"Crime in San Fransokyo, at an all-time low, according to a new study released today by the Department of New Studies. Thank you, Big Hero 9." The news was reporting on the heroes. "Since there's nothing else going on, today we begin a 12-part series on "Foods I Don't Care For." Part one: Yams." He then dumped a basket of yams.
"The yam has a high amount of vitamin B5, C, and nutritional fiber," Baymax commented.
Hiro was with Baymax in the garage as he was creating a conspiracy board to help him figure out what is going on with Obake.
"Hiro? Hiro? Hiro?" Baymax asked as Hiro was too focused on the wall. "Hiro!" He picked up his speech volume. "Has your hearing become impaired?" He asked, spooking Hiro, and causing him to turn and face Baymax. "Can you hear me now?"
"Uh, sorry, Baymax," Hiro said as he turned down Baymax volume. "I was just distracted. I know this is all connected. Like this painting." He gestured to the painting Globby stole a while ago. "I bet Globby stole it for Obake. But why? Obake's planning something big. I've gotta figure this out. Nothing's more important."
Then there was a contact on his computer. He walked over and answered it to see that it was Fred on the other end. "Hiro, there's nothing more important than what I'm about to tell you! Wait, is that a conspiracy wall?" He asked, noticing the wall behind Hiro. "Nice."
"Fred, what is it?" Hiro asks.
"Oh. Wasabi's birthday's in three days, as you can see on my birthday wall." Fred showed it to Hiro, getting him wondering what he was planning.
Everyone met up at Fred's place as Wasabi was the only one absent. They were working on planning a surprise birthday gift for Wasabi. Honey was the one at the board, working on writing the gift ideas down. Fred had a new superpower sidekick with him that was called Mini Max, something he was given because Fred got into trouble while they were stuck in class.
"So, what should we get Wasabi for his birthday?" Honey asks them.
"I say we get him a custom-made Dandy Boy costume!" Fred proclaimed.
"Dandy Boy?" Teresa asked.
"Duh," Fred stated. "Captain Fancy's number two? He's, like, my second favorite sidekick." He then looked to Mini Max on his shoulder. "Don't worry, Mini-Max. You'll always be my first favorite."
"I was not worried." Mini Mx stated.
"Sure, you weren't." Fred scoffed.
"It is true." Mini Max said. "The defense of the principles of goodness consumes my thoughts at all times! Mm-hm, yeah."
"Again, sure you weren't."
"Ooh, I got it! What if we got Wasabi a puppy?" Honey asked as she drew a puppy on the board.
"Wasabi is allergic to all species of canine," Baymax informed her, showing various dogs with fur.
"Aw." Honey said with sorrow. "Well, I guess Pablo the puppy could live with me and GoGo. Right, GoGo?"
"Oh, boy." GoGo wasn't a fan of that idea. "You named it.
"Pablo!" Honey proclaimed.
"We should just give Wasabi cash in a paper bag." GoGo proclaimed. "He can do what he wants with it, no questions asked. Why aren't you writing that down?"
"Guys, you know how Wasabi's car is still stuck in the Bay?" Peter asked them, coming up with an idea.
"You mean the one currently sitting at the bottom of the bay because of Callaghan trying to kill us?" Peni recalled.
"The very same. What if we got it out and fixed it up for him?" Peter asked.
"That's not a bad idea." Teresa agreed.
"That's also a great idea." Honey agreed.
"I'm in," GoGo says.
"Someone should distract Wasabi while you guys fix the car," Fred said as everyone left.
"Your call, Fred," Hiro said as everyone else left the room to get their plans ready.
"We interrupt "Foods I Don't Care For" for some actual news." The news says. "Boss Awesome, beloved San Fransokyo superhero, is now larger than life, thanks to this beautiful, brand-new mega-monument in the Bay. The super statue was a gift from...Who was it a gift from?"
"That's my dad, Boss Awesome," Fred stated. "They're always makin' statues of him. Usually not this big, though."
"According to the Hero-pedia, Boss Awesome is considered the greatest superhero of all time!" Mini Max stated.
"Yeah," Fred confirmed and looked over to the wall of magazine covers. "He's made the cover of Super People magazine, like, 10 times."
