Gwen clocks out of work, feeling relieved another stressful day was over. She teleports back to her room in the cottage and attempts to take a nap. She puts on her invisible sweater and lays in bed and shuts her eyes. But she is interrupted by Cuphead and Mugman's usual fighting in their room. Gwen groaned and got out of bed and went to their room. She entered their room and yelled,
"Guys! I'm trying to sleep here! Do you mind?!"
Both cups look at her in shock and both shake their heads with halos appearing above their heads, seemingly understanding. Gwen sighed, exited their room, went back to her room and went back to bed. But she hears the boys fighting once again and groaned. She finally makes herself earmuffs to mute any sound.
Gwen falls asleep peacefully when suddenly, the Devil appeared in her room to kidnap her once again. He reaches for Gwen, only for the sweater to electrocute him severely. Gwen turned around in her bed, trying to ignore him.
"Go away you feeble freak of nature!" Gwen groaned.
"Grrr!" The Devil growled and disappeared back to Hell.
Gwen tries to sleep it off again until she heard Elder Kettle turn up his radio loud and terribly sings along with the tune. Gwen is finally fed up and gets up out of bed.
"That's it! I'm sick and tired of stressful days at work! I'm sick and tired of the Devil! I'm sick and tired of my second family's balderdash! I need a break!" Gwen groaned in frustration.
Gwen was unsure what she wants to do to take a break from her life. She goes outside to get the mail. She looks through the envelopes, then notices a flier for a place called Tropical Island Resort. She looks at the flyer of a beautiful resort hotel and read that they have beautiful beaches, a swimming pool, fun activities, live shows and several restaurants. She decided to give it a try and take a personal vacation to the resort.
First, she puts in a time off request at her job, which she gets approved. Then, she books a room for a week at the resort. Finally, she magically packs up her satchel. She remembered the Devil and decided to leave a decoy of herself in her room to keep him distracted.
Gwen writes her family a note, telling them she's gone on vacation and won't be back for a week and places it on her pillow. She feels ready to go and shapeshifted into her ghost form and flies off for the airport.
She gets on a plane, flies off to the Tropical Island Resort. Gwen is in awe of the beauty of the island as she followed the other tourists to the resort. She is checked into her room and Gwen is finally happy to be away from home for a while.
After magically unpacking her stuff, Gwen gets dressed in her bathing suit and takes off for the beach. She magically makes herself a towel, puts on sunglasses and sunhat, magically applies sunblock and lays down on the towel. A penguin waiter walks up to her with a drink.
"Your tropical drink madam." The penguin waiter announced.
"Thank you." Gwen said as she took her drink and tipped him five dollars.
Gwen has a sip, sighed of relief and enjoys her relaxation.
"This is gonna be the best week of my life." Gwen said to herself.
Just then, she hears a crowd of people cheering. Gwen gets up from her towel, lifts her sunglasses and looks to see what was going on. She notices a tall and large, muscular red genie showing off his magic tricks with flying swords and little cat statues with toy mice floating.
"Woah, genies are real?" Gwen asked herself.
She watches the genie magically open a treasure chest and various treasures fly out and people each catch a treasure. Gwen scoffed at the genie and went back to her relaxation. But a pink jewel floated up to her, catching Gwen's attention.
"Huh?" Gwen asked.
Gwen takes the pink jewel and places it down and goes back to relaxing.
Just then, the crowd started cheering, making Gwen lose her patience. She gets back up and looked to see what was happening. She saw the genie flying on his flying carpet flying all over the beach.
He flew over large waves approaching and flies under them, making himself looking like he was surfing. He flew past Gwen and catches a glimpse of her, looking at him unimpressed. The genie finishes off with flying up and jumping off the flying carpet. He shows off freefalling moves and finishes with a smooth landing with confetti exploding.
The crowd cheers as the genie takes a bow along with his swords and cat statues.
"Thank you! Thank you everyone! Glad you all enjoyed the show!" The genie called to the crowd.
Gwen feels fed up, gets up and magically packs up her stuff and decided to take her relaxation somewhere else. The genie enjoys the cheering until he notices Gwen walking away and decided to know who she is. He flies off as the crowd goes back to their vacation.
Gwen walks up the path back to the resort through the palm tree forest until the genie magically appeared in front of her.
"Hello there little human!" The genie said with a big smile.
"Uh, hi." Gwen said and attempted to walk around him.
