Within a large surveillance room that was outfitted with gem equipment on the verge of being outdated with the ever increasing technology level of Gem society, Larnite gems of the Olivine family gem line could be seen sitting at their desks; Each gem was in charge of watching multiple monitors at any given time, but most of the monitors only showed the bare essential places on the planet. Quite a few monitors showed the growing flames that have spread up to the upper levels of the city planet, while others showed gems in a hurry to tend to their duties.
One by one however, each monitor began to go haywire before blacking out and shutting off. As the Larnite Gems began to scramble to fix the situation within the surveillance room, the door to the room slid open to show a several Carnelians with some era 2 Peridots with them; Just as the Larnite gems took notice of the unexpected visitors to their workspace, the Carnelians stepped in with destabilizer rifles in their hands, before opening fire upon the gems within the room. Into each chest of the Larnite gems, a small and sharp progged object was pierced into their chests, before unloading their destabilization power into the gem victims' bodies.
Every Larnite gem's body frazzled as circuit-like lines spread out from the points of impact of the pronged objects that were shot into their chest, before they poofed from the destabilization of their hard-light bodies. Once the coast was clear, one of the Carnelians prompted with a nod to the Peridots to go on ahead in, "Clear." She spoke, while she and the other Carnelians parted for the Peridots to come in and do their duty as part of the infiltration.
As one of the Peridots approached one of the desks, she had her limb enhancer's digits type into the keypad that sat in front of her; after several clicks into the keypad, the Peridot gem had one of her digits inserted into a nearby drive beneath the multiple monitors. A few seconds passed, before every monitor was restored and showed a pristine view of nothing going on. "Sector nine, finished, moving on to the next." She spoke aloud to the other peridots, before moving to the next monitors over, and repeated the process.
This was the same for all of the Peridots as they worked around the clock to hack into the server net of the surveillance room and cameras that might allow any early warning systems to go off whenever one of the gems might come into the crosshairs of any cameras. Speaking of an early warning system, one of the Peridots pondered how well the contingent of gems in charge handling the planetary communication systems were fairing; shrugging the thought off, the Peridot gem continued to hack into the system in front of her, and shut down the surveillance within the train systems of the planet.
Within a Train car on the monorail
An axe blade emitting yellow destabilization energy is seen bisecting it's way down the body of a Chalcedony Quartz Soldier from head and down, said Quartz soldier was facing away from the attack, thus its expression was that of shock as the gem's body split apart and poofed; Standing behind the poofed quartz gem was Skinny Jasper as she lifted her poleaxe weapon, spun it above her body, and gauged her situation, before holding the weapon to her side within the nook of her arm with the axe end facing the floor.
The Quartz soldier she had just bisected, was one of a few more Chalcedony gems within the same train car as her, said quartz soldiers were giving Skinny shocked looks, before charging at her. "Get her!" "You won't get away with that!" were one of the few exclamations yelled throughout the train car as the muscle bound quartz gem soldiers went to attack Skinny Jasper.
On the other hand with Skinny, she allowed herself a confident smirk as she watched how the Chalcedony Soldiers were charging at her with fists raised and poor forms. "You guys really are fresh off the line." She quipped with a snarky tone, and charged forward while whipping her poleaxe around while ducking a punch from the closest quartz soldier. With her knees bent from ducking under the punch, Skinny punished the gem in front of her by swinging her poleaxe up as it buzzed with destabilizing energy. In a diagonal slice through her torso, the Chalcedony gem blinked in shock, before her body poofed and her gem clattered to the ground.
The next two quartz gems that were behind the gem that Skinny poofed, decided to attack together with their left and right fists raised respectively for a double haymaker punch into the skinny Jasper's body. "Don't get cocky!" "Stupid off color, I'll shatter your gem!" the two Chalcedony gems yelled as they swung their fists at Skinny.
Skinny Jasper simply allowed a smirk to continue to be prevalent on her face as she leaped up to and spun her body horizontally to pass her torso between the fists with her skinny body that were aiming for her head and stomach, allowing her slim body to spin while swinging her poleaxe at one quartz soldier and aiming a spin kick at the other. Her poleaxe, with its destabilizer edge, managed to gouge a deep cut into the torso of the gem Jasper spun her poleaxe at, and with a poof a second later, the chalcedony's gem clattered to the ground; the other quartz soldier was more fortunate, as the spin kick that slammed into her face, caused her to simple stumble back and wince in pain and hold her face, momentarily blocking her view of the skinny Jasper.
