On a mission somewhere:

„Come on, Mac, hurry up! We've got to go. We don't have time for this shit.

"Jack, I know, but this is really important. This is our whole mission: get the device and then go. But guess what? We don't have the device yet. So hold up."

„Yeah then hurry the Fuck up I can't hold those bastards back anymore there are to many".

Yeah just a normal conversation between Mac and Jack. Jack shooting evrything that is moving and Mac trying his best to get the mission done as fast as possible. But what Jack dosen't know yet that Mac takes so long because he has to stop the bomb infront of him first.

„Ok got it im done with the bomb and got the device. Im coming to you now".

„What did you say Mac I didn't hear'ya".

„I said im done" Mac said to Jack after he returned to him and was now behind Jack.

"AHH" Jack screamed while turning around and punching Mac with full force right into his face. Mac stumbled a few steps back before he collapsed to the ground, hitting his head on the edge of a small table behind him.

„Shit, Mac don't scare me like that". Jack said after he realized that he just punched Mac in the face and watched him stumble and fall to the ground.

"Mac, buddy, can you hear me? Please wake up. I could use some help over here," Jack said, shooting another guy. But Mac didn't move he stayed unconscious. After five minutes, Jack shot the last guy with his last bullet. When he turned around and rushed to Mac, he saw Mac's eyes fluttering open, but his eyes wouldn't focus on him or anything else; they stayed unfocused.

"Mac, hey buddy, let me see those baby blues come on man look at me" Jack said a little bit worried.

Mac groaned and pulled up a hand to his violently throbbing head. Wincing when he touched the spot wich hurted the most. He had a pretty nasty cut a little bit under his hairline and it was bleeding really bad. After a moment Mac's eyes focoussed on the figure in front of him. First he couldn't see who it was but after just 2 seconds Mac recognized the smell of motoroil and gunpowder. Then he knew it was Jack but it was really hard for him to concentrate on him and to hear what Jack was saying.

"Mac, hey come on, Hoss, you're scaring me. Can you hear me?" Jack was really panicking now. It's been 8 minutes since he punched Mac directly in the face, and Mac still wasn't responding. He was only mumbling, but Jack couldn't make out what he was trying to say.

"I cehn't hsya you mi eras are ringing" Mac mumbled. Jack was about to pick up Mac bridal style when the younger agent cried out and grabbed Jack's wrist, or at least he tried to he grabbed more of Jack's jacket. After another minute, which Jack thought was way too long, Mac's body finally relaxed a little bit again and let go of Jack's jacket. And in that moment, Mac talked again, and this time Jack could even understand what he was saying, even though it was kind of sluggish.

"Ok that hurt really bad"

"Hey buddy are you back to normal or what. Hey can you look at me." Jack said he wanted to ckeck Mac's pupilles .

"Okay, well, that doesn't look promising. Your pupils are different sizes, and they don't react normally. So, definitely a concussion. That's just great." Jack said, worried and a little guilty.

"Mhhh that's not good. My head hurts" Mac said still a little bit sluggish.

"Hey buddy, hang on. We're gonna get you to exfil, and then the medics can take a good look at that head of yours and get you on the good stuff." Jack didn't even let Mac process what he just said; he was already carefully picking Mac up. Mac didn't even protest, which worried Jack even more. After he got Mac positioned in his arms, his head resting on Jack's shoulder, he was now moving to exfil. Even though he knew Mac tried really hard not to make any sound while Jack carried him, he could still hear him whimper or grunt in pain sometimes, which broke Jack's heart even more and made him feel even more guilty than he had already felt. After all, Jack was the one who punched Mac in the face, even though it was an accident.

"Mac, come on, buddy, you have to stay awake." That was probably the 10th time Jack said that, but he had to make sure Mac stayed awake at least until he got him to exfil and then on the plane back to L.A.

"Tired. Head hurts." Mac anwsered Jack.

"Sorry, buddy, but you can't go to sleep yet." After two very long hours, Jack finally made it to exfil with Mac in his arms, half asleep.

"Mac, hey we did it. We're at exfil now. The medics can give you something for the pain and then you can go to sleep on the plane ride home," Jack said relieved. The medics checked Mac over. Like Jack had already assumed, Mac had a bad concussion, and what Jack didn't even see at first was the big lump on the back of Mac's head where he obviously hit his head on the table. Jack saw the nasty cut on his forehead but didn't even look further for more injuries. Jack was now feeling more guilty than he had probably ever felt in his entire life. No wonder the kid was in so much pain.

On the plane ride home, everything was going smoothly. Jack had laid Mac's head on his lap and was carefully combing through his blonde, gorgeous hair with his fingers. Until one moment where Mac bolted upright and ran off to the lavatory on the plane. Mac had no time to lock the door, so just moments later, Jack was in the bathroom with him, soothing his hair back and rubbing circles on his back. After five minutes, Mac was finally finished throwing up, and afterwards, Jack helped him back to the sofa on the plane, placing a trash can beside them just in case, which was a really good idea because Mac needed the trash can more than once the rest of the flight back to L.A. Back home, Mac had to go to the medical center at the Phoenix Foundation but was cleared just a few minutes after Jack was finished debriefing with Matty. Luckily, Mac could do the debriefing when he was feeling better and not now. So Jack helped Mac into his car and drove him to Mac's house.

"Thanks for driving me back, Jack. You can go now. I'm just gonna head to bed. I'm so tired."

"Nope, not happening buddy. I'm going to crash on your couch for the rest of the week. I won't leave your side. I heard what the doctor said about you leaving already. Someone has to be by your side 24/7. And Bozer is off on a mission and won't be here for the next week, so I'm going to stay."

"Oh you don't have to do that you can really-" Mac said when everything around him swirled and he swayed a little bit on his feet, almost falling to the ground again.

"Wow, come here. I'm going to help you to bed, and I'm not going to leave. That is not up for discussion," Jack said, reaching out for Mac to support him.

"Fine" Mac said with a sigh.