But the genie wrapped his arm around her and said,
"What's the rush kid? Stay a while. I haven't seen you before." The genie said.
"I'm just here on vacation. So, if you don't mind…" Gwen was about to say until the genie interrupted.
"Of course, you are kid! We all are! We're having the time of our lives!" The genie said.
Gwen was feeling uncomfortable and decided to leave him alone.
"Okay, well you have fun showboating and I'll have fun relaxing Mr. Genie." Gwen said as she attempted to leave.
"Woah, kid. Mr. Genie is my father. They call me Djimmi the Great. What do you they call you?" Djimmi introduced himself and asked for her name.
"Gwendolyn Mae Emmons. Gwen for short." Gwen introduced herself.
"Wait a minute!" Djimmi said, realizing something.
He looks at Gwen, notices the magic inkwell on her belt.
"It's you! You're that human kid everyone's talking about!" Djimmi said.
"I guess you've heard of me too?" Gwen nervously asked.
"Are you kidding me? Of course, I've heard of you! We genies heard of you kid!" Djimmi explained.
"Oh wow. Well, it was nice meeting you Djimmi. Goodbye." Gwen said and turned to leave only to find Djimmi in front of her again.
"Hold on there kid. I don't think you realize who you're dealing with. Let me show you the phenomenal powers of the genie!" Djimmi said as he grew giant.
"Oh boy." Gwen said worryingly.
Before she knew it, Djimmi scooped Gwen up in his hand and flies off into the clouds. He shows off some of his magic by showing her visions of grand palaces, gold and treasure and the astral plane.
Gwen watched in awe as she stood on Djimmi's palm until he magically makes her float up and makes some clouds swirl around her along with stars and little planets with rings, to her amazement.
Suddenly, Gwen fell down, but Djimmi sticks out his large finger as she landed on it. Then, he brings her up to him like a little bird as he laid on the clouds.
"What are you trying to do? Give me a heart attack?" Gwen asked frustratingly.
"Impressive, huh kid?" Djimmi asked, knowing his powers would impress her.
"Are you like this with all your fans?" Gwen asked as she caught her breath.
"Yep. I'm a genie, you know? Lives in a lamp, grants 3 wishes for every master? Blah, blah, blah?" Djimmi explained.
"I know that. All humans know that back in my world. Except no human believes genies are real." Gwen said.
"Well, seein' is believin'. But I know little humans like you wish the loudest." Djimmi said as he extended his eye out, giving her a scare.
"Yeah. But you seem to be free from your lamp." Gwen guessed.
"Oh, yeah. I was set free long ago and now I do this. Travel around the Inkwell Isles and show off my magic to people." Djimmi explained.
Gwen thought for a moment and asked,
"I'll just ask, what do you want with me since you won't leave me alone?"
"Well, since we're both on vacation, I was thinking maybe you could help me out with something." Djimmi explained.
"But you have genie magic, right? You can make anything happen like you just demonstrated so why do you need me?" Gwen asked, feeling confused.
"You're right. I can make anything happen with my magic. But I was thinking I could use a little human with the all-powerful inkwell to help me with my magic show to impress my fans!" Djimmi explained.
Gwen looked at him unamused.
"So, you need me and my inkwell to help you impress your fans?" Gwen asked, trying to understand.
"That's right kid! So, what do you say?" Djimmi asked.
Gwen thought for a moment.
"If I help you with your magic show, will you let me enjoy the rest of my vacation relaxing?" Gwen asked.
"Sure kid. Just help me impress and amaze my fans and then I'll let you relax." Djimmi offered.
"Okay." Gwen said and held up her hand.
Djimmi lifts his finger to her tiny hand, and both shake on it.
"Great! I'm hosting the extraordinary magic show Saturday evening and you're gonna be my assistant!" Djimmi explained.
"What, me?" Gwen asked.
"Yes you! You and I are both magic users. With our combined magic, we're gonna put on the greatest show in the world!" Djimmi announced.
"Uh… okay." Gwen reluctantly agrees.
"Excellent! I'll let you go back to your relaxation. I'll come find you and we'll practice together!" Djimmi said.
"Really?" Gwen asked.
"Yep. See you later kid!" Djimmi lifted his hand and snapped his fingers, making Gwen disappear back to the resort.
Gwen sighed of relief and heads back to her room to rest up from her encounter with Djimmi.
