The grandiose El tree, a massive tree that erects near Elder city, in the green woods that surround the ever growing city. It's a place that used to be of huge importance, and the base of a team of renowned heroes known as the El Search Party. A team of people that despite their lack of common ties and different goals, put all that aside to protect the world.

However, all of that happened ages ago. So much time has passed that this sacred place has been forgotten by the world. As the cities grew bigger and the technology advanced, magic became a folklore legend, and heroes became a myth. The El tree is now just a bigger tree in the forest that nobody cares about. Despite its strange glow, nobody can actually come here to investigate, as the entire area surrounding the tree has become the grounds of a huge manor built right under its leaves. A manor that most people think to be abandoned, while others believe it's from some rich family from overseas. Whatever the truth is, it's not like they cared.

This manor however had a faint glow coming from the inside. A weak voice could be heard echoing across the empty hallways, as a single room was illuminated. An image was being projected on a big white projector screen. There, a tall white haired lady was walking behind a shorter purple haired girl.

"Come on, Eve! The market is going to be closed by the time we get there!"

"I was under the impression you weren't interested in the market, Aisha."

The shorter girl turned around with a beaming smile on her face.

"I'm not really interested in the market but," she said, walking closer to Eve, "it's the first time you ask me out on a date!"

"I-It's not a date…" Eve answered in a hurry, however she stopped quickly, eyeing Aisha for a moment and then looking away "I just wanted someone to run an errand with me."

"That's a minor detail!" Aisha said, wrapping Eve's hand between hers and tugging from her arm "It's still the first time you're asking me to go somewhere with you since we…"

Aisha was about to say something when her eyes met with the recording point of view. Her eyes widened in surprise and then a naughty smile appeared on her lips. Eve caught notice of this gesture and glared at the camera as well.

"Moby! Are you recording?! Cease now!" Eve ordered, her voice loudly echoing through the manor. An unusual tone for the quiet and collected queen followed by the faintest trace of pink on her cheeks.

The projection changed to gray static before it was interrupted. In front of the screen, a white haired tall figure emerged from a couch, touching with her hand a black metallic drone resting on the table. The drone beeped and took flight, circling around the head of his master a few moments before flying towards the door.

"Enough reminiscing, Moby, we have things to do," Eve said, noticing Remy arriving at the room right now. The white drone floated in front of Eve and projected an image of a young looking Nasod girl with pink hair and yellow eyes.

"Lady Eve, we are ready for routine procedure Nº3123642-N. We are waiting for you."

"I'll be there in a second."

Remy cut the transmission and the three of them started making their way to the hall of the manor. They did not go outside however, as they turned around the wide stairs leading to the second floor and accessed a door below them, where the old style wooden walls and red velvet carpet of the classic manor made way to a white and sterile oval space. An elevator hidden under the stairs that lead straight down. They rode the elevator for a few minutes in complete silence. Eve couldn't help but recall her own memory of the recording she was watching.

"As I was saying, it's our first date after you…" Aisha was about to say when Eve pressed a finger against her lips.

"Stop talking about that already."

"Oh? Are you perhaps embarrassed? The great Eve, the emotionless Nasod, nemesis of the lost race and wielder of world-ending weapons… is embarrassed about a little kiss?"

Aisha covered her mouth and giggled, she was enjoying being the one that for once could make Eve feel flustered. She smiled seeing a red tone covering Eve's nose.

"T-This is just anger! Look, you made me so mad!" Eve said, looking away with a red nose, red cheeks and, if she had them, possibly red ears as well.

"Oh no… are you going to punish me?" Aisha asked in a mischievous tone. Eve glared at her, daring Aisha to pursue that joke any further. The elemental mage knew better than to push the limits, or that shy blush would actually become a volcano of rage. "Sorry love, It's just, I love seeing this side of you as well… and since we're going to spend the whole day with people around, I wanted to take the chance now."

As long as she said that, Eve flickered her hair, she looked away from her but slightly opened one eye to check on Aisha, her face returning to a perfectly clear white. Aisha gingerly approached her and gently held her chin before kissing her cheek. Eve waited a moment before clearing her throat and moving forward.

