Ha ha! Let the new and final arc start out with chaos, also go and say hi to one of the only OC characters in this story! Queen Carinatus.
The jungle was ablaze, dragons running all around panicking while also fighting for their lives.
A large female RainWing watched all of this as she held a NightWing by the throat with her tail.
"Jambu, get the dragonets deeper into the forest," She said, quickly jerking her tail, slamming the NightWing against the tree, "We don't need anymore to be captured."
Jambu nodded his head, flying off.
Her head turned back to the NightWing in her grip, "Last warning, where is the Night Kingdom?" she loosened her tail so the NightWing could breathe.
"Go fuck you-"
CRACK!
The RainWing quickly jerked her tail, snapping the NightWings throat. Dropping the NightWing to the forest floor.
She took a deep breath, sighing.
"Where is mom at?" she asked.
A RainWing appeared at her side, "My queen, Grandeur is holding a wave of NightWings off on the south side of the jungle."
The queen pointed at the messenger, "Get her more dragons to support her, I'll start leading a countercharge here, we also need some dragons to fight these fires."
Her orders were cut off when she saw a shadow flying above the trees.
Another push
"Get going, you need to get the message out!" the RainWing said.
"Yes, Queen Carinatus," the messenger nodded their head, flying off.
Carinatus widened her stance, opening her jaw wide. Going on the defensive.
The shadows above the trees were almost now upon her.
She flexed her fangs out.
CRASH!
The NightWings above her were tackled to the ground, a brown mass above them showing it to be a MudWing.
"Excuse me, but you wouldn't happen to know where Queen Carinatus is do you?" Clay asked politely like he hadn't just knocked out three dragons.
Why would he want to know that, is he an enemy?
"I am Queen Carinatus..." she said, hesitating.
Clay smiled relieved, "Oh, well that's good," He said relieved, "Me and my friends came here to warn you about this but we were a bit... late."
Carinatus sighed, Oh great more strangers.
"You and your friends?" she asked.
"Yes Your Majesty, my name is Clay, Starflight, and-" he was cut off as the Rainforest seemed to come to life, the fighting seemingly coming to a halt, vines shooting out of the ground, wrapping around the dragons under Clay tying them up.
"And Glory," Clay said with a smile.
"What, what's going on?" Carinatus said, looking around her. Trying to figure out what was happening.
Clay stood up off the NightWings walking forwards, bowing down to the Queen.
"Allow me to introduce ourselves, we are the Dragonets of Destiny and we are here to help."
Carinatus was confused, not knowing how to respond. A strange group of dragons showed up, claiming they were here to help the moment a raid started.
She shook her head, "This is no place for even trained dragonets, you need to leave!" she ordered.
A dragon came out of the sky, showing it to be a NightWing, "Your majesty, I don't think you understand," Starflight said, landing on the jungle floor.
Carinatus went to charge him but was stopped when more vines shot out of the ground wrapping around her talons, stopping her."
"We swear we are here to help, the NightWings are our enemy as well," Glory said, walking into the clearing.
Carinatus's head was spinning in confusion. Who were these strange dragonets and why did they choose now of all times to show themselves?
"And how are you going to be able to help me?" she asked the three.
The vines untangled themselves from her, slithering back to glory as if they were snakes, wrapping around her body like armor.
She noticed the same thing was happening to the MudWing, stone came up from the ground, molding itself around the MudWing like armor.
"What is this?"
Glory came forwards, "Every one of us have powers, like animus but it's a very specific power."
"Animus..." Carinatus muttered. She knew the powers of an animus was not to be trifled with.
"So you are able to control plants and you stone?" she asked the two.
They both nodded their heads.
Her head turned to the NightWing with a hard look, "And you?"
Starflight bowed to the Queen, "I am able to control dragons through their shadows and I am able to read minds."
Carinatus scoffed, "Lies, NightWings can't read Minds."
Starflight stood back up, "You are lying as well your majesty, you know a dragon that can called Moon."
She gasped, there were VERY few that knew of her...
"What am I thinking of now?" she tested him.
"That you are supposed to be one of the only dragons that knew of her," Starflight answered.
Her glare slowly morphed to one of unsureness, "You said that you came here to warn us?"
Glory stepped forward, "A friend of mine who is close to Morrowseer, he told me the rumors of an attack."