She decided she needed a massage and goes to a licensed masseur to get a full-body massage. After her massage, she decided to grab some dinner at a nearby luau restaurant. She gets a table and orders her meal.
Just then, she noticed Djimmi with a crowd of admirers once again showing off his magic. Gwen scoffed again and hid her head behind a menu to avoid being spotted.
"Alright everyone! Come and see my show this Saturday! I'm having an assistant help me out this time!" Djimmi announced.
The crowd cheered and all leave Djimmi to sit at different tables. Just then, Djimmi noticed someone hiding behind a menu. He looks under the table and noticed Gwen's feet, immediately knowing who was sitting there. He floated and sat down in a chair, inviting himself to her table.
"Hello again kid!" Djimmi said.
Gwen nervously peeked over, realizing she can't fool Djimmi. She sighed and placed her menu down.
"Oh, hi." Gwen said feeling sad.
"Mind if I join you?" Djimmi asked as he magically grabbed a menu.
Gwen shook her head as Djimmi gets the attention of a waiter and pointed at what he wanted. Then, he noticed Gwen sipping her drink sadly.
"Okay, I'll just ask, why so blue? Don't you like magic shows?" Djimmi asked.
"No, I do. It's not that." Gwen answered.
"Oh, then what is it? You tired of the same old routine at home and decided to come here alone?" Djimmi guessed.
Gwen's eyes popped.
"Who said I'm trying to get a break from my life?" Gwen asked in denial.
"Kid, I can read you like a book. You think you're the only one here doing that? Everyone here is doing the same thing. They're tired of stressful days of work, their families bickering and all that stuff." Djimmi explained.
"Wow, you're good. You ever had a demon trying to kidnap you and try to marry you against your will?" Gwen asked.
"No, why?" Djimmi asked.
"That's almost every day of my life." Gwen answered.
"Oh. Sorry kid." Djimmi said.
"It's fine. I just hope my decoy keeps the Devil distracted long enough to keep him off my back." Gwen said as she sipped her drink.
"Oh my. The Devil himself huh?" Djimmi asked.
Gwen nodded sadly.
Just then, the waiter arrives with their meals and Gwen thanks him. They both eat together, paid the bill and both watch a live band perform tropical music. After the show, they both applaud the musicians, and both leave the luau.
"Well kid. You should get some sleep. We've got a whole week ahead of us having fun and then doing the show together." Djimmi said and disappeared.
Gwen started to have a little change of heart for Djimmi. But she knew she shouldn't be so sure yet since she doesn't know him. She goes back to her room and gets ready for bed and goes to sleep.
Throughout the week, Gwen spends her time having fun and relaxing at the resort as well as rehearsing magic tricks with Djimmi for his upcoming show. Overtime, she and Djimmi started to bond, and he teaches her some of his magic tricks.
It was the night before the show when they were finishing up their last rehearsal in the auditorium. Gwen helps Djimmi in his giant form with the grand finale which will dazzle and amaze the audience. After Djimmi makes the magic disappear he is impressed with Gwen as he placed her on a lifted platform.
"We're ready kid." Djimmi said.
"You really think so?" Gwen asked.
"No, I know we are." Djimmi said as he shrinks down to his regular size and wrapped his arm around Gwen as they sat down on the platform.
"You know kid, I like having an assistant for my show. You really are something." Djimmi complimented.
"Thanks. It's really nice having a new friend." Gwen said with a smile.
The next morning back in the Inkwell Isles, Cuphead and Mugman try to adjust to not having Gwen around the cottage. They both sit in front of the radio. Cuphead was listening to Dirk Dangerous while Mugman was reading a book.
"I hope Gwen's doing okay on her vacation." Mugman said.
"Me too. At least she'll be home tomorrow." Cuphead said.
"You don't think she didn't leave because of us? Do you?" Mugman asked.
"Aw banana oil! She's used to us bickering and fighting." Cuphead said in denial.
"Or maybe she needed a break from her routine she's always doing. It's okay to do that." Mugman said.
"Will you relax Mugsy? She'll be back tomorrow, and things will be back to normal. Besides, I think the Devil hasn't figured out that decoy in Gwen's room isn't real. Boy is he so stupid!" Cuphead said as he laughed.
Mugman realized something.
"It could be a matter of time before he figures that out and goes after Gwen. We gotta make sure he's not at the resort and try to kidnap her again." Mugman said.