"Let's go, we'll be late for real," she said. There was another tiny emotion in her tone this time, although it was shyness or anger. It was the soft feeling of happiness that she only allowed Aisha to witness.

The elevator gates opened, revealing a long corridor ending on an elevated walkway that oversighted a bussy laboratory. The place was huge, housing at least a thousand Nasods that worked around the clock. All of them separated in small groups, focusing on a particular task. Looking from above, you could see how they made small booths for each group on this open space, and they were all set in a line, starting from a group that produced blueprints for what seemed to be a humanoid looking Nasod and delivered that to the next booth, where they produced a more complex design before sending it to the next one. With each step, the idea made by the first group was taking shape and eventually, on the other end of the line, a completed Nasod was being placed in a preservation capsule.

Eve made her way straight to the end, where many preservation capsules housed an infinity of Nasod. They all looked similar to her, at least in a way, but at the same time were completely different. A group of Nasod was waiting for Eve to arrive, they had taken one of the pods lining the walls and lowered it to a small platform. The pod opened and they pumped energy into the Nasod sleeping inside until she opened her eyes. This new Nasod took a few steps out of the pod, looking around as a newborn who just saw the world for the first time. Eve approached her and took her hand, causing the Nasod to focus her eyes on her. She had beautiful blue eyes and long silver hair with a blue inner tone. Eve then gently placed her hand on the blue jewel of this Nasod's forehead and a stream of data started flowing into her.

As the newly awakened Nasod assimilated this data, she straightened her posture, and turned her eyes to Eve, lowering her head in a gentle bow. The other Nasods covered her naked body with a coat and Eve nodded at her, letting her go and join the working Nasods in the lab. Meanwhile, on the other end of the preservation pods' storage, a different Nasod just left their post and entered an empty pod, falling into a long slumber.

"Another day and another successful procedure of Project Eve." The same Nasod girl from before announced "When will we release all produced units into the world?"

Eve looked at her and then at the many pods resting there. This has been her goal ever since she first woke up in Altera so many centuries ago. A goal that at times seemed impossible but was now simply waiting for her to press a button. There was a single problem:

"The world… has changed. We are… not needed." Eve explained. Her words devoid of emotion, yet she took her time to pronounce them, as if trying to add an extra weight to them.

In a sense, it was true. The world had truly changed. Ever since humans discovered electricity, El energy became an afterthought. With technology and time, magic and Nasods became buried in the unstoppable sands of time. People of today thought about Nasods as an old science-fiction tale. And magic was something only idiots would believe in. Releasing the Nasod produced here into this world… would the humans of today perceive them as a new friend? Or a new enemy?

"Of course, your orders are my command lady Eve," the Nasod girl responded, not giving any sign of having understood Eve's words at all, "Oh, on another note. We have a guest in the laboratory. He said he knows you and wanted to speak with you. Should I eject him from the lab?"

"A guest?!" Eve questioned, surprised at the thought of having a guest, even more they came straight here to the lab.

"Affirmative. A man that claims to be a part of the El Search Party. He didn't provide any further details."

Hearing this, Eve's expression sombered. There were only two possibilities about this guest: One was a prankster that somehow made their way into the lab. In which case she was ready to have them launched through the vacuum messaging tubes. Another one was a man she hadn't seen for centuries, and didn't even want to see. She entered the guest room, something that was built in the lab just for design and was never used, and her fears were confirmed… albeit in a weird way. What was before her was a child of pale purple hair and scarred face. Purple energy sipped from his scars as he lifted his head to look at her. He covered his body in an oversized hoodie and had a somewhat depressed look on his face.

"... Add?" Eve tentatively asked, unsure of what this was. As far as she knew, Add passed away 1134 years ago, and he never had any descendants, as well as any known relatives.

"Yes." He answered. His voice wasn't the annoying and bratty tone she was used to hearing from him, but rather a calm and tired one "I understand your confusion, after all, the me from this timeline must be long gone."

