It was a beautiful night in New York as Toby roamed the beautiful park, the lights illuminating the scenery.

"What a beautiful night. I always enjoy walking at this time of the night. It's simply fabulous." Toby thought to himself while continuing to roam the streets of New York peacefully until he noticed he was at the familiar spot of Nancy's home, he knew because he could never forget her smell.

"Oh boy! I must be close to Nancy's home. That girl is always nice to me, no matter what." Toby thought to herself joyfully before running across the park until he found Nancy's window.

After this, the young fox quickly climbed up and made his way inside Nancy's room, and the young fox found it to be quite beautiful.

"I guess Nancy isn't home yet, but she should close that window or else scary men might get her." Toby thought to himself before walking over to sit down at his usual spot, the same small bed that Nancy made for him two years prior.

For the next few minutes, Toby rested on the small bed until he heard the sound of the door opening and it was none other than Nancy.

"Whew, what a day! I had fun hanging out with Anya and Charlotte." Nancy spoke to herself in a tired voice while walking over to close her window.

"I wonder how Toby is doing. I haven't seen him around due to the winter, I hope he's safe." Nancy spoke to herself once more before turning around to see Toby sleeping on the small bed, surprising her.

After seeing Toby, Nancy smiled warmly before walking over to where Toby was currently at.

"Oh my gosh, Toby! I knew you would come here. I was thinking all about you, my cute little fox." Nancy greeted her animal friend before picking him up and hugging him gently, making the animal smile warmly.

Soon after, Toby would make cute fox noises while feeling himself being embraced by Nancy.

"You know, I turn eighteen in the summer, meaning I'm slowly becoming an adult. Isn't that great or what, Toby?" Nancy asked the fox with a cute giggle while gently placing him down on the small bed so she could brush her hair for the night.

After being placed on his bed, Toby stared at the beautiful red-haired girl brushing her hair, making Toby blush in the process.

"So beautiful. If only I were human then I could tell Nancy how I feel. Maybe I could have a deeper connection, but for now, I'm just a poor old fox.." Toby thought to himself as he yearned to be human, even if only it was for the night.

During the next few minutes, Toby watched Nancy brush her hair before she walked over to lay in her bed for the night, getting herself comfortable within her covers.

"Perhaps in my dreams, I could tell her how I feel…" Toby thought to himself before slowly falling asleep for the rest of the night.

*Toby's Dream*

Toby found himself sitting in the beautiful park of Central Park which had a dreamy appearance to it.

"Woow so gorgeous!" Toby spoke in a cute voice; however, he quickly found himself to be shocked at the fact he could talk.

Soon after, Toby looked down, and he had human legs, indicating he was now human.

"I-I'm human! How is that possible?!" Toby cried out in shock while he pulled out a mirror to see how he looked.

Toby's human form was the appearance of a seventeen-year-old boy, he had brown skin and short hair.

"Whoa! I-I'm human! I know this is a dream but I never thought I'd see the day.." Toby spoke excitedly before putting the mirror away as he began walking.

Soon after, Toby began running across the park in hopes of running into Nancy.

"This is my chance to tell Nancy how I feel! Even if it's a dream!" Toby thought to himself with a smile while running across the park until he finally saw Nancy standing by the tree, the moon illuminating the area, creating a bloom yet dream-like effect.

"Toby, what brings you here? I see we're having the same dream, right?" Nancy greeted Toby with a smile and this made the young boy smile warmly at what he heard.

"N-Nancy?! I-Is that you?! I have something to tell you. It's important.." Toby responded joyfully before walking over to gently grab Nancy's hands, staring her in the eyes.

The bloom around the park became more beautiful as Nancy and Toby stared each other in the eyes, waiting for one of them to speak.

"G-Go on ahead, my sweet fox." Nancy responded with a smile while she waited for whatever Toby had to say.

"I love you, Nancy. I know I'm just a fox in the real world, but I will always cherish the moments of you taking care of me, giving me berries, and other good stuff during the two years that I've known you. I-I want to be with you, my princess." Toby confessed to Nancy, gently squeezing her hand.

Nancy blushed after hearing this before letting out a warm smile.

"T-Toby. I-I'm flattered, and I didn't know you felt this way about me. No wonder why you're always coming to my place." Nancy responded with a smile before finally deciding on how to respond to his feelings.

"But I will have to kindly reject your confession. Simply because I'm a human and you're a fox; however, I hope you can find a cute fox one of these days, and with that kind demeanor, I know that won't be trouble. " Nancy responded to the confession, kindly rejecting his feelings while Toby smiled.

Of course, Toby was hurt by this; however, he knew that Nancy's feelings were more important so he knew it was wise to put his feelings aside and allow his human friend to be happy.

"I understand, and I'm glad I was able to tell you how I feel. It feels like some weight has been released from my chest." Toby responded while Nancy walked forward, gently holding his face with her hands.

After this, Toby blushed at this while looking at Nancy's beautiful smile.

"Thank you for understanding, my sweet fox; however, since this is a dream, would you like to be my boyfriend, just for tonight?" Nancy offered Toby while the young boy nodded his head in eagerness.

"Of course! I would love that!" Toby responded with a warm smile and this made Nancy happy.

Soon after, Nancy gently leaned forward and kissed Toby on the lips before the pair went off to have fun for the rest of their dream.

*Central Park*

The next day arrived as Toby was walking around the beautiful park and there, he saw Nancy chatting with Anya and Charlotte about the dream last night.

"Aw, such a sweet dream. I bet Toby was quite happy, right?" Anya asked her friend in a happy voice while Charlotte nodded in agreement.

"Making Toby happy for one night, even if it was just in a dream was quite sweet of you, my friend. I know that fox is happy." Charlotte chimed into the conversation while Nancy nodded in agreement

"Yes, It also felt so real, and I know it was a dream but I'm glad that I was able to make Toby happy, even if it was in a dream." Nancy responded with a smile while Anya and Charlotte were pleased to hear this.

Meanwhile, Toby made cute noises due to him being happy that Nancy shared the same dream he had last night.

"So that was Nancy in my dream! I'm so happy! That means I was able to tell her how I felt!" Toby thought to himself joyfully before turning around and walking away, head up with joy.

"I love you, Nancy!" Toby thought to himself once more before running away from the park, his thoughts filled with joy for Nancy.