He goes upstairs into Gwen's room and grabs her invisible sweater and packs it in a bag. Mugman goes downstairs and grabs Cuphead.
"Come on Cuphead! Let's go!" Mugman said.
"But how do we even get to the resort?" Cuphead asked.
"I've got an idea. Come on!" Mugman said.
Both cups leave the house to find a way to get to the resort.
Meanwhile, down in the depths of Hell, the Devil is once again stuck in a ledger review hosted by Stickler. Both the Devil and Henchman are bored to death with Stickler giving his presentation of numerous failures due to the Devil's failed attempts to kidnap Gwen and his careless behavior.
The Devil groaned and hung his head down.
"Ugh! I hate these reviews! And Gwen is missing! Where would she go?! I've searched all her favorite places! Did she think she could fool me with that stupid decoy?!" The Devil whined to himself.
Just then, Henchman whispered to his boss,
"Psst! Boss!"
The Devil looked at Henchman.
"Let's get outta here and take the night off! There's gonna be that hit magic show hosted by that genie at the Tropical Island Resort that I've been hearing about tonight! I also heard he's got an assistant to help him out this time!" Henchman continued whispering.
The Devil is now interested in the magic show. Both demons snickered and sneak off from the conference room.
Back at the Tropical Island Resort, Gwen and Djimmi were both getting ready for the show. Gwen wears a beautiful tropical flower dress. Gwen takes a deep breath as she was magically applying makeup. Gwen wasn't sure she was ready for the show. Djimmi flies up to her.
"Nervous?" Djimmi asked.
Gwen nodded.
"Hey, you got nothing to worry about. We're gonna dazzle and amaze the audience with our combined magic and it's gonna be awesome!" Djimmi assured her.
"You know, I was once part of a magic act in a circus hosted by King Dice when I was first brought here, but it turned out to be a trap to capture me and brought to the Devil. But I managed to escape from his birdcage trap just in time." Gwen explained.
"Don't worry kid. I'll watch out for you. I'll make sure that doesn't happen to you again." Djimmi promised her as he wrapped his arm around her.
Gwen is touched by his promise and sinks her head into his chest, trusting him. Just then they hear the drums rolling.
"Alright kid, you ready?" Djimmi asked.
Gwen nodded as they both stand up and go to take their places.
Meanwhile, outside the auditorium doors, the Devil and Henchman appeared from a puff of smoke and approached the ticket man.
"Two tickets for the magic show." The Devil ordered.
"Sorry bub, the house is completely sold out. You'll have to come next year. Sorry sucker!" The ticket man said rudely and shut the ticket window with a 'Sold Out' sign on it.
The Devil growled furiously as the ticket man walked out of the ticket booth laughing. Out of anger, the Devil aimed his pitchfork and blasted the rude ticket man to ashes. Henchman watched in horror as the Devil sighed of relief.
"That certainly cheered me up." The Devil said happily.
"Uh, sure boss." Henchman answered nervously.
"Now, let's get inside." The Devil said.
They both head inside as the show was about to start, realizing it really was a full house.
"Duh, wow boss. It really is a full house." Henchman said.
"Not to worry Henchman." The Devil assured him.
He magically makes two comfy seats in the back row and get a good view of the stage and both demons sit down to watch.
A spotlight is shown on a little oil lamp. Just then, smoke started spouting out of the lamp and Djimmi appeared.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the most dazzling show in the Inkwell Isles!" Djimmi announced.
"Hosted by yours truly: Djimmi the Great! And you're all in for a real special treat! Because tonight, I've got a special guest assisting me with my show this time. I'm sure you've all heard of her, the kid who carries tremendous magic in a little bottle! Please welcome the kid…" Djimmi was about to announce as he raised his fist out.
The Devil suddenly realizes who Djimmi was talking about and asked,
"Wait a minute! Is he talking about…?"
"Gwendolyn Mae Emmons from the human world!" Djimmi announced as he opened his hand, revealing a flower bud.
Just then, the flower bud magically blossomed, revealing Gwen in her shrunken form. Then she magically morphed the flower into her dress, restoring herself to her normal size, wowing the audience and cheered for her.
"Gwen?!" The Devil exclaimed.
"Wow! He got Gwen to join him this year! This is gonna be great!" Henchman said excitedly as he was munching on some popcorn.
"So, this is where she's been hiding the whole week huh?" The Devil angrily asked.
Suddenly, the Devil gets an idea and smiled evilly.