Eve processed what he just said. She remembered Add being obsessed with two things: one was Nasods, the other one was bringing back his mother. He did mention time travel as a solution for the second, yet even someone as annoyingly mad as him knew it was pure daydreaming. Did this kid before her actually succeed?

"I apologize for intruding in your lab, but I come with an urgent message… or rather, an important favor to ask. It's a matter of life and death. The El Search Party I come from is in grave danger."

"Can you explain yourself?" Eve said. Add nodded, and he gestured for someone else in the room. Eve followed the direction of his gesture and was shocked when she saw there was someone else here. A tall white haired girl with Nasod-like features. She was seeing herself, however something was different. When their eyes met, she felt like a void was staring her back.

Wearing pure white with a black metallic skirt of sharp spikes. A dress that wrapped around her shoulders like a veil and long flowing hair. The lack of emotion and a gaze completely devoid of life. Eve recognized it quickly. This "Eve" had activated a certain code different to the one she used. One that had a high price to pay.

"I see you don't need an introduction," Add said, noticing Eve's reaction and the lack of reaction from "Eve". "In that case, let me cut to the case. Our party is doomed to fall at Velder."

"Velder?" Eve asked, scanning her memories.

"I guess I should still explain. I've been observing many different timelines and parallel worlds. In all of them, when we face off against the demons in Velder, we have to start an evacuation of the city, and narrowly escape death thanks to Elesis arriving with reinforcements at the last minute. Unfortunately, for my timeline, Elesis won't arrive in time."

"How are you so sure about that?"

"I observed my own timeline and discovered that. Not only that, I also discovered that no matter how hard I try, I can't make changes to my own timeline… that's where you come in. Your timeline is unusual from all the others I know. Mainly, this timeline seems to be set centuries ahead of ours. Time differences are not uncommon, but they are usually only a few months of years apart."

"Do you want me to tell you how to deal with the demons?" Eve questioned.

"No. As I said, no matter what I do, I can't change the timeline myself. I theorize it's a rule of space time continuum…" Add explained, however he realized he was starting to deviate from his mission here and corrected himself "What I mean is, I can't change it, but you can. That's why I brought her here."

As he spoke, the other Eve took a step forward.

"I noticed during my observation of this universe… you sometimes reminisce about your time with the El Search Party," Add started to say "so… I'm proposing that you make a temporary exchange. She will stay here, and you will come to our timeline and help us change the future. I know you bear a huge resentment for me, but this will affect the others too."

Eve looked away from Add and met the other Eve's eyes.

"The human speaks the truth. I verified it myself." The other Eve clarified. Her voice was as empty as her eyes. Completely devoid of any tone, emotion and even with a metallic echo that separated her from humanity.

"What about Rena? She's still alive. Why not ask her?" Eve questioned.

"The method I use to travel between dimensions would kill her." Add explained, he lifted his arms as if trying to point at his own body "After all my countermeasures, safewards and Nasod augments, this is what has become of me. I am able to surf the time sands now but there's no way I can bring Rena here and take Rena there before my timeline is ruined."

Eve crossed her arms and paced back and forth in the room. Going to that timeline meant she would be meeting her friends again. Or… a version of them to be more precise. Just the day Moby decided to show her that recording again, this seemed like some kind of joke.

The El Search Party she knew was long gone… The Aisha she loved… was gone as well. All she had were her memories.

"Eve, I told you there was no need…"

Eve ignored her protest and placed the tray in front of Aisha. Though her face was now covered in wrinkles and her body was frail and weak, her eyes still had that pure sparkle of energy from her youth. Aisha extended her hand and caressed Eve's check before starting to eat.

"I was able to get in touch with a doctor from Sander, they'll be here by noon…" Eve started to say, yet was interrupted by Aisha laughing.

"Eve, my love… I already told you… there is no need. I'm sorry to tell you, but I won't be here forever."

Eve looked away, walking towards the window. She waited in silence, knowing the speech Aisha was about to say already.

