It was a nice day in Boston and Gwen's aunt and uncle Mildred and George Hinckley were getting packed for their 10-year Anniversary trip to Martha's Vineyard. But they would need to find someone to watch their twin daughters Hailey and Kailey for four days. They tried all their closest relatives and friends, but to no avail.
"Well, the neighbors can't watch the girls. And my sister and brother-in-law are busy." Mildred said frustratingly.
"Any other ideas? We've been waiting all year for this trip to Martha's Vineyard, and I can't afford to cancel it!" George argued.
Mildred sipped some tea and placed it down on the table, only to suddenly get an idea.
"Wait a minute. What about Gwen and that Elder Kettle in the cartoon world?" Mildred asked.
"Oh yeah. Maybe Gwen and Elder Kettle could watch the girls. They look after those two cups. Plus, the girls love playing with those boys. It'll keep them distracted." George said, agreeing to Mildred's suggestion.
"Great! I'll call Gwen." Mildred said as she picked up the phone and dialed the number Gwen gave her.
Back at the cottage in the Inkwell Isles, Gwen and Elder Kettle were preparing breakfast while the boys were playing with their paddleballs when they hear the phone ringing.
"I'll get it!" Both cups called.
But both tried to reach for the phone and fight over it that they started brawling each other. Elder Kettle groaned and said,
"Gwen, could you break them up? I'll answer it."
"Yes, Elder Kettle." Gwen answered.
Gwen goes into the living room, used her ink pen to use her giant glove attack to break them up.
"Will you two knock it off?!" Gwen scolded.
Both cups stopped fighting and looked at Gwen.
"Sorry, Gwen." Both cups apologized.
Elder Kettle answers the phone.
"Hello?"
He listens to the other person on the line.
"Oh, hang on." Elder Kettle said.
He turned his attention to Gwen.
"Gwen, it's for you! It's your Aunt Mildred!" Elder Kettle called.
"Aunt Mildred? I wonder what she wants?" Gwen asked.
She goes up to the phone after dropping the cups to the floor.
"OOF!" Both cups exclaimed.
Gwen takes the phone from Elder Kettle and said,
"Hello Aunt Mildred?"
"Hi Gwen, how's it going?" Mildred asked.
"It's good over here. And you?" Gwen asked.
"Oh, not been good lately. You know that anniversary trip to Martha's Vineyard we've planned all year?" Mildred asked.
"Oh yeah. Congrats on your anniversary by the way." Gwen congratulated.
"Thank you dear." Mildred said.
"But, what's the problem?" Gwen asked.
"Well, we've been having trouble finding someone to watch our girls. Your parents are busy, and I can't ask your sister since she and William have their twins to take care of. So, we were wondering if it would be possible if you and Elder Kettle could watch your cousins for four days? We'll even pay you both for your trouble." Mildred asked.
Gwen wasn't too sure since she already had her hands full watching the cups.
"Could you hold on a second?" Gwen asked.
"Of course, dear." Mildred answered.
Gwen turned her attention to Elder Kettle.
"What did your aunt say?" Elder Kettle asked.
"She just asked me if you and I can watch my twin cousins for four days. They're going to Martha's Vineyard for their 10-year anniversary. I don't know, what do you think?" Gwen asked.
"Hmm. Well, we don't have spare rooms at the cottage, but you still got that cabin of yours, right?" Elder Kettle asked.
"Yeah, but we can't just dump Hailey and Kailey in there without adult supervision." Gwen reminded him.
"Indeed. That's why you will be in charge of them and take care of them." Elder Kettle said.
"What? But what about the boys? I have to watch them too!" Gwen protested.
"Don't worry dear, I'll watch them as I always have. I'll watch the boys; you watch the girls. And stay with them in the cabin, keep an eye on them and keep them safe." Elder Kettle suggested.
Gwen sighed and said,
"Well, I guess they can't cause too much trouble as long as I'm there. Trust me, those two are a handful like the cups are. Rose and I should know." Gwen warned.