With the one quartz soldier of the two that came at her with their fists raised remaining, Skinny smirked as she landed with her knees bent, and her hand on the ground as she bounced back into the air to grapple her legs around the other Chalcedony's head; "Mmmhm!" The Quartz soldiers muffled out in surprise, before Skinny twirled her poleaxe around and speared the Chalcedony gem through her head and down; a poof later, Skinny Jasper found herself landing back onto her feet, before hastily dodging out of the way from a barbed club of the last Chalcedony quartz gem.
"Hmm." Skinny observed as she held her weapon up to her chest in a defensive pose as she and the Quartz soldier circled around each other with their weapons at the ready; Skinny Jasper allowed herself to keep an ever prideful smirk up as she faced off the last quartz soldier of the train car. "Well, at least you came prepared." she quipped.
"You won't be so confident after I'm through with you!" The Chalcedony Gem soldier replied, as she went in with her barbed club raised, prompting Skinny to raise her poleaxe up to parry the club aside and attack the gem's torso, only for the Quartz soldier to react in time by moving quickly and block with her barbed club. The Chalcedony soldier flashed a confident smirk at Skinny as she swung her barbed club back in quick succession, prompting Skinny to block and be pushed away from the quartz soldier by the heavy blow. "Nice try! But I'm a cut above the rest of my fellow Chalcedony sisters." she quipped, only for Skinny Jasper to simply smile in amusement at her as they faced each other down.
"Good, it'll make this less boring!" Skinny retorted dryly with a smirk, getting an annoyed reaction out of the Chalcedony gem in the process.
Elsewhere on the train, Corundum and Fayalite could be seen making their way through a train car that had various crates with various cogs and gear pieces; Corundum took note of what was being transported on the train as she and Fayalite walked through the train car, "Huh, isn't this shipment supposed to be the stuff for that factory in disrepair within the outskirts of section G?" she pondered.
Fayalite flipped her hair up to look with her eyes better while walking with Corundum to the end of the train car, "Looks like it." she mused, before letting her hair fringe back down. "Word through the gossip chain however, paints a different picture. I think White Diamond is planning on restructuring the entire planet's systems and buildings, and not just simply removing expired gems off her colony." she remarked with a somber tone.
As the two approached the end of the train car and its exit, Fayalite reached and pulled the exit door open, allowing both gems to see that the next train cars were supply beds with how the train was on a curved rail; strapped and bound atop the train cars were various metal pipes, and just before either of the gems could bother to exit and climb up onto the strapped down pipes, A loud clang echoed above them, followed the sight of a Skinny Jasper being launched across from the top of the roof and down atop the strapped down pipes.
Corundum and Fayalite watched with confusion as a loud sound of footsteps echoed from the rooftop of the train car they were in, promptly followed by the sight of an ordinary and perfectly cut of Chalcedony Quartz soldier gem to leap across from the roof of the train car the two gems were and land across from the Skinny Jasper atop the strapped pipes atop the next train car bed. Just as both Corundum and Fayalite glanced at each other and had thoughts of making a change of plans, the other end of the train car they were in, the door opened up with two other Chalcedony quartz gems.
"Hurry, this way, 5JW went this way!" A quartz soldier said to the chalcedony soldier behind her while her back was turned to Corundum and Fayalite.
While the two gems stood stock still, unsure what to do, the chalcedony soldier that saw them while the other had her back turned towards them, tapped her fellow quartz soldier on the shoulder and pointed at them, "Hey, aren't those gems amongst the list to remove from the planet?" she remarked with a rather dangerous glint of a grin.
"What?" the other quartz soldier said as she turned and allowed her own smirk to form as she began to walk into the train car with her fellow Chalcedony gem soldier. "Oooh yeah! They are! Come on sis." she said while pulling out a broad gem club from out of her gem on her shoulder, "We can't have them here. Can we?"
The other Chalcedony grinned as well as she pulled a spiked gem mace out from her gem on her stomach, "Nah, no hard feelings you two, but your time has expired." she said next as she and her fellow Quartz soldier chuckled darkly as they wielded their respective weapons.