"You already know it. We humans only last for this long…" Aisha said, her smile still on her lips "You, however, will be here for much longer… and I'm worried about you."

"Aisha, I already told you-" Eve turned around to replicate, but Aisha pressed a finger against her lips.

"You used to do this all the time, It's finally my turn," she said with a laugh, and then continued "Eve, promise me. You'll move on. I know you can't forget things like humans do so… when the time comes, you'll have to get rid of these memories in your own way."

Get rid of those memories. Eve wasn't sure if Aisha knew what that meant. For a Nasod like her, forgetting was almost impossible. Her memory was stored in her core in the form of data. And unless the core became damaged from some external source, she would never forget anything unless… she deletes it.

Deleting her memories would mean never knowing Aisha was part of her life. The pictures she has with her would become fiction to her eyes and the stories from Moby and Remy would feel like strange fake fabrications. It would surely help her move on, but it was such a horrible way of doing it Eve couldn't accept it, no matter how long it had been since she made that promise.

"So… what's your answer?"

"I'll go."

The other Eve didn't need much explanation about what to do in Eve's lab. It was her calling after all. Eve joined Add into this journey across dimensions. Once she was ready, Moby and Remy landed on her shoulders. Add pulled up a few holographic projections and started typing. A purple ball of energy enveloped them and as if a huge river had washed them, they were pulled away from where they were, traveling a across an alien space that felt like an endless stream of images, sounds, voices, scents… looking into the stream was enough to make Eve feel discomfort, as if too much information was trying to flow into her mind at once. After the initial trepidation, the waters seemed to calm down, and now their small purple ball was drifting slowly across this limitless ocean.

"So… how's the world of the future?" Add asked, feeling like silence was becoming too awkward.

"Humans advanced and forgot about our time. They built machines to make their life easier that feel archaic compared to Nasods, and even created a wireless network of information, but for some reason are afraid of being able to interact with it directly so they started burning their transmission towers…" Eve explained, she didn't let Add make any more questions, as she was already disgusted enough having to share this cramped bubble with him.

They finally arrived at their destination. It felt as if they suddenly plummeted down a waterfall, causing the bubble to burst and expel them. Eve landed on the ground and looking around noticed she was in the middle of the street in Velder. Dozens of people runned from one side to another, packing things into their backpacks. She could hear a blue-haired Velder soldier yell orders for the citizens to evacuate. It was a bit different, but Eve quickly remembered, this was the day of the evacuation. In a few hours they would be heading for the South gate and leave for Hamel. At least, that's what happened in her own world.

"We'll regroup with the party and then…" Add started to say, but he noticed Eve was walking away "Where are you going?"

"Don't worry about it, I'll deal with things on my own. Go back to the party and make sure they're safe."

Add wondered if he made the right decision. Trying to peer into the future now was impossible. Eve being here was like a huge interference, causing the future to appear to him as a distorted mess of incomprehensible possibilities. But this was the exact reason he brought her here.

Eve walked alone across Velder's streets. Due to the demon invasion there wasn't a single soul around. The demons were gathering for their last assault at South gate and most of the city was burned down. She moved quietly, trying not to draw any unnecessary attention. She was headed for the merchant district, where the flames still raged.

"That was amazing! I never imagined Elesis to be such a crazy strong fighter!"

A very excited Aisha shouted, prompting Eve to remind her to stay quiet, pointing at the moon high in the sky. They were aboard a ship towards Hamel and Aisha was feeling too energized to sleep after the epic battle they went through.

"But that stupid Elsword almost gave me a heart attack, I thought he was going to die!" Aisha complained "Next time that idiot does something like that I'm not even worrying about it."

"Aisha, about that… this journey is going to get even more dangerous. I told you, if I come across the ring I'll retrieve it for you. You can opt out of this journey, there's no reason for taking the risk…"

"Oh, I know, I'm just a puny little human that hasn't advanced from living in caves and hitting things with a stick and I'll die if anything as fickle as a breeze hits me," Aisha said in a mockery tone imitating a nagging grandma.

