A/N: So here is chapter two of X is 3. As I said before the plot will continue in a similar fashion to the original story but will be a bit slower paced. As you can see the first chapter was much the same as the old fic but we are going to put some more detail into things that I thought could be confusing in the first one. If you want to check out the original unfinished fic its X is 3 by midnightstealth. Enjoy!

Akari opened her eyes the next morning and rolled over to look at her alarm clock. Her eyes jumped out of her head when she realized that school started in 45 minutes. She was going to be late if she didn't leave….now. She grabbed her school bag from the desk chair and hurried to put on her uniform. She ran down the stairs while she fixed her sock and grabbed some toast from the kitchen as she headed to the front door to pull on her shoes. Minutes later she was flying down the street to the train station to get to school on time. She barely made the train and the doors closed behind her right after she stepped on. Akari found an empty seat and plopped down breathing out a sigh of relief, she was not going to be late after all.

Once getting to school Akari quickly changed into her school shoes and rushed off to her least favorite class, math. 'At least I can get it out of the way and then have the rest of the day to focus on subjects that pertain to my area of study,' Akari thought as she arrived at her math class moments before the late bell sounded. She silently took her seat and threw a smile at her seatmate Mitsu when she realized that Yamamoto- sensei was passing out papers which could only mean one thing, they were having a pop quiz on the homework that had been assigned last week.

Akari let her head fall to her desk in exasperation at the thought of having only twenty minutes to complete 10 problems that were similar to the ones that took her the better part of the weekend to complete.

Mitsu chuckled at Akari's antics. She had always been a nice girl but not the most gifted in numbers. He could tell that she had difficulty with the homework over the weekend by her appearance. Her brown hair was up in a messy bun that more resembled a bird's nest than actual hair, her uniform was only half tucked in, her necktie was askew and her blue eyes were ringed with tiredness. He wished that he could help her, but math wasn't his strong suit either and he had the volleyball team championships to worry about, considering he was their captain.

Akari reluctantly took the paper from the teacher and started to work through the problems trying to remember that she needed to apply the formulas she had studied over the weekend to the problems in front of her and not just the memory of random answers. She was halfway through the second problem when the teacher called time on the test. Akari sighed and put down her pencil. The teacher came around to collect the quizzes and his brow furrowed when he saw that Akari had not finished hers. He passed by her and went to the front of the class to begin teaching for the day.

Akari tried to concentrate and take the best notes that she could all the while wondering what Yamamoto- sensei's expression towards her paper meant. The bell finally rang and all the students got up to leave. Akari was just about to exit the room when she heard a voice from behind her.

"Not you Hashimoto-san. I need you to stay back a few moments," Yamamaoto commented her quiz in his hand.

Akari took a deep breath and walked over to the teacher's desk. "What can I do for you Yamamoto-sensei?"

"Your quiz Hashimoto-san. You were not able to finish it. Your grade in this class is egregious at best and I will have to fail you if you can't pass the midterm exam. You have a month to prepare for the exam. I can try to help during office hours but I have the Numerators to coach so I think that it would benefit you to work with a tutor to walk you through the material at a pace that you can understand. I can put a word in at the front office to see if they can find someone to help you," the teacher explained.

"Yes sir, I understand. I would be grateful if you could contact the office to find me a tutor," Akari bowed to Yamamoto wishing that she were good at this horrid subject. "I shall work hard and pass the midterm and final exam with acceptable marks."

"Thank- you Hashimoto- san, you are dismissed," Yamamoto said as he filed away the quizzes for grading later. He had to prepare for the next class to come in and come up with problems for the Numerators.

Akari bowed once again and walked out of the room. She started sprinting when she realized the time. She was going to be late to her next, and favorite, class, archaeology. She did not realize where she was going and soon felt herself collide with something solid. She hit the ground landing on her butt and looked up into a face that she did not expect. It was the same silver-haired boy that she had hit with the eraser in LuLu's. He looked less than pleased to see her.

"I told ya to watch yer surroundings, but you can't seem to get it through your head. First I get hit in the head now you're running in ta me? The hell is wrong with you girl?" The silver haired teen barked at her.

" I-I'm sorry I…." Akari was cut off by a red haired male walking out of a classroom not too far up the hall.

"Geez Niou, how do you always finish the math tests so fast? I mean you handed in your paper fifteen minutes into the period and teacher let you go because you got everything right," The red haired male puffed.

"Cause I'm not stupid like you, fatty," the one called Niou bit back.

"Oi don't call me fatty. Did he run into you?" the redhead asked noticing the girl on the floor for the first time. He bent down and offered his hand to the brown-haired girl on the floor. She took it and he easily pulled her to her feet.

"No I ran into him. I was and still am going to be late to my next class. My math teacher kept me back because he was saying that I need a tutor since I am failing," Akari explained, "I apologize for hitting you in the head the other day and for running into you just now Niou-kun." Akari bowed towards the silver- haired boy hoping that her apology was accepted.

"Just watch yourself. I've gotta go to the office 'bout somethin. I'll catch up with you later Marui," Niou drawled before wandering off.

"Thank you Marui-kun," Akari said looking at the red haired male, "I must be getting to class but I hope you have a good day!"

Marui watched her run off to class. He popped his gum curious about the girl that had managed to piss of Niou.

A/N: So there you have it! Chapter two. As I said this will follow a slightly different path than the original because I felt that one hopped around a lot. I feel like it's pretty transparent what is going to happen next but please tell me what you think so far! Lots of positive vibes ~midnight sensei~