"So, why don't you tell your aunt we'll do it." Elder Kettle said.
"Fine, okay." Gwen said, feeling unsure.
Gwen gets back on the phone with Mildred.
"We'll do it." Gwen hesitantly answered.
"You'll do it? Great! We'll come by tomorrow morning and drop the girls off at the cottage. Just meet us at your parent's house, okay? See you then, goodbye!" Mildred asked, feeling excited.
Gwen stood there, wide-eyed, fearing she made a terrible mistake.
"It'll be fine dear. We'll have fun with your cousins." Elder Kettle assured her.
"I don't know, the cups and my cousins could mean double trouble combined." Gwen warned him.
"There's nothing we can't handle Gwen. Now, let's go tell the boys." Elder Kettle said.
They both walk up to the cups, recovering from their brief fall.
"Hey boys, we have an announcement to make!" Elder Kettle said.
"Yay! We're going to the amusement park!" Cuphead yelled excitedly.
"No, we're going to the movies!" Mugman also yelled excitedly.
"No boys, it's neither of those!" Elder Kettle scolded.
Both boys calm down.
"You remember Gwen's cousins Hailey and Kailey?" Elder Kettle asked.
"Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" Both cups answered.
"Well, tomorrow morning they're gonna be staying with us for the next four days!" Elder Kettle announced.
Both cups looked at each other.
"Whoo! Yay! Whoo! Yay!" Both cups cheered.
Gwen facepalmed and sighed.
"I guess I'll go get the cabin ready for them." Gwen said.
For the rest of the day, Gwen prepares the cabin for herself and her cousins to stay in. After dinner, they all head to bed.
In the morning, Gwen goes outside the door portal into the human world, waiting for her cousins to arrive. Just then, her extended family arrives outside her parents' house. Hailey and Kailey get out of the car with their suitcases.
"Cousin Gwen! Cousin Gwen!" Both girls exclaimed.
"Aw, hey Hailey, Kailey. How's my favorite cousins?" Gwen asked, giving them a hug.
"Yeah right! We're your only cousins!" Hailey reminded her.
"Now Hailey, she's just being nice." Kailey said.
"Thank you, Kailey." Gwen thanked Kailey.
"Ah, Gwen. You're here, good. So, I've have here their schedule, instructions and their bags. Thanks again dear, we'll see you in four days!" Mildred said as she hugged Gwen.
Mildred and George hug their daughters goodbye and drive off to Martha's Vineyard. Gwen looked at her cousins, takes their hands and takes them through the door portal to the cottage.
"Follow me girls, I know where you can sleep with me." Gwen said, keeping her cool.
She leads them outside to her personal cabin, takes them inside and shows them to all the rooms. The twins go into a room with bunk beds. Hailey takes the bottom and Kailey takes the top. Gwen helps her cousins settle in until the girls want to go play with the cups.
"Alright girls, ready to go play with the cups?" Gwen asked.
"Yeah!" Both girls exclaimed at once.
Gwen takes them back to the cottage and find Cuphead and Mugman playing in the front yard.
"Hey girls!" Both cups greeted.
"Hey cups!" Both girls greeted.
"Alright, go ahead and play, but remember don't leave the cottage for any reason! Stay inside the perimeter of the fence!" Gwen reminded her cousins.
"We will Gwen." Hailey said.
"We promise." Kailey agreed.
"Guys, make sure they don't run off. I gotta get to work." Gwen reminded the cups.
"You can count on us Gwen!" Cuphead said.
"We'll take it from here." Mugman said.
"Thanks guys! You're the best!" Gwen said to her best friends.
"I'll be back in a few hours. We'll have dinner later." Gwen said as she took off for her art studio.
The cups have Hailey and Kailey join them in their afternoon games and fun.
After a while, Gwen returns from work to check on the cups and her cousins. She finds them laying on the grass looking at the clouds.