"T-That's not what I meant," Eve replied. She was struggling to reorganize her words when she felt Aisha's hands cup her face."

"I'm sorry. I took that joke too far. I know when it comes to you, I'm just taking a short ride in your life… But precisely because of that, I don't want to waste a single second of it. So… no more talk about going back home while you're out there living adventures without me!"

Aisha laughed, and for a brief moment it seemed like her laugh had infected Eve as well. They fell silent and Aisha leaned closer to Eve, gently kissing her. Eve embraced Aisha and let her lie down in her lap. Caressing her hair, Aisha finally quieted down enough to sleep. Eve looked at her pace, peacefully resting in her lap and let out a sigh.

The merchant district was busy today. However instead of merchants and guests, it was full of glitter demons and dark elves. All of them are scrambling to reorganize. Eve easily avoided them flying from one roof to another. She was looking for a particular target. She spotted her mark: a dark elf of light pink hair that wears a very skimpy armor. Chloe was shouting orders to her peers as they moved out. Eve moved from one roof to another, stalking the elf commander. According to her memories, Chloe would lay in ambush near the South gate and reveal her trump card there.

As soon as Chloe broke away from her allies, Eve landed in front of her. The sound of two heavy steps echoed through the street, causing Chloe to stop and draw her bow immediately. Then she recognized Eve.

"Oh, you again?!" she said, drawing an arrogant smile on her face "Eve, was it? Did you get lost? And what's up with that getup? Are you in an emo phase or something like that? What happened to your white robes?"

Eve didn't say anything to Chloe, she lifted her arm towards her and let Moby and Remy launch towards her. Chloe pulled her bowstring and dark energy flowed into the bow, making arrows appear on it. She fired fast, raining arrows towards Eve's drones.

"This won't be like Hope's bridge. I won't get caught off guard this time by that stupid redhead again!" Chloe confidently said "And you even came here alone. I'll kill you and show your broken doll body to your friends!"

Moby and Remy maneuvered across the arrow rain and then dived towards Chloe. She rolled dodging Remy and jumped over Moby, unsheathing her knife and charging towards Eve. She slashed at the Nasod with a wicked smile on her face. Eve took a step back, narrowly avoiding the knife from cutting her face and called back Moby and Remy, using them as steps to jump away from Chloe's reach. The dark elf didn't wait to continue her attack and used her bow, training an arrow at Eve and firing. As the first arrow left the string, Chloe pulled it back with unbelievable speed and charged it with energy again, launching another flurry of arrows in a second.

"You're dead, pretty doll!"

Her arrows rained down on Eve, bursting into energy on impact. A dust cloud formed from all the explosions and Chloe laughed, pulling her knife out and swirling it between her fingers as she made her way towards Eve.

"I'm sorry, I guess you just got lost on your way home, it's a pity you crossed my path," Chloe said, licking the edge of her knife "Now, let me get that pretty head of yours."

As she approached the dust, she noticed a figure still standing there. She quickly reached for her bow, ready to jump away and fire arrows again, when something clasped down on her wrist. The smoke cleared and she saw Eve standing in front of her. In her hand, between her thumb and index fingers was one of her arrows. Eve snapped it as easy as it would break a twig, and the arrow bursted with energy. It didn't even leave a mark on Eve's skin. She looked at her wrist and saw the Nasod was grabbing her. When she tried to use her knife to stab Eve and free herself, a white flash crossed her eyes right as Remy slammed into her head.

The impact from the drone made her stumble back. Everything was spinning and my ear was ringing. She could feel the lukewarm sensation of blood running down the side of her head and before she could even recover, Eve grabbed her by the neck, lifting her off the ground.

"Back then, I didn't want to touch my enemies even if it was to fight them. An attitude that got me in trouble a few times…" Eve said. Though she was in front of Chloe, it felt as if she were talking to herself. Chloe tried to free herself from Eve's grasp, but Eve pulled her down and suddenly slammed her knee into Chloe's stomach.

The dark elf screamed, coughing blood and falling onto the ground.

