(Advice From Emma)

*October 14th, 1941*

*12:20 pm*

Charlotte was studying with Emma in the library as she was thinking about the previous night and what to do regarding Patrick as this concerned Emma.

"Hun, is everything okay? You seem quieter than today?" Emma had asked Charlotte in a tone of concern as she gently placed her hand on top of her girlfriend's hand to give her comfort as Charlotte began to speak.

"I'm doing okay, it's just that I'm thinking about having a personal conversation with my father but I don't know if I want to go through with it or not since a part of me just couldn't care less…" Charlotte had answered while looking at Emma as her girlfriend was nodding her head in understandment.

"I see, If I'm being honest, I feel like you should definitely try to talk to him and seek closure and you obviously don't have to bring your father back into your life but like you said, A personal conversation works best" Emma had advised to Charlotte in a comforting tone of voice as this made the young girl smile in relief.

"Thank you, You always know what to say to me when I'm sad or just need help, You are truly the best" Charlotte had spoken back in thanks as she gently leaned forward to give Emma a small kiss on her cheek which made Emma smile.

"Of course, I'm always here for you if you need anything" Emma had spoken back as she and Charlotte continued to work on their work for a few minutes as Charlotte was thinking about what she had been told.

"Emma is right, I should not feel guilty for cutting off my father or even attempting to make peace with him. I can't continue being afraid of changing or at least closing things due to my own insecurities and fear. I must go out and close things with Patrick before he leaves at the end of the week." Charlotte had thought to herself while feeling a sense of motivation and calmness within her as she continued to do her work for the remainder of the lunch period.

*3:30pm*

Charlotte was walking to her home alongside Emma as they continued to discuss the situation regarding Patrick.

"If I may ask, does your father know about us or not really?" Emma had asked Charlotte in a tone of curiosity as her question was met with her girlfriend shaking her head no.

"Probably since I did see him looking at a photo of me and you when he visited me and my mom so I guess he does but I still plan on telling him" Charlotte had answered back while Emma nodded her head in understandment as she began to speak.

"I see, I'm glad he didn't give you a hard time or anything so that makes me happy to know but going back to what we've discussed before, do you still truly feel ready to talk to your father" Emma had asked Charlotte once more as the girls continued to walk home while Charlotte stopped for a moment which made Emma stop as well.

"I don't know, I had a similar discussion with my mother and she told me the same thing but it's just that I'm feeling obligated to talk to my father rather than doing it out of my own heart and it makes me feel sick.." Charlotte had vented out to Emma as she felt tears slowly building up due to the stress that she's feeling while Emma continued to listen to her girlfriend's venting.

"I don't know why I'm making such a big deal out of this but I just wish that my father never showed his face to me nor my mother.." Charlotte had continued as she felt Emma's hands gently touching hers which made her look up.

"Listen, your feelings are completely valid and always know that whatever choice you make, I'll always gonna support you regardless of your mother, father, and even your friends are against you, just know that I'm gonna be supporting you until the end, my love." Emma had spoken back in a comforting tone of voice as she stared at Charlotte's puffy reddish face as she was done crying.

"Thank you, I needed this conversation. You always find the right things to say.." Charlotte had spoken back as she kissed Emma as the girls eventually resumed walking as they continued to chat amongst themselves until Emma noticed a man selling ice cream from his vendor which caught her attention.

"Charlotte, wanna get some ice cream? It's my treat, okay?" Emma had asked Charlotte as she looked at the vendor while Charlotte nodded her head in confirmation.

"Sure and thank you once again…" Charlotte had spoken back as she slowly smiled which made Emma smile as well while both girls made their way towards the ice cream vendor which was run by a young man in his twenties.

"Good Afternoon, how should I service you beautiful woman today?" The Vender Man had spoken out to the couple with a smile on his face.

"Good Afternoon and I'll have vanilla while she gets chocolate" Emma had requested in a polite tone of voice as she handed over the change which the man happily accepted.

"Good choices! They should be ready in a giffy!" The Vender Man had spoken back as he prepared the ice creams for the couple which didn't take long as he handed Emma the vanilla flavor while handing Charlotte the chocolate flavor.

"Thank you, have a wonderful day" Charlotte had thanked the man as she and Emma walked over to sit on the nearest bench to eat their treats.

"You know, Ice Cream always tastes good when you're feeling sad so I'd figured we end our day by eating Ice cream, I know, It sounds corny if you think about it.." Emma had spoken to Charlotte as she was met with her girlfriend shaking her head in disagreement.

"No! It's not corny! It's honestly a good thing, I feel like calling someone's source of happiness or whatever "corny" is wrong so don't be discouraged" Charlotte had spoken back in defense as this made Emma smile as she nodded her head in agreement.

"R-Right! If It's not hurting anyone then why should we judge?" Emma had spoken back to her girlfriend as both girls shared a warm smile together.

"I feel like I'm ready, I think I'm ready to face my father and It's all thanks to you, my sweet Emma.." Charlotte had thought to herself as both girls continued to chat and laugh amongst themselves while eating their ice cream and of course, Charlotte knew that things were gonna get better in some way, shape, or form.