"Cloud gazing, are we?" Gwen asked.
Hailey and Kailey got up.
"Gwen!" Both girls exclaimed.
They both run up to Gwen and hug her.
"Looks like you two had fun today." Gwen said.
"Yeah, we played hose tag, hide and seek, baseball." Hailey said.
"And they showed us their toys too." Kailey added.
Just then, Elder Kettle comes out the front door.
"Oh boys! Girls! Dinner's ready!" Elder Kettle called.
They all go inside the cottage where Gwen magically created another table for her and the twins to sit together. Elder Kettle served the cups, Gwen and the twins plates of roast chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy with steamed seasoned broccoli.
The family eats together as Gwen notices Hailey and Kailey ate the chicken and potatoes but not their broccoli.
"Girls, finish your broccoli please. Your mama insisted you eat your greens." Gwen reminded them.
"No way! We hate that stuff!" Hailey protested.
"Uh uh!" Kailey also protested.
Gwen knew her cousins hated eating vegetables.
"Well, you're not getting dessert until you finish your broccoli. Just eat it, they're good for growing girls." Gwen encouraged.
Both girls shook their heads, not convinced.
Gwen thought for a moment, then she got an idea.
"Well, okay. If you girls don't wanna eat your vegetables, why don't I put on magic show?" Gwen offered.
Both girl's eyes popped.
"A magic show? What kind of magic show?" Hailey asked.
"Are you gonna use the magic inkwell?" Kailey asked.
"Why yes. Prepare to be razzled and dazzled!" Gwen said, remembering her magic show training with Djimmi the Great.
Gwen got out her ink pen and made the broccoli float in the air. She magically transformed them into sweet treats like pieces of vanilla cake, chocolate chip cookes, chocolate balls etc. Both girls are enchanted as they grab the floating variety of sweet treats and eat them quickly. Just then both girls noticed something odd. They didn't taste very sweet, but grassy and mildly bitter.
"Wait a minute! These aren't sweet treats!" Hailey complained.
"What were those sweet treats?" Kailey asked.
Gwen smiled smugly and revealed her illusion trick of sweet treats.
"Oh… I sorta made the broccoli look like your favorite sweet treats, but they really weren't." Gwen revealed.
Both girls' eyes widened, realizing they were tricked into eating the broccoli and gave grossed out faces. Gwen snickered and said,
"I'm smarter."
Both cups were snickering at the twins until Elder Kettle comes with bowls of ice cream.
"Alright boys and girls. Here's your dessert. Dig in!" Elder Kettle said as he passed each bowl to the cups and girls.
The family eat their bowls of ice cream together until Gwen takes her cousins back to the cabin for the night.
"Alright girls. Get some sleep, we have another fun day ahead of us tomorrow." Gwen said.
"What are we gonna do Cousin Gwen?" Hailey asked.
"Tomorrow, we'll go to Inkwell Pier Amusement Park." Gwen announced.
Both girls gasped.
"Yay!" Both girls cheered.
"Okay, good night girls." Gwen said.
"Good night, Gwen." Both girls said.
Gwen turned off the light and closed their door and headed to the master bedroom and went to sleep.
Over the next few days, Gwen and the cups do fun things with her cousins like taking them to the amusement park, the movies and the beach.
On the last day before the twins' parents will come to pick them up in the morning, the twins were once again playing in the front yard while Gwen was at work. The girls play baseball until Hailey hit the ball too hard and flew off into the forest.
"Uh oh!" Both girls said.
"What are we gonna do? Gwen said not to leave the cottage?" Kailey asked.
"Oh, we'll just go in the forest, get our ball back and go home. Gwen will never know." Hailey suggested.
Hailey opened the gate and started off into the forest with Hailey reluctantly following her. They manage to find the baseball and prepare to head back.
"See Hailey? I told we'd find it." Hailey said as she picked up the baseball.