"You said you wanted my head to show my friends, right? I guess it's not too far-fetched for a demon… but I have a better idea," Eve said, crouching next to Chloe "Don't worry, I'm taking you back alive. I'm sure the men from the army would be… happy. It's a good thing you're already wearing your underwear."

Chloe was confused for a moment before realizing what Eve meant. She struggled to rise back to her feet and stumble away from Eve.

"Y-You… disgusting bitch… I'll show you…" Chloe said. She raised her hand and pronounced an enchantment. A ray of purple light shot towards the sky and a loud roar shook the city. A huge beast emerged from the smoke of the burning city. Its huge body blocking the entire street. The monster roared again, showing a huge pearl in its mouth.

"Don't even ask for mercy now, bitch!" Chloe yelled. She was ready to take off and leave Eve to fight the dark nephilim when she felt her body was paralyzed. She looked around herself and noticed a bubble of energy all around her. Eve was flying above her and in her hand a flash of light blinded her right as a huge Nasod spear appeared in the palm of her hand. Eve winded back the spear and swung it with all her might.

"I can't believe after all that happened, we have to trust her," Aisha said. They were walking across an alien forest in the dark continent, guided by Chloe. She had changed a lot since they met her in Velder, yet she was as arrogant and distrustful as ever.

"Elsword asked us to give her a chance… I trust him and respect his wish for forgiveness… However, if the one about to be killed in Velder was you, Aisha, I would've chased that dark elf to the end of the world and kill her."

"Even if I asked you not to do it like Elsword did?" Aisha wondered. Eve stopped for a moment.

"I'm the Ultimate Nasod weapon, born from my duty to avenge all the pain my kin has endured… and I added an exception to that directive. I… hum… added your name to that order."

"Really? Wait, are you… proposing to me, Eve?" Aisha jokingly said.

Eve approached Aisha and kneeled in front of her, holding her hand.

"For you Aisha, I would conquer the whole world and bring it back to you on a silver platter," Eve said, kissing Aisha's hand and looking up at her. Aisha could see a faint smile on Eve's lips and her whole face turned red so fast she felt the heat in her own ears.

"Y-You! E-Eve!" Aisha struggled to find what words to say back to her when an annoyed grunting noise interrupted them.

"Can you two keep it in your pants until we get to the village?" A very annoyed Chloe asked.

Mere moments away from hitting Chloe, Eve twisted her hand, avoiding using the edge of the spear and hitting Chloe with the flat side. She was launched out of the energy ball and crashed into a wall. In the same motion, Eve launched the spear in the air and lifting her arm, she directed the blade to hover over the Nephilim's head, who was still distracted showing off its size. The spear came crashing down, impaling the monster before it opened, revealing many small blinking lights that exploded, causing the spear to burst with energy. The beast didn't even have time to roar again and it fell down already dead.

Chloe watched in horror, unsure if this was reality or if she was sent to hell already. When Eve approached her she shuddered.

"P-Please, don't take me to then… j-just kill me." Chloe begged. However, as Eve approached her, she sprung back to her feet, her knife in hand as she thrusted against Eve's side. She laughed as the blade touched Eve's skin, yet her laugh was short, as she heard a loud crack and saw her knife split in two.

"Are you really willing to give away your life?" Eve questioned her "First, a dog of white-ghost castle, and now a pawn of the glitter army."

"W-What?!" Chloe's eyes widened in surprise "H-How do you know-"

"Leave. Don't even go back to Ran. They're all waiting to play you around. Go back to the dark elven forest and… grow up."

With that, Eve pushed Chloe away from her and turned around.

She quietly made her way back, rejoining the defending forces from behind. The glitter army was launching a final assault, but the demons quickly realized something went wrong when the dark elves didn't appear on the battlefield. Soon, the battle was settled even before Elesis arrived with reinforcements. Add looked at Eve and gave her a knowing nod.

After the battle, people started celebrating. The city needed rebuilding and there were still a few fires, however what they needed the most was some morale to get back to their lives. Eve was away from the crowd, watching the boats that the El Search Party would be boarding the day after. Add approached her.