"Hmm, this could work to my benefit. I'll just wait till the show's almost over. Then, when she least expects it, I'll sneak backstage, snatch her and take her away! That'll be quite a grand finale!" The Devil explained his evil plan as he snickered.
"Shh! They're about to start!" Henchman whispered.
"Oh, right! Right." The Devil said and acted normal.
"Now folks, let's get this party started with our first act: The Dove Act!" Djimmi announced as music started playing.
Djimmi snapped his fingers and props magically appeared. Gwen grabbed a box of matches, struck a match and gives it to Djimmi. He raised his hand and magically transformed the flame into a white dove, making the audience gasp. The dove suddenly laid an egg in his hand and Djimmi transformed it into a white handkerchief and then into another white dove. The audience cheered as the two doves flew onto Gwen's hands as she placed them in a birdcage.
For the next act, Djimmi snapped his fingers and a see-through box appeared with a white tiger inside. Gwen magically raises the box up in the air as Djimmi shows off some dance moves. Then, he magically made another see-through box appear in front of him with curtains rising, covering the box. Djimmi points at the white tiger, making him disappear and the bottom door opens. Djimmi finishes the trick with making his fingers wave at the box, making the curtains lower and the white tiger reappeared in the box. The audience is shocked and once again cheered.
Gwen escorts the white tiger backstage, giving him raw meat as a reward as he purred at her.
Next up, Djimmi makes a basket appear and has Gwen step inside. He covers the basket as Gwen shapeshifted into her ghost form. Middle Eastern music plays as Djimmi summons his flying swords and magically stab into the basket, making the audience gasp. Then, he pulls the swords out of the basket as Gwen emerges from the basket as a ghost, pretending she was dead until suddenly she shapeshifted back into her human form, wowing the audience and once again cheer her on.
Then, it was time for the grand finale. Djimmi grew giant and magically made three floating pyramids with eyes appear in front of the stage. Gwen is levitated into the center of the floating pyramids.
Just then the Devil gets up from his seat and said to Henchman,
"You, wait here! I'll be back!"
The Devil tapped his pitchfork and disappeared.
Back on stage, the eyes on the pyramids started open and beams shot out at Gwen, making her disappear. The audience gasped until Djimmi stuck out his fist again, waves his fingers above his fist until finally, he opened his fist, revealing Gwen unharmed as the pyramids disappeared.
Gwen and Djimmi bowed as the audience cheered and demanded an encore.
Suddenly without warning, Gwen is suddenly tied up by ropes controlled by magic.
"What the? What's happening?!" Gwen asked nervously.
"I don't know! I'm not doing this I swear!" Djimmi answered.
Just then, Gwen is levitated up in the air off Djimmi's hand. It suddenly clicked for Gwen as she realized he found her.
"Oh no! He found me!" Gwen exclaimed as she was taken backstage. She finds herself in the Devil's arms as she is gagged with a cloth gag.
"That's right! I found you my dear! You didn't think I'd fall for that stupid decoy trick, did you?" The Devil asked.
Gwen struggles to get away until the Devil got a tight grip on her.
"Quit fighting me! Now, shall we my beautiful flower?" The Devil scolded and was about to tap his pitchfork.
But before he could, he is suddenly attacked by stars, little planets with rings and mummy-ghosts. Djimmi is inside a giant floating sarcophagus and shows off his attacks to the audience while saving Gwen at the same time. The Devil drops Gwen until she suddenly disappeared in a puff of smoke.
The Devil made the mummy ghosts disappear and prepared to attack again. But before he knew it, he heard a loud growling noise. He turned around and saw the white tiger growling angrily at him.
"Uh, nice kitty." The Devil said nervously.
The white tiger roared at the Devil and started beating him up, making him scream in agony.
On stage, Djimmi still in his giant form closed the sarcophagus, making his attacks disappear. Suddenly, it started glowing bright and the sarcophagus opened, revealing Gwen inside untied safe and sound. Djimmi lifts Gwen up on his hand as the audience cheered for Djimmi and Gwen, thinking it was all part of the encore show.
Gwen leapt from his hand onto his shoulder and hugged his face, making the audience 'aww'.
"You saved me Djimmi. Thank you." Gwen said.
Djimmi rubbed her head with his finger and said,
"Think nothing of it, kid. I owe you big time for all your help." Djimmi said.