"Okay, now let's get back before Gwen discovers we're not there." Hailey said nervously.
Suddenly, without warning, they both notice a giant rolling peppermint rolling by.
"Woah! What is that giant candy?" Hailey asked, fascinated.
"I don't know." Hailey answered.
Both girls follow the rolling peppermint into a tree with a coin slot entrance. They find themselves in the realm Sugarland where everything is candy and sweets. They hear a choir singing a creepy song, welcoming the twins to Sugarland. They wonder around in fascination and wonder.
"Where are we?" Kailey asked.
Suddenly, they hear a female voice giggle.
"Didn't you girls hear the song? You're in Sugarland." The voice answered.
The girls look and saw a cake-like castle and Gwen's nemesis Baroness von Bon Bon popped out and floated down to the twins.
"My name is Baroness von Bon Bon and today is your lucky day girls. You get to eat all the sweet treats you desire!" Baroness greeted with a creepy smile.
Hailey is reeled in but not Kailey.
"No thanks ma'am. We'll just be going." Kailey said as she took Hailey away and walked away.
Baroness follows after them.
"Wait dearies, I offered all the sweet treats you desire. Don't you wanna eat my sweets?" Baroness asked seemingly innocent.
"No, you just wanna fatten us up and eat us. We know that story." Kailey answered.
"Oh, yeah. That fairytale." Hailey said, remembering the story.
"That's funny. You girls are funny. I'm a baroness, not a witch." Baroness said, laughing.
"I don't eat disgusting children. I only eat sweet treats." Baroness said as she ate a small cookie.
"Oh really?" Kailey asked.
"Yes, really." Baroness answered.
"Maybe she won't hurt us. Maybe we could have a little bit of sweets?" Hailey whispered.
"Not a little bit. All of it! Just as long as you girls don't break my two rules. Rule number one! Tell no one about Sugarland. Rule number two! Eat all the candy you desire just not my candy castle." Baroness explained.
Both girls looked at each other. Hailey gives Kailey the puppy dog eyes, wanting to eat some sweets. Hailey sighed and said,
"Well, okay. But just for a while."
"You're the best sis!" Hailey said and hugged her.
Back at the cottage, Rose arrives to check on the twins, only to realize they were both gone.
"Oh no! They're gone! Where would they go?" Rose asked fearfully.
Rose follows their trail into the forest as she grumbled,
"Gwen, you had one job to do!"
Back in Sugarland, both girls started to eat all the sweets around them from frosting covered mountains, candy cane trees, chocolates, cookies, lollipops and ice cream. After a while, both girls were stuffed from eating too much that they started to feel sick.
Kailey weakly gets up to find some water to drink to settle her stomach. She heads to the exit to go back to the cottage, only to hear her cousin Rose calling her and Hailey names.
"Hailey! Kailey! Where are you?" Rose called.
Hailey goes into the forest to find Rose.
"Rose? Is that you?" Kailey called, slurring.
Rose comes running up to Kailey.
"There you are! What are you doing out here? You know you weren't supposed to leave the cottage!" Rose scolded.
"We did, but we lost our baseball and Hailey insisted we go find it, but then a giant peppermint candy lured us to Sugarland of candy and sweets and…" Kailey explained until she realized too late, she broke rule number one and covered her mouth.
"Okay, that's definitely not what I thought you were gonna say." Rose said, confused until she suddenly remembered something.
"Wait, Sugarland? That realm with that crazy, child-eating Baroness Gwen warned me about?" Rose asked nervously.
Kailey gasped, realizing the Baroness does eat children after all.
"Where's your sister? We gotta get her out of there!" Rose asked.
"Oh, she's still back in Sugarland!" Kailey just remembered.
Rose and Kailey run back to Sugarland, only to find Hailey taking a little bite out of the candy castle.
"Hailey! No!" Kailey yelled.
"Oh, it was just a little bite!" Hailey argued.