Carinatus shook her head, "We WILL talk about this later, if you really are here to help and are capable of fighting, then come with me," she said while turning around, "There is a large battle to the south that needs us."
Clay nodded his head, "Wherever you need us."
Carinatus took to the air, the dragonets following behind her. Flying between all the trees and vines like a seasoned veteran, her mind was racing.
Who were these dragonets, how did they have these strange powers, is the NightWing in the group to be trusted, her eyes looked over to the RainWing in the group, Glory was her name.
She looked old enough to be-
Her thoughts were cut off when an explosion went off in the distance.
She sped up, ignoring to see if the dragonets were behind her were keeping up.
She flew into the clearing to see absolute chaos.
Nightwings were wearing armor, covered in black venom that did nothing against the metal coverings. Dragons on both sides lying in the field, dead.
Her own mother, Grandeur was in the middle of the battlefield roaring out orders but was cut off when she was hit in the head by the butt of a spear.
Carinatus ran out into the clearing, tackling the dragon that hit her mother, ripping off his helmet and spraying him right in the eyes.
She quickly looked down at her mother, seeing that she was still breathing. She sighed in relief.
Ignoring the cries of pain, she continued on ahead, charging the next dragon. Not seeing the dragonets behind her, charging along with her.
The battle started to speed up, most of the RainWings freezing at the sight of their leader in such a rage and what was behind her.
Glory was covered in armor made of vines. The vines would peel off her body when she came near any NightWings, whipping them across the head or wrapping around any dragons that came too near.
Clay was covered in his stone armor, ramming dragons left and right. Pushing them out of the way.
There was Starflight, slowly walking out of the clearing like a ghost, every dragon on both sides froze when he neared them.
Then there was their leader, now covered in blood plus her red scales that glowed like a burning fire, staying in front of her mother to protect her.
The battle was raging on, more and more NightWings filling the clearing, until it came to a standstill when a roar filled the air, both sides stopping.
A Large NightWing came from the sky, landing right in front of Carinatus.
Morrowseer
"You..." He growled out, not even looking at the Queen in front of him but at the Dragonets behind her.
Why were they so important?
"Deathbringer should have killed you..." Morrowseer hissed.
Glory walked forward, "He gave it his best shot, shame he failed."
"Indeed..." Morrowseer said neutrally. He looked down at the Queen in front of him, "So we meet at last, Carinatus."
"And you are?" She asked.
He shook his head, "It doesn't matter now, everyone retreat!"
Morrowseer went to turn around but Carinatus cut him off, lunging for his throat.
Something huge rammed her, throwing her into the trees HARD
Carinatus slowly stood up, her head in a daze.
"It's good to see you were finally able to join us, Your Majesty, Battlewinner," Morrowseer said, bowing down to the massive female NightWing.
Carinatus looked up to see the largest NightWing she has ever seen, even towering over Morrowseer.
"It is, it's been decades since I have got to experience the thrill of battle," Battlewinner said nodding.
"It looks like Mastermind's plan worked?" Morrowseer said, noticing the lack of ice coming out of his queen's mouth.
Battlewinner nodded her head, "It hurt like a bitch but it worked."
Carinatus saw vines shoot out of the ground, heading straight for the NightWing queen.
Battlewinner shot her talons forwards, grabbing the vines with a vicious look on her face, jerking the vines forwards. Jerking Glory forwards towards her.
She quickly let go of the vines, using her now free talon to punch Glory, shattering her armor and making her hit the trees across the clearing, knocking her out.
"GLORY!" the MudWing shouted, "Starflight, please capture her!"
Starflight nodded his head, his shadow quickly racing over to the NightWing Queen, joining his to hers.
She didn't even look fazed, "You're joking, you think we didn't figure your power out by now!"
Battlewinner let out a huge fire blast straight into the air, making the shadow disappear along with any shade near them.
"What?" Starflight said in shock, feeling his power leave him.
Battlewinner charged Starflight, lowering her shoulder to hit him, kicking up dirt as she ran, a murderous look on her face.
But a brown blur ran up and took the hit, sending Clay across the clearing as well, knocked out from the hard blow that cracked his armor.
Starflight shivered as he looked away from Clay's knocked-out form, feeling the glare the Queen was giving him. He looked up to see the Queen towering over him.
"Hello, little traitor..."
Starflight cowered, feeling something he hadn't felt since he was a hatchling.
Powerless
