Tenya's eyes focus down on the papers he has to leaf through, before writing down on a few on them, a few employees have been rather late on arriving to work on time; as the Human Resource manager of the Diamond firm, it was up to him to weed out the workers that were not pulling their weight. The business he worked for demanded the utmost diligent workers within the company, and he was no exception; Tenya was lucky enough to get a foot in the door into his position with the help of his Mother's connections into the business, but that didn't mean he could slack off less he disappointed her.
Focusing his eyes momentarily at frame on his desk, it pictured him at graduation with his very strict looking mother standing behind him; Tenya went back to leafing through files of employees, he could reminisce more later after work, right now, he needed to go through a hundred more employee files by the end of the day. The Diamond firm was one of the largest businesses on Earth, and he was just another cog in the ever growing business that he worked for.
A knock on his door prompted him to call the person in, "Enter." he hollered a bit for his voice to be heard through the door as he went through a file of an employee; entering in through the door to his office room, Tenya glanced up to see it was his office assistant, a rather dutiful worker named Amber Pearl. The prim looking female worker smiled as she entered his office with two coffee cups in a Drink Carrier, "Pulling another all nighter again, Tanya?" she amusedly asked as she approached the desk he worked at.
Tanya blinked as the world around her shifted a bit, but the atmosphere and office stayed the same. She accepted the offer of coffee from her office assistant as she reached out and grabbed a coffee cup from the Drink Carrier that Amber carried, "Thank you miss Pearl." she murmured as she took a sip from her coffee cup, and allowed the enriched flavor of the beverage to pass over her tongue and down her throat. Placing her cup of coffee down onto a coaster on her desk, Tanya glanced out her window to see that it was indeed late into the night.
Amber shifted a bit in a shy way, "um, you can just call me Amber, if you'd like." she smiled a bit as she held her own cup of coffee in her own hands after she pulled hers out of the Drink Carrier to hold it and drink from.
Looking back over at her personal assistant, Tanya gave Amber an amused look. "We've been through this miss Pearl, we can drop the formalities when we're off the clock." She chided the helpful worker she's known for the better part of all her years she'd worked for the Diamond Firm.
Amber smiled a bit, "I suppose you're right." she replied with a respectful tone.
Tanya
Blinking her eyes as she woke up from her nap on her bed in her private quarters, Tanya found herself with Spinal clinging to her arm while peacefully sleeping; with a deadpan expression on her face, Tanya glanced over to see Pearl look shyly away with an innocent look. The dream she had herself was fine, and nothing new, it was her mind pretty much mashing all realities of her lifetimes together; it was a weird mashup, yes, but one she accepted by now with how her mind has coped with her gender. Male or Female, she didn't care by now; the body was a body, but her mind was her own.
"Spinel." Tanya said aloud to wake the gem up, only for the spinel gem to begin exaggerating snoring sounds, her eye twitched in annoyance at the gem's behavior. "Spinel, I need to get up." she spoke tersely with a tight smile of aggravation.
Spinel rolled over to lay on her back, but continued to lay horizontally on Tanya's stomach, "Just a few more minutes…" she mumbled out.
It was then that Tanya had enough, and sat herself up while Spinel rolled off and was now laying on her lap, "You can sleep all you want, Spinel, but I need to get back to work." She chided the former Pink Diamond's personal Spinel gem.
Spinel, now having been rolled back onto her stomach as she laid across Tanya's lap, draped her arms and legs across the bed as well; Spinel lifted an eyelid to peek up over at Tanya with a pout, "Come on, it's more fun when I'm with someone." she whined in a dour mood, still coming off from her depression stages.
Tanya then grabbed and pulled Spinel up off of her to place her aside, and stood up from her bed, then stretched a bit even though she didn't need to, she just enjoyed the sensation of the feeling after a good sleep; While Spinel continued to mope a bit on the bed as she draped herself off of the side, Tanya turned to look over at her Pearl, "Pearl, keep Spinel company while I go to the bridge." she instructed with a firm look in her eyes.