"Hailey!" Rose scolded.
"Cousin Rose! What are you doing here?" Hailey asked.
"You girls weren't supposed to leave the cottage! We're going home, now!" Rose scolded and prepared to take the twins back home.
Just then, they hear the Baroness laughing.
"Naughty! Naughty! You girls broke the two rules! You even brought an intruder to Sugarland!"
The Baroness appeared on top of her castle, laughing manically.
Rose looked at Baroness in a creeped-out way.
"Gwen was right about you." Rose said, holding her cousins close.
"Who did you say? Gwen? Oh yeah, I missed her. I want her to come back. Perhaps having you three here will… persuade her." Baroness said evilly.
"No! Please don't eat us!" Hailey begged.
"Bleh! For the last time, I don't eat disgusting children! Only sweet treats." Baroness reminded her.
Suddenly, Rose felt something different on her cousins.
"What happened to your arms?" Rose asked, noticing Hailey and Kailey's arms transforming into sugar cookie-like arms.
Hailey gasped at her arms turning into cookie arms.
"What's happening?! Help me Kailey! Kailey?" Hailey yelled until she noticed Kailey transforming too.
"No! No! Help me!" Kailey yelled until she finally transformed into a human-shapped sugar cookie along with Hailey.
Both girls look at their new forms and screamed. Rose looked in horror and prepared to protect them. Baroness giggled and looked at the twins.
"Now you look… DELICIOUS!" Baroness yelled menacingly.
Both girls screamed in horror as the candy-castle woke up and roared. Rose lifted both girls up and started running away back to the exit. Rose runs up the path to reach the exit. But she is out breath from carrying her cousins in their cookie forms. In a last-ditch effort, she quickly shoves her cousins out of Sugarland, only to feel something grab her foot and lift her up. Rose screamed as the candy-castle snatched her up, hanging her upside-down.
"Naughty, naughty human taking away my snacks!" Baroness taunted.
The candy-castle roared in Rose's face.
"You know, last time I captured Gwen like this, I wanted to keep her with me… forever!" Baroness explained.
"Why my sister?" Rose asked.
Rose's eyes popped, realizing too late what she blurted out.
"Wait, Gwen is your sister?!" Baroness asked.
"Oh no." Rose said worryingly.
"You, my dear will be the perfect bait to lure your sister Gwen back!" Baroness said evilly.
Back at the cottage, Gwen returns from work, only to find her cousins gone.
"Oh no! Where are they?!" Gwen asked fearfully.
Gwen runs off into the forest to find them.
"You both better not be far!" Gwen said angrily.
Gwen looked around, only to notice the giant peppermint candy roll up to her. Gwen's eyes widened, realizing Baroness von Bon Bon has struck again. She notices a note on the candy and takes it.
"Gwen, I had my friends remove that boulder you used to block the entrance to Sugarland! I lured two little girls to eat my sweets and they broke the two rules, and your dear sister saved them but not herself. If you don't want my candy-castle to eat her, come back to Sugarland to be my best friend. I'll be waiting. Your best friend, Baroness von Bon Bon."
Gwen grew furious at Baroness luring her cousins and her sister to Sugarland. She runs to the tree where the entrance to Sugaland was still intact. To her horror, she finds her cousins turned into sugar cookies laying on the ground crying.
"Hailey! Kailey!" Gwen exclaimed.
Both girls gasped.
"Gwen? Is that you?" Hailey asked.
"Gwen! Help us!" Kailey cried.
Gwen knelt down to them, grabbed her ink pen and magically transformed her cousins back into their human forms. Hailey and Kailey both stood up on their feet and hug Gwen crying.
"We're so sorry Gwen!" Hailey tearfully apologized.
"Girls! This is why I told you not to leave the cottage! There's danger out there! You both deliberately disobeyed me!" Gwen scolded.
"Cousin Rose is in trouble! That evil Baroness kidnapped her!" Kailey said.