They both bowed to the audience as the curtain closed, ending the show. Djimmi shrunk back to his normal size with Gwen sitting on his shoulders. They both watch the Devil getting beat up by the white tiger with satisfaction.
Just then the Devil yelled,
"ENOUGH!"
He blew the white tiger away and prepared to attack Djimmi and kidnap Gwen. She feels scared until Djimmi magically shrinks Gwen and placed her inside his lamp to keep her safe. He makes his lamp disappear and faced the Devil.
"You want the kid? You'll have to get past me first!" Djimmi said bravely.
The Devil laughed and said,
"You're a brave but foolish genie, I'll give you that. Just hand her over quietly and you won't be hurt." The Devil warned him.
"I'm not the one who should be worried about being hurt." Djimmi said with a smug look.
"Oh really?" The Devil asked in disbelief.
Djimmi still floated with his arms folded as the Devil struggled to understand.
Just then two familiar voices call out,
"Yeah! You are!"
The cups appear out of nowhere from behind and shove Gwen's invisible sweater on the Devil, once again electrocuting him severely. Just then, Captain Brineybeard appeared and cracked his knuckles.
"Not again…"
The Devil weakly said until…
POW!
Captain Brineybeard punched the Devil in the face, knocking him out cold.
"Woah! You really pack a punch Briney!" Mugman complimented as he removed the invisible sweater.
"Thank ye Mugman! I've been workin' on it for me sweet!" Captain Brineybeard bragged.
Cuphead went up to the Devil passed out and blew a raspberry at him.
Djimmi made his lamp appear in his hand and magically released Gwen, restoring her to her normal size as she caught her breath and knelt to the floor.
"Gweny!" Both cups exclaimed happily.
"Guys!" Gwen said.
Both cups jump into her arms and hug her.
"You guys came for me? How did you get here?" Gwen asked.
"We convinced Brineybeard to give us a lift in his pirate ship. As well as help us save you." Cuphead answered.
"Guys, this is my new friend Djimmi the Great. He also saved my life before you guys showed up." Gwen introduced as he lifted her on his shoulders once again.
"Hello there little ones. Great timing you picked to take down that no-good demon!" Djimmi complimented.
"Thanks!" Both cups said.
"Good to see you again Briney!" Gwen said.
"Ye too lass. The boys told me ye be needin' help, so I agreed to bring them here." Captain Brineybeard explained.
"You sure have wonderful friends lookin' out for you kid." Djimmi complimented.
"I trust them with my life." Gwen said.
"One question, what are we gonna do with him?" Cuphead asked as he pointed at the Devil.
They all looked at the Devil, lying unconscious.
"I think I have an idea." Djimmi said.
He whistled and the white tiger appeared before them, unharmed.
"Oh good. He's okay." Gwen said feeling relieved.
"There's your next meal right over there!" Djimmi said, pointing at the Devil.
The white tiger smiled and grabbed the Devil by his neck and dragged him away.
The group laughed as they exited the stage, back to the resort.
Meanwhile, Henchman was looking for his boss around the auditorium.
"Boss? Boss? Where are you, boss?" Henchman called out.
Just then, he noticed the white tiger eating his boss in one gulp, making Henchman gasp in horror.
"BOSS!" Henchman yelled as he quickly grabbed the Devil's pitchfork.
He bravely runs up to the white tiger and yelled,
"Bad kitty! Get that out of your mouth!"
But the Devil regained consciousness and poked his head out of the white tiger until…
BAM!
Henchman accidentally hit his boss on the head, thus sending him back into the white tiger's body. Henchman realized too late of his mistake and quickly hid the pitchfork behind him.
Just then, the white tiger started gagging until he spits out the Devil, groaning in pain.
"Boss! You're okay!" Henchman said happily.
He quickly runs up to his boss with his pitchfork as the Devil struggled to stand up.
"Yes Henchman, I'm okay…" The Devil said calmly until he angrily roared,
"BUT YOU WON'T BE FOR LONG!"
The Devil chases Henchman into the elevator until he knocks out his boss again with the pitchfork. Then he pushes the down button and disappears back to Hell to get his boss to the ER once again.
The next morning, Gwen is all packed up and prepares to leave with her friends on Captain Brineybeard's ship at the docks. Just then, Djimmi appeared in front of Gwen and the cups.
"Hey there kid! Ready to head back home huh?" Djimmi asked.