"It would be extremely difficult for his offspring to measure up to such a remarkable legacy!" Mini Max stated.
"Yeah, it would."
"Well, find out!" The news stated. I look like a super idiot out here with half a story!"
"Wait! I'm his offspring!" Fred finally realized. "Oh, boy. Never thought about that."
Hiro and Peni made it to his workshop to work on a way to get the car out of the bay.
"If we're gonna fish Wasabi's car out of the Bay, we're gonna need some new underwater gear," Hiro tells Peni.
"Well, you're gonna need it. My suit is actually waterproof." Peni stated.
Hiro and Peni then designed some suits for Hiro and Baymax so that they could travel underwater. Making their way to the bay, Peni was inside her container inside of the SP//DR while Hiro and Baymax were wearing new suits to help them sink.
"Let's dive," Hiro said as he dived into the water.
Peni then leaped into the air and fell into the water alongside her friend.
"I cannot dive," Baymax said as he fell into the water.
As they dove into the water, they followed their way toward the location where they fell and a detector that Hiro worked up to help out.
"I think I got it," Hiro said as they approached a nearby cluster of seaweed.
When they found it, they were spooked by the appearance of a shark in the car. When it swam around, Peni used the SP//DR to then zap the shark, spooking and sending it off away from them.
"That was close." Hiro sighed.
"Let's get this thing out of here," Peni said as they wrapped the car up in webbing and then attached it to Baymax.
"You're clear, Baymax," Hiro said as Baymax began to slowly rise, yanking the car out of the ocean and rising with it.
Meanwhile, Fred was keeping Wasabi distracted as he raced into his limo. "Okay, birthday boy. Where do you feel like going on your special day? The arcade? The ZOO? The arcade?"
"Actually, I was thinking of going buck wild," Wasabi stated. "Let's hit my favorite store, the Organized Gentleman! Oh.
Fred was definitely not okay with that idea. "That sounds... fun."
"I can't wait to see Wasabi's face," Honey said as they were busy repairing Wasabi's car.
Baymax then showed the photo of Wasabi. "Here it is. You are welcome."
"I-I mean when he sees his car," Honey explained.
Teresa then closed the hood of the car and sighed. "Good to go."
"Yep," GoGo said as she came from below the car. "It's all ready."
Hiro however was distracted as he was looking into his phone. "What are you doing?" Peni asked as she leaned over and saw his photo. "Is that a picture of your conspiracy wall?"
"Obake's playing us, I just know it," Hiro tells her.
"Don't worry, Hiro," Honey assured him. "We'll be ready. When it really matters."
"And it's a weird thing that he knew about my days as a wrestler," Peter stated with a look of concern. "I never told anyone about those days."
"So, does that mean he knows who you are?" Teresa wonders.
He knew about my guilt about what happened to Ben, that can't just be a coincidence." Peter nodded. "But the fact he didn't just go public about it like Jackal did makes me wonder why."
"Well, we'll figure it out," GoGo said as she reached to hold his shoulder, only to stop and wonder what to do. "I'm not a shoulder holder." Then she just leaned over and kissed his cheek. "That works."
"Happy Birthday, dear Wasabi Happy Birthday to you!"
The group was with Wasabi and Cass and May now for Wasabi's celebration at the CatCafe. His cake was shaped like his sock drawer as they thought it would be a fun surprise.
"You guys! It's my sock drawer!" Wasabi exclaimed. "And it's a cake!"
"Oh, and don't worry, none of the frostings are touching," Cass tells him.
"It's perfect," Wasabi said.
Except, you got the plaid and the argyle mixed up, but still..."
"Wasabi, just blow out your candles," Teresa tells him.
"Birthday cakes have a significant increase in bacteria on the surface after candles are extinguished," Baymax informed them.
"See? This guy gets me." Wasabi said as he took out a small candle extinguisher and started to put out the candles.
They then started to break up so that the group of kids would go get the car ready. Casa and May just went off to talk on their own and left them be.
"Follow us!" Hiro said as they walked off.
"We have a surprise for you!" Honey said as she followed.
Outside, Wasabi was shocked when he saw that it was his car that was the surprise while everyone yelled, "Surprise!"