Gwen looked at the entrance to Sugarland, realizing she must go back to save her sister.
"Girls, follow that path and get back to the cottage! I'll get Rose back! And you two better be there when we come back!" Gwen warned them.
Both girls run up the dirt road, back to the cottage.
Gwen stood up and prepared herself mentally.
"Note to self: Don't eat anything and don't get eaten." Gwen reminded herself.
She runs into Sugarland, runs down the candy path to find Baroness and the candy-castle. Then, she hears a familiar voice giggling.
"Welcome back Gwen! I knew you'd be back!" Baroness called.
Gwen prepared for a fight as the candy-castle approached her with Baroness on the top.
"Where's Rose?! Let her go!" Gwen yelled.
"So, that's her name. Rose. What a pretty name." Baroness said as the candy castle lifted up a candy cane-cage with Rose trapped inside.
"Rose!" Gwen exclaimed.
"I'm okay Gwen! Did you find our cousins?" Rose asked.
"Yes, I changed them back and sent them home!" Gwen answered.
"Oh, good!" Rose said, feeling relieved.
"Oh, those two brats are your cousins? What a coincidence! Now that I have you back, I'm gonna make sure you never leave this time!" Baroness said evilly.
With quick thinking, Gwen fired her cyan-beam attack at the candy-castle's arm, making him drop the candy cane-cage and broke open, thus freeing Rose. But before Rose could run further, the candy-castle grabbed Rose and prepared to drop her into his mouth. Rose screamed as the castle dropped her. But Gwen quickly used telekinesis to save her from being eaten just in time before the castle chomped her. Gwen brings Rose back to her and both make a run for it.
"Gwen! You were supposed to make sure they stayed at the cottage! Didn't you tell them that?!" Rose scolded.
"I'm sorry, but I had to go to work! I have to make money too you know! Besides, I did tell them to stay there but they disobeyed me!" Gwen argued.
Both girls almost make it until the giant peppermint candy blocks their way. Then they hear Baroness cackling.
"I'm coming for you humans!"
Baroness yelled out as they were getting closer. Gwen frantically thought for a moment then got an idea. Gwen used her laser blast to blow up the peppermint candy just as the candy-castle jumped into the air. Gwen and Rose quickly run out of the exit, only for them to get splashed out by the frosting from the impact of the candy-castle's landing.
Gwen magically makes another giant boulder block the entrance to Sugarland as they were swept away by the frosting wave.
"Aw licorice sticks! They escaped?!" Baroness yelled frustratingly.
"Gwen's cousins looked so tasty, and I almost had her this time!" Baroness said sadly.
Then Baroness calmed down.
"But they'll be back. They always come back!" Baroness said and laughed menacingly.
Back in the forest, Gwen and Rose managed to land safely after the frosting stopped flowing. Both girls groaned as Gwen helped Rose up.
"Are you okay sis?" Gwen asked.
"I'm fine sis. And you?" Rose asked.
"I'm okay. Let's head back before something else happens!" Gwen said.
"Agreed!" Rose agreed.
They both run back to the cottage, all covered in frosting. They find Hailey and Kailey groaning in pain from stomach aches from eating too many sweets.
"Hailey! Kailey! What's wrong?!" Gwen asked fearfully.
"We feel so sick!" Hailey groaned.
Gwen and Rose each carry their cousins and head to the cabin to take care of them. They lay the girls in bed and give them glasses of water and medicine. Gwen and Rose leave their cousins to rest and they both go downstairs to talk.
"I'm so sorry Rose! I didn't think they'd disobey me, and that Baroness von Cuckoo Pants would strike again." Gwen apologized.
"Well, you had to go to work, and they should've known better than to run off since they're old enough." Rose admitted after thinking about it.
"How am I ever gonna explain this to Aunt Mildred and Uncle George? They trusted me and now they're gonna kill me!" Gwen asked as she sunk her head into her hands.
