Tanya

I never took much stock in looking up to the stars at night, how could I even if I did? The night sky was polluted with light from the city I lived in, and I'd have to travel out to the countryside to even see any stars at night; something I would do if given the chance, but I most often stuck to the city to diligently work my way up the corporate ladder. Oh sure, you'd see one or two bright lights in the night sky, but never quite something you'd see if you were out in the countryside with little to no light pollution; I've seen pictures of what the night sky looked like, but never seen it in person.

In my second life, I was granted the chance to see the unbridled sight of the night sky and the milky way that the parallel earth I was born on was within the arms of; during those many nights within the military camps during the war as I and my fellow troops recovered from our recent skirmish, I'd look up and imagine what it be like if I was born during a time in which Earth had reached beyond our solar system and colonized planets for its many humans to live on. I pondered in my mind if I'd have still been a human resource manager, if the set of circumstances would have changed my outlook on life, if my values would be any different…but then I'd realize that'd I'd still be me, regardless.

The urge in any human's life would be the want to live a better life, and the same would still be for me, climbing any corporate ladder to earn a livable wage and relax in the comfort of my home after a well earned day of relaxation; I'd no doubt read whatever books that caught my fancy, and I'd still favor the merits of meritocracy. Afterall, what's better than earning a life of working towards something, and being rewarded for your hard work in return?

Breaking myself out of my idle thoughts as I sat atop the console table of Yellow Diamond…MY Yellow diamond if I need to fit in better in this new life of mine; as I rummaged through whatever inherent system that whatever was fed into my mind somehow, I've come to realize I would now be serving a caste system. I don't know whether to blame Being X, or curse my luck in finding myself in this situation; afterall, it was my choice to follow in the direction of the light I saw in the darkness I was once in after Being X cast aside my soul to whatever empty soulless place I was in.

I felt the ship I was in come to a slight halt as she viewing monitors and space window showed it had arrived to its destination, I blinked in slight awe as I viewed for the first time, in person, an alien world; said alien world however was seemingly cracked into three large sections with a few smaller land pieces, whatever kind of science was at work, gravity seemed to be at the mercy of whatever was keeping the planet from forming back into one piece from the large landmasses gravitational force.

It didn't take much for the common human in my first life to learn how gravity works, and what I saw outside the ship I was on was defying some form of science that humans are able to comprehend. Surrounding the cracked planet were two diagonal rings that encircled the planet; it was quite amazing to see if I wanted to be honest with myself. Never would I have imagined in all my life…er, lives, I'd get to see an alien planet, but the mood was a bit ruined when I realized my given situation I was now.

"Quite the sight, I'd imagine you are thinking." Yellow Diamond spoke up as the ship drew closer to homeworld, the name of the planet I now come to identify it as in whatever seemingly boundless information was being fed into my mind from my gem. I glanced over up at my Diamond…another term I'd need to get acquainted with if I am to survive in this new life of mine. I shut my mouth, after realizing I was gaping in awe at seeing my first alien planet in any of my lives.

With a nod from me as I situated myself to sit upright and face the Diamond that had created the form I inhabit now, I responded with a measured tone of voice. "Yes, it's…quite the sight to behold." I responded with a simple smile back.

It was then Yellow Diamond leaned forward and took to examining me, or more specifically, my gem on my chest; she had her hand and fingers clasping her chin as she examined my gem. "While I have my ship take us to the nearest Pearl Reef facility, Let's see if your powers have stabilized yet…I want you to hold out your hands and begin forming energy." she commanded me with a firm look in her eyes.

Not wanting to create any conflict on my first day alive, and with some hope I wasn't some defect like the programming within my gem fed me info about, I held out both arms and placed my palms facing upwards. Feeling inward within myself, I could feel a well of energized power within me; it was like my second life all over again, except with a few caveats in how I was able to use mana in my second life. Unlike mana, in how it felt like pulling from out of me an intangible-like cloud of gas of some sort, as I pulled the energy from its source, my Citrine gem, it felt like I was working with a circuit board and wires. It was as if I was a sentient A.I. rerouting power through circuits and wires to will my power into existence within the palms and fingers of my being.

In an instance, I watched with a rather bit of morbid curiosity and fascination as I witness myself exude yellow sparks of small lightning that danced between my digits and down through my arm; My eyes trailed down my arms and saw that my light-based construct of a body showed circuit-like lines trail up my arms as I powers my sparks to my fingertips. If I really wanted to be honest with myself in my inner chuunibyou…ugh…, I thought back to my early human childhood days in my first life and when I watched the movie named Return of The Jedi, and how cool it was when the Emperor simply shot lightning out from his fingertips.

Suffice to say, while I kept my cringe to a minimum, most boys in my class would remark and act out the scenes themselves.

And now here I am, the very power at my fingertips as if I was the lovechild of the Emperor…

"Good…very interesting…" Yellow Diamond mused as she leaned forward and entered my view as I watched the Yellow Sparks of lightning dance between my fingers, she smiled in satisfaction at the fruit of my attempts to show what I guess she wanted to see. It was then Yellow Diamond brought her other arm and hand up to show her own yellow lightning dance between her fingers, but on a larger scale and more potent, if what I saw before me was of any indication. "Matches perfectly to the specifications I had in mind for you." Yellow murmured out softly with a smile and ceased giving a demonstration of her own powers, before leaning back on her chair.