"Hey, that looks like my car." Wasabi didn't seem to get it yet.
"That's because it is your car! But now, dry!" Fred proclaimed.
"We upgraded a couple of things." Peni stated.
"By "a couple," we mean everything." Hiro replied.
"You guys!" Wasabi called as he walked over and hugged everyone, then headed to hug his car. He even seemed to tear up a little at the reunion with his vehicle. "Ooh, you're givin' me all the feels!" Hiro tossed him the keys. "Now, who wants to go for a test drive?
Obake was currently working at the bottom of the lake, getting reported on by his robot crab that showed Hiro and Peni taking the car up.
"The boy likes to keep busy." Obake said as he was still working. "So do I." His base started to shake, causing him to become concerned, activating his cameras and seeing a drill appear out of nowhere. "Baron von Steamer?" He wasn't worried, shoving the report away. "Stupid name."
Back with everyone else, they were driving around and saw the giant statue of Boss Awesome statue in the lake.
"Your dad's statue looks cool." Hiro commented.
Wasabi hummed. "Huh, it's a lot bigger in person."
"Okay, fine, I get it." Fred stated with a sigh. "I'll never measure up to my dad, who is so awesome, it's actually in his name."
"Whatever." GoGo shrugged.
"You don't have to be him, Fred." Teresa assured him,
"You be you, Freddie." Honey encouraged.
They then heard Fred's phone ring. "Heathcliff, my man. What do you want?'
"Master Frederick, an urgent message from Baron von Steamer." Heathcliff informed Fred.
"On the phone?" Fred asks.
"No." Heathcliff stated.
They returned to Fred's mansion and watched as Heathcliff strolled in with an old-timer message recorder. It was dragged into Fred's bedroom, where everyone was waiting for him to bring the device.
"Baron's message, sir." Heathcliff said.
"Hit the lights, Mini-Max." Fred said.
"I thrive on being useful!" Mini Max said as he ran to hit the lights.
They then used Baymax to play the message as they saw Steamer reading a script. "Greetings, SP//DR." Baron Von Steamer proclaimed as he continued to read the script. "It is I, Baron von Steamer, your archnemesis."
"Wow, he was actually serious about that." Teresa said as she looked to her younger sister.
"Really could've just phoned." Peter scoffed.
"Meet me in Night Market Square by tomorrow at noon for an epic showdown! Otherwise, I'll dramatic pause destroy the city!" Baron Von Steamer proclaimed as he cackles. Then it seemed he realized his mistake. "Hey, uh, I didn't mean to read "dramatic pause," but in fact, pause dramatically Well, you get the gist!"
Then he laughs evilly and the message ends.
"I can't tell if we have to be worried or not." Peter commented.
Not really knowing if this was a danger for them, they decided to contact Fred's dad, Aka the ex-Boss Awesome. He was currently somewhere that looked to be a jungle with a handful of people with powers fighting off...a T-Rex?
"I wish I could help, son." Stan said as a velociraptor came up to attack, causing Stan to conjure a portal, sending the dinosaurs somewhere else. "But I have my hands full here, trying to clean up the trouble leftover by our recent universal crisis."
"I don't remember dinosaurs being on the job description!" Alice proclaimed as she used a magical shield to stop a triceratops. "I miss the days we fought smaller enemies."
"What memories do you have again?" Eli asked as he shot a tranq at a charging Stegosaurus, knocking it out. "Thanos, Ultron, Emily's grandmother; I'll take these Dino's any day."
"Who's idea was it to let Madame Web create a reality where Jurassic Park exists?!" Emily called in anger, shooting magic to lasso up the dragons. "I thought she only worked with spider-people!"
"You don't know the history of where these guys come from." Noah stated as he flew down, landing on the back of a velociraptor, where he zapped and knocked it out. "I do, and it's a weird one."
"When isnt it?" Eli asks.
Stan then turned the attention back on him and the others. "Steamer has pulled this same stunt a dozen times."
"Threatened to destroy the entire city unless you show up to a showdown?" Teresa asks.
"Bingo." Stan confirmed.
"How did you beat him?" Peter asks.
"Yes." Mini Max stated. "I am confused. According to Hero-pedia, you were repeatedly captured."