"So… are you staying here?" He asked, "They might need you again, and I can assure you, your replacement must be overjoyed in your lab."

Eve didn't answer right away, and Add was called over by Elsword. As he left, Eve stopped her meditation and turned around.

"Aisha."

Her voice came in a whisper laden with cracks. When she turned around she almost ran into a short girl with purple hair tied up in two twintails. Her sparkly eyes stared at her with a smug smile adorning her lips and she… was wearing something way more scanty than the white robe Eve remembered.

"Yep, that's me." Aisha said with a lively voice "Where were you back there Eve? We were all really worried!"

Eve was speechless. She abruptly turned around. A trembling hand slowly covered her mouth. She felt a heavy pressure in her chest and her eyes started to itch.

"Sorry, I guess I was a bit behind during that battle." Eve managed to say, her monotone voice hardly fooling anyone.

"Are you alright? And… When did you change?" Aisha said, noticing Eve was now wearing not only full black but also a very different kind of suit than a day ago "N-not that It looks bad on you or anything, I was just surprised."

Eve took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and stifled her tears. Slowly turning around to face her.

"She's not her." Eve told herself in her mind.

"Aisha, I'm glad you were worrying about me. But I also think you're not one to talk about my clothes."

As soon as Aisha processed the comment, she suddenly felt self-conscious about her clothes. She reached for the hem of her miniskirt, trying to stretch it over her legs as well as she covered her belly.

"I-I already told you guys this was that stupid flying rat's idea!" Aisha complained with a red face, however her embarrassment quickly faded, as she brought her fingers together trying to hide her shyness "Humm... Eve, I'm glad you're talking again. You made us worried."

Eve glanced over Aisha, seeing her acting shy for the first time ever. It didn't match her looks, but it was probably due to how different this timeline was.

"Aisha, there's something I need to do, I'll see you later."

Eve left without giving Aisha time to say anything. She disappeared for a couple of hours. The feast to celebrate the victory started to die down. People were returning to their beds. Sadly many people would have to sleep in a tent tonight, but at least they had their lives. Add finally managed to shake off Elsword. He insisted on everyone drinking with the soldiers, something Add wasn't willing to do. As he put it himself: "I'm not dumbing myself with that disgusting beverage."

He was looking for Eve, wanting to know what she was going to do. If she was not staying, he would rather send her off tonight, as he was eager to check if the future was now fixed. When he finally spotted her, he noticed Eve was being all shifty as she walked into the party camp and disappeared inside of Aisha's tent.

"Sorry to intrude Aisha, but there was something I needed to do."

"Huh… we share this tent Eve, have you forgotten?" Aisha asked, giggling at Eve's comment.

"I didn't… because I didn't know. I want to tell you something Aisha. Please, keep this a secret."

Eve told Aisha about coming from a different timeline. She left out any detail from her story not related to her fighting Chloe to make sure they would not face death. Aisha felt like this story was unbelievable, except that it actually made sense. When Eve finished, it was actually Aisha the one letting out a sigh of relief.

"I knew it…" Aisha said "I mean, I felt something was off, but there was no way I could tell you're from another universe. But… Why tell me this? And what about our Eve?"

"That's what I wanted to talk about," Eve said. She called for Remy and the small drone came into the tent, dropping a small piece of plastic into her hand. Aisha tried to see what it was but Eve was holding it close to her chest inside her fist. "Many years ago, when Eve went into cryosleep, she didn't have with her the finished codes she was meant to use. Only one of them was intended to be used, but the other two were made as a last ditched resource. One of those two is mine, the code to become a weapon capable of fighting off any enemy of the Nasod… and the other one was used by your Eve. A code to turn her body into a catalyst of energy to power the race back into life. Unfortunately, without the finished code and the necessary means, there's only one way that code can work: using the circuits dedicated for emotions and memories as energy catalysts."

Aisha's eyes widened hearing this. She shook her head trying to understand all that Eve said.