Ok…maybe I am the love child of some weird imperial ruler…

Yellow frowned and waved me off, "You can cease now." she instructed with a commanding tone. "Your performance is satisfactory."

Oh, I looked down and noticed I haven't stopped emitting my powers, at a whim, I managed to will my powers to cease and allow my arms to settle back down beside myself as I sat back and glanced once more to the window of the ship I was on. That was almost embarrassing, I was a bit too enraptured with what was going on in that moment.

Yellow Diamond

This was good, the Citrine gem I created from a tiny fragment of myself and my own essence turned out quite well in my own opinion; the power output was acceptable and beyond the perimeters of what I initially calculated. The fact that the Citrine gem managed to be able to output the sheer amount of her own power in comparison to my own, is good, seeing as how I'll be using her as my stand in for operations and military campaigns; While my little Citrine Gem's powers does not measure much to my own, it's still acceptable that she's able to conjure up her own sparks for certain uses I have in mind.

As the ship headed in the direction of the nearest reef to get a suitable pearl for my new Citrine commander gem, I crossed my legs and arms in idle wait while ruminating in my own thoughts. I would occasionally glance at my gems around me, and finally found that their curiosity ceased and stuck to focusing on their own tasks. That was good, although I could still see my Pearl stealing jealous glances at my new Citrine gem as she stood down beside my chair whenever I glanced down at her.

hm…Not sure why she'd exhibiting jealousy, I'm simply keeping the new gem of mine up on my console desk so that I can keep an eye on her, and make sure she's acclimating well to the programs within her gem I've embed within the process of incubating her on one of my colonized planets. No matter, it'll all pass in time after I send my Citrine gem on her first campaign mission, but that's the thing though, what should be her first Trial run? Mayhaps I should put her in charge of advising Pink and her first Colony…afterall, it's within my Citrine's gem's programming to be able to do administrator work, a perfect way to test how well the new gem of mine can handle advisory work, before I send her off to her first campaign to another world to conquer and colonize for me. No…maybe I should just let Pink try and administrate on her own, since it's her first time colonizing her own planet.

I'll never hear the end of it from Blue and White, how I'm that one calling them out for coddling her, and here I am thinking of helping her out so she won't fail.

"My diamond." One of my Nephrite pilots brought me out of my musing, "We are now inbound to the Pearl Reef of Homeworld sector 223." the gem announced. "Estimation Time of Landing is within two minutes."

I uncrossed my arms and legs, and stood up while offering my hand to my new gem to climb on. "Good, come along Pearl." I said, while the Citrine gem looked up at me momentarily, before climbing to sit on my hand, and be allowed down to walk behind me along with my pearl. As I turned around and walked to the exit once the ship landed, I could hear the Pearl of mine and Citrine walk in step behind me.

Orange Pearl

Orange, that was the color I woke up to, as I sat up in my clamshell, the sight of my first gem owner. I smiled as I floated down and bowed before the Citrine Gem my program had imprinted onto, and took to notice that her skin pigment was orange, as was I in a slightly different tone of orange. "Hello!" I announced joyfully, "Allow me to-"

I was about to speak more, but as my vision basked in the sight of my new owner, I noticed we were not alone. Not far in the distance, stood what my program told me was Yellow Diamond, and another Pearl that was yellow as well. "Oh." I said as I kept my bow to my new owner, "This…this is…I don't think my mind can comprehend what to do in this situation!" I remarked with a troubled look.

From my point of view I watched as Yellow Diamond rolled her eyes and marched herself away, "I forgot how irritating a new pearl can be, their basic programming takes a while to set in." she said while she headed down the hallway. "Come outside when you two are finished, Citrine." Yellow Diamond's voice echoed back as she left from sight past the double clam shell doorways.

"..." I stood still as I bowed to my new owner, "uh…as I was saying,...um…" My cheeks lit up in embarrassment as I glanced up at my Citrine commander, however my mouth grew dry as I became speechless while I gazed directly into the citrine gem eyes of my Citrine Commander, she had her arms crossed with a curious expression while she tilted her head a bit.

"Are you able to grasp the concept of assistant?" My Citrine commander asked me, breaking me out of my reverie. "Can you even understand the meaning of what collating means?" she asked in a curious tone.

What? I'm pretty sure I should know…ah yes, combining information together. I nodded slowly as I watched My Citrine commander smiled a rather beatific smile, "Excellent, then we're on the right track to what I have in mind for you, we'll need to make sure you can also understand advanced mathematics, political theory, resources management…"

As my new owner continued to explain a few other things she had in mind for me, I couldn't help but stand up straight at her command as she instructed me to follow her out. Most pearls are given to high aristocrats, going by what my programming is telling me, but it seems like I've been given to one of Yellow's commanding gems of her military…so much information, I wonder what kind of relationship I'll have with my commander, going by my programming memory bank, every aristocratic gem is different in how they treat their pearl.

Going by how my Citrine commander acts, and the position she holds, I can only assume she'll use me as a means to deliver reports, if that's why she asked if I knew what collating means. Suffice to say, the future could have anything in store for me and the commanding Citrine I belong to now.