"While he gloated about his plans, I'd bust out and save the day." Stan explained.
"Wait, so every time you pretended to get captured, Steamer would just explain his plan?" Peni questioned on the top of her robot.
"Like clockwork." Stan proclaimed.
"What are you thinking?" Peter asks Hiro.
"What if we give Steamer what he wants?" Hiro asked, referring to Peni. "And wait for Steamer to reveal his plan, so we can be ready to stop it!"
"What do you think, Peni?" Teresa asks.
"Why not?" Peni shrugged. "Let's stop my nemesis!"
"Classic!" Stan cried, just as the T-Rex came over and chomped on the camera.
The team decided to go through with it, meeting the designated area where Steamer wanted them to be. Peni was left in her SP//DR suit while the others were hanging back in their uniforms using Wasabi's car or their flight capabilities.
"Don't worry." Peter told his sister.
"We got you." Peter promises.
"Be careful, Peni." Honey asks
"Good luck." GoGo said.
"Thanks, guys." Peni said.
Then Peni was left as they went into hiding and were now waiting for Baron Von Steamer to make his appearance. Peni felt the ground shake as suddenly Steamer's giant drill came through the steps and he came marching out.
"Well, well, well! If it isn't my mortal enemy, SP//DR." Steamer proclaimed, holding a steam gun.
"Yep, that's me." Peni stated.
Then Steamer struck her with a steam blast, which didn't really hurt, but she pretended to act like it killed the computer systems, causing the robot to fall over. Peni then opened the suit and crawled out, looking up to Steamee.
"Oh, no! You've captured me!" Peni cried flatly.
"What?" Steamer asks as he marched over and looked down on Peni. "You're a child?"
"And you're an old man." Peni stated sternly.
Steamer then grabbed her by the collar of her jacket, raising her up to his eye level. "No matter! You're coming with me!"
Peni was willingly being dragged into the drill as Steamer took her and he escaped inside the drill. Everyone watched and knew they just needed to wait for what happened next. SP stood up in the suit, that being one of the only functions that it has left without Peni to fight back.
Steamee cuffed Peni against a pipe as he stood over her at a control panned. "I'm going to make you watch the destruction of your beloved San Fransokyo before I destroy you!'
"And?" Peni asks.
"And what?" Steamer asks.
"Aren't you gonna tell me in great detail how you're gonna destroy the city?" Peni asks.
"No." Steamee shrugged. "I'm just gonna destroy it."
"What?" Peni was shocked to hear.
"You see, I realized why Boss Awesome always beat me; because I explain my plan right before I go through with it." Steamer explained as he walked around the small room. "But not this time!" He began cackling. "Not this time!"
"But wouldn't it be fun to tell me?" Peni asks, trying to convince him.
Steamer sighs. "It would be delicious. But must resist oversharing."
"Come on, Steamer, huh?" Peni tried to get him talking.
"No villain can resist the urge to revel in their own brilliance." Peni proclaimed, remembering what Fred once said.
"You're right." Steamer was struggling not to reveal his plans. "I can't resist a good revel!" Then he took out some tape. "But that is why I'm taking precautions."
Steamer then began to cackle, with everyone on the radios hearing his cackling.
"Now what?" GoGo asks.
"We have to figure out where the attack is going to come from." Hiro stated.
"He's right. Steamer could show up anywhere," Peter said when feedback whines in their helmets.
"You know, for a child prodigy, you disappoint me." Obake told them.
"Obake." Peter snarled.
"Isn't it obvious, hero?" Obake asks. "Steamer's end game? Think bigger."
The feedback whines back and he vanished. "Well, that was creepy." Fred stated.
"Think bigger." Hiro was fighting it out when he looked out to the ocean and saw the statue. "Guys, that Boss Awesome statue, it's a weapon!"
Steamer was still cackling, but Peni realized he might be trying to say something. The entire Boss Awesome statue is wheee they apparently were, with them being in the head of the statue as it was beginning to transform and turn into a giant Baron Von Steamer statue.
"Okay, I think you're being evil, but I can't really tell." Peni told Steamer.