"Cor, can you fight?" Fayalite quickly asked as she new quartz soldiers maneuvered their way through the train car to reach them.
"I can get scrappy, what about you Fay?" Corundum asked as she stuck her hand into her gem, and pulled out two small gloves before placing them on hers and punched her fists into each other with a nervous grin.
Fayalite gulped a bit, before pulling a whip with a spiked ball on its end, out from her gem, "Well, I'm no agate, but I know my ways around a whip." she replied as pulled her whip taut, as she and Corundum steadied themselves for what was to come. "I just never thought I'd be using my whip in combat, other than getting gems back to work." she remarked with a tense tone.
Elsewhere on the planet
Within a communications hub build, manned by more Larnite gems that shared the appearance of peridots but with White and gray shades of color, up in the catwalks above several large hightech gem-styled servers for communications to be transferred from one end of the planet to another, a short stack Carnelian is seen with several Rubies; Their job was simple, wait for ping in their ear pieces that it was time to sabotage the communications. Simple as…
"Hey." Whispered a Ruby while she was crouched and glancing at Carnelian, she had a yellow visor over her eyes, her gem was located on her chest. "What's it like serving under Citrine?" she idly asked with an interested smile and subtle innocent tone.
Carnelian shrugged as she glanced over at the Ruby 'Doc' of the Ruby Squad that came with her, she was crouched down as well, "This is my first mission actually, but she is quite a drill instructor when she hammer in how to properly sneak into a building." Carnelian whispered back, their voices both were unheard by the gems below with how high up they were and the sound of the servers running at full capacity with fans and such.
Ruby 'Navy', who was crouched on the other side of Carnelian, smiled demurely as she expressed her wonder on the subject of Commander Citrine, "I heard, that Commander Citrine once conquered an entire system of rebels in a single decade!" She remarked with an excited but hushed tone.
"Eleven years to be precise, in the eastern quadrant" Carnelian corrected 'Navy' Ruby, as she glanced her way, "Skinny was amongst Commander Citrine's battalion at the time, you can ask her more if you'd like when we're finished on this mission." she whispered.
Ruby 'leggy', had a confused expression while she was crouched beside Ruby 'Navy', "I thought the western quadrant was the one she completed an entire campaign on?" she quietly questioned with an airy tone of confusion.
Beside Ruby 'Leggy', Ruby 'Army' glared at the youngest of the Ruby squad as she crouched beside her, "You idiot! Did you already forget? The Western quadrant campaign was where Commander Citrine had to drop a moon onto the planet to break the colony up!" she admonished the young Ruby gem with a whispered tone.
Crouching beside Ruby 'Doc, Ruby 'Eyeball' lifted her one eyebrow as she glanced in 'Army's' direction and Carnelian, "A bit excessive, isn't that?" she whispered with a pensive look on her face.
Carnelian glanced back over in 'Eyeball's' direction, and nervously smiled, "The planet was a derelict supply colony, used by the rebels, so Commander Citrine made sure to ask Yellow Diamond before proceeding with the plan."
"Ah. That makes sense." Whispered Ruby 'Doc' with a simple smile.
"Yeah! Can't bother to spare a planet when its resources are all spent up!" Added 'Navy' with a demure whisper and excited look.
It was then that each of their earpieces pinged, prompting each and every one of them to pull out small orbs with circuits running along the surface of each orb; they glanced at each other, before nodding and tossed their orbs down to the distant floor below.
Governess Gem Palace
The Pure White Garnet gem could be seen calmly walking to her nearby communications room of her palace, while the mess outside was the least of her concern with how the rabble was revolting against being shipped off her perfect white planet, she needed to contact White Diamond's Pearl and relay that Yellow Diamond's Citrine commander was on her way to interfere with the operations on her planet.
As White Garnet stepped up to a double doorway with its doors closed, she had to manually push the doors open; like the rest of the planet, a lot of its buildings were out of date. "And it would be nice if my Diamond granted me a Pearl!" she grumbled to herself as she walked up to the communications of the rooms, and sighed as she pressed a few buttons to contact homeworld. After waiting a few minutes with her arms crossed, White Garnet furrowed her brow as the connection was taking an awfully long time.