Spinel began to thrash a bit and with pouty lips as she looked up at Tanya as she hung off of bed with her head upside down, "Come oooon! I'm done being cooped up in here! Can't I come this time?" she pleaded as she turned over onto her stomach to lift herself up on the bed and look up at Tanya correctly with a hopeful smile, "I'll be good this time, Pi-er, Citrine, this time! I won't throw another fit!" she tried to reason with a promise towards Tanya with a wide smile.
Tanya glanced to her Pearl, "Only if you stick close to Pearl, here." she said, prompting Orange Pearl to give the Spinel gem a kind smile back.
"Booo." Spinel wilted as she sat on Tanya's bed and hunched over, "I wanna stick close to you Pi…uh, Citrine." she moped with her bottom lip out in a pouting face.
"Spinel." Tanya began to warn the gem with a sharp look of sterness, "I don't care how long it takes, but you need to come to terms that Pink Diamond is gone, no matter how much you wish." she chided the gem.
"..." Spinel now had a downcast look as she looked to the side in depression, "How…why would a gem from her own court shatter her?" Spinel began to question with tears forming at the corners of her eyes, " Pink wasn't like the other Diamonds, she cared for her court of gems, so how can a Rose Quartz gem do such a thing to Pink of all Diamonds." she said with her voice cracking in sadness, then looked up at the Citrine Commander with a hopeful look that she'll answer her questions.
Not thinking before she spoke on the matter, Tanya crossed her arms with a thoughtful gaze down at the Spinel Gem, "That's why I've been investigating the incident on the side." she murmured with a glance to the side in thought, "The facts don't seem to add up to Pink Diamond's demise." she muttered. "It screams like a cover up story."
Spinel looked up at the Citrine Commander with Surprise, "Wait, what was that?" she asked in confusion.
Just before Tanya could respond, the comms system dinged, "Commander Citrine, I would like to inform you that we are now approaching planet Chartreuse. That will be all."
"We can continue this conversation later, Spinel." Tanya told the gem as she reached down and grabbed Spinel by the hand, "Come." She ordered without room for argument as she pulled the gem up by the hand and forced her to walk with her, while Orange Pearl walked behind the two. As the three of them exited Tanya's private quarters, Spinel glanced up at the Citrine commander with a confused expression, before looking down at her held hand as she walked with the Citrine gem commander.
In Spinel's mind, memories of the time when Pink would all of a sudden grab her hand to take her to play a few games were dredged up, followed by the times Pink played all sorts of games with her; with a simple small smile unseen by Citrine and Orange Pearl as they all walked through the hallways of the ship, Spinel squeezed her hand back into the held hand embrace she held with the Citrine commander. Whether Citrine noticed or not, she didn't seem to comment on it as she led the way to the bridge.
Gas Giant Planet Chartreuse
Above the large gas planet, space seemed to bend as an armada of ships followed by one large orange Hand War ship coming out of their warp speed; after several minutes passed by in relative peace, a few ships came out of the wrist of the hand ship, before flying down to the gas planet below.
Within the facility that was at the center of the gas giant's massive cyclonic storm, the entire floating research facility was abuzz with activity, more so than usual as a certain Citrine Commander was arriving to pick up a particular weapon of mass destabilization in its prototype phase; inside the Administrator's office room, Admin Yellow Olivine was putting herself into overdrive as she worked at her desk, fervently typing into a holo-keyboard. "Compile this…extract…come on, faster!" she shouted at her screen.
So involved in putting together the last touches on the finer know-how instructions for the project 7hund32 dash c14p weapon, that Yellow Olivine nearly fell out of her chair she sat on from a screen popping up next to the monitor she focused her attention on. "Gah!" She stumbled a bit in her chair, as the screen showed a two way video call between her and the Very Commander that was expected to come and pick the prototype up. "C-c-comander Citrine!" She announced as she stood up at Attention.
The commander didn't comment on her stuttering, "Yellow Olivine." she began to comment with a raised eyebrow, "I was told you have something for me down here?" she said, while in the background there could be seen a locked off section of the facility with a few Topaz Guards standing beside the door that would lead to what Commander Citrine had come to pick up.