Steamer then yanked the tape off of his mouth. "Aah! Sorry. Completely forgot I gagged myself. What I said was 'Say goodbye to San Fransokyo'!"
"The statue!" Peni couldn't believe she didn't get that.
Steamer began cackling as she seems to understand. "Yes! The Boss Awesome statue was a secret weapon the whole time!" He said with a sigh. "Ooh, oh, it feels good to let it out!"
"It's sucking up the water in the Bay." Peter proclaimed as he saw a pipe sucking the water. "so it can..."
"Blast the city with it!" GoGo said.
"I have an idea." Hiro said as he summoned the scuba gear using Skymax.
"I hope you brought your wrinkly laundry, because things are about to get steamy!" Steamer proclaimed.
"Uh, why would I bring my laundry? Also, who still steams their clothes?" Peni asks.
"Boss Awesome never questions my banter." Steamer stated.
"Pbh." Peni scoffed when she heard that. "Yeah, I can guess that. That's why you don't have any current material."
Peni then yanked and her spider strength allowed her to break free of the restraints. Then she hit a button on her watch, summoning the SP suit to her. Peni watched as Steamer felt the statue shake as the monocle is smashed by the SP suit coming in, opening for Peni to make her way inside.
Hiro and Baymax made their way down to the bay where they found the feet of the statue. While Peni was escaping, they were preparing to destroy the statue before Steamer could destroy the city.
"Baymax, overdrive mode." Hiro tells him.
"But overdrive mode will drain Baymax's battery, Hiro." Honey reminded him.
Baymax confirmed. "My systems cannot fully function on a low battery."
"I know, Baymax, but we need as much speed as we can get." Hiro explained.
Teresa wasn't sure he followed. "For what?"
"No time to explain." Hiro stated.
Baymax nodded and prepared. "Entering overdrive mode."
Baymax turned into a stronger version of himself using Overdrive Mode, then blasted off into the pipeline that sent them flying. They reached the end of the pipeline, blasting through the container holding the water, sending a giant splash, and sending Hiro and Baymax flying. They went
"I did the thing!" Baymax cheered as and Hiro fell into the water.
"Aah!" Steamer cried as he was being thrown out of the broken window SP left behind. Peni stood proud underneath her armored suit and laughed as she jumped up, hugging her armored suit face, which SP gave a love emoji.
Teresa flew over to where Baymax and Hiro were floating, wanting to help drag them back to shore.
"Hello." Baymax greeted. "I'm ba-ba-blah-"
"Save it for later, Max." Teresa said as she grabbed Hiro and flew back with a hand on Baymax's leg.
Peni then leaped onto the bay where she saw Steamer was trying to crawl away. Peni grabbed him by the leg and lifted him up so he was dangling upside down.
"No! Wait, stop! I'll do anything!" Steamer cried as he tried to break free.
"Will you surrender and turn yourself in to the police?" Peni asks.
"Yes! Yes! Yes! I I'll surrender and turn myself in to the police!" Steamer promised. "But mark my words! I will have my re-"
Peter webbed his mouth shut. "I just can't with the revenge-vowing speech anymore. I've heard them enough."
Peter and Teresa went home with Peni close behind and were making themselves at home with May already asleep.
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm still creeped out that Obake was able to hack us." Peter stated as he started to look into his comms.
"And how weird was it that he helped us?" Teresa asks.
"Yeah." Peter muttered. Why would he help us save the city?" Then he looked at Peni as she was washing the water out of her uniforms. Then he recalled what Steamer was planning and began to question it. "Maybe it wasn't about the city." He then looked out to the bay where the bridge is currently, remembering the painting that Globby stole. Maybe it was about the water."
Obake was indeed using the water and converting it into D20 so he could use it as a fuel source. And with Steamer, he was more or less a distraction that was helpful to keep the heroes busy from him so he could continue with his plan.
Venom snarled as he approached Obake, furious with his time table. "We have been patient. Obake. You promised us revenge."
"And you shall have it soon enough." Obake promises, finishing his work. "But for now, be patient. For a brute, that should be impossible, but..." Obake revealed he had some speakers that would shoot a high frequency like they used against Venom. "This should keep you calm."
Venom snarled as he backed off a little, keeping his distance from both Obake and the speakers.