"Yep. I'm back at work first thing tomorrow morning. What about you Djimmi? What are you gonna do?" Gwen asked.
"Oh, I'm gonna travel and do my magic shows around the Inkwell Isles. You know, continue to dazzle and amaze people?" Djimmi answered.
"Yeah, you sure dazzled and amazed me." Gwen complimented.
"Speaking of which, you better be ready to assist me in my show again when I'm in your town. Got it kid?" Djimmi asked her.
"You bet." Gwen answered.
"Boys! Lass! We're about to cast off! Hurry it up down there!" Captain Brineybeard called.
"Be right there!" Both cups called.
Gwen looked at Djimmi and jumped up into his arms, giving him one more embrace.
"You know kid, I have so many fans. But I never had a friend like you." Djimmi said.
Gwen smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Djimmi smiled and placed Gwen down.
"Bye Djimmi!" Gwen said as the cups took her hands and led her on Captain Brineybeard's ship.
"See ya kid! We'll be in touch!" Djimmi said back as he flew away.
Captain Brineybeard opened his sails and his ship started sailing away from the docks and headed their way back to the mainland.
Later that day, Captain Brineybeard drops off the cups and Gwen at the harbor at Inkwell City and the trio head back home to the cottage. She is greeted by Elder Kettle at the front door.
"Welcome home Gwen! We missed you!" Elder Kettle said, embracing her.
"Me too Elder Kettle. It's great to be home." Gwen said.
"Come on Gwen, you can tell us everything you did inside." Elder Kettle said as she and the cups head inside the cottage.
At dinner, Gwen tells her family about the Tropical Island Resort, making a new unexpected friend Djimmi the Great and the magic show. After dessert, Gwen heads upstairs to bed, only to find a present on her bed. Gwen didn't suspect the Devil this time since she knew he was receiving treatment in the ER again.
She opens the present, only to see a cerulean flying magic carpet to magically emerge out, to Gwen's shock. The carpet gives Gwen a little note. She reads out loud,
"Gwen,
Take this beautiful magic carpet as a token of my gratitude for all you've done for me. I'm still going to continue to travel the world performing my extraordinary magic shows, but don't worry we'll keep in touch. You've shown me it is nice to have a friend like you since I've never really had any friends but fans. Take good care of this magic carpet. He can help you get around to wherever you want to go like I do with my carpet. See you again soon kid.
Sincerely,
Djimmi the Great"
Gwen smiled and looked at the cerulean carpet as he happily flew around her, accepting her as its master.
"Aw, okay buddy. I think I'll call you…" Gwen said as she thought about a name.
The magic carpet waited as Gwen thought.
"How does the Cerulean Bolt sound? Gwen asked.
Cerulean Bolt happily accepted his new name and floated up to her.
"Okay buddy, let's see what you got." Gwen said as she crawled on Cerulean Bolt. He flies outside the bedroom window and flies up into the sky. Gwen is startled at first until she in awe of the sights of the night sky.
"Higher!" Gwen said.
Cerulean Bolt flies higher into the sky, above the clouds. She flies down the clouds and notices she was approaching the city. Gwen looked down at the buildings, then at Cerulean Bolt. She pets the carpet gently.
"Good boy. You're gonna be a wonderful addition to my family.
Cerulean Bolt does a loop-de-loop in joy as Gwen held on tight.
"Okay, okay buddy! I think that's enough flying. Let's head on home." Gwen said.
Cerulean Bolt flies Gwen back to the cottage through her bedroom window. Gwen steps off the carpet and magically changes into her nightgown. Gwen crawls into bed and goes to sleep. Then she noticed the carpet lay on her bed like a pet. Gwen smiled and went back to sleep.
In the morning, the alarm clock goes off until Gwen shuts it off. She brushes her teeth, brushes her hair and gets dressed. Gwen was about to tap her ink pen and teleport herself to the Honeycomb Herald. But suddenly, Cerulean Bolt jumped up and down and floated up to her.
"Oh, you wanna take me to work?" Gwen asked.
Cerulean Bolt nodded.
"Alright then." Gwen said,
Gwen crawls on the carpet and flies outside the cottage. Cerulean Bolt flies up to the Honeycomb Herald and Gwen stepped off the carpet. Gwen goes inside to clock and walks into her office. Cerulean Bolt flies into her office and lays down in wait until she was done for the day. Gwen smiled as she got to work, happy that she took that vacation and earned a new magical friend.
