When all that is left is Pain.
Creation was once beautiful.
Existence beyond human imagination and marvels that brought peace to the Soul.
The Garden of Eden was home to such marvels, to such beauty. To peace, among all life that existed.
For a time, there was peace. But then came the Betrayal.
Infidelity and Lies had cracked Adam's soul, but it had refused to shatter.
But the Fall was an entirely different matter. To protect the one he loved, and to ensure that she was not alone, that he wasn't alone, he partook of the fruit.
And Adam's soul splintered, as Corruption seeped into it, filling the cracks, waiting for a chance to destroy him.
But Adam remained strong in the face of Mortality and Sin, and in the end, proved himself enough to earn his place in the Heavens with his family and Sin had no power over him anymore.
But now he found himself Falling.
Deep into the Pit.
Adam was dead, slain by Angelic Steel in the process of his duties.
And his soul, now exposed to Corruption, was at the mercy of that which had no mercy.
"Poor Adam, now, after all these years…you are mine."
The formerly angelic choir, now chained within her hands, began to sing the despair of the souls.
Perse-cution…of the…masses
Sacred…blessings…count for…nothing…
Outside the remains of the Hazbin Hotel, all the participants of the battle stopped as they heard the haunting music echo throughout all of Hell.
Adam's body twitched, his blood turning a horrible mix of red and purple, his skin warping as the Corruption that had plagued his soul since the Fall finally grew root.
Oh~! God! Give us your protection!
Let no blame lie at the innocents who have prayed.
It was like a rot was festering in him as his body bulged and twisted, an insidious purple glow emanating from his wings as they lost their luster.
If Your high praise is all we have,
Let us not be without You.
And with those final words, Adam's body melted into the ground of Hell, forever consumed by it.
Roo hummed as she manipulated the fabric of Hell.
If she wanted to cause the maximum amount of devastation.
"Another few DNA strands here, mutation capabilities there…a dash of radiation, hm hm hm~ ah…there we go…now, we just need an environment for him to grow and…fester."
And all of Pride looked in awe as the spikes that formerly surrounded them receded before filling up with an Ocean.
The perfect trap for those worthless sinners.
And Roo cackled as she unleashed Adam's soul into the corruption, seeing it boil and corrode into the monster that it would become.
"Oh, what fun!"
Pain, it was all he knew, all that he could feel, all that he was.
He wasn't supposed to be alive! Why was he alive!?
Wasn't it enough?
Hadn't he given enough?
Adam's soul writhed in agony as the Corruption filled it, consuming all that was Holy and leaving behind nothing more than pain and chaos.
He could feel his body warping again, every single cell exploding as his very soul was alight with flame.
PLEASE!
MERCY!
HAVE MERCY ON ME!
SERA! SERAPHIEL! MOTHER! HELP ME!
LUTE!
LUTE!
LU-!
A giant tail burst out of the water outside of Pride, calling the attention to all of the sinners.
It seemed to be some kind of creature, though no one could really get close to it as what appeared to be blood in the water was hiding it from view.
However, despite the oddity, nobody from Pride honestly cared about it.
After all, in a realm where death, pain and sin were constants, who cared about the tail of something that wasn't bothering them.
They didn't know just what exactly was waiting for them.
Charlie couldn't help but be worried. Although everyone else had put the battle behind them, the fact that Adam's body had…melted like that was a horrifying thought.
It made her think that something was wrong.
The very nature of Adam's death had felt off and she couldn't help but feel that something was coming.
Something devastating.
"Charlie! There's some kind of creature on the news!" Vaggie called out. "I think you want to see this!"
Charlie walked over to the large TV that her father had installed, everyone watching in silent confusion and just a little horror.
A giant creature had made its way out of the sea, plowing through streets. It was amphibious in nature, though had no forelimbs, merely stubs. It had an elongated neck with gills that were flapping around in the air. Distorted spines on its back and an empty gaze in its wide, blank eyes as it moved forward with a gaping mouth.
It looked like…it was in pain and was merely moving around due to instinct.
Charlie blanched however as she saw the blood that suddenly pooled beneath the creature with each step.
Blood that was a familiar color.
"Adam?"
"ADAM!?" The other residents cried out.
"Princess, what are you talkin' about?" Angel Dust asked.
"Adam's body was never recovered, it…melted into the ground. And look at the color of that blood…the color of its eyes, the gold marks on its skin and spines…"
"So what…Adam's body was…mutated by something?" Vaggie asked.
"Maybe…"
"An ironic fate for our former enemy, wouldn't you say?" Alastor said with a sadistic chuckle. "The pride of the angels, now nothing more than a rowdy beast."
"Alastor…" Charlie sighed before shaking her head.
She couldn't get it out of her mind however, the sheer satisfaction that she could feel from everyone in the room.
"Very well then, shall we go, Charlie?"
Charlie blinked in surprise as she looked at Alastor.