"Grr, Stupid out of date communications!" Governess Garnet spat as she refrained from kicking the modems of her communications room, and clenched her fists down at her sides while impatiently tapped her feet as the screen in front of her showed an image that it was attempting to connect to her desired recipient. After what felt like forever to her in how slow the communications worked, the screen finally did something by changing to a message that said 'Error, planetwide communications are all down, please wait while your nearest planet sends a crew of Peridots to fix your problem.'
As White Garnet had a dumbfounded look on her face, her fists unclenched as she tried to form a coherent sentence. "That-what-how-but…"
Within the office of Governess Garnet where Forsterite could be seen lounging in White Garnet's chair with her feet kicked up onto the desk, the gem smiled excitedly as White Garnet could be heard screaming from down the hall. " A SQUAD OF PERIDOTS? THAT'LL TAKE A WEEK AT LEAST TO GET THE COMMUNICATIONS UP!" she was heard screeching at the top of her lungs.
Forsterite giggled impishly as she glanced to the window where she could see the chaos of the revolt in the far distance, "So that's how Citrine conquered the northern quadrant's rebelion, our assumptions were way off!" she mused with an excited smirk. "Oh Citrine! Your methods are quite interesting!" Forsterite remarked with great interest as she held up a data pad, and wrote into it with a stylus, "Took…communications…down" she worded out with a grin.
Tanya
Gem soldiers and others alike stepped aside as they watched their commander Citrine walk through the hallways of her ship to her private quarters, not far behind her was her Orange Pearl as well who had an upset expression while she held her datapad to her chest while looking down at a peculiar gem with her arms wrapped around her Citrine's leg: That gem was Spinel, as she sniffled while looking up at Citrine's face as she continued to walk while being encumbered by Spinel hooking her arms around her leg.
"I'll do anything, just don't keep saying that Pink is gone! She can't be gone!" Spinel tried to beg Citrine as she promptly lifted herself up and wrapped her legs around Citrine's legs to get a full limb hug around the commander's leg, tears threatened to break out the corner of her eyes as Commander Citrine continued to walk with the gem wrapped around her leg. "I won't play any more childish games! Yeah That's it! She'll come back if I act more mature, right?...waahh!" she bawled as Citrine stopped and pried her off her legs, and held her up at eye level.
"You can bargain all you want, Spinel." Tanya told her with an attempt to give a somber look on her part, "But it won't remove the fact that Pink was witnessed to be shattered." she informed the spinel gem, making sure to place emphasis that she said 'witnessed', as eyewitness accounts are iffy at best with how era one gems are able to shape shift and possibly orchestrate the whole mess.
The whole ordeal surrounding Pink Diamond's shattering was odd at best, and an empire wide conspiracy at worst. Pink Diamond was documented to have been the odd one out, and with how Gem society is enforced by White Diamond's will and to a lesser extent Yellow and Blue Diamond, it's not far of a stretch that the whole event of Pink getting shatter involving a scapegoat and so many other plans could effectively remove a Diamond that had the possibility of changing Gem society.
As Tanya carried a begging and crying Spinel from under her arms and at eye level, 'Begging is another part of the stages of grief, at least she's fast with her emotions.' Tanya thought to herself as she carried Spinel into her room with her Pearl not far behind her. Once Tanya reached her bed in her private quarters, she gently sat the Spinel gem down atop her bed. "Pearl, mind giving Spinel a hug while I tend to a few things at my desk?" Tanya asked with her head turned towards her Pearl who stood beside her.
Pearl looked up at her with a contemplative look, "Are you sure that'll help her?" she asked, over the sound of the sniffling spinel as she wiped her eyes of tears.
"Trust me, it'll help." Tanya sighed with a somber smile, and gestured for Pearl to go ahead.
"If you say so." Orange Pearl Shrugged, before walking over and sitting beside Spinel with her arms open, "Come here…uh…oh!" Pearl was surprised as Spinel immediately dove at her with a teary hug.
"She can't be gone! We didn't get to finish our game!" Spinel continued to blubber out through her crying, desperately trying to bargain for the truth to be a lie.
While her Pearl was busy comforting Spinel, Tanya stepped to her desk and sat at her chair to begin looking through her incoming mail in her tablet, "tch, thirty messages, this'll take a bit." she muttered as she began to read her electronic mail.