"Oh Stars! I wasn't expecting you here so soon! I thought I'd have a few more days at least!" Yellow Olivine fretted with her hands on her head in embarrassment.
On the other end of the call with Commander Citrine, Tanya was thinking inwardly to herself with some joy, "I might just use this to my advantage, I can stall for time and relax for a bit…" she thought to herself with a small smile. Coughing into her fist, "Very well then, I can wait for a few days at the very least." she smiled at the Yellow Olivine on the other end of the call.
Olivine seemed to breathe a breath of relief, and smiled gratefully back, "Thank you, My Commander Citrine! I was just putting the last touches on the instructions to the projects you were tasked to pick up, it won't do for you and your gems to operate the weapon without knowing the ins-and-outs of the wmd-"
"WMD?" Tanya deadpanned with an incredulous tone.
"Why yes!" Yellow Olivine smiled excitedly as she stood up for the call, "I thought I'd give it a short acronym." she said with pride, and nodded to herself.
"...Oh…" Tanya mumbled to herself, before asking, "And WMD stands for?" she prodded the gem with a question.
Yellow Olivine grinned excitedly, "Weapon of Mass Destabilization!" she explained to the Citrine Commander.
"Destabilization?" Tanya questioned the Olivine more with a raised eyebrow, "Not Destruction, but Destabilization?"
Yellow Olivine frowned a bit, and tapped her chin in thought, "Well, I did think of that first, but theoretically, this weapon is supposed to cause wide destabilization of gems on a planet on a massive scale, it's not supposed to cause destruction on a wide scale." The Admin Olivine then shrugged to herself, "So I went with Destabilization instead of Destruction for the classification of the weapon's scale."
"What's that part about theoretical?" Tanya asked with a narrowed look of caution.
Yellow Olivine smiled in response, and waved her worry off, "We were able to get enough of the theoreticals written out, now all you need to perform the practical use of the weapon." she assured the Citrine commander with a gratifying smile.
"I'm gonna need you to explain what it'll do, before you give it to me." Tanya asked of the Yellow Olivine gem with a stern frown, "I don't like going in using something that I have no idea what it'll do." she told the Admin gem.
With a giggle of excitement, Yellow Olivine placed her palm on her chest. "I would love to explain the inconsistencies of the prototype, just allow me to finish up the instructions in a few days, and I'll properly show you what the weapon is and what it'll do!" she said with a prim smile.
"Well…at least I'll have an excuse for why I didn't immediately pick the prototype up." Tanya thought to herself, before fully speaking to the Admin Olivine, "Very well then, I'll give you at least a week. Two at most" she nodded to herself in satisfaction of getting some down time.
"Oh stars! Don't worry! I'll finish it as fast as possible, I wouldn't want you to be behind schedule after all." Yellow Olivine fretted with an excited smile, "While I'm thankful for being given a longer time frame, I'm sure you have more important matters to attend to." she assured the Citrine Commander.
Tanya gave the Yellow Olivine Admin a tight smile, "Oh no, I don't mean to impose, take your time, and make sure nothing is left out. Wouldn't want my gems under my command to work with something that has an incomprehensible manual afterall." She tried to reason with the Olivine Admin.
"I'll see what I can do!" Yellow Olivine compromise with a crisp diamond salute, "Over and out." She ended the call.
Just as the video call ended, which was displayed off from a projected holoscreen from the nearby wall with a built in interface, Spinel made an excited sound off to the side, prompting Tanya to turn her head and see Spinel messing with a giant looking mallet, "Ooh, what's this, woah!" Spinel said as she tested it out by swinging it, and went flying with the mallet's momentum, and crashed into a stack of supply crates that toppled over her.
"I should have had Pearl to look after you." Was all Tanya could be bothered to ask as she pinched the bridge of her nose, while Spinel popped her head out of the clutter of supply crates, "Spinel, I asked you to stick nearby." she tried to chide the spinel gem.
Spinel simply smiled at Tanya, "I am nearby." she responded back.
"...I ran into that one." Tanya said to herself with a wince.