"What?"
"Your face is an open book, my dear. You wish to see him up close, don't you?"
Charlie gulped and nodded and Alastor merely smiled before teleporting them all away in shadow.
They reappeared on top of a building that was far away enough that they could see the carnage without the danger being nearby.
Charlie shuddered as she saw the large beast merely trudge along, its empty gaze staring into nothing yet she still found herself making eye contact with it.
The worst part is that she could…feel its aura, could sense the sheer amount of agony it was under.
It was breaking her heart, though Adam was her enemy even she wouldn't have wished this upon him. She could have handled him somehow being reborn as a sinner, a poetic justice in her eyes, but this was torture, agony beyond anything she'd seen.
"I'm sorry." she whispered.
The creature hobbled on top of an apartment building before its weight snapped the support pillars, causing it and the creature to topple over.
It continued to crawl through the city, smashing apart cars and sweeping the streets with its enormous head.
It then paused before hobbling onto its hind feet, standing straight up, its body twitching as it desperately gasped for air that would not come.
With nary a grunt, it collapsed to the ground, motionless.
Charlie sighed.
At least its pain was over.
Alastor sighed ruefully as well.
"Oh well, the entertainment could only last for so long."
With a shudder however, it began to rise. Its feet became digitigrade as its skin rippled grotesquely, the gills shrinking and melding into its skin. Arms formed from its body, bloodily splitting from its main body.
It grew in size and stature until it was taller than the buildings next to it.
It wrenched its head back, its maw opening widely as it roared into the skies.
Everyone stared in shock and horror as the mutation completed meanwhile some sinners had finally managed to gather weapons and were readying to open fire on the creature.
Charlie gasped as she saw the creature's body glow red, visible heat waves emanating from it before it suddenly roared once more and fled.
Barreling through another building, it paid no heed to the sinners as it ran for the water.
Charlie gulped as she saw the trail of destruction left behind and clenched her fists as the others began to cheer to what they assumed was Adam fleeing in fear.
She needed to send a message to Heaven.
"Why would you tell us this?" The hologram of Sera narrowed her eyes at Charlie, who'd managed to get another meeting with Heaven inside the Embassy.
"...Look…Adam was my enemy…but even he doesn't deserve this…I can sense it, the agony he's under, whatever changed him is making him live a life of pain and suffering! And he's destroying everything in Hell-"
"Enough!" Sera interrupted her, a few of her eyes opening.
Charlie slightly wilted as she saw the tormented expression on her face.
"Haven't you done enough? You slew our angels and killed Adam. The Treaty is broken, and Heaven was content to be left alone to grieve…and now you tell us…" Charlie's eyes widened as she saw Sera's eyes begin to fill with tears. "That he now lives an existence of suffering and agony? Because of the machinations of Hell?"
Charlie was silent.
"Isn't it enough that you have proved us wrong? Now you torment us with this cruelty?"
"What? What are you talking about?"
Sera sighed painfully.
"The one known as Sir Pentious wishes you his regards…you may continue your hotel, Charlie Morningstar…but Heaven will no longer interact with Hell…we have lost enough."
"But Adam-"
"If that creature you speak of exists…then it is no longer the Adam we knew and loved…merely an abomination warped by Sin and Decay…it falls on your head now, Morningstar."
With that, Sera cut the call.
And Charlie slumped in defeat.
Actions had consequences and the sweet taste of victory was marred by the bitter feeling of regret.
Upon returning from the Embassy, Charlie had encountered even more news.
It seemed that Adam's body either had traces of angelic steel in it or some kind of holy energy since sinners that had been directly crushed by him were not returning.
And now things were even more hectic.
If there was one thing that united sinners, it was fear.
Somehow, some crazy general that had become an overlord had managed to get tanks, helicopters and other war machines from somewhere and had prepared an entire offensive, even commissioning Carmilla for ammunition.
She couldn't help but feel dread, as if it wasn't going to be enough.
Which didn't make sense, after all, angelic steel already worked once…why wouldn't it work again?
There seemed to be a tense atmosphere in Hell, as if people were finally realizing that they were reaping the fruits of their actions.
During this time, a few of the more…fanatical sinners that existed in Hell proclaimed to have given the creature a name…after all, Adam didn't really fit it, did it?
Gojira…the wrathful god incarnate according to some translations.
Pain…that was all it knew.
There was no relief in its existence.
There was no purpose to its life.
Yet it knew but one thing…that something was calling to him in the forsaken land. A sheer unending desire to end its pain by the only way it knew how.
Destruction.
"CHARLIE! HE'S BACK!"
Charlie ran to the main hall back to the TV and stared in horror at the abomination being shown.
Over a hundred feet tall and now standing fully upright, Gojira was a creature with tough black skin that was cracked as if it was constantly bleeding. Its tail was enormous, longer than it was tall and its face was warped again,
For once, sinners actually worked together as they unleashed a barrage of weaponry against the creature, though even with the various things they had, nothing was working.
