickelodeon/Batman villains composites for BatWalker to fight later.
Speaking of which BatWalker comes from Daniel Warren Johnson's Jurassic League mini which is FREAKING AWESOME. Definitely check it out.
The seemingly random moment with the zombie is meant to be foreshadowing the next story. Keep on the lookout for that.