Rose put her hand on Gwen's shoulder.
"We're not gonna tell them. We're gonna heal our cousins, put them on a 'no sweets' diet and act like it never happened." Rose explained the plan.
"You sure about this? How do we know they're not gonna tell their parents?" Gwen asked.
"Oh, they won't. They would ground them and they don't like that." Rose assured her sister.
"Okay, sis. What would I do without you?" Gwen asked.
"That's what I'm here for." Rose said as they both smiled.
They both go back upstairs to check on Hailey and Kailey.
"How are you two feeling? A little sugar hangover?" Gwen asked.
"I am never going to eat sweets again! Well, maybe on occasions but that's it." Hailey said weakly.
"Same here." Kailey agreed weakly.
"I hope you girls learned something from all of this." Rose said.
"Yes Rose. We sure did. Never trust someone who offers candy and sweets." Kailey said.
"And to never go wandering off in places you are not familiar with! I should know! You both could've been killed!" Gwen added.
"And me too." Rose added.
"I'll start eating my veggies from now on. I promise!" Hailey said.
"Yes, me too! I'll start eating healthy!" Kailey agreed.
"That's more like it." Gwen said, approving their answer.
Later, both girls recovered and join Elder Kettle and the cups for dinner. Gwen watched satisfyingly at her cousins willingly eat their vegetables without complaining. But just as Elder Kettle offered them dessert, both girls turned them down and both help with the cleanup, leaving Elder Kettle and the cups confused.
Gwen takes her cousins back to the cabin for bed and tucks them into bed. Then, she heads to bed in the master bedroom.
The next morning, the twins pack their bags and prepared to go home. Gwen escorts them through the door portal with Rose waiting for them. Both twins feel nervous about their parents coming and Gwen takes notice.
"Girls, what's wrong?" Gwen asked.
"Mama and papa are gonna kill us for breaking the rules!" Hailey said.
"Yeah, they're gonna ground us for eating too much sweets!" Kailey added.
"Girls, relax. Nothing's gonna happen." Rose assured them.
Just then, the car drives up and Mildred and George arrive to pick their daughters up.
"Hailey! Kailey! My darlings!" Mildred said happily and hugs her daughters.
George also hugged his daughters.
"So, how was your vacation with your cousin?" George asked.
Both girls hesitated to answer until Gwen lied and said,
"Oh, it was great! Smooth sailing. Clear waters."
"Oh great! We'll have to do this again sometime! Come on George, let's get their bags in the car." Mildred said to George.
"Alright dear." George said as they both took a suitcase.
Both girls looked at Gwen.
"Gwen, thanks for not ratting us out and saving our lives." Hailey thanked.
"Is there anything we can do to repay you?" Kailey asked.
"Well, there's three things. One: Eat your vegetables. Two: No more indulging on sweets. Three: Stay out of trouble." Gwen stated her conditions.
"We promise!" Both girls said together.
"Alright girls! Time to go home!" Mildred called.
Gwen and Rose hug their cousins goodbye and watch them get in the car and drive away.
Gwen and Rose head back to the cabin to clean up. Gwen feels guilty for the Baroness attacking her cousins and sister.
"I'm so sorry for all this Rose. Maybe I'm not fit to be a parent if Clarence and I have kids someday." Gwen apologized.
"Hey, we all make mistakes. Besides, you're still too young for you and Clarence to have kids. Don't think about it. Besides, this'll be a good experience for you to learn if you do become a mother someday." Rose assured her.
Gwen thought for a moment and said,
"I guess you're right."
"Oh, I know I'm right." Rose said.
Later, Rose returned home to William and her twins Emma and Jack. Gwen returned to the cottage with Elder Kettle and the cups. Hailey and Kailey learned to eat their vegetables and to only have limited dessert on special occasions. Gwen learned to be more responsible with children, especially with the cups since she still helps Elder Kettle keep an eye on them.