Helicopters, tanks, artillery, jets, all manner of weaponry that had been modified and created to fight it had proved fruitless.
It still trudged forward towards the center of Pride.
Towards the Embassy.
Want…home…no more pain…
Want…no more…
Ants in the way…
destroy…them…
Unknown to anyone, the Portal from Heaven had opened and a lone angel had floated through.
Lute sadly gazed at her lost love, having been told by Sera as to his fate.
He truly was a dreadful creature…lost in agony and sin.
But she took a sort of sick pleasure, in knowing that he was causing all this havoc in Hell.
Knowing that in the end, he was still him.
As the equivalent of night began to fall upon Hell, the last attack was launched on Gojira, special bombs that would pierce its skin before detonating.
They worked.
Gojira screamed out, his roar echoing across the entire ring before he hunched over, his back glowing a sinister purple.
And as Gojira opened his maw, his jaw splitting in two as the back of his throat lit up, Lute began to sing.
If I die…in this world?
Who will know? Something of me?
"Charlie! Gojira's back seems to be glowing, they don't know what for!"
Charlie grimaced as she looked at the glowing skyline from the hotel.
"What are you doing, Adam?"
I am lost, no one knows.
Black smoke erupted from his mouth, quickly covering the city in its fog, sinners coughing as they tried to escape.
There's no trace…
A protective film covered his eyes as the fog ignited.
…of my yearning.
With explosive force, the entirety of the fog turned into fire, erasing sinners and destroying the city. Buildings burst into flame as anything in the streets was swept away.
If I die in this world
(But I must carry on)
Who will know something of me?
(Nothing worse can befall)
The fire began to concentrate, turning into the same purple color as before becoming a beam that cut through everything in its path.
I am lost, no one knows
(All my fears, all my tears)
There's no trace of my yearning
(Tell my heart there's a hole)
"Charlie…reports are coming in…one of the bombers got destroyed…" Vaggie said as she looked out the window, putting her phone down."
I wear a void
Not even hope
A downward slope
Is all I see
Charlie could only stare in horror and grief.
"I'm sorry…"
I wear a void
(As long as breath comes from my mouth)
Not even hope
(I may yet stand the slightest chance)
A downward slope
(A shaft of light is all I need)
Is all I see
(To cease the darkness killing me)
The beam cut off as Gojira hunched over again, more bombs falling on him but with a stomp, beams of light burst out of his spines, swiping through them all and destroying the bombers.
With great fury, Gojira opened his mouth once more, his atomic beam slicing through buildings until it reached the very fabric of Hell.
And pierced through it.
In the resulting carnage, the entirety of Creation was on fire as the energy within Gojira fell dormant and he finally went to sleep.
Reports were coming in, millions upon millions were dead in Hell, permanently killed by whatever holy energy still remained within Adam.
And whatever that beam was had pierced through Pride and had hit all the rings in Hell.
Charlie was with her friends in the Hotel. Apparently, Gojira was also emitting radiation, something that she didn't honestly know about but was dangerous enough that multiple people were telling her to stay inside, especially since it was causing something called…radiation sickness.
Sinners were wasting away in agony before dying their second death.
It was horrifying to watch.
A sudden slam of the doors caught everyone's attention as something crashed through.
Lucifer groaned as he crashed against the back wall before screaming as a spear suddenly pinned him to it.
"DAD!"
"Charlie, don't!"
A sudden pressure exerted itself on all of them as a glowing figure floated through the doors.
Vested in glowing white armor, Sera was in all of her heavenly glory as she glared at the group.
"I stood idly by as you slayed our kin, Morningstars. Stood by as you killed our Gardener. But to DARE attack Heaven!"
Shadowy tendrils tried to attack Sera from behind but with a wave of her hand they were eviscerated.
In the blink of an eye, Sera had Alastor's throat in her hand, choking the life out of him as she slammed him against a wall.
"I know not how you managed to get those purple beams to pierce through to us…but rest assured, it will not happen again. Even if I must destroy every soul that exists within this wretched realm."
"Wait, Sera! We didn't do that! It was Adam!"
The mention of that name made Sera pause as she turned to glare at Charlie who quailed but managed to look her in the eyes.
'That's too many eyes…'
"Explain," Sera demanded as she tossed Alastor to the side, all of her eyes staring Charlie down.
Not as long as the last one, but the biggest thing about Shin Godzilla to me is the political aspect and that's pretty much down the drain when it comes to Hell.
I just thought it'd add a bit more tragedy to do Shin this time cause basically it's the effects of the Fall just multiplied and corrupting his body.
Next chapter will be Kenpachi Adam
Let me know who you think should be Nozarashi/Yachiru.
Cause ngl, I'm thinking Emily, but I'm willing to hear other options.