"So you mean…"

"She sacrificed a lot for her goal. And it will only get worse. As she develops the code forcefully, she'll become an entity of pure energy, but will not even resemble a person anymore," Eve stated. Aisha swayed in place, however Eve took a step forward and offered her this piece of plastic she was holding. It was a small device with a plug on one end.

"W-What is this?"

"Let's say… I had some free time in my timeline to work on this. It's a decoder that will allow her to undo the change. It also has the finished code that was meant for her. I… don't need it myself anymore, but she… well, she doesn't know it right now but she'll deeply regret it if she doesn't use this."

"Y-You mean, she won't be sad-..." Aisha started to say before correcting herself "You mean Eve will be better off with this?"

Eve smiled at her and pushed the drive into Aisha's hands.

"But why are you giving it to me? Why not give it to her directly?"

"Because… only you can bring her back from the dark place she's in right now. Trust me, you'll bring her back. As long as you remind her what love is."

"H-How do you know?"

"You came looking for me earlier, right? I've only been here for a few hours but I already can tell people can't get along with what Eve has become, yet you're willing to break that obstacle."

Aisha was about to answer but nothing came out of her mouth. She was red as a beet. Eve smiled at her and gently patted her head. She looked at the flustered Aisha with melancholy and sadness, yet she forced herself to turn around. She spotted Add in the camp already looking for her.

"We're leaving." Eve said.

"Are you sure? They might be in danger again. And you could stay with Aisha longer."

"No. Aisha… deserves to find her happiness. It wouldn't be right for me to steal that spot from my homonim. Not to mention, I'm not the one that Aisha loves," Eve said. She looked towards Aisha's tent and saw Aisha holding the drive in her hands, a few tears in her eyes "Life is full of good and bad, and they deserve to have those together. Besides, I already know this story will end well."

"I'm not sure what you're talking about, but whatever, let's get back to your world."

"You know, one of the main reasons I hated Add was because despite his arrogance and exacerbated ego, he was incredibly stupid. You became a kid again, so make sure your brain doesn't end up like his."

"I can't help but feel like that was an insult."

Their journey back was much smoother than the first time. Perhaps because Eve already knew what to expect. They found the other "Eve" still in her laboratory. The working Nasod didn't realize their leader had been swapped, despite how Add said they actually were gone for over a month. Before they left, Eve approached her other self and whispered into her ear.

"I know things are hard now, but you have her to help you. You know who I'm talking about."

As Eve said this, she felt a tiny response from the other "Eve", and it brought a smile to her lips. She tapped her shoulder and let them leave.

A few days later, Eve left the manor with a small envelope in her hands. She walked the path towards the El tree and into a small enclosure near the base of the majestic trunk. A building sat there. Though it was small, it was adorned with gold and silver from bottom to top. Eve pushed the old iron gates and entered. There she found a few statues around a round room. Each one depicting a hero of the former El Search Party, with a tomb at their feet. Eve approached Aisha's statue. It showed the talented magician wielding her staff and evoking her might. Quite an inspiring sight that rose over a slab of gold where Aisha's name was engraved. Eve crouched next to the tomb and placed a hand against the gold. She spotted a fresh flower on the tomb from a variety only found in elven territory. Next to it, she placed a small metallic piece.

"Aisha, I'm sorry I can't forget you. But… I'm keeping my promise. I'm moving on… with our memories. This small device has a copy of my favorite memories of you." Eve said. She whipped her tears and sat next to the tomb "I got an opportunity that never in a million years I would've predicted… and I realized something. I can't forget like humans do because I misunderstood how humans remember things. People will always remember things, even if that memory changes, it's still true for them. They don't forget what they lost, instead they remember what they had. And I want to do that as well. I won't think of you as someone I lost anymore, instead I'll be happy that we ever got to be together."

Eve stood up, she kissed her fingers and pressed them on the grave.

"Oh and I don't care if you don't like kids, I'm telling the new Nasods you were their mother." Eve said with a smile "If the world is not ready to receive them, well, that's their problem!"
