It felt odd, having the child stay for this long. He wasn't sure how to feel about having the kid around for a whole week. Logan began to worry as he began to notice the child was standing on the porch, silently watching him chop wood for the fireplace. The cold wind blew as he quietly repeatedly cutting up logs into sections, a pile growing beside him while the child quietly watched. The peaceful motions continued as the child silently watched.
After a few more logs were split, Logan began to notice the child as he turned to them.
"Hey kid?"
"Hmm?"
He gently motioned to the pile of firewood.
"Can you lift?"
The kid nodded as they got up and began to pick up the firewood, carrying it inside while Logan smiled.
"Don't throw your back out, kiddo!"
The child nodded as they set the wood down next to the fireplace, swiftly returning as Logan quickly refilled the pile. They continued the process until a black car rolled up, an old bald man in a wheelchair emerging from the car as he approached, a man stepping out of the car and making a pathway for the older man in the snow. Logan smiled softly as he rested the axe on his shoulder just as the child returned.
"Looks like we got visitors..."
The child grew scared as they went inside, Logan quietly watching them as a frown grew.
"...huh...wonder what scared them..."
The professor rolled up to Logan as he smiled.
"I see you have a little friend."
"Yeah, they were wandering late at night in the woods. Took 'em in to keep them from dying in the cold...they don't talk much. But they gave me their name."
Xavier raised an eyebrow.
"They gave you their name?"
"Y/N...their name is Y/N."
Xavier whispered the name softly as he smiled.
"They trust you dearly...I can tell."
"I know, Chuck...I know."
They began to laugh, Logan's name for the professor making the air feel lighter as smiles grew on their faces. After awhile, Logan cleared his throat.
"Alright. I know you weren't here just for chit chat. What's going on?"
Xavier sighed as his smile fell, the atmosphere growing heavy as the professor began to speak.
"That child...you took in...they're no ordinary child."
"...you saying that kid's a mutant? Chuck, I could've told you that."
"Do you know their mutation?"
"...no."
Xavier chuckled.
"You're losing your edge, Logan. Remember when you were able to sniff out a mutant?"
"Cut the shit, Chuck. What's the kid got?"
"The child has telekinesis...however, the mutation isn't natural."
"Someone gave it to them?"
"Presistly."
Logan turned to look at the house as the gears began to turn.
"...who?"
The professor paused before the man spun around, fury slowly forming in Logan's eyes.
"Fucking who, Chuck?!"
"...Logan...I'm so sorry..."
This made him snap, grabbing Xavier's shirt as he jerked him.
"WHO DID IT, CHUCK?! WHO FUCKING DID IT?!!"
...
...
..
.
"...Striker..."
